  • Here's my hair routine on how I detangle my natural hair and I’ll be taking you step by step through the processes I apply, to detangle my hair with minimal hair breakage.
    I always start of with applying the Mane n Tail hair detangler (one of the best detanglers I’ve used to date). I then apply some coconut oil which helps smooth down the ends of my hair, provides slip, making it easier for the comb to easily glide through my hair.
    This method (along with managing my hair in sections) has really helped to reduce my detangling sessions from 1 hour & 45 mins to just under an hour.
    So if you’re struggling with detangling your hair, then make sure you give these method a try.
    Hope you enjoy this video! 😊

    I honest did Part 1 and Part 2 of your videos and i didn’t even need to detangle, just combed it out and added a little coconut oil. My hair was so soft and manageable! Thanks so much for your videos!

    I tried the mane n tail detangler. I let it sit for like 25-30min on my hair. (Since I'm think I'm low porosity) I'm worried it was kind of drying, (since its just a detangling spray) and my suave coconut conditoner wasn't enough to moisturize it. (Maybe because build-up?)

    • @coveredNfavored
      @coveredNfavored 4 года назад

      alldatzyall I tried the same as well. Watch the first two videos. You may need to deep condition with heat. And try a different product that has more moisture. It’s something to incorporate In your daily routine. I just started since I’m realizing my ends are super dry and breaking. My hair is just a little shorter than this right now but when I stretch it I have about 5 inches lol.

    Do you have high porosity hair?

    • @HealthyAfroHair
      @HealthyAfroHair  6 лет назад +1

      +Kimberley Grimes I did with my relaxed hair, but I’m yet to test it again now I’m natural to know for sure.

    • @savvysion6996
      @savvysion6996 6 лет назад +3

      Healthy Afro Hair If you had "high porosity" relaxed hair you *likely* have "high porosity" natural hair.
      My hair was "low porosity" when I relaxed and it's still "low porosity" now that I'm natural.
      A simple test is to see how your hair respond to heavy oils...castor oil, coconut oil, olive oil. If you makes your hair feel greasy, look dry, and feel like straw than it's low porosity. Heavy butters will do this also.
      If it take a long time for water to penetrate than than it low. If your hair prefer warm water after conditioning it and you need heat to get the conditioner to penetrate your hair than it's low.

      Savvy Sion I know this comment was made almost a year ago, but in regards to seeing how your hair responds to heavier oils, what if your hair reacts well to one oil but not the other? My hair loves olive oil but becomes dry and straw-like when I apply coconut oil, but that could be because it solidifies? I live in the UK and 3/4 of the year the temperature is low enough to solidify the oil. Could this be a factor or is it porosity?

    How many times should I comb my hair?

    • @HealthyAfroHair
      @HealthyAfroHair  3 года назад +1

      As often as needed. I don’t comb my hair daily, but mainly on washday. But sometimes I’ll lightly finger detangle in the week (if need be) to ease up any knots or tangles, so it’s not too bad come washday.

    The title says "short natural hair" but your hair isn't short, more like medium length. 😊 It looks very healthy so your regimen is working. Great job! 👍🏾

      +Hadassah L Thank you! I’m so used to referring to my hair as being short
      (since doing the big chop) that I forget it’s been growing over the months. It’s the shrinkage that fools me 😁 But I’ll remember it for next time, thanks.
