Here I am almost 3 years later to the day, sitting here with my 6D MKII in-hand; sitting through this entire video. Taking notes, re-winding, and pausing. Great way to spend an hour and a half! Thanks!
I just bought this camera a few days ago, and even though I don't have a lens, I watched every second of this video. I never watched a video that had so many self-plugs, and every single one of them was totally warranted. I will be coming back to this video and visiting your website many times.
Extremely good T&C presentation. I just added 6DMII to my Arsenal. Canon provide 2 online manuals (available to download on Canon website). One is 610 pages long (the main manual). The other (for wireless communication) is 170 pages long. This video basically saved you a whole year of reading. Well done to the good guys. And if you haven't yet bought SDP, do so fast.

I think tutorials like this one is where Tony really shines, his knowledge, good mood, and teaching skills all come together. As a long time teacher myself I would prefer if he also polished out the last remnants of sarcastic remarks (such as the one about the 1980's lcd screen, that's not beneficial to those who already purchased the camera) But, that would be nitpicking, I think Tony excels in his tutorials, it takes a lot to be this good! Bravo!
Yes Tony is pretty good at presenting difficult ideas in a clear and easy to understand form. - BTW a piece of tape for the problem you mentioned, might change his world.
This is one of the best videos for anyone who bought a Canon 6d MKII. I upgraded and bought some good glass and in the last couple of years some other great cameras have been released. I like the weight of my 6dII and bought a Sony Alpha 7III with a new 24-105 lens and a metabones V for traveling. So I can use two systems and pretty happy. On black Friday got a get deal on a Canon 5DS-R so I can take 50 mega pixel or crop some landscape photos (half price from 2015). Having more options on site allows me to take some time lapse photos with my 6dII, great landscapes with the 5-Dsr and the Sony gives me the option for high dynamic range. With good Lee filters I'm set to take some great large format photos. Looking forward to take some great captures over the New Year period. Have recently updated your digital book, great work. I started with 2X2 format film camera Yoshica-d; have come a ling day in the last 50 years. These You-Tube videos are very informative for buying new gear and finding new ways to capture great photos. Keep up the good work...
I watched one of his tutorials BEFORE buying the camera I was interested in. After seeing what it is, I went and bought it. I find these tutorials very useful even if you DON'T have this particular model lol
this is the first video in years I watched without doubling the speed, you made everything interesting so that to be heard clearly, thank you for all the information
Thank you Tony! I am a brand new 6D Mark II owner and you answered...literally...all my questions. Great video indeed. Now I'm gonna go buy your book as my way of saying THANKS!
My last cameras were EOS1-N's in the late 90's , I have only used an iphone for pix for the last 20 years . I'm about to purchase the 6DMk2 and get back to a real camera and this video has put me as ease . I actually took notes while watching .... Thank you for this excellent video .
Tony, I always enjoy you and your wife's videos. Just picked up a 6D Mark II, up from a 70D, which was up from a 20D, from a 35m Pentax ME Super. I am familiar with Canon, and with the 70D, the 6D Mark II was pretty familiar. Your video helped me re-confirm my knowledge of most of its features and help point out whats new for me over the 70d, without having to play with it for days to figure it out. I read a lot on the DR issue with the 6D Mark II. Considering i came from a crop sensor, this is still a huge improvement, all around. And coming from starting out on a 35mm film camera, i tend to set up my photo before i shoot more so then most people, and tend to not need to post edit as much. So my post "corrections" aren't so reliant on the cameras DR abilities. Again, thanks for taking the time to shoot this video, and you still did it, regardless of your less than enthusiastic opinion of the 6D Mark II. I picked up a 70-200 2.8 IS II, and im blown away by this lens and a Full Frame sensor.
I was on the fence about buying this camera, but partly because of this tutorial, I’m sold. I’m going to buy one and then I’m going to watch it again. Awesome tutorial.
I'm in the middle of trying to make a video editing deadline, yet I still watched this whole thing, because I'm shooting with the 6DII on Thursday. Now I feel like I've owned the camera for weeks. Thanks...your videos NEVER disappoint.
