  • Learn Hand Embroidery for Beginners:
Back stitch is made by taking the thread backward than the conventional forward motion, and thus the name. It is a very flexible to follow curves and bends in a design.
Today i will be covering 6 Basic stitches of Back stitch family.
Once you familiarize yourself with basic stitches, you will find that they are the foundation to those more elaborate stitches that once seemed too difficult to tackle.
This is the beginning of a hand embroidery journey that i hope you will follow along with.
    Back stitch family:
    1. Back stitch
    2. whipped back stitch
    3. Threaded back stitch
    4. Chinese Stitch (pekinese stitch)
    5. Herringbone ladder filling stitch
    6. Split back stitch

Hi, really love your videos!!! Just started out on embroidery as a way to pass time. Is it possible if you share a video on how to start and end a thread with less knots on the back?

It's very very useful to get Variations of a stitch at one place. Thank you so much for sharing. Only for back stitch or are there variations for other Stitches also. If there are, please put up separate videos for every stitch with its Variations, if its possible and if its not inconvenient to you. Thank you once again.

How do you embroidery so knots are not so plentiful on the back side? Also so they don't show through on a finished piece? I saw some hand embroidered dish towels that were very neat wth no knots on the back side. I have a complicated piece that gets framed but I don't know how I can do it without knots showing on the front of the light background!
