What a comprehensive guidance one could ever deliver free of charge. So organised on what is being told with extreme professionalism. Thanks lot. Great. Probably the best I read on YT
This is such an amazing course! As a beginner, I've already done like 3 of these free youtube courses and still wasn't satisfied with my images. After doing this one, I realised what was happening... Everyone was teaching the details of using a camera, but nobody was teaching how to actually take good photos and the principles of good photography. I want to say thank you! I have ADHD and have a learning disability. I sometimes have a hard time grasping and retaining information. I recently got into pbotography and trying to learn. After watching your lesson about composition and rule of 3rds, I was able to grasp and understand it. It is your using images and talking to explain. Im a visual learner. I look forward to more lessons.😊👍
Oh my gosh, thank you for your honest comment. It resonated with me (I also have ADHD), and you have made me feel so much better and not so alone. Thank you!
I also was diagnosed ADHD. I am a hands on learner. I watch and rewatch. Chris helped me in my hobby so much. I have owned about eight cameras over twelve years including two EOS. My current main camera is a T7. Until Chris I always felt lost.
Wow looks like I'm in good company here, I all so am ( add, adhd, dyslexic) but my grandpa said I had ants in my pants, if my mom used a switch to dust my pants, the ants would leave and I would settle down. She tried many times to dust them a way, I'm now 59 and their still here, I don't settle down for long, so this is a great way for me to learn, my dad said never stop learning, when you do you start dieing. Thank you so much !!! New subscriber here 😃
Yeah, I agree. I am a complete noob and wanted to take up photography for fun and as a hobby. I feel like this lesson gave me a fantastic jumping-off point and I'm not longer intimidated by the camera I just bought. I honestly don't understand all the dislikes.
The more I watch the more I watch. I am a 40 year veteran of photography and this is so refreshing, and you teaching style is something special, I am going to watch all of your videos! My goodness I keep waiting for the catch for the money grab! Thank you a million times
my first impression : oh no... 2 and half hours... I probably won't watch this. me 10 mins into the lessons : grab my camera and start practicing. this is the best free photography lesson ever IMO. the lessons are very constructive. thank you for publishing this
The way he creates a character out of the camera is so nice and cute, hahahah. "What about 5.6?" (Talking aboute aperture) and at 1:51:23 "geez... its quite dark out there" . I cant help but smiling at those sentences
I couldn’t thank you enough for this amazing course that covered so much in the photography world. This video is a must for every beginner. thanks again.
This was by far the most comprehensive and easily understood lesson on basic photography I have ever seen. I’m just learning and quite honestly have been frustrated with the wide array of instructional videos and paid courses. So many different opinions on what is important and what is not. Chris has done an excellent job of explaining the basics in a way that is easily understood by someone with no experience. He has made the field of photography and learning process far less intimidating.
Who said that the best things in life are not free? This is an awesome informative no-frills course, Free, and better than some paid courses I took that left me perplexed and dared not ask questions because I didn't want to sound stupid. Can't thank you enough.
There are probably thousands of videos on photography on youtube but when I need to know "what was that thing again?" I still come to this video. God bless you. This is great content and it's free too!! Chris Bray, I will remember this name.
Thanks Chris, this is the best time for anyone even remotely interested in photography to spend on RUclips. Many thanks for not only imparting your photography knowledge but also for sharing with us how to talk/teach about a subject - about which you are very knowledgeable. You distilled it down for us to the most important things and explained so eloquently with excellent supporting imagery - my hats off and you have my gratitude!
Thanks! I am very new to photography and have been watching countless videos and getting lost going down rabbit holes. This is by far the most informative, practical, comprehensive and concise video I've come across. I will definitely be bookmarking this one to go over some of the concepts again later. Thank you Chris. This must have taken much more than 2 and a half hours to put together. Not even counting your years of experience. Thanks for gifting this to the world. I am now ready to go out and get creative!!!🙂
I have gained knowledge for free in 2 hours and 24 minutes, a feat I haven't achieved after spending significant time and money on courses that were not of value. Thank you greatly, Chris. You are an excellent teacher.
can we appreciate this is free btw. and that these things are by far some of the best tips and tricks and examples and quality editing of the whole video!!!
The absolute best two and a half hours that the Internet has provided. Excellent presentation and so much education in their. Had me locked in from the start. Brilliant work, and thank you.
Somebody needs to phone TIMES magazine, we've found 2020 person of the year! I'll recommend your channel to my brother who also loves photography and a few friends I know
For someone to take the time and energy to put so much information on the internet for the world to learn from (for free) shows your love for the art and the desire to help others. Thanks so much Chris. I am new to this and have eagerly been looking for a way to start and you have given it to me. I can't wait to get my Lumix G-9 clicking away!!
Great job! I’ve been an amateur photographer for over 40 years and this video was a really good refresher for me. I also learned more than a thing or two. Thank you for creating this brilliant course.
Best no nonsense photo course I've found. I began my photographing around 1970 and first now got up to speed with retirement. Thank you Chris Bray. I recommend your work to everyone. Happy picturing.