This is "THE BEST" video - PERIOD! I bought the book in gratitude for all of you and Chelsea's help with your great and informative videos. Cheers, mate!
This was simply an amazing video!!! I just purchased a 6D Mark ii to replace my 40D. After watching this, Ive never felt to confident going out shooting. Thank you for all the very useful information!!!
late comment... but is there anyway to map the 'take a pic' button so instead of taking a photo, it takes video? im surprised even in video mode, you still have to use that small button in the back to start recording video instead of using the 'shutter' button
Tony you are the *BEST online teacher* I have seen. I wish i could rise my game enough to have a meetup with you ! You and chelsea are doing **insert a fantabulous word** JOB!
Tony, thank you for such a detailed and super informative video on my new 6D MKii. I was using the original 6D and had a pretty good idea already of how to use it, but the information you presented was very helpful. I am a bit surprised at your enthusiasm for this camera since you panned it for it's "lack" of Dynamic Range and 4K video, but for someone who has been photographing for well over 30 years, and just came into the digital age just over two years ago, this camera does just fine for me. I make sure to expose as best as I can in camera anyway so if there are any flaws with the system, I can reduce or eliminate them with slight changes in post. Overall, though, I do appreciate you putting together this video as a companion to your books (I did by SDP by the way, great book!), so I trust what you have said here of course. Thanks again and keep up the good work!
Have I ever seen such a comprehensive video! -Very helpful for my new Canon 6D Mark 2. Thank you very much. One thing I was hoping to find is type of remote shutter trigger. Anyone know which model fit to this camera?
January 2023 and looking at this video. Still good and so helpful especially as my wife and I are just getting started in photography and got this camera. Great content and easy to follow big thanks!
I finally had an opportunity to purchase a used 6D Mark II. This video was immensely helpful. Thanks. The section on lenses was particularly useful. I will order the book!
Tony / Chelsea.... You are a great teacher and camera equipment reviewer. I learned a lot so far. - Why don't you like "the 1980's Led display" at the top? I Love it. If you don't like it, may I suggest that you put some tape over it... Problem solved.
For me, I think the biggest difference from the original 6D to the 6D Mark II(besides the articulated rear screen) is the AF system. Canon has added a new button located next to the shutter button to cycle through the various AF modes, and these modes can be added or removed via Menu, C.Fn II: Autofocus, page/subsection 8. I have only enabled Spot AF, 1 pt AF, and Zone AF. I have found the Large Zone AF and Auto selection AF to be useless. By only enabling certain modes, it is much quicker to cycle between the ones you use the most via this new AF selection button. Thanks for the video :-)
After using this camera for a month I must say that this would have been helpful for me when switching from the 70D. I appreciate you and your wife for making these videos that I find to be very helpful when making lens buying choices and also camera settings. I purchased the new Tamron 24-70 g2 and I am looking forward to your review.
I am thinking the same - I have couple L lenses that really cannot perform fully on the APS body. According to DXOmark I would get almost double P-MP out of them on a 6D (they don't have the 6D2 yet). I know I could get better results by jumping brand but I am lazy. And I could get a used 5D3 but I love the tilt screen. So while I feel like this camera is a disappointment for what it could (should) have been, it still makes sense for me and my situation. Maybe I'll rent it for couple weeks to see and then make the decision.
Jan Strojil as a another commenter said my lenses are really shining now. I traded out a few apc lenses to afford what I wanted. So I have the Tamron 24-70 G2 as well as the 70-200 G2 and of course the cheap nifty 50. I love the quality that I am getting out of the camera. My focus speed is way better than before with my 50mm. This camera has made it hard to go back to an apsc camera. The difference really has been like night and day for low light shooting. Because of the dr issue i have also been made to shoot with the proper exposure which has only made me a better shooter.
Thank you. One thing that is holding me back is the fact that all the focus points seem to be crammed in the middle. How much of an issue is that? I mostly shoot with the center one, but I do like to use the outliers for off center pictures of my kids.
