    • @PhobicSSB
      @PhobicSSB  5 лет назад

      What is probably happening is that you are pressing "A" too quickly after initiating float and buffering the down air. You always need to press down to start a ground float so you probably aren't giving enough time before you press "A" and after you let go of down so that the stick is back in the neutral position. Try to be very deliberate in your matches so that you aren't rushing the inputs in higher paced situations. Also i use "L" for ground floats and use "A" for nair and c-stick for other aerials.

    I'm certainly no pro with peach, but I find it very helpful to use the claw grip when playing with her. There are several videos on this particular grip, but I've had a significantly easier time with the ground float aerials using the claw grip. Essentially, your thumb stays on the c-stick (set to tilts generally) for instant aerials, while your pointer finger comes up and covers x, y, a and b. Your middle finger would then press r and r buttons, and your remaining two fingers would hold the bottom of the controller. There are different variations of this, and I actually prefer to have my thumb cover the b button as well as its a little awkward to hit it with my pointer finger. It might feel a bit awkward at first, but I think it provides much easier access to ground floats and instant aerials. Let me know if this helps!

    Any opinions on this? Great guide by the way.

    • @PhobicSSB
      @PhobicSSB  4 года назад +2

      At the end of the day you should always use what you're most comfortable with. However it will make running tilts a little harder and it can make getting confirms that require turn around tilts with strict timing in combos more difficult. For example, back air to down tilt can be true or close to it at low percents and with the tilt stick you can start holding right with control stick in the landing lag of bair and just use tilt stick for down tilt as soon as you see your character turn. There is probably a way to do this with smash stick (like using diagonal angles maybe?) but overall would be more difficult. Again this might not be a big deal for you though and samsora uses default control (I think) so certainly there are ways to make it work! Hope this helps!

  • @davidbai3543
    @davidbai3543 5 лет назад +2

    Quick question: when you are spamming back air in neutral do you turn around most of the time and then ground float back air or are you using attack cancel back air/reverse aerial rush?

    • @PhobicSSB
      @PhobicSSB  5 лет назад +2

      The clip i used may have been confusing but you should never really be spamming any move especially if you are getting whiff punished. I use both of these methods in neutral either at a distance i know my opponent can't punish the landing lag in order to control space or space myself to begin applying direct pressure with the move if i find a way into my opponent. I don't use attack cancels often but they are useful, most of the clips I am just doing RAR into ground float. Hopefully this is somewhat helpful lol

    15:29 How the heck do you do that so fast? I cannot even reach close to that speed without accidentally down-airing.

    • @PhobicSSB
      @PhobicSSB  5 лет назад +3

      Speed will naturally come with time as you practice it but if you want to focus on speeding up, be VERY deliberate with your movements and really think about why it's happening. In order to input the GF Nair you need to input the downwards direction to float. So, remember you're limited to the amount of time it takes for your control stick to return to the neutral position after initiating float. It's most likely the case that you're pressing attack before letting this process happen and buffering the Dair, so try adjusting your timing a bit.

    • @PhobicSSB
      @PhobicSSB  5 лет назад

      @@gabli6757 lol I completely understand, it's hard when you first learn how to use all of a character's moves. If you want to use the attack button then be very sure that you are being careful with how you are pushing down. If you press down hard and attack quickly you will always get the smash attack. So you either need to try and move your control stick down first and then press attack or only tilt it down like halfway then press attack. It's actually a lot harder to do it this way instead of changing your control scheme to tilt attack on c-stick because you can always have easy access to it!

    • @PhobicSSB
      @PhobicSSB  5 лет назад

      Hey, thanks for bringing it up and while I considered going over other controller setups in the video, there are two reasons I didn't. Firstly the majority of those playing and interested in the competitive side of smash and even a large number of casuals find the gamecube controller to be the most comfortable to them and it's also the one that I use myself. And secondly, I didn't think it would be too difficult to translate the changes into another controller type e.g. "shoulder button to jump" seems somewhat universal. If you need help translating the controls, let me know what controller you use and I can give you the translations!
