    So here’s my 1 Year Natural Hair Growth Update video showing you my hair journey from April 2017 to April 2018. Hope it motivates some of you to keep going on your hair journeys 💛

      Healthy Afro Hair how is this even possible ?! Had my hair natural for like two years and it hasn’t grown more than 5 cm 😔 and as if it wasn’t enough, now it’s all breaking for no apparent reason! 😔 I’m desperate, it’s incredibly frustrating to have such hair (4b/4c)!!

    • @HealthyAfroHair
      @HealthyAfroHair  6 лет назад

      I have the same hair type as you, so it is possible. But remember, we all have different hair growth rates, so some peoples hair grows faster or slower than others. Also, breakage (like your experiencing now) is another thing that sets many people back, so I’m sure your hair is growing, but it’s just retaining the length. Is there anything at all you can think of that may be effecting your growth? Regular heat usage? Protective styles? Too much manipulation?

    • @halfmonster9013
      @halfmonster9013 6 лет назад

      Healthy Afro Hair it might be my hormones, I can’t think of anything else as a possible cause for the problem. Significant breakage (like, literally washing my hair and seeing lots of it on the shower, or brushing it and seeing it all over the sink) started to show just around three weeks ago: so I’ve lost all the growth I had struggled so much to keep during this year... 😔
      I stopped going to the hairdresser for blowdrying and silk pressing it every month or every two months one year ago, also I’m not able to put it in any style so I barely do so, therefore manipulation and heat are not likely to be the cause.
      Do you know of any way hormones (normal ones, I ain’t pregnant) or spring time can cause hear breakage ?

      Good job and continued success!

    • @HealthyAfroHair
      @HealthyAfroHair  6 лет назад +1

      It could be hormones, diet, stress or even an iron deficiency (which is very common within our community, resulting in hair issues) but it’s difficult to pinpoint the exact cause. But it’s definitely worth researching further. But in the meantime, try using a protein conditioner to help reduce the breakage.

    Who needs relaxers eh? We met at the hair show last year, my hair has been on the same journey as yours. I am loving my curls and wish I’d made the transition years ago.my hair is healthy and strong and my scalp is really healthy too. No more relaxer burn, breakage and trips to the salon, no more GHDs and flat hair. Well done on your journey and good luck with baby No 3.

    Your hair grows so fast it is gorgeous💕, how has pregnancy affected your hair growth?

    • @HealthyAfroHair
      @HealthyAfroHair  6 лет назад +1

      Thank you! 😊 It’s difficult to say what affect it’s had, since i’m still discovering things about my hair, so don’t have much to compare it to. But when I was relaxed, I definitely notice an increase in thickness.

    Lovely! Would love to see a comparison of your hair with ancient Egyptian statutes. I visited the Louvre and was shocked by the truth.

    Do you still do your wash and go the same? If not can you do a update on your technique and products. Hell I would like to see how you got your wash and go to look so good. Lol.

    • @HealthyAfroHair
      @HealthyAfroHair  6 лет назад

      😁 I have two methods; a 45 min one or 2 hour one. This was the 2 hour one which gets my hair really defined. I also have a ‘Dry Wash n Go’ video where I use the same methods. If you do watch it, just pay attention to the part where I apply the gel to my hair. But I plan on doing an updated video.

    I transitioned for 6 months so in terms of growth I'm just about where you were when you started. I thought we had similar hair. What I find amazing is that your hair hangs so much more compared to mine because in a wash and go style my hair is still pretty very very short when dry. I believe I have 4b hair but I believe it's also very very curly/coily as it can be super defined by a light moisturizer and grease alone. Can you do a wash and go without a gel? Starting to feel that my hair is very unusual. And no I don't think the grease is responsible because I used to use gel for my wash and gos and it had the same effect

    • @HealthyAfroHair
      @HealthyAfroHair  6 лет назад +1

      The picture of my wash n go in the video was still slightly wet/damp, so I had more length, but when it’s fully dry, it shrinks a lot more. If you check out my Instagram page, you’ll see some pics. But there’s nothing unusual about your hair. Everyone’s is completely unique.

    Hi, love all your videos. When you say Moisture your hair twice per day, you mean do the LCO OR LOC method twice? Or simply spritz water on your hair twice a day? Example: if I moisturize on wash day (Friday) how exactly should I Moisture each day after until the next wash day? Please help me. I’ve been Natural 4 years and my growth is stagnant

    • @HealthyAfroHair
      @HealthyAfroHair  5 лет назад

      Hey, happy to hear you’re enjoying my videos 🤗 So you can moisturise your hair as you like. In this particular video, I just wanted to show and explain the LCO method and the benefits. I really only use this if my hair is very dry. But you can just spritz with water, then apply a moisturising cream, if that’s all your hair needs. If you have high porosity hair, then moisturise twice daily. Even on Wash day, still moisturise your hair as normal, whether it’s once or twice a day.

    • @NaturalBeautee7

      Healthy Afro Hair thank you so very much. I’m going to start moisturizing twice a day