I just bought this camera (it finally got a reasonable price point) as a companion to my venerable 5dMk2. This video was extremely helpful it doing the setup and learning the new features. I had waited for the Canon mirrorless options ... and was unenthused when they came out. I figure by the time Canon markets the camera they could already make today, but won't, I'll be deceased. So, I took a steal of a deal the 6dMk2. Thanks for this tutorial - it was a yeoman's piece of work.
Me as well... having a EOS 70D... I like it because the EF lenses fit on both.. and the battery is the same. IMO, mirrorless is not 'there' yet.... plus the lens incompatibility factor is not an incentive to switch.
This is very good, just got the camera last week.. (I am not chasing best new technology, got 6d mark 2 for a very good price) Happy to work around DR limitations etc...at least i can get good glass now. Thank you Tony.
Thank you Tony! I know this camera gets some bad reviews, but I get outstanding pictures with my EF lenses. I got it on sale for less than $1000 brand new. I know that I probably should be heading towards mirrorless, but I like a camera that is NOT so much like a computer and feels solid in my hands. Of course, I own more than one camera ( a mirrorless) and do not take this along for travel.
ive purchased two different video classes. I like them both but wish i'd found Tony first. .. Great and more infor than i have had precious with a great delivery . If there is a paid class WITHOUT THe commercials and plugs. Id purchase it
Hi Tony, watched your video on the Canon 6D MII. Very complete and informative. I use mine for astrophotography mostly and more recently for imaging Comet 2023 A3 Tsuchinshan-ATLAS. I was wondering if there was a way to use the preview to see what the exposure will look like as I cycle through exposure and ISO settings. Tried doing that but it didn't seem to change what I was seeing in the preview. Thanks for any thoughts you might have.
I know very well Canon cameras, but I will watch this one whole because I just bought a 6D Mk II and it's coming through mail. It will be my first full frame.
OK, I am a little late to the 6D Mark II but I just bought a new one to play with as a diversion from the Nikon D850. Only have a 50mm f1.4 lens and am going to try to keep it that way but the digital back was pretty new to me and your video was simply excellent to get me up to speed ( I hate reading the manuals). Thanks as always for such great content.
people in those days are hurry up to comment especially in camera they dont own! and people that got 6DmkII afraid tto comments that they actually love it! so u got Super Like! :)
Thank you Tony, you have helped me a lot in starting to get to know my camera 6D. I could´nt by myself to see all possibilities of this camera. Now I have already got many pictures and go on with this.
This is an outstanding tutorial. My new camera arrived earlier today and I've been watching this video all the way through. Will watch it again as I'm sure I will have missed things.
Oh my word! I do that all the time with their posts. I'll sit through an entire review of a camera that i don't even own or plan on buying. I always learn a lot though.
THANK YOU for the time stamps! I was able to easily find what I was looking for and get moving! I know it takes a lot of extra editing time and attention to make that available. Much appreciated!
Hello sir please let tell me how can i use 6d mark ii for my low budget feature film with cinema lenses(for theatrical purpose). Waiting eagerly for your reply.
just bought one for stills. The video looks soft compared to my Panasonic FZ2500. I didn't think the video would be spectacular since this is an older and less loaded model.
I truly enjoyed the video as I have just purchased the 6D MII and you have helped me to learn a lot so far. I will watch again. It did seem like there were a lot of ads and propaganda for your own website sales in there though. I understand you need to make money but it was a bit much. I thank you though for the thorough information. There was so much that I think I will need to watch some segments a few times until I have learned it all.
Hi Tony I just found this video and has saved me a ton of reading period. I just bought 6D mark ii after using Rebel for years. This is an unreal camera for an prosumer user as myself. So many options to get the shot wow loving it. Your smooth explanations of the settings are done very well and clear. I will need to check out your site and the teaching materials you. Thanks for giving a freebie out to get users started appreciate it. Regards Mark
Grabbed one of these during the black friday sales. This video was crazy helpful, not to mention time saving. I think I have no choice but to read your book and watch some more videos. Thanks!
