I had the same problem with focusing. There is a focus chart to help you and you have to treat it like magic eye to align the image. It's a common problem with headsets from years ago- it's called the vergence accommodation conflict. Modern VR headsets have solved this issue, hopefully it trickles down to FPV goggles eventually. These goggles are going to cause eye strain for many people.
For putting the velcro on the plastic, I peeled off a piece of the paper at the top center and bottom nose corners so three places in total. Got them lined up and then pulled the rest off as I laid it down. The hardest part for me was pushing with like 600 lb of force to snap the faceplate onto the unit itself.
A year aho I wanted to upgrade from my box goggles, so I tried on a pair of fatshark style goggles and I had the same issue as you have, a double picture. Adjusting the ipd and focus just did nothing. So I thought I would habe to use box goggles forever. A year later I tried on the dji goggles 2 and I had the same problem, but after 5-10min of using them, I suddenly got a perfect image. So as a conclusion I‘d say that it just takes time to adjust to your pair of goggles, no matter the brand btw Nice video Thomas 🚀👍

I to had the double image issue, i thought my goggles were faulty for about 10 minutes :P I solved it by turning the diopter knobs all the way one way to maximum out of focus, and the image just joined in that moment.

I also got double images. Then I noticed that the face plate wasn't fully pushed into the googles. I guess they send it like that so you can replace the plate with the other one in case it's needed. I just pushed the included one into the googles body and it made a loud click. After readjusting diopters and ipd, no more double image.
@@sparkequinox Read the instructions where it says how to properly adjust focus and IPD using the Focus chart. That did it for me. Also try to focus on the 4:3 area only. Hope it helps.
@@miquelmarti6537 it was the not being clipped in then took about 10 minutes for my brain to adjust its perfect now. Looking down as if the display was in my hands like a phone made my brain adjust very quickly. It's fun having your brain fall in/out at the start merging the displays.
@@sparkequinox That sounds like you still need to tweak the ipd-focus. Try to move them ramdonly while watching DVR? The menu is not very good for that if you already have some astigmatism. Your brain shouldn't have to readjust.
@@miquelmarti6537 yeah it was definitely because I was only using the menu to tweak it. Didn't realise I needed the adapter for my fusion RX and only just ordered a digital cam system today. Uploaded some footage onto the SD and it's working well now.

Now when I put the goggles on, it's a single image. Seems like I had to train my eyes and brain, but only once.
Are these your first goggles with a screen per eye? I had the issue with the screens not merging when I first moved from box to two screen goggles. I found that sometimes just looking at the top of the screens would help them merge. It would initially take time - maybe a minute which might be a problem with a quad so maybe just practise on simulator until you train your brain. There’s nothing wrong with you or the goggles- your brain just needs to learn.

You just have to give it time. It took my eyes and brain 3 days to adjust to the new screens and optics. Just keep trying multiple times per day. One day it will just happen.
Meh.. They are OK. Its a good compromise of performance and portability. I really need the goggles to be compact. I’m sure you could get better performance with longer antennas, but I have not tested them.

My brain was just not used to the optics at first, or I was trying too hard to see a single image.
Hey I’m using the analog expansion module and it says detected but whenever I plug my drone in the screen goes from white to just black no image? Any idea on why this might be?
does anyone know if this can be bought in europe? i can't find any link where i don't pay like about 750€ to 850€ (that is 815$ to 920$ which is bonkers) just for the goggles alone...
All right, finally starting to set mine up. First question I have is, where can I buy third party foam? The nose bridge area of the foam is quite thin and tricky to orient so that the plastic doesn't dig into the bridge of my nose.
I think we somewhat all have that problem. There are no official replacement foam for the HD0 Goggles, but the concensus is the Skyzone O4x foam(fake leather or foam) did a great job. Congrats on receiving the goggles.
@@OneManUnmanned I seem to recall someone took one of these apart, and there's actually a ground plane with two wires forming a little "x" mounted over it, hence why the antennas aren't a flat PCB like normal patches. They're still directional like patches, but they actually have better performance due to having air between the antenna and the ground plane instead of using the PCB material.

Thats a good technique..Yeah, you’re right, the faceplate does require a lot of force to snap in.

@@dknox1911 Had/ Have the same issue. One thing that helped is the Faceplate that comes already on googles is not fully snapped on.
Try to focus a little bit farther away and images will merge.
