Thanks brother! It was a fantastic fun day hanging with you and the local crew. I really like that foxeer vtx and camera I was impressed with the results. 🤟👊👍
Great work, guys! Botgrinder, you feel you will replace your old goggles with the HD zero? I'm not happy with the latency of the DJIs looking for a new pair. So far, I'm feeling these 👍 over the DJIs
I switched from the hd0 vrx to the walksnail vrx and I didn't notice any difference in latency I really like walksnail im probably gonna try to sell my hd0 stuff
Based on where you were standing, how much signal was shooting out the side to your goggles? Did the penetration really increase as you went up the floors? Would love to see a repeat with you standing in the center of the lowest floor so the signal is forced to go through the concrete.
Good point. I'm assuming that the main reason the signal degraded as I went up especially near the top was the walls up there had less holes from what I could see. We were standing with our patches and omnis facing the building in this test. Definitely want to do more comparisons with these two systems. Thanks for your feedback JB! 🤟🙏👍
While that would be a good torture test,... nobody.... not even dji pilots would do that in the real world under normal conditions. They know it's going to be trash flying conditions no matter what system they had, you're either going to fly blind or end up flying like your gimbals are on ice with your quad dancing left and right while you try to stabilize your flying. Such a test would be just for kudos/for the heck of it. Anyways, what they did is closer to what normal pilots would do.
Exactly what I requested! IMO, that test was too easy as there was never a place that they couldn't fly any farther. Like DS007 said...a test flying up the floors from inside is not how we typically fly. So, flying around solid buildings is something we do in real life flying. 👍
@@edrone_ Bardwell alerady did the exact test he's asking here, which is why I wonder why he's asking them to repeat his test. Check JB's channel he has already done this test with the obvious predictable results with the exception that he never ever tells you what his control link feels like under harsh conditions. Only comments on how it looks with the presumption that a person could fly just fine under those conditions which isn't true. Now perhaps it's true that he can't tell the difference in latency but I wouldn't put much trust in that as, every pilot will avoid any situation where the signal quality is degraded on dji because the control link turns rubbish. Analogue will avoid it because even though they can fly through a black and white image and have a good control link they would rather not fly on the edge of their video link and the same goes for HDZ.... every one does this exact same thing... no exceptions and that's system agnostic too.
I've been running analog all this time and loved it. Recently got the walk Snail VRX VTX and it really brought me to the HD world 🤯. I've been looking hard at the HdZero since shark bate came out. The thing that I'm noticing the most with this HDzero system versus analog... Is that HdZero looks incredibly clear all the time except for the rainbow static. And analog does weird color changes and lines and has breakup, sometimes even when you're super close. Definitely impressed with Bot foxeer cam/VTX/antenna combo when flying the garage
I have really been impressed with the way HDZero has continually improved over time. These new goggles are a massive step forward for the system. I agree that foxeer t Rex camera paired with the Reaper is a solid choice for analog.

Great video and testing guys! Next test please...find some similarly large buildings, but solid - no holes in the sides and through to the other side. Then fly around the buildings and see how far you get. Perfect test! The parking garage was fine, but it had holes all around the perimeter. That's unique to only parking garages. Please do the same test with solid buildings and flying around them. You could also do the same test with the same parking garage but be INSIDE the parking garage near the center, and try flying up the floors. Thank You! 😎🤘
I had the same thought, my FS goggles died and I'm really new but I'm considering getting the HD0's and I want some more solid wall/ heavy trees penetration testing
@@digitalabstractions Fuck man, don't get HDZero... It has less penetration, slightly, than analog! It's terrible! 😩 DJI penetrates better than ANYTHING, with Walksnail second. You can't even fly around the corner of a building without HDZero completely losing signal and going to Rainbow 🌈 screen of death! You're done! DJI will fly completely around the building and very often without ANY distortion to the crystal clear image at all. If you do get some it's for a few seconds typically, and you're right back to crystal clear! And I'm talking way, Way more crystal clear than HDZero ever dreamed of. That's why you can actually fly through a thick forest, very slowly, looking for each ghost branch and piece of little scraggle, seeing it clear as a bell, and you'll end up getting out through the other side or making a full loop back out where you entered! 👍 I've flown up into huge tree canopies... Yup, right into the middle of a giant tree and through the labyrinth of tiny branches and leaves, out the other side... Easy! HDZero can't even enter either the forest or the tree canopy. It's just not sharp enough! Joshua Bardwell has demonstrated just that. I look for his video. There's no comparison. Plus DJI is almost bullet proof. Little to really zero defectives or breaking VTX's. Hdzero they are fragile! People break VTX's so often some have stopped flying HDZero because they're tired of replacing VTX's over and over and over, etc. Again! Seriously not durable. Costs way too much. DJI V2 goggles are cheap used and often like new, under $300 and they do great analog FPV too! Buy what you want. But if you want to fly literally ANYWHERE, go DJI and know you've got the very best. It's exactly why it has close to 50% market share and HDZero is 13%. People want the performance. It's why all the big and semi big RUclips review channel guys fly DJI. Now if you exclusively race, buy HDZero. But, know it's a one trick pony. Don't believe me, people say different? How many times have you heard of people flying FPV right into the middle of a thick tree, like a maple or an oak, and flying inside the tree, not crashing, and then flying out a tiny little gap of 8"x8" on the other side of the tree! Image clarity and penetration, baby! It's where it's at! You haven't heard of anyone doing it because those other systems can't do it! Fact.
Looked to me like one of those antennas was buried in a TPU mount. Pretty sure Painless 360 did some testing on that and said TPU mounts that cover the antenna lose a lot of signal.
Interesting 🤔 I had heard the opposite that tpu did not affect the transmitting signal. I will definitely have to give that a watch. Thanks for your feedback. 🤟🙏👍
I did not get the "going through xth floor"" thing though as guys were obviously outside the building and all floors naturally had basically the same level of signal from the outside (except some slight changes due to the angle). It's not like other "garage floor tests" where the VTX is in the garage and each floor adds additional layer of concrete.
While flying I was communicating with Bot so he knew where I was at the time to make following easier. The reason the signal got worse at the top was mainly because the holes in the concrete were less up there so more solid concrete in between us. 🤟🙏👍
Someone else had mentioned this also. I was told by some peers that tpu did not affect the transmitting signal so I'll need to do some research on this but thanks for your feedback. Any way to improve performance I'm up for. 🤟🙏👍
great comparison! I think part of the reason you were getting more breakup around the turns was bot was following you close, you were both outputting I assume max the VTX can do, and the quads being so close to each other interfered with each other as well. If you both kept more distance I think you'd see a different result. But either way, great job! LIKED!