In bulb timer settings they should also have an available option to have at the very least a 2 second delay to cut down on shake. Now the only way I can come up with a shutter delay is to go to the hassle of attaching an intervalometer.
Nice tutorial Tony. I had this camera for two weeks. Sold it because I was unsatisfied with IQ. I had better results with my old 5D mkII. AF points were cramped in the middle of the frame and really didn't make good use of them. It's good beginner FF camera though.
thank you guys for this video. I have recently upgraded from a 60D to the 6DMKII and I love it. I was very shaken by your previous review and all the internet chatter about this camera. quite frankly I own the 6d2, love they way it performs, (again coming from a 60D here) but I still view it with great skepticism which is unfortunate for the money spent. as an amateur I was not willing to got through selling my canon kit and jumping brands because over the years I have bought good glass in prep for the full frame upgrade when it came. I'm looking forward to using this camera as an amateur and if I make the jump to pro I feel it will hold its own until I can afford a mk4 or to buy an 850 and lenses. as alway I appreciate what you guys do as educators love the book and look forward to more content.
I had been on the fence buying the 6D MKII and the EOS R.. while sure I want the EOS R sooo bad.. but budget has kept me from making the jump.. Right now.. I have the 5D MKII.. and while I still get shots that impress others, I do feel like I'm pushing it to it's limits.. and have been wanting an upgrade.. something with a better focusing system, dual pixel auto focus, a flip screen. Etc.. Why I bought the 6D MKII instead: Canon's site had the 6D MKII factory refurbished for $880 That pushed me over the fence and I just ordered it yesterday. Such a great deal on that camera. And because it's factory refurbished it's pretty much a new camera with a 1 yr manufacturer warranty. It hits most of my marks.. I'll buy the EOS R within a year. I'm confident that the 6D MKII will serve me well. I know Sony has lots of great options.. but $880 for the 6D MKII is a solid price. I'm surprised you didn't suggest any Tamron glass
Thanks for this very detailed review. After my experiences talking with people, there is no question that they should watch these kinds of videos as part of their pre-buying research. DSLR's can be very expensive, and people should do more homework to prevent buyer's remorse that results from a lack of thinking when it comes to personal needs. Expensive learning. I was in the market for a full frame like the Mark II, and Tony is right that there are shortcomings to this body (ie: dynamic range). That's why it's not a $3,000.000 DSLR. The price of the Mark II has come down quite a bit as a result of many negative reviews, and there are several promotions going on to clear initial inventories. At some point, I would expect an expedited replacement (Mark III) with some upgrades - but if this body keeps going down in price, it will become a good buy. Canon, from a marketing standpoint, had to be careful in positioning the features of this camera vs its 5D full frame - obviously you don't want an entry level full frame eating into the 5D category and its high profit margins. But Nikon isn't waiting, either. With camera body upgrades coming fast and furious, many current, original 6D owners have decided to wait for the next 6D version, as their existing older bodies are doing just fine and producing great pictures because: they read the owner's manual thoroughly a couple times; they practised using the camera's many features to understand how they work; they perfected their techniques knowing how best to use the features, and; they focused on the results rather than just the technology. If you don't really need an entry level full frame all that urgently, wait for the inevitable price declines to get the best pricing. In the meantime, use some of your $$ for the better long term investment - L series lenses. Your 6D (whatever version) will love them !!
I have just ordered the Canon EOS 60D from eBay. I have watched your video twice and can't wait to initiate all the settings you have suggested. Thanks for the great tutorial. Living in Thailand, I am interested in outdoor photography. My camera comes with 3 lenses. 1) CANON EF-S IMAGE-STABILIZATION ZOOM LENS 58mm 1:35-5.6 is series II 2) NEEWER 58mm WIDE-ANGLE 0.42X ATTACHMENT LENS 3 )NEEWER 58mm MACRO >0.25/0.8FT- 0.125/0.4f/t ATTACHMENT LENS Can you suggest any other lenses that might be useful to me?
