Dude I got the K&N sticker, sideways hat, AND and underage girl riding shotgun. That's like 150 extra horsepower. Thinking about Squatting it and getting and extra 75.
Pedal Commander is awesome. If you cut your teeth on carburetored engines and like the instant response from your gas pedal then this product is for you. I drove my 2012 5.7L Hemi for almost 58,000 miles before install of the Pedal Commander and there is a ridiculous difference. I was hugely skeptical before I bought it. I did some research and decided to buy it. It’s as responsive now as any old carbureted engine I ever owned. There’s 36 levels of adjustment too for customization of your pedal to your liking. I can’t say a single bad thing about this product. Period. Anyone I’ve ever known to install one has been insanely happy too. That’s my experience with that product and many others. Throttle response is critical and when you jam your foot to the floor and there’s a crazy delay and you don’t feel the raw power that you should feel coming from a Hemi, order one of these and then let’s see. I’ve turned my vehicle into a beast with just one of these. K&N cold-air kit a little while later and my truck feels, sound, (sounds way better with cold air kit) reacts like a whole new vehicle. Next will be a CNC 5 axis ported throttle body (85mm Moes Performance) a couple high flow catalytic converters and flowmaster cat back American Thunder or Outlaw exhaust system. Then my daily driver/work truck will be done besides a lower temp thermostat and maybe a few other things.
I love the Pedal Commander. I have a Ram 3500 with a 6.4L. Before the pedal commander I would give it some gas and it would "think" about it. After pedal commander I get an instant response. It made me like my truck even more. It doesn't add horsepower just makes the throttle faster.

Just a note on the resonator for the 5-speed Ram, if you delete the muffler and leave the resonator on you won't get back popping like a regular straight pipe and it sounds like a glass pack exhaust. Quiet at idle, but barks like hell when you get on it. Cost me $30, sounds like $1,200

I just got 37s and a 6in lift for bds and my guy is suggesting a pedal commander in the mean time till I save up to research my truck, have you noticed a difference with it?
1. Wheels are for looks. 2. Pedal Commander is for feel, takes away the sluggishness of stock cars. 3. Catch can is to keep engine clean for those who wants hundreds of thousands of miles. Engines degrade over time, catch cans help. 4. Resonator I think is stupid but w.e. 5. Tb spaces does increase air if you have intake, major upgrade no but I won’t void warranty and makes cool sound.
Catch cans dont come factory because of emissions it's to catch oil from blowing back through your engine for a cleaner exhaust gas nothing to do with performance it's about keeping your top end from developing sludge and carbon deposits in the combustion chamber
The "catch can" collects the oil mist. Its not a horsepower generator but preventative maintenance. I have clean valve and combustion chambers from using it. Thanks and have a great day!
Catch cans are honestly really cheap, if you have a forced induction car or truck they are very useful catching blowby oil. It keeps it from being returned back into the intake manifold. You will never gain power from a catch can but you will maintain your engine and cleanliness within the intake manifold, throttle body and combustion chamber
Catch can isn't really about performance in the direct sense, it's about preventative maintenance on direct injection engines to prevent valve "caking". A caked up valve will indeed inhibit airflow, and oil mist can screw with octane, but it's mostly to prevent DI engine valve caking..
The resonators are actually there to cut down on the cabin noise lol.. the only thing that happens by taking them off is it’s louder in the cabin but not outside or.. more so on larger cab versions.. it’s specifically for keeping the exhaust sound out of the cabin as much as possible. People think it helps cause it’s louder in the drivers seat lol
I hope you know what you're getting yourself into, lol. Currently modding my Ram. I didn't realize how many goodies there were until I started researching. Good luck!
If you have a 2019 1500, deleting the resonator does make a difference when also deleting the muffler. Look inside the 2 resonators. They are designed to make the truck quiet.
So having a more responsive truck is just a touchy pedal ??? Pedal commander is awesome and worth the $300 IMO !I have a 2019 Ram 1500 when getting on the parkway the lag was terrible ! Now the truck goes when i say it goes !
You are correct. The only thing I disagree on is the TB spacers. My 05 hemi Rams throttle response is noticably better after installing it. Unsure about newer models though
Time out... oil catch can may not be a "performance mod" but the 5.7 hemi is notorious for blow by. I put one on my daily driver charger... it has kept so much oil from going back in my intake. I dont even race it.