I have been following Chris for just over 18mths / 2yrs and my photography has improved ten-fold, simply by studying this course. His guidelines and tips 'made simple' have not only improved my shots, but has improved my love of the art. Due to this, I have changed my entire equipment to now a full-frame camera, multiple high-end lenses and was asked by a family member to shoot their wedding in sunny Portugal last August. I credit the wonderful resulting photographs down to one person - Chris Bray. Since then I have actually sold - yes sold (!) one of my photographs when trekking around Europe!! Despite being a published author who enjoys nothing more than creating a dark story of the macabre, I am delighted to have discovered a new craft which is bringing me just as much joy. Thanks Chris, your photography is amazing and the understanding and tutoring you provide is equally as impressive.
Thank you! You interpret the photographic elements the best, I have seen so far. It makes all the rules of photography much more obvious and intuitive and thus much easy to follow.
I browsed all over youtube, Instagram, facebook.. And i finally came across your video.. its very simple to understand , very informative, very knowledgeable for beginners like me and its for free Thanks a lot for your effort
I just finished my master's in filmmaking and this 2½ hour video taught me more than I learned in the past two years. I can't thank you enough! I bought your app from the playstore too! ❤️
Chris!! You are a total star, mate. The entire course is structured and explained so beautifully. Your session on understanding Aperture is masterful. Much appreciated. Thank you so much.
I have learnt so much watching this course, wow! I am so grateful that there are people who are willing to share their expertise (for free) to help others learn. 2.5 hours very well spent
Can’t explain how much have beee benefited from such tutorials to come this far in photography when I was struggling. There are not many people out there who enthusiastically help beginners, however there are people like him. Thank you!
First off, I want to say two things: Wow!! and THANK YOU! Master Bray you are an awesome communicator, a gifted photographer, and I would wager, a great human being. I say that last because anyone who uses paw prints in their logo is bound to be the right kind of person. I got so much more out of this 2:24:15 than I have from all the other courses, seminars and classes I have taken I can't even express it. And, as a bonus, you don't come across as a photography snob. You get my ultimate compliment "I think you'd be a great next door neighbor!"
Wow, I learn so much from your tutorials each time I view them. My understanding has become better. You cover everything with such wonderful detail. Point is. Your tutorials are spot on! Thank you for taking the time to share so much info. and knowledge. You make it easy and clearly to understand photography.
Thanks for sharing your knowledge, Chris! For me, personally, this course is by far the easiest-to-understand lecture of this kind on RUclips! I appreciate what you do for amateur/enthusiast photographers like me. More power to you!
Of all the lessons ive watched, this by far the most coherent and beginner friendly im not even kidding. The other videos are confusing (lots of tangents) and assumes viewers understand what they're saying in term of throwing out different information. Also, the examples presented in each topic is very helpful to actually show the visualization of what you're explaining
You were born to teach! Thank you so so so much!! I could listen to you all day long talking about photography. Im about to get my 1st camera (thinking about a Sony A7C) after years of cellphone photografy. Greetings from Argentina!
I have been doing photography since I was 16. I am 52 now. Sony is a Great system but expensive way to go for photography. I have Sony, nikon, and Canon. If you plan on just vlogging, portrait and weddings, I say Canon. Sports and portraits go Sony. landscape, sports, portraits, astrology, weddings, go Nikon or Fuji. Look closely at fuji. Great camera especially for the price. My friend has one. I have been really amazed. Here's advice. Photography is very expensive. Your phone is very misleading compared to a camera. I know you see photographs on the internet by photographers all the time. They shoot the camera in manual operation. Like my nikon d810 does not have automatic, so you just point and shoot and the camera does everything. Photography is about mastering light. I suggest by a used camera and good lens and practice. It's not how good the camera is, it's the quality of output. The lens. Quality lens. You don't need to buy a pro series lens to get fantastic results. Stay away from the kit lens. I talking about nikon d3000, 5000, 7000 cheap basic lens that come in a kit, Sony does the same thing with a cheap 16-50 and70- 200mm lens. Canon has the same low end kit lens as well. Just do your research,
@@leifnilsen6107 1st of all thank you so much for you really complete answer. I already got the Sony A7C with the kit lens and latter got a 90mm 2.8 G serie macro and I'm loving this lens SO much. I'm planning to get latter a wide lens but right now I'm ok with what I have and learning this art a little everyday. Let me know where I can see your work and thank you again!
Thank you! This course explained a number of things I've been struggling with as a self-taught beginner, and is exactly the jump-start I needed to pick up photography again. This must be the first online course I've done where I was actually enthused to do the homework exercises! 🙌
Some of you might think I am crazy considering I am watching this having no professional camera, just for the sake of learning the basics, but I am loving it so far!
I was watching a few videos on RUclips and came across your channel. I felt like I hit the JACKPOT! This is a FANTASTIC! Most photographers guard this information with their lives and selfishly keep it to themselves. Thankyou for sharing this information with the globe. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the videos. You sir, are a legend and a master teacher. Gotta love the Aussie way ;) 😊👍📷🇦🇺
I'm only 31 minutes in and I already feel the urge to comment! I've learned so much in this beginning portion already. I love how you make everything so simple, you explain everything brilliantly. I love the use of graphics and picture examples too. Thank you for making this!
I cannot recommend this course highly enough. Chris is such a natural teacher getting the information across clearly in a well thought out and logical way. Each subject is done at a measured pace so you have time to take in what he's saying without feeling rushed or losing interest. Out of all the training I've had over my many years, and in any subject, I can honestly say this has been the best. Thanks Chris.
Perfect video for beginners. You wont believe how long I have been looking for clear, concise, and easy to understand information on photography and gear. You have created an excellent video. Keep up the good work.