After watching complete video which is awesome, and after making adjustments on my camera I now have the following showing in my iso window, D+. What does this mean??? Susan
hi Tonny, thanks for your grete videos concerning canon and olympus!know I have a request to yo.. . . . can you please suggest external mics fo olypus omd mkii as well as forCanon 6D Mark 2? it shall be so kindfull
Thank you for this wonderful video. I just bought a 6D mark ii, because I can't afford to buy 5d Mark iv :-) I become very comfortable with my camera after watching this video.
i want a camera with a faster auto focus and great in low light and i'm happy. i take wonderful pictures but i have to ask you this question do you use auto focus or manual mode when you're taking your pictures? and since it's a full frame camera which lens do you use for your camera i like what i see i wanted the canon 6d but somebody said the mark 2 is the better one
I’m a fan, have bought a couple of your publications and grew my knowledge and skills. Now that I’ve moved to a full frame camera finding advanced options, features etc. I came to Toby - here are teaching aperture, DOF etc. basic photography 101. Is there an advanced 6D feature explained, how to, when to...
Sorry, Tony, but there is one AF tuning adjustment that I recommend everyone make who uses AI Servo mode. Change 1st and 2nd Image Priority to full Focus Priority, instead of Shutter Priority. I see no point in firing the shutter if AF has not locked.
Thank you Tony, your video just saved me from reading my cameras 300 pages manual, you are a good teacher, great videos (sound and images) to walk us through. Going to order your book, I need to support your business and I'm sure it has tons of information I need to refresh my memory. Last but not least, Happy 2018
Hi Tony @ Chelsea Thanks for all your very helpful video's . Can you please help me out I just bought a canon 6Dmk11 and I am trying to use my Canon 430 EX11 speedlite remotely but cannot get them to work .I was told if I got a yongnuo YN- E3-RT and a yongnuo YNE3-RX that would work I got both but I still cannot get them to work what should my camera setting be looking forward to your reply Tim
Enjoyed these tips. Made some value add setting adjustments that I was unfamiliar with. Wish I had a larger glass budget. But I suppose most of us do. I just bought the Mark II in 2021 to give you an idea of this hobbyists hardware budget. A really nice upgrade from my 10yr old rebel which produced some decent images. Thank you for sharing.
Hi Tony Would you recommend the 6dmk.II for wildlife photography? I shoot mainly landscape but lately I've been shooting a lot of birds with the canon 400mm 5.6 and Tamron 150-600 G2 on my 6d mk.I. I could really use a higher FPS and better focus system. I have also considered the 5d mk.III but it's an older camera with no flippy screen for those landscape lowshots. Then there's the crop cams 80d and 7d mk.II... I was thinking that I would get an all in one camera with the 6d mk.II or should I hang on to the mk. I and go for one of the crop cams? Your opinion will be much appreciated.
He will never answer your questions. I would say full frame is not ideal for birds, as I can tell you the crop factor of a crop camera does a lot for your 400mm f 5.6. Now, the 6d’s articulated screen and tap focus in live view will do wonders for your ground shooting of shore guess for instance. I used my 70d this way and I miss it dearly. It’s really a toss up, but you can’t go very wrong with this. If it were my only camera and were shooting birds, it would be a 7d Mark II. I use the older 1d mark IV and it works great for me still. Good luck!! I am getting this camera tomorrow actually. Mostly for landscapes and macro.
@@thomasreedy4751 Well IMO Tony has a point. Video capabilities are lacking. But it's not just Canon. All camera manufacturers have led the customers down a primrose path - and say that their cameras are 'Pro'.... Taking a step back and thinking about it... this is true for still pictures... Pics come out beautiful, esp with the 6D Mark II. But saying that they create Pro level videos is a stretch... a huge stretch. Pro level videos is... well just ask the people who make movies, commercials, etc for TV and the big screen... B&H Photo sells Pro level video cameras... they start at $44,000.00 (that is not a typo).
