I first started to embroider when I was 13. It was a project that my mother gave me to do during summer vacation. To this day--I'm 82--I still enjoy doing it. It is very useful and easy. I know different stitches thanks to the RUclips videos.
Relaxing to watch! I’ve only done a little bit of embroidery years ago. I have a book of simple patterns, but I’m saving this video as a video reference. Thanks!
Beautiful, I have not done embroidery in a long while now. This very relaxing for anyone wondering, just take rests for your hands, and watch your fingers on the underside lol.
Thank you so much for sharing and for the nice music...see your tutorial bring me back to my school years, I don’t think they teach embroidery at school anymore
Believe me, you can use so many fabrics, especially to practice on. 100 percent cotton sheets pillowcases including flannelette bits of tartan, good wool felt. If you have a floppy piece of fabric, spray starch it, lightly then press. Got an old wool jumper? Cut it up and embroider it with wool. The best pieces are the recycled ones that we are think we cannot do.
These tutorials are good but sometimes hard to follow because you make jumpcuts halfway through showing us how to do something, leaving me to guess what I'm supposed to do :(
Hi! I love seeing all these stitches! You have shown so many and I’ve never seen a lot of them! I like how clear, close-up and brightly lit your videos are!! You display the project very well. I have subscribed so I look forward to watching more of your videos. Do you ever put links for patterns? For example, your video of stitching the alphabet- I’m sure I could use a stencil to trace it on, but it would be great to have the same patterns as you are working on, and we could follow along as you do each one (and pause it as we go since we won’t be as fast as you!! 😊) Personally, I would like to HEAR you give instructions for the first 5-10 stitches. If you don’t want to commentate, you could have the instructions come up on the screen. That might be too hard to follow though, so maybe a better option would be for you to write the instructions down for each one and include a link in the description below (AND you could keep it on the screen while working on the project too!) People could print the list, and be able to follow along with the video. The list of instructions would also be very helpful to refer back to if you forget how exactly to do it but you don’t want to go through the video again. Can’t wait to get started! Thanks! Patti
My Nani was pro in this .I learned few of these when I was kid .will do some on my daughter dress insha'Allah. Those were beautiful calm old days without social media internet mobile 💜
So talented artistic & soothing to watch your creativity - every culture has it's own unique embroidery artwork & I am so glad it is not a dying art.🙏🌺🎨
I just started learning to embroidery. Someone gave me a huge box full of everything that I need to start embroidery. I have started some quilt squares that have Victorian ladies on them and these borders are perfect for the squares. I'm not sure if I do the same border on all of them or a different border on each one. 😊
I remember my mother teaching us all wonderful embroidery, crocheting and weaving also had my grandmother's book from which she taught embroidery to her students and all girls in the family... wonderful childhood making those beautiful patterns, friendship bands and weaving bands.shawls for my own daughter when she was born. The picturisation of your video reminded me of my grandma's book.
Yes! I've always been artistic. When I was 11 & my grandparents aniversary came up... I decided to draw them a family tree on a large art paper. Everyone was in AWE at my perfection but when my aunt said ITS A SHAME ITS PENCIL & MAY FADE... my mother decided to embroider it on muslin! That's when I learned. That was 43 years ago... & it now hangs in my mothers entry way. ❣️🦋🧚👃🧚🦋❣️
Bonjour ce que j'aime,se sont l'image de près je peux mieux comprendre, musique parfaite, une très belle idée, en regardant je mais sur pose et hop je continue tout en continuant mes points, merci beaucoup
Such a nice video. Makes me want to start a new project. :) One thing I would like to see is the work on the backside. To me, that is almost as important as the front. Or at least show the times you carry thread over and the times you tie off. Seeing your technique for starting and stopping would be nice too. I've been sewing, embroidering and doing needlepoint for many decades now, but I love seeing and learning new techniques.
