    1 watt and 200mW is only about 1.7 times the range distance . And your vtx uses 5x less power

    Tha HDZ colors are quite impressive. Perfectly comparable to the gopro. On the googles you don't notice that much of a lower resolution and snow lashes, it looks cleaner. RUclips will always favor the WS/DJI crisp video.

    So you recommend this system? I'm very confused this day to choose what system suits me.

    • @P.G._FPV
      @P.G._FPV  9 месяцев назад +2

      Depends on what size drone you typically fly.
      I have flown analog, HDZero and DJI V2 goggles with caddx vista's and either Nebula Pro or Original DJI cameras or for low light the Caddx Polar.
      All 3 systems have their purpose. I will admit that analog is my least favorite to fly but is great for anyone who flys on a budget.
      If jumping to digital will cut you short on funds and will lead to you flying cautiously then stick to analog. You progress a lot faster if you aren't constantly worried about crashing or more importantly how much it may cost.
      With saying that I have been flying the same 3 vista units since switching to digital a little over a year ago though. They have been way way more robust then the analog stuff I use to fly.
      If you fly 3 inch and larger kwads I'd personally recommend that you try and find a used set of DJI V2 Goggles and a caddx vista with either the Nebula Pro or OG DJI Camera. The penetration of DJI is hard to beat... it definitely provides the most freedom especially when flying around buildings or a lot of structures or trees.
      If you are into 3" and smaller or you are considering getting into racing then I would highly recommend HDZero.
      Everyone says it's just a little better then analog but from my experience it is a lot better. The locked in feeling you get when using their Nano90 camera is absolutely awesome. But the system is definitely more limited when flying Freestyle at any extended distance when you have structures in between you and the kwad. It is my go to system when I'm flying close proximity freestyle flying though.
      I personally have been trying to decide which one I was going to sale... DJI or HDZ... I still have both. I do fly some smaller kwads so that's why. If I didn't fly the smaller kwads and whoops then I'd probably just stick to my DJI V2's and vista units.
      Hope this helps you come to a decision and also just remember... no matter what system you use the most important thing is to just get out and fly. Enjoy it!!! 🤘🤘🤘

      @@mark6302 do you have any experience with DJI? Either their Older V2 Goggles, or the Newer Goggles 2?
      If you are into flying up into the canopy and behind the trees when you are further out from where you are sitting and flying from... they would be a great option for that type of flying.
      The video on the HDZ gets to were it breaks up pretty decently when up in and behind the foliage...

      @@mark6302 oh ok. I was mainly talking about custom built ones.

    I'm running the V2/vista's. (Nebula) I'm missing micros. I see all these cool new whoops and micros that have analog/HDZ/walksnail options. Plus DJI is trying to phas out the vista, (I have zero interest in the 03, owned one and hated it)
    So I'm gonna buy another set of goggles, do I go walksnail and have the budget vista style experience. Or do I go HDZ and get the super analog experience. I can't decide. But I'm buying them next week so.. 🤷 still no clue which to buy.

    • @P.G._FPV
      @P.G._FPV  Год назад +4

      If you are looking at a setup for a smaller kwad or whoop then I'd highly recommend HDZ.
      Everyone says it's just a little better then analog but it is Night and Day better. The signal/penetration is a lot better with HDZ then analog also.
      I also have DJI V2 goggles and vista's with the og dji cam and Nebula Pro cameras on them. The picture is great but when you fly them in low latency mode the picture gets pretty bad and I just can't stand the lag that it has.
      Why not HDZero goggles and then add a Walksnail VRX to them and have both? 😁
      I hope this video helps you see what to expect from this system though. Good luck with your decision and Rip-On!!!

      The ws system looks better than the vista I can tell you that much, I've only ran it at 700mw and 25mb I've done 1.5 mile range with that and the penetration is just as good as any vista... still I fly HDZ way more than the WS system that I have just my preference I like early warning and low latency. Side note but important: that place he had the most breakup on hdz? That is where WS and dji would feel the most lag and you'd notice it immediately. HDZ gives up picture quality for lag free response which can give you an early warning and stop you from crashing into something when the reception is bad. The others will give you a clean pic but your quad is likely not where you're seeing it... All in all this happens so fast that you'd be out of the bad spot before it messes you up, however if you linger in a bad area you'll pay for it no matter the system you're flying.

    I think this sport is sooo cool but i feel like its going to be dominated by a focus on training drone bomb acrobats. The future is weird and i just wish we could keep tech like this for fun however the only reason we have it is because of weaponry development

    • @P.G._FPV
      @P.G._FPV  Месяц назад +3

      Not sure what exactly the roots of FPV are but I'm pretty sure it didn't start with the thought of weaponry... but man has a clever way of taking something that is good and using for their gain though. The same can be said about a lot of things.
      Thanks for watching and commenting, appreciate that.

      @@P.G._FPV Look for the story of the creator of the Naze32 fc, Timecop. A japanese man tired of the apple-ness of DJI, hating their closed build Naza flight controllers.
      Short version is he wanted to create a more open FC for pilots, made a pretty good STM32f1 board and setup program named Baseflight, while others were wobbling about with Multiwii *(arduino based, with Nintendo Wii gyros) or Hobbyking's KK boards. With the Naze32 came the change pilots wanted. That was about 12 years ago, with people ordering loose 8ch vtx's made by Boscam, making their own goggles by mating ski goggles with small LCD screens and Boscam 5808 recievers... Around that time, innovations like the clover leaf antennas were made as well, people made their own, I still have lots of parts for it.
      Then came Boris B, a pilot from Belgium, who made a fork of Cleanflight, an updated Baseflight. Betaflight. Also better FC's, ESC's, innovations like Airmode, better cameras, and even HD. Well known pilots came and went (or their fame went to their heads, causing terminal cringe), and all the while China supplied and even innovated better stuff. And now here we are. And this became not that short of a story.
      But, be glad you don't have to live with the wobble of PWM based escs, slow FCs, burning motors due to unknown bugs in the escs. The agony of finding batteries which could deliver power- and not puff up on the first flight, after making them yourself. Ever had all 4 props detonate on you because you went full throttle on 4s? :P Cracking ZMR250 frames from a bad landing was fun too. Oh, and 1804 2300KV RCX/ ZMR motors, with looow power, shedding their magnets every crash xD How glad we were with the DYS 1806 2300KV motors, they worked like a dream on 4s, spinning the Gemfan 5030 2 blades with no problems...
      But, we were free back then. Very few problems with non-pilots- and we flew under the radar. Police were interested in our hobby, as in, they wanted to look through the goggles.

    I'm sticking with analog. Hd is just to expensive. Vtx 50 to 200 dollars. Analog vtx 17 dollars. Hd vrx 220 dollars or 600 for their goggles. I just can't justify spending that much money to change over. Especially with what I have invested in analog.