Tony, this is exactly what I was looking for as a new 6D2 owner that came from a very basic crop sensor camera. Just wanted to say thanks for making this great video. WELL WORTH the watch!
Tony do you have your Canon cameras setup with the AF-ON button and the (*) button both setup for focusing? I have my 7d2 setup with the AF-ON as '65pt, AF-Servo' and the (*) setup as 'single point, single shot'. I found this to be fantastic for birds that are perched , to when they take off. Easy switching.
Regarding video quality: I checked the settings was limited to 50fps or 25fps until I found in a completely unrelated place in the menu system that switched movie recording from PAL to NTSC. Then 60 (or 59.9) fps and 30 (29.9) fps are available. Regarding your 6Dmk2 review: I checked DXOMark for the dynamic range of this camera and the 7Dmk2 & 750D. They are all within 0.1EV of each other, with the 750D at 12EV, the 6Dmk2 at 11.9 and the 7Dmk2 at 11.8. So there isn't a lot between them. I have used the 7Dmk2 extensively over the last year or so, which is capable of some superb images, so the dynamic range can't be that bad. Could be better perhaps but OK-ish, and maybe you'd expect the newer 6Dmk2 to wipe the floor with the other two, but then there'd be no point in anyone buying the 5Dmk4! I also love the Olympus Micro 4/3 system, but given that ISO 200 is more like 800 on full frame (I've been reading your Buying Guide!) I find it hard to understand why you'd recommend the OMD EM1mk2 to beginners. Yeah you can fudge it into giving noiseless 80MP images but only if absolutely nothing moves during the image stacking process. The dynamic range of the EM-1mk2 is 12.8EV but surely the noise at higher ISOs than 200 compared to full frame or APS-C kind of negates the higher dynamic range, as recovered shadows will be noisier. In the long run, the huge range of Canon/Sigma/Tamron lenses esp the pro ones, count in favour of buying full frame. And the 6Dmk2 is cheaper than a new D850 and has the touchscreen tilty-flippy screen and Wi-Fi/GPS that are lacking on the D750 (which I would consider the 6Dmk2's nearest competitor.)
Would you suggest 6d or 6d Mark II? What are pros of each and cons and which one would you choose? Right now 6d is 999.99USD And 6D Mark II is 1899.99. I’d love to hear your advice because I noticed how unbiased your reviews are please let me know! And what you think is better for a trip which is mainly family pictures and beach/mountain landscapes 50mm 1.8 or 40mm 2.8? Any other lens suggestions
Great info thank you. Im trying to take videos and to uploading to Tik Tok but they all come out small on the phone and not full screen. Is there a way around this? Thanks
had my camera in hand and you made me fall in love with my camera! I couldn't find anything about this on youtube except here! long story short, subscribed and liked! keep it up
Here I am almost 3 years later to the day, sitting here with my 6D MKII in-hand; sitting through this entire video. Taking notes, re-winding, and pausing. Great way to spend an hour and a half! Thanks!
I've been thinking of buying that model. Looks great....similar layout to my 80D but full frame

An excellent video. After owning my camera for over a year, I'm amazed at how much more I learned! Thanks, Tony.
I finished the whole video finally......over a period of 5 days. Well spent. Thank you, Tony.
I watched one of his tutorials BEFORE buying the camera I was interested in. After seeing what it is, I went and bought it. I find these tutorials very useful even if you DON'T have this particular model lol
Thank you so much for this video. I just received my 6D Mark II today and this was so helpful. I'm not a newb but this is my first full frame Canon.

any regrets getting it or are you happy with it?
Ok

So much more fun to watch this instead of reading the whole manual! Thank you so so much!
Thank you for the tutorial sir but why does your camera has 6o fps while my same camera has 50fps
Tony you are the *BEST online teacher* I have seen. I wish i could rise my game enough to have a meetup with you ! You and chelsea are doing **insert a fantabulous word** JOB!
I will one day tony. ONE DAY
Tony, thank you for such a detailed and super informative video on my new 6D MKii.