#1 mod, I have a 2016 with black interior and changed to a black headliner, all interior window trim pieces and all headliner trim panels. Looks great. Went to see the new 2019 Ram and, voila, they now make the headliner black....much better and matches all interior colors much better than the light grey.
catch can isnt for performance its to keep the oil from recirculating. cars dont come stock with it because you cant expect the average person to empty them so often
The first mod was my exact set of wheels and similar tires😆 I don’t go fast I just cruise around on dirt roads and stuff. I want to go fast but speed parts are not cheap. Cool channel glad I found it.
The throttle body spacer is mrant to increase torque and that is about all it does. So people saying they have better throttle response, that is what you are feeling is a slight torque response. No different than adding a spacer underneath a normally aspirated carb.
I recently got a Pedal Commander for my '16 Ram but definitely not for performance. The acceleration is quite a bit smoother which is exactly what I was looking for. Expensive? Somewhat, but as long as someone knows what it's going to do for them, I think it's worth it.
I agree with you 100% but I have the roar pedal I personally love it because the throttle of the stock throttle is so laggy and I need it a touchy pedal.
Any full sized RAM 1500 is NOT a drag strip vehicle...They're simply too heavy...WTF are these guys thinking?..If you wanna go fast, get a Challenger or something much lighter than a RAM truck...If you must race a RAM, get the 2WD single cab version..They're a bit lighter without the front diff and transfer case.
Carburetors and old Throttle body injection units used spacers effectively however they were completely different from newer fuel injected dry intake systems.
I added a Vortx spectre throttlebody spacer on mine along with a k&n true cold air intake and a super chip programmer and I love the way it performs. Next step is a magna flow stainless steel mandrel bent exhaust system from the headers back.
They don't put a catch can in from factory because most wouldn't want to keep up with maintaining it. Pedal commander isn't a performance mod, def a driver experience mod. BUZZ killer - I'm ordering a throttle body spacer right now
:) we will see - wrapping up my spacer purchase right now! I will make a video how to beat a cammed ram. Get a pedal commander, oil catch can, throttle body spacer!!! Oh and a supercharger hahaha
I have never used a pedal commander, but everyone who has one raves about it. Furthermore, my jaguar f pace has 4 different driving modes (dynamic, normal, eco, snow/rain) which are very distinct as far as throttle response. The difference between normal and dynamic is night and day! So if the pedal commander is anything like that, it’s absolutely worth the money.
What he's saying is that it does nothing for performance. For the things you mentioned, absolutely get it. But for performance improvement, spend your money elsewhere.
I do agree about the resonators, Even if you cut them off, there is still a muffler and the rest of the exhaust system upstream that will cause the vehicle to perform the same.
Well actually it might depend on the brand I bought an AFE throttle body spacer and I can hear a cool whistle around 3000 rpm that alone is worth it tbh it felt a little more peppy too maybe it’s only in conjunction with the Vararam air grabber intake I bought
My truck can get lazy sometimes when I step on the gas and I want it to downshift. Not a lot of the time, but when it does, it pisses me off so bad. I’m looking forward to trying out a Pedal Commander. Maybe I can actually get some response. Should be a pleasant surprise!
If your going to take your ram pick up to the track upgrade your fuel system & add procharger&are a supercharger&are a big single turbo&are twin turbos&intercooler&add true headers&true dual exhaust minus your stock muffler, ram air intake.more aggressive tires for the track (cause spinning isnt winning) resurface your heads&bore&stroke your engine &change the cam.&add direct&are sequential fuel injection are go old school with a big double pump carb&tri-carb setup(3 duece)
Re: Catch can - the reason the manufacturers don't put catch cans in is that the oil flowing back into the intake won't come back to bite them via warranty - the effects will really start to show up post-warranty. Using the argument 'the manufacturer doesn't do it so it's a waste' is flawed - the manufacturer doesn't have the consumer's interests in mind UNLESS it impacts the manufacturer's bottom line.
Don’t delete resonators, they help prevent drone and are straight through anyways so no performance impact. Save your money on a full catback system, just get a direct replacement muffler from Flowmaster. I’ve got the American Thunder, it sounds great-not too loud and no drone! If you want louder, you can get the Outlaw.
I’m glad I watched this LOL I bought a 2010 and had the resonators removed because when they installed my Flowmaster 44 he said he would do it cheap since it was already on the rack. So I had it done but I never did get a comparison. But after listening to you and watching a couple more videos I’m not wasting $200 or whatever it cost. I’ll probably just get the outlet plug and play
Team Rowdy he didn’t lie to you I cut my mufflers off and it sounded clogged asked them to cut resonators sounded alot more clear 👍 and I also have 44 flow
You won’t notice any gains from a bigger throttle body till you can get more air in and out of the engine. I’d get a performance exhaust, cam, and intake manifold before a bigger throttle body.