I need to see which way those patches were pointed. The *vast* majority of people fly with their heads facing the ground which means the patch is pretty useless because it isn't pointed at the model. In fact, most of the timethe patch just picks up a reflected signal from the ground which is actually reverse-polarized because it's reflected. Show us your head orientation 🙂
I would definitely have to agree 👍 I was actively trying to hold my head straight for this test I can say with confidence. Thanks for watching and your feedback Bruce 👍🤟🙏
@@edrone_ on my quad i have a rush cherry, but i think every quality antenna will do better than the stock one. The radiation pattern is all over the place 😅
So... You're comparing 1W HDZero with 1.6W analog? Not exactly fair... And what channels did you use? If you put HDZero on R8 and analog on R1 then that will be a pretty bad disadvantage again, since HDZero doesn't transmit as high power on the higher frequencies (like many analog vtxs do too, I think). Also, what you're forgetting is HDZero won't just "drop out" and totally drop the link with zero warning like DJI & Walksnail will. It'll go staticky and then come back immediately when you punch out - just like analog.

Guilty.
I'm all about the penetration, even in FPV too
😆🤟👊😎
Always a great vid
Thanks brother! Your support means alot 🙏🤟👍
The foxxer vtx is running to 1W?
I'm pretty sure he was using max power.
Awesome, love HD zero. Will I ever own it... No hahaha, but it's still an epic system!!!
Thanks man! Fly whatever works for you for sure! 🤟👍
@@edrone_ Anything that's gets you flying right :) always content with whatever I can get.
Touche analog proved itself reliable im interest how the akk long range 3000mw would hold up against the foxeer
The analog did really well! I've always been a fan of Foxeer.
Pretty good result for both systems, the stock hdzero antenna is not the best but it handled it pretty well there 👏
I have had pretty good results with the stock antenna but I am definitely interested in doing some upgrades soon. What antenna are you using?
@@edrone_ vas minion or cherry rush
@AnthonyFPVMiniQuad thank you Anthony 🤟🙏👍
@@edrone_ on my quad i have a rush cherry, but i think every quality antenna will do better than the stock one. The radiation pattern is all over the place 😅
@iroNLionFPV thanks for the information I am going to be placing a order today for sure! 👊🤟👍
Great video guys 👍 But I’m not getting rid of DJI stuff yet. lol
Thanks Glenn 👍 It's great to have so many options my friend! 🤟🙏
main lesson there... mind your take off spot!... ^^ signal with plenty gaps to penetrare....
Yes yes penetrate
HdZero was on R1. Analog was on R3 I believe.
Niice. I love experiments. Subbd
Thanks 👍 Much appreciated 🤟🙏
nice vid
Thank you 🙏🤟
@@edrone_ I can't wait too get a pair of hdzero goggles, I've been using hdzero since the start and love the system
@Spazbird same here I have been along for the ride since sharkbyte haha. You will love the goggles brother I can't wait till you get them also. 🤟
@@edrone_ as soon as I do I'm tagging you in the vid lol
Thank you! Will you try caddx walksnail vrx 6s kit at the same place please 😁
Definitely want to do some more comparisons for sure! 👍👊🤟
@@edrone_ you guys rock 🤟

compare latency
Many sources say hdzero has lower latency than (hdr) analog