Super Tony, KUDOS, you are the BEST in the business. Thousand times better than those useless CANON USA videos, only explanation and no demonstration.
Tony / Chelsea.... You are a great teacher and camera equipment reviewer. I learned a lot so far.
- Why don't you like "the 1980's Led display" at the top? I Love it. If you don't like it, may I suggest that you put some tape over it... Problem solved.
Great video, I have been using my camera for almost a year, I still learned a lot of features from this video. Thank you
This video is making me want this camera even more. thanks for being so detailed.
I just traded up to the 6D Mll...this tutorial was excellent...thank you so much! Now I am good to go!
Glad to help!
After using this camera for a month I must say that this would have been helpful for me when switching from the 70D. I appreciate you and your wife for making these videos that I find to be very helpful when making lens buying choices and also camera settings. I purchased the new Tamron 24-70 g2 and I am looking forward to your review.
I am considering switching to the 6D2 from my 60D. What is your experience so far? The reviews are a really mixed bag.
it is great, I moved from 80d and I feel significant improvement. now my lenses can shine.
You are the very best online teacher sir. I've just picked up a canon 6D mark ii and your video really came handy. .. very good sir keep it up.
I do own the 6D mkII and I love it. Thanks Tony, as usual you have increased my knowledge base. Keep it up, we love it.
people in those days are hurry up to comment especially in camera they dont own! and people that got 6DmkII afraid tto comments that they actually love it!
so u got Super Like! :)
My D6 mkii just arrived , i found this Tutorial informative and very well presented .
Just bought the canon 6D mark ii, i have learned a lot from this video
Just bought mine 2 days ago
Thank you Tony, you have helped me a lot in starting to get to know my camera 6D. I could´nt by myself
to see all possibilities of this camera. Now I have already got many pictures and go on with this.
This is an outstanding tutorial. My new camera arrived earlier today and I've been watching this video all the way through. Will watch it again as I'm sure I will have missed things.
Tony: ...You don’t have to watch the whole thing...
Me: watches whole thing
Also me: doesn’t own the 6D MkII
reviewing the picture !!, the part that i dont understand now i understand lol
Only because I love you, Justin ;)
Im not alone , gawd ! ;P
This camera is in my bucket list of upgrades
Oh my word! I do that all the time with their posts. I'll sit through an entire review of a camera that i don't even own or plan on buying. I always learn a lot though.
haha everyone did at some time and trust me its worth it... I finally got this camera and I am here again doing the same...
THANK YOU for the time stamps! I was able to easily find what I was looking for and get moving! I know it takes a lot of extra editing time and attention to make that available. Much appreciated!
Nice presentation and good stuff
May I know the type of back screen ?
Hello sir please let tell me how can i use 6d mark ii for my low budget feature film with cinema lenses(for theatrical purpose). Waiting eagerly for your reply.
Hi....Tony... I love your work on you tube. I have been learning many things from your classes. Thanks Tony...
just bought one for stills.
Thank you for all the info! How do you take a selfie? I couldn't figure out how you got the camera to face you in live view mode. Thank you!
Hi Mr Tony. This tutorials really helped a lot. Thanks. but you did not talk about the double exposure.
Thank you Tony. Spent a weeks free time watching about the EOS 6d 2. Think I'm sold.
Enjoy it!
Regards
Mark
I learned more about my camera under this 1.5h then I have done in 1.5 years using it, THANKS
thank you so much for your video, this has helped me a lot to understand all the settings in the camera.
I just bought a 6D mark II my first FF and this video is handy thanks Tony!!!!
You're welcome! Enjoy!
thank you guys for this video.
Very nice video mate. You can call Quick Menu over Q Button. I think that is what it means.
Etc..
Why I bought the 6D MKII instead:
Canon's site had the 6D MKII factory refurbished for $880
That pushed me over the fence and I just ordered it yesterday.
That was an excellent deal, maybe even a lucky mistake. Currently the price for refurbished is $1259 on the Canon website.
@@derekfazakas I called them and they said that the deal expires on the 12th.. I ordered it on the 10th..