New subscriber here 😃
Ok, I really am amazed at 473 people who watched this and disliked it. You are a great teacher, thank you!
Some may be envious
Yeah, I agree. I am a complete noob and wanted to take up photography for fun and as a hobby. I feel like this lesson gave me a fantastic jumping-off point and I'm not longer intimidated by the camera I just bought. I honestly don't understand all the dislikes.
The 473 are those kicking themselves that they didn't do it first
No no no: They are Australians, liking the video! 🙃
The more I watch the more I watch. I am a 40 year veteran of photography and this is so refreshing, and you teaching style is something special, I am going to watch all of your videos! My goodness I keep waiting for the catch for the money grab! Thank you a million times
Haha thanks mate! =) I appreciate it,.
my first impression : oh no...
As a BEGINNER I 100% AGREE with you!

This is insane. I can’t believe it’s free. Don’t need any other beginner tutorial
This may be the greatest video I've seen on RUclips. You make learning the basics of photography way easier than others do on here.
Big call! Thanks though! =)
This is LITERALLY the most useful/helpful video on Photography I've ever watched. I've watched plenty of them too!
So glad!
THE BEST PHOTOGRAPHY COURSE BY FAR!!! THANK YOU! I LEARNED SO MUCH FROM YOU TODAY. GOD BLESS YOU 😇😊
Brilliant!!! Can’t thank u enough 🙏 from Tasmania x
my English is not good, but imagine the best thank you ever said in English to someone, this is how much I thank you.
Thanks!
Thanks for your kind words Mark. Best wishes for 2022
Ok¹❤❤
Who said that the best things in life are not free? This is an awesome informative no-frills course, Free, and better than some paid courses I took that left me perplexed and dared not ask questions because I didn't want to sound stupid. Can't thank you enough.
=)
THIS IS THE WAY TO LEARN THE PHOTOGRAPHY BASICS! You really did a great job, Chris! We all appreciate you... HG-Chicago💪

You're very welcome! It's my pleasure! 🙂 Thanks SO MUCH for your support, I really appreciate it a lot! =)

💯 agreed. I feel the same. You gave me the knowledge and confidence I needed to make my start.

