  • It’s my 4 Year Natural Hair Growth / Length Check Update Video. I did the big chop back in April 2017, having transitioned to natural hair for 18 months and so I’ve been documenting my natural hair journey over the years, through pictures and hair journey updates.
My last update was done back in October 2020, so in this update i’m sharing everything from the very beginning April 2017 to April 2021, as well as my update from October 2020 to April 2021 through side by side comparison pics.
Overall, I’m happy with the progress I’ve made over the years, but this journey is more about having healthy hair and keeping up with the maintenance and health of my hair, more than anything else.
Hope you enjoy the video 🤗

I had my hair dyed copper orange for some months (Jan to mar)
Removed the style I had on in mar due to my sister telling me my edges were damaged
Did natural twists from a salon for 3 weeks or so (april) and that totally ruined my hair (I lost a lot alot of hair😭 ) I'll never go back to her
In may I dyed my back to black and did 4 jumbo braids for my bday in may
Now I took of those braids today , saw my edges was totally damaged and I don't know what is happening at the back
So tomorrow I'll do my wash day and let's keep my hair free for some weeks or month/s before self teaching and doing a protective style
Since last year I've been going natural and imma continue to do so for years to come
Thank you so much. I learn a lot from your videos

Do you attribute this length retention to sticking to a solid routine? I'm finally trying again with my hair but this time I won't be chasing after the zillions of products influencers tend to use and will be sticking to what works for my hair so I'd love to know your take on sticking to a consistent routine with what works for your hair.

    • @HealthyAfroHair
      @HealthyAfroHair  3 года назад +2

Yes 💯! Just following a simple routine, using products that work well with your hair and being consistent in following the same processes, definitely makes a difference in the long run. So I’d definitely recommend doing that and I’m sure you’re notice a difference.

    • @HealthyAfroHair

Thank you ☺️ Double check it’s not the sulfate in the shampoo causing your scalp irritation. If it’s not that, then you can mix some tea tree oil into your shampoo or deep conditioner to help and also make sure you’re drinking lots of water.

Yeah SSK’s can be annoying, although luckily for me, I don’t really notice too many of them. But try to keep your hair stretched, protect your ends and keep them moisturised. As for growth and retaining length, do you have a regular routine?

    • @nathaliewiltshire7092

@@HealthyAfroHair I truly don't have a particular routine right now. I have to get hair products, but here in the Caribbean some products are very expensive.