I jumped on it..
Thank you Tony and Chelsea
Amazing tutorial, thank you! 🙏. I was so daunted by the manual that came with my new camera Canon should give you a commission!
1) CANON EF-S IMAGE-STABILIZATION ZOOM LENS 58mm 1:35-5.6 is series II
2) NEEWER 58mm WIDE-ANGLE 0.42X ATTACHMENT LENS
3 )NEEWER 58mm MACRO >0.25/0.8FT- 0.125/0.4f/t ATTACHMENT LENS
Can you suggest any other lenses that might be useful to me?
I'm so glad I chose this camera to replace my T6i. It is amazing.
After watching complete video which is awesome, and after making adjustments on my camera I now have the following showing in my iso window, D+. What does this mean??? Susan
I should have this camera in my hands tomorrow! I will probably watch this over and over all night tonite!! :)
hi Tonny, thanks for your grete videos concerning canon and olympus!know I have a request to yo.. . . . can you please suggest external mics fo olypus omd mkii as well as forCanon 6D Mark 2?
it shall be so kindfull
Here I’m . It’s October 2024 . I love it.
Thank you for this wonderful video. I just bought a 6D mark ii, because I can't afford to buy 5d Mark iv :-)
I become very comfortable with my camera after watching this video.
Hi - great tutorial. The video menu looks different than mine - same camera. For example the part where you set number of shots.
I have to agree on generic batteries I have a couple for my Canon and the two of them last the time of the genuine Canon battery.
i want a camera with a faster auto focus and great in low light and i'm happy. i take wonderful pictures but i have to ask you this question do you use auto focus or manual mode when you're taking your pictures? and since it's a full frame camera which lens do you use for your camera i like what i see i wanted the canon 6d but somebody said the mark 2 is the better one
Fantastic tutorial - as are all your videos, Tony. Thank you. Please make a second video for all the fancy settings on the Canon 6Dmkll
Great info. The price of a 6d mark 2 have really dropped after the CES show. Your work here is appreciated.
Sorry, Tony, but there is one AF tuning adjustment that I recommend everyone make who uses AI Servo mode. Change 1st and 2nd Image Priority to full Focus Priority, instead of Shutter Priority. I see no point in firing the shutter if AF has not locked.
This is my 6D MkII Bible. Thank you!
Can you please help me out I just bought a canon 6Dmk11 and I am trying to use my Canon 430 EX11 speedlite remotely but cannot get them to work .I
was told if I got a yongnuo YN- E3-RT and a yongnuo YNE3-RX that would work I got both but I still cannot get them to work what should my camera setting be looking forward to your reply Tim
Hi Tony
Would you recommend the 6dmk.II for wildlife photography?
He said in his previous video that the 6d mark 2 basically sucks and you should sell all of your cannon lenses and buy sony.
So my guess is no.
B&H Photo sells Pro level video cameras... they start at $44,000.00 (that is not a typo).
very nice video....Question???? can the sharpness could be change on the Menu????
Tony, this is exactly what I was looking for as a new 6D2 owner that came from a very basic crop sensor camera. Just wanted to say thanks for making this great video. WELL WORTH the watch!
Thanks so much for taking the time to make these videos for us!
Great tutorial! just got 6d mark ii, and can't be happy enough that i didn't choose 5d mark iii! thanks for the great video!
Hi, a little new to this. Was wondering if you could tell me what settings I should use for video, for the best results on this camera. Thanks!
I came in searching for quick tutorial but you're explaining it all so well, that I watched even parts I already knew
i was so nervous about dynamic range but this video took my thoughts away BRACKETING))) thanks Tony
Great info thank you.
Im trying to take videos and to uploading to Tik Tok but they all come out small on the phone and not full screen.
Is there a way around this? Thanks
had my camera in hand and you made me fall in love with my camera! I couldn't find anything about this on youtube except here! long story short, subscribed and liked! keep it up
THANK YOU!!! Freaking awesome video, helped me out a lot when I bought my new 6D Mark ll