I have a 2011 Ram i have knobby tires on stock rims. More of a go anywhere kinda truck guy rather than track. Won't lie sport truck builds are crazy fun. But these mod do nots were still helpful. Ill just wait until I can get my outlaw series system 👍 sounds like more sound for the wrench work.
As for the throttle body spacers, it depends on the vehicle, I put one on my '92 K1500, I believe it was an airraid with the helical inserts, best thing I've done to it hands down, I doubt it makes any more power or mpgs but the throttle response is 10x better, but then again it's a 190hp shitty flowing 350. Just depends on the vehicle.
When did a catch can become a performance mod? It's just meant to keep dirty oil from getting into the intake and causing carbon buildup or other issues. It's far from being the worst thing you can do to an engine.
I know nothing about the Pedal Commander, but...I just installed Pedalmax. Tell you what, the throttle response is totally different. I can't say if it's faster, but the difference is night and day, woke my 2010 5.7 up.
Ram1500 4x4 5.7L (3.21) I definitely lost speed with my 35x12.50 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Sucks but ok since I use it for the Beaches, Snow, Mountains, Deserts. (San Diego)
I bought a device from acclope does the same thing as pedal comander and roar pedal for $85 made a signicant difference off the line well worth the $85 to me made my 2013 ram alot more fun to drive along with a few other things I`ve done tuner good air filter flowmasters on low mileage replacement engine and good gas got a heavy truck to move out a lil fater than it did before it`s my work truck might as well enjoy driving it
The music audio is way too loud and the voice audio is super quiet bruh. Probably fix it in premiere. But great content. Looking at a 2019 classic crew cab right now. Hoping to find a good product for the pedal delay.
The catch can isnt for performance it's about keeping your engine cleaner. if you get a new vehicle every time you pay it off sure a catch can is not going to do anything for you. If you plan on keeping the vehicle for an extended period of time that is where it shines.
I had 24 inch Dubs wrapped in 305 35s on my 2014 ecodiesel.. looked great but lost literally 5mpgs .. good thing that truck had great gas mileage to begin with...
Actually with no resognators it does make a difference, way raspier but I had long tube headers and a y pipe before cutting them out. Day and night difference. I kept the stock rear exhaust from after the new y pipe section.
Catch cans are not a performance mod though bro it’s more of a maintenance mod to keep your engine cleaner and catch all that extra oil from sludging up ur engine and I think the only reason why it doesn’t come from the factory stock is because of a emissions thing that the manufacturer probably didn’t wanna pay the government extra money for but yea it’s a take it or leave it thing and as for big wheels I’m running OEM 22” SRT-10 Rims with 4.56 rear gears I have no problems getting out of the hole
The catch can DOES have a plus, although not really in the "PERFORMANCE" ASPECT... It strips MOST of the oil from the air being pulled back into the intake manifold. With the barrel type manifold the oil will tend to form drips (that over time will act./grow like stalactites) at the top of the manifold where it cools and solidifies. Over time they will affect the smooth airflow the manifold was designed for. The rest of them, you are dead on ! The spacer just gives you a place to screw your nitrous nozzle into, if not using nitrous, yeah...you just added a pound of DEAD WEIGHT !
Changing the oil or using good quality oil has nothing to do what catch cans do. With direct injection, oil residue in the intake isn’t cleaned off by fuel. Catch can collects the residue so it doesn’t build up in your intake. Port injection solves this problem. But if your engine is only direct injection, then catch cans will keep your engine cleaner and should require less maintenance once it gets older.
@@IncredibleHemi1111 , He was sort of mocking you. He's pointing out that you only run without the can, so you don't have anything to compare your times to.
I couldn't agree more with the list of things you mentioned, however i like that wistle type noise the throttle body spacer makes and maybe it's all in my head, but it seems like my gas pedal is more responsive. Idk , but i no longer have my ram but and do miss it . i love the new ones but little low on funds at this time.
This is one of the best videos I’ve ever seen on RUclips in terms of debunking myths around popular mods. Good info, didn’t develop much on the whys and becauses, but the info is spot-on. I would only add that people put wheels and tires for looks, if someone is doing it for performance they are not the brightest
drill the bottom of your air box, muffler delete and run lighter wheels you will see a difference nothing dramatic but it works for a little more oomph
Big tires for off-road love highway fuel economy ,down acceleration down and tire noise up it al depends on what you are doing still upgrade motor for off-road use
Hey bud the resonator thing, it’s a little misinformation. I had a super 10 and only that with no resonators, too loud, my exhaust shop actually added one in front of the muffler and up closer to the cats. It sounds so much better with that much more toned and not so explosively loud on cold start. By all means people keep them where they are or add one in front of your aftermarket your neighbors will thank you
The catch cam is to help reduce blow by going back into your intake. It actually helps more than you think. And resonators are deleted for more airflow not really for sound. It’s not going to help a ton and won’t knock off a crap ton off your E.T but if your into racing and getting a better time every little bit counts. That might be the difference between a 12.001 and an 11.999. Everything else I agree with 100%
If your vehicle has any oil in the intake, you need a catch can. Most manufacturers are cool with so much oil being sucked in. Eventually it does cause issues. Spacers at the TB are a waste.
LoL, I just watched a video on the pedal commander and the guy swore he gained HP. The catch can is only a mod to just keep the oil from building up in the intake from over time. If anything it looks cool.
Hey love the channel but there are some information on the pedal commander now that more people have them it will help at the track . I agree the price is way high but just try one. For awd or 4x4 you get stupid fast 60ft times and a faster mph. if you have a 2x4 all your going to do is a big ass burnout unless you have a good drag pack.
I will have to say, the catch can is actually an excellent mod to have, after 75-100k miles take off your throttle body and intake manifold and look at the sludge build up on it, think about where that goes... that’s all going into the top end.. I put one on my Hemi and cleaned my intake manifold and installed a bbk throttle body and I know it’s reducing the sludge because most of it is in the can... for 60-110$ I don’t think it’s a bad mod. Great video though!
A catch can isn’t a performance upgrade anyway, never was intended to make you faster. The reason they don’t come from the factory is because they have emissions standards to follow that makes them burn crank case vapours. A catch can is going to take the oil vapours from your crankcase and put them in a can instead of into your intake manifold. After 100,000 miles your intake manifold is going to look like shit, and so are your valves. Cleaning at this point might get you a few horsepower.
Rusty, I think you know what you mean but explained wrong. It doesn't have anything to do with vapors. It doesn't collect gases. It collects the water vapor droplets and contaminated oil droplets by adhering to the material inside the can. Your engine is still burning the fuel and oil vapors so it will not effect emissions. The pcv valve is supposed to stop the liquid droplets from going thru and into your intake. It does to a point, but on the hemi and many higher output engines a certain amount gets by. I put one on my Dodge because I was tired of cleaning the throttle body and I didn't want to see what it was doing to the intake and/or valves. I don't have to clean my throttle body hardly ever now. Mine usually doesn't catch much in the summer, it catches alot in the winter months due to the temperature differences. It looks like chocolate milk in the winter. In all seriousness the pcv has no effect on what comes out of your tailpipe. The pcv vents the fumes from the crankcase so your block doesn't explode. The ECM controls fuel flow thru the injectors and timing and many other things along with O2 sensors and cats. They just send the gases into the intake which also helps with fuel mileage to a tiny point instead of letting them vent into the air. Catch cans have been used on race cars whether it be oval or 1/4 mile for years.
Now granted a resonator delete does nothing for performance, but if you honestly can’t hear that the but deleting the resonators, the exhaust is much more harsh sounding, than you should consider hearing aids. Personally I don’t like the harshness of a resonator delete, but I can hear the difference as clear as day. Just me. Maybe it’s better for you that you can’t tell.

BUZZ killer - I'm ordering a throttle body spacer right now
Better get that throttke body spacer... You'll be able to take me lol
I'm getting forced air most likely - going to dog you real bad the next time we meet up :). Going to make that thing look like it's standing still
@@RTLife I guarantee you u from a dig I will still leave you... But you'll eventually pass me
:) we will see - wrapping up my spacer purchase right now! I will make a video how to beat a cammed ram. Get a pedal commander, oil catch can, throttle body spacer!!! Oh and a supercharger hahaha
@@RTLife that would actually be hilarious lol
Just printed my return label for my Ebay cold air intake.
Lol well u gotta do what u gotta do
I’m glad I watched this LOL I bought a 2010 and had the resonators removed because when they installed my Flowmaster 44 he said he would do it cheap since it was already on the rack. So I had it done but I never did get a comparison. But after listening to you and watching a couple more videos I’m not wasting $200 or whatever it cost. I’ll probably just get the outlet plug and play
Team Rowdy he didn’t lie to you I cut my mufflers off and it sounded clogged asked them to cut resonators sounded alot more clear 👍 and I also have 44 flow
steveo78227 so you’re saying cut them? Or no?
You won’t notice any gains from a bigger throttle body till you can get more air in and out of the engine. I’d get a performance exhaust, cam, and intake manifold before a bigger throttle body.
I have a 2011 Ram i have knobby tires on stock rims. More of a go anywhere kinda truck guy rather than track. Won't lie sport truck builds are crazy fun. But these mod do nots were still helpful. Ill just wait until I can get my outlaw series system 👍 sounds like more sound for the wrench work.
The resonator does make a noticeable difference on the 4.7s
As for the throttle body spacers, it depends on the vehicle, I put one on my '92 K1500, I believe it was an airraid with the helical inserts, best thing I've done to it hands down, I doubt it makes any more power or mpgs but the throttle response is 10x better, but then again it's a 190hp shitty flowing 350. Just depends on the vehicle.
Andy Marshall I did the same on my 1992 built tbi motor.
never let somone , especially on youtube , tell you how to build your truck . it’s your money and it’s your truck
So, I've added BBK shorty headers and a magnaflow muffler delete. Which should do next? Throttle body or cam?
Definitely stage 2 cam
When did a catch can become a performance mod? It's just meant to keep dirty oil from getting into the intake and causing carbon buildup or other issues. It's far from being the worst thing you can do to an engine.
It's really intended for turbocharged engines to not mist and coke the compressor blades. Really reduces boost and increases turbo lag when fouled.
(San Diego)
Thanks for the info man i was wondering about those throttlebody spacers n if they helped make any extra power now i know not to waist my money on 1
I bought a device from acclope does the same thing as pedal comander and roar pedal for $85 made a signicant difference off the line well worth the $85 to me made my 2013 ram alot more fun to drive along with a few other things I`ve done tuner good air filter flowmasters on low mileage replacement engine and good gas got a heavy truck to move out a lil fater than it did before it`s my work truck might as well enjoy driving it
The music audio is way too loud and the voice audio is super quiet bruh. Probably fix it in premiere. But great content. Looking at a 2019 classic crew cab right now. Hoping to find a good product for the pedal delay.
Catch cam is not for performance, it’s to keep oil out of your intake and intake runners. You’ll end up with excessive carbon when it burns up.
I would argue that the throttle commander is not a waste of money. It's nice to have a responsive throttle instead of the lag
I'm going back and forth on a pedal response device and a tune not tying to sport out my truck but would like the pedal to be more responsive
Besr and cheapest performance mod is painting your calibers red. Adds an extra 50 HP for the price of a can of red spray paint.
I found it on moes performance, it doesn’t say jay Greene. It says hemifever stage 2 is this the correct one? Thanks
Yea dont get it with hemifever, go to Greene racing on facebook and contact him there n hell hook u up
Changing the oil or using good quality oil has nothing to do what catch cans do.
"I've ran consistent times at the track without a catch can" ....freaking gold. hahahah
Same here
@@IncredibleHemi1111 , He was sort of mocking you.
The resonator is designed to prevent " Droning "
Correct - INSIDE the cabin!
Thanks for the info bro. Was a little surprised about the spacer, saved me $100.
No problem it's an absolute waste of money save your money for a worthy MOD
These can be applied to any newer vehicles not just RAMs, especially the stupid TB spacer
Hey bud the resonator thing, it’s a little misinformation. I had a super 10 and only that with no resonators, too loud, my exhaust shop actually added one in front of the muffler and up closer to the cats. It sounds so much better with that much more toned and not so explosively loud on cold start. By all means people keep them where they are or add one in front of your aftermarket your neighbors will thank you
I did the pedal commander and now it’s out of my truck. It does help with throttle lag but that’s it. Not worth the money though.
Everything else I agree with 100%
Lol I know it's actually good for the motor I just needed another mid for this list
If your vehicle has any oil in the intake, you need a catch can. Most manufacturers are cool with so much oil being sucked in. Eventually it does cause issues.
Spacers at the TB are a waste.
I thought catch can were for maintenance not for performance
Same here I like the tires on my truck . it's fast the way it is 🇨🇦🇨🇦
LoL, I just watched a video on the pedal commander and the guy swore he gained HP. The catch can is only a mod to just keep the oil from building up in the intake from over time. If anything it looks cool.
Pcv valve
Hey love the channel but there are some information on the pedal commander now that more people have them it will help at the track . I agree the price is way high but just try one. For awd or 4x4 you get stupid fast 60ft times and a faster mph. if you have a 2x4 all your going to do is a big ass burnout unless you have a good drag pack.
#1 Dont install car seat.
Big wheels/tires eat horse power and MPG like candy
Because who would possibly take a truck offroad... sure has alot of room for your groceries I suppose .
@@chexlemeneux8790 you've never been to Canada have you. Offroad everyday in trucks
I use the auto mind tuner from Banks sport program and my fuel mileage went from 9 to 16 miles per gallon
Thank you I know it's a decent mod it helps longevity