Best photography video on RUclips.

Welcome!
Best no nonsense photo course I've found. I began my photographing around 1970 and first now got up to speed with retirement. Thank you Chris Bray. I recommend your work to everyone. Happy picturing.
Probably one of the best tutorials on photography ever, thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
Fantastic tuition
Many thanks
POWERFUL!
That's a supper lovely comment to read Warren! Thanks for that! =) Im so happy for you! Keep it up!!!
Thank you! You interpret the photographic elements the best, I have seen so far. It makes all the rules of photography much more obvious and intuitive and thus much easy to follow.
You're very welcome!
@@ChrisBrayPhotography hello Sir, what is the best affordable camera for beginners do you recommend?
@@muayadalqasem3270 one of the best beginners in my opinion is a Nikon D3500
Best videography tutorial, well explained with captions, titles and graphics.
Superb presenter. Says what why and how. And says if its important or not
Cheers mate!

Wow, thanks! Haha =) Stay well!
You're one of the best teachers and one of the most genuine persons I've come across in a long time. Thank you so much for this course.
Wow, thank you! that's very kind of you.
I have learnt so much watching this course, wow! I am so grateful that there are people who are willing to share their expertise (for free) to help others learn. 2.5 hours very well spent
It's my pleasure to share!
Best photography course on the internet!
Haha thanks!
Hahah what a great comment. =) Have a great 2022 mate!
Wow, I learn so much from your tutorials each time I view them. My understanding has become better. You cover everything with such wonderful detail. Point is. Your tutorials are spot on!
Thank you for taking the time to share so much info. and knowledge. You make it easy and clearly to understand photography.
Thanks Samuel! =) I appreciate it.
The best photography lesson in you tube, everything in one video..thanks a lot,
Glad you think so! Thanks for saying so!
Thanks for sharing your knowledge, Chris! For me, personally, this course is by far the easiest-to-understand lecture of this kind on RUclips! I appreciate what you do for amateur/enthusiast photographers like me. More power to you!
You're very welcome!
Absolutely Brilliant! Top tier Education. So easy to understand! A Master Class,... free of charge.
Thanks!!!
Thats lovely to read, thanks so much for taking the time to say thanks =)
You were born to teach! Thank you so so so much!! I could listen to you all day long talking about photography. Im about to get my 1st camera (thinking about a Sony A7C) after years of cellphone photografy. Greetings from Argentina!
Wow, thank you! I love the wildlife in your country! I look forward to my next visit. Thanks for saying thanks!
THANK YOU so much for these kind words and your support my friend! I really appreciate it.
Some of you might think I am crazy considering I am watching this having no professional camera, just for the sake of learning the basics, but I am loving it so far!
Go for it!
Gotta love the Aussie way ;) 😊👍📷🇦🇺
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks so much for taking time to say thanks! =) Good on you.
I'm only 31 minutes in and I already feel the urge to comment! I've learned so much in this beginning portion already. I love how you make everything so simple, you explain everything brilliantly. I love the use of graphics and picture examples too. Thank you for making this!
same lol
absolutely the best tutorial I could find so far after few months on RUclips
Great course!
The best course I have ever had in RUclips. Very clear. ❤
Happy to hear that!
Thanks so much for such a kind review! Much appreciated! =) Have a good weekend!
Perfect video for beginners. You wont believe how long I have been looking for clear, concise, and easy to understand information on photography and gear. You have created an excellent video. Keep up the good work.
Great to hear!
One of the best photography tutorials!! I always come back to this course to refresh my knowledge. appreciate your efforts to make it available for use at no cost!!
One of the most useful videos on Photography of all time..👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏
