@@DarrenAllatt this is the version i got iFlight ELRS 2.4GHz RX i know what goggles I am getting i was wondering if the radio master boxer would work with this system
The cost effectiveness of analog is a bigger deal to a lot of people than I think you realize. With any of the 4 digital options, using a digital vtx often more than doubles the cost to build the quad compared to analog
@@sergiodominguez9141a good set of analog goggles with rapid fire is probably as expensive, or slightly more than digital. However, a good analog camera and vtx is less than half the price of a digital setup. $30 per each, for top of the line camera and vtx. BnF’s are like 1/3 to 1/2 the price of digital too. There’s no lag or stuttering and it’s cheaper. If you’re running smaller quads like toothpicks and whoops, you’re going to be less afraid of crashing. You can fly them closer to the edge without crashing IMO. Also, analog is still a LOT lighter even when compared to the 1s Avatar and HDzero whoop board. It’s noticeable when flying. I started the summer flying Walksnail 2” 2s quads, and now I’m spending a lot more time flying analog 1s quads. I have more fun with the analog stuff. If you fly for the sensation you get from it, analog is still a really good choice.
@@DarrenAllatt Basically my takeaway from this is "I absolutely cannot live with any form of noise whatsoever", putting analog below HDZero for racing is literally just you being a little bitch about image quality. Not hard to tell which people in this hobby were the snobby fuckin' rich kids who never had to see life in the lower class.
Penetration of analog vs digital system is actually more similar than people think. Analog is just more noticeable (to most people) at first because it degrades image quality, whereas digital systems lose latency first. The defining factor on which to choose depends on how sensitive to latency you are. Latency jumping around drives me bonkers so analog / hdzero is my preference. I can't fly through dropped frames but I can still fly through a damn near lost image.
The exact same for me. I can fly through gaps with only snowy silhouettes visible. But with DJI I crash into them with the variable latency. The image looks nice though, but it doesn't help when it's too late.
@@DarrenAllatt hi That was meant more as a joke, but I think a big advantage of the analog FPV system is that it is very cheap and lighter than some of the digital alternatives.
might need to do this video again.😊😊 mostly because of the hdzero freestyle v2 units and how many racers use them. I freestyle with dji and the variable latency when going farther behind objects can be a bit annoying to me personally.
Thanks for comparing. Since you cant have them all, unless money is not an issue, you might want one goggle that can manage two systems. The walksnail and DJI O3 goggles are completely locked in to their system and therefor incompatible. Most compatible today with awesome technology are the HDzero goggles. They are HDzero, walksnail and analog module compatible. JB recommends them in this regard. Now to people who have been in the game a little longer and dont need to decide which system to get into today: The existing DJI V2 goggles are still one of the best pick's. You dont really need to upgrade. It can do the DJI system original vista/ air unit and new O3. Also the DJI V2 goggles have an AV in, which allows you to run an analog receiver. So for people with the DJI v2 goggles there is probably no need to buy new goggles and system for over 1000 bucks. Also you should take in consideration in your ranking how these systems break up. Analog and HDzero you can see it slowly breaking up and it come back immediatly when the signal is there. Walksnail and DJI you notice the breakup pretty late and then all of a sudden it blacks out. The rebinding takes a few seconds. This can make all the difference if you crash or not. For me I'm sticking to the DJI V2 goggles with analog adapter. Maybe the HDzero goggle are tempting too. But having so many quads already, I'm going to save the money
Its a good comparison but people shouldn't really focus on the final score that much because it depends on the use cases. For example I mostly race and fly cinewhoops so for me a combination of analog + original DJI is perfect :) Might get a few o3 units for live broadcasting in the future
interesting take on it, but I'd guess it's not quite that simple since the "grade" really depends on the pilot and what they are doing with FPV. Well done on the video though, nice editing and presentation.
Thank you. And yes, what you have said is what I hope for people to get out the video is that there really isn’t one best system and that each system has strengths & weaknesses and that it’s really just up to what the pilot wants to prioritise in their choice of system.
Good comparison video! Add light weight tiny whoops and it may change the results again. I currently fly analog and HD Zero. I haven't flown my DJI quads in more than 2 years. I also don't like the booting/setup time of some HD systems that feel as if you have a PC on your forehead.
I don't agree with range part when dji doesn't go as far. Imagine quality isn't good when the screen goes black. HDzero went 30km & walksnail 31km (walksnail actually still looked good) But penetration I think DJI beats them all. It's retransmission just helps so much. Walksnail retransmission doesn't seem as good. Think I'm with u with everything else
@DarrenAllatt oh the original maybe knock 1 letter cause it has the shortest range. New dji I'd knock down like 2 letter. Goes further but still 3rd distance of hdzero and walksnail
I own multiple analogue, HDZero and Walksnail setups for fixed wing. Can't speak for DJI since I only use Mavic and Phantom3 but Walksnail is a whole different world.
Not sure if I'm fanboy-ing, but I really can't understand some points on the O3. "just plug it in and hit update" -> setup C rating? There is also just the goggles and O3 which you usually just plug into the fc, how is that more complex than all the different modules and cameras for other systems? Cost F because you can get receivers for other systems for cheap ... but I'm not an android that can see hdmi, comparable goggles with antennas aren't much cheaper? Recording is not mentioned at all, despite many many people having extra cameras on their quads. It's also the first time I've heard that O3 has worse penetration compared to Original DJI and Walksnail, but I can't personally attest to that. I also don't get why you mention 3 channels multiple times. If that is CE mode, there is no way other systems have the penetration and range of O3 and in FCC mode goggles 2 have 7 25mhz channels and I regulary fly with analog and original DJI in a 2m radius around me.
Good video. I have O3, HDZ, and WS and in general prefer HDZ. When I'm just cruising on a fine evening or going mid range, I'll use Goggles 2+O3 because it looks great. WS for me works best with an external monitor because I have the VRX, so I just plug in the HDMI to a monitor and cruise around that way.
Interesting results but I think regarding overall feelings of pilots it's not there... I think the real battle it's against hdzero and original dji (regarding cost, latency, reliability of the signal) and pilots will choose one of them more likely than O3 or walksnail. So putting walksnail on the top and original DJI on the bottom seems to me just pure number imo...
Walksnail at the top and Original DJI at the bottom was just how the total scores fell at the end, not how I would have ranked them if I was to rank them personally- but it was rather an objective rank.
I really liked your comparison of all the systems. I think it is the only one on youtube at the moment. You gave good categories and it was very informative with lots of content from others, too, to support YOUR ranking. In some categories I would rank them a little bit different and it is always gonna be very SUBJECTIVE how different things are gonna be ranked. BUT all in all YOUR ranking is alright ;) Your Japanese marking was messing with me though :D nothing against it, especially because you explained it, but it is just weird to me :D :D :D
Wait a second.. the original DJI v2 goggles are cheaper than the HDZero or walksnail goggles. Add to that the fact that the DJI v2 goggles come with antennas and a battery which you'd have to buy completely separate on the HDZero system.
naaa HDzero goggle win for sure. . . race and freestyle use HDzero. .btw that micro quad is awesome in hdzero longrange for dive in the mount just use analog never fail me. .
Why does the FPV community keep using the term penetration? With the same wavelength and power output the penetration is equal. It's not about penetration, it's about reception. How sensitive is the system and thus can it make use of the information received? Nothing against this video. Good content.
You raise a fair point. I guess its easier to say whether a system's broadcast can penetrate the different obstacles in the way so the goggles can receive it.
I thought walksnail has worse breakup compared to all, according to other youtube content. why you think otherwise and gave it 4-5-5 while analog is 4-1-1? Im confused.
The original firmware Walksnail launched, yes, it wad the worst breakup. However the last couple of firmware releases the breakup isn't noticeable. Before I gave the scores, I knew I had the judge Walksnail on the latest release, not the initial release, hence why it scored the way it did.
@@DarrenAllatt thanks 👍🏻 seems still has lot of latency as VRX for my ORQA.. I think they didn't bought ImmersionRC just for fun; i hope we see "promised" ORQA digital soon.. 😩
@@alperenozgur On the Oscar Liang Walksnail Avatar VRX site is a list of analog goggles latencies. Orqa is 2nd last with 52ms, better are HDO2 for example.
@@DarrenAllatt hi, it’s not new I suppose however one of your conns for HDzero was the fact that it was limited to 200mw hence my comment about the 1000mw VTX they have. Enjoyed your video though. 👍
@@DarrenAllatt if I misheard you or didn’t quite catch something I apologise in advance. Not here to give anyone trouble mate. I am currently deciding if I should lock myself into DJI or rather go with HDZero with the option of the WS VRX for some diversity.
@@TheGoodShepherdsSheep no offence taken. What goggles do you have now? If they have HDMI, maybe try both HDZ and WS through their own respective VRX’s and see how you go
My opinion is for tinywhoop walksnail is killing, in another hand foe any above that dji is the winner, so for the creators to go with that, for hobbyists and having fun like me going with anlog is more than enough, I have DJI though it is interesting but in most situations you will need gopro / additional camera , so still analog is the best choice to have fun and affordable cost, IF I thinking to be a creational pilot I will go for walksnail and dji / for fun analog, There is no space or reason to go with HD zero ,…. For me at least
Ok, so HD-Zero is just the video system, it's seperate to the Radio and Receiver that's on your drone. For HD-Zero: Goggles wise, you can get one of the following: - HD-Zero Goggles, - Emax Transporter HD Goggles - HD-Zero VRX + Analog Goggles with HDMI Port For a Radio, I recommend the Radiomaster Boxer ExpressLRS Drones, well I'd recommend starting with the BetaFPV Meteor 75 HD-Zero ExpressLRS
@Darren Allatt So is TBS compatible with the HD zero goggle and that radio? What abiut ELRS 2.4 vs 915 hz?. If I was to buy an iflight Nazgul 5", which configuration would I choose?
@@rkwjunior2298 Video Systems and Radio Systems are completely separate, they don't need to be "compatible" as they don't effect each other. That being said, ELRS has an integration with HD-Zero goggles, that doesn't make them compatible, it means there is an integration. TBS doesn't have that same integration because they are closed ecosystem. ELRS 2.4ghz as 900mhz in 2023 is not necessary, back prior to ELRS when you only had FRSKY that would failsafe 100m away, yeah 900mhz was the go. Today, 2.4ghz iFlight don't sell a HD-Zero version of the Nazgul, only DJI Original or DJI O3. If you'd like the Nazgul equivalent in HD-Zero then: - Foxeer Aura 5" Freestyle RTF - Green or Grey, up to you - RHCP - ELRS - 2306.5 1850kv - HD-Zero is the configuration This will work with HD-Zero Goggles and the Radiomaster Boxer ELRS
I have the DJI FPV with goggles V2 and while the picture quality is great, I still prefer flying my analog system for a few reasons. 1- I feel comfortable flying without the constant fear of "don't crash, it'll be expensive" 2- If I break it, I can fix it and quickly 3- Love and hate relationship with DJI
Then for image quality you give HDZero a C. If you have 5 systems you need 5 levels of rating. Otherwise you can manipulate the tests to not count as much.
No, I don’t need 5 levels of rating. This is the standard rating system you can see used right across RUclips on your typical rating videos. And the whole point is, this is my rating of the different systems. I have the ratings based upon my preferences and what I determined their ratings to be. If you don’t like it, cool, have your different view - but don’t criticise by ratings because you don’t agree with them. Instead, put your case forward as to why you would rate them different

@@DarrenAllatt in the tier scale….you mentioned “original DJI goggles” (V1). Just wanted to know was the V2 including or Excluding in the “original DJI goggles”.
Why is bro roasting analogue the image quality isn’t that bad as he makes out, the latency is much better than any digital system and the range/penetration is the same as digital as they all use 5.8ghz, you just need good antennae
I've only been flying for almost a year now, I started with fatshark dominator v6 goggles and Analog everything, for me analog was fine with a good vtx and camera its ok picture quality but with that a good vtx is 60-70 bucks a good camera is 30-50 bucks then you have to solder/ setup all these vtx tables and channels and everything not the easiest thing for new flyer's to figure out after trying my buddy's dji setup with a caddx nebula pro i went next day bought some dji goggles v2 and 3 vistas and swapped all my quads to digital and never looked back analog is like watching an old TV your grandma may have had layong around that barely worked and dji is like watching 4k tv with no issues 🤣 comparing these systems are silly hd zero is just analog with digital break up 😅 walk snail is a straight up copy of dji just slapped there name on it and changed it too worse image quality so yeah these are all opinions but i feel there fair, dji wins for me at first i didnt want to be a dji fan boy but after suffering thru analog for so long i have mad respect for how good dji just works plus the 03 air unit isnt that big at all plus getting able to record better vid then most of yall with a old asf gorpo hero session 5 lol unless your racing there's zero need for analog or tiny whoopin i suppose even then ive seen some 1.5 inch quads with a vista so ehh i can go without little itty bitty quads they seem like more of a gimic then flying the real thing.
I generally agree. When I was researching for this video, I found that in the recent firmware versions the colour and dynamic range has been pretty good, the difference really came down to resolution.
Great video Darren. So what you’re saying is HDZero Goggles + WS VRX = absolute best way to go 😂. Will be interesting to run these tests again when HDZero bring out 1080p, penetration mode and firmware updating over WiFi.
Maybe one day that system will get a A ranking bt it still has issues that is being addressed and ANALOG is still used by the majority of the FPV community even by those who have HD systems so sniveling Darrens claim is not true and when that was stated he gets angry when anyone disagrees with him so beware he will threaten to block anyone who does !!!
Range needs to be "With Clarity". Cuz some of us don't give a RATS ASS about flying way up high for as far as we can go! Why is that fun? You're up a thousand or many more feet and you're obviously flying around nothing, just cruising as far as you can go. How is there any fun to that?! I've never gotten it, still don't and will argue forever with anyone about why that is A TOTALLY AND UTTERLY BORING! If you want to se how far you can go without losing your gear, fine. But, that's not something fun or exciting after you've done it once! Most least favorite thing in FPV. Why not see how far you can fly going somewhere close to land and while you can still get clear video? Much more useful to me, because lots of these long range test are so full of snow I could care less about any of them! A total waste of time!
Pushing something youve built with your own hands to a place where failure results in complete loss (for example up a mountain or across a sea) is far more exciting than looping a tree or broken wall 10m from where your standing. Flying LR is about mixed emotions. I often have to remind myself to calmly breathe so I dont misread a vital piece of osd info. Miscalculating your remaining battery, or not acknowledging a change in wind speed could be catasrophic. Flying LR with analog requires more balls than any freestyle flight will ever need.
@@tmc-fpv Yeah, but it's simply not FUN! 🤦♂You're confusing FUN with ANXIETY, STRESS, BEING NERVOUS...I get enough of those emotions in regular life already! That's THE LAST thing I want is MORE ANXIETY! I'm trying to fly places where I have LE chance of losing my quad and investment! Not More!!! Plus, way up in the open sky flying straight to get as far as you can....HECK! You could fly that with one hand on the sticks....ERRRR.....NO HANDS ON THE STICKS! Doing long range is what WINGS WERE MADE FOR! Not drones!!!! B O R I N G ! 🥴🥱💯
Bottom line if you're going to fly outside get DJI. Picture quality range penetration durability all of which are night and day above everything else. And the tiny bit of price difference is completely negligible. If you're going to fly inside analog tiny whoops. If you're a racer analog or HD zero. For freestyle the latency of all the systems is completely negligible I don't think anyone can tell the difference between 10 milliseconds and 35 milliseconds. Recommending woke snail just seems a little irresponsible.
so, point of clarification, I didn't recommend walksnail, that's just how the scores added up. But agree for most pilots, DJI for your regular park / crusing / freestyle is probably the best choice
DJI is an unreliable company and who knows what that company is going to do next and how many goggles will it take to wake DJI fan boys up to that fact ? seriously If you want to be a photographer droner by all means DJI, but anything else FPV ANALOG is still KING and will remain so for some time to come, inside or out
@@markitzero7408 and yet the majority are still using analog and even after buying HD systems still are flying analog, so how does that FACT NOT make it the KING of FPV at this time? Sure one day the HD "may" get to the top of the mountain in FPV but that has NOT happened yet because these systems still have issues at their price that should never be there AT those prices and WHY so many still fly analog even with HD goggles etc. I did not make any of those facts up everyone can easily research it to know that as the thousands of online FPV vids prove it as well as countless articles concerning the subject , just so you know BUT your terminology of "every situation" is correct .
@@markitzero7408 O well, it appears when one does something human behavior tends to lead others in the same group to follow suit, but Nationally the RC FPV community is still flying analog and the odd thing is and you can see the hundreds of videos they even with HD equipment they revert back to flying analog buying analog compatible modules to do so .
Holy Wow that was long winded and excessively informational. Believe it or not some people don't actually have all day to watch an 18 min video. The amount of times you said but after a statement was super annoying. Good information, poor execution. You really need to figure out how to shorten your videos my guy.
So, funny you mention video length. Traditionally my videos are 7 mins and they really struggled to get cut through with views etc. looking at all the different FPV content out there similar to mine the ones that got more traction were on average 15 minutes. I also did a surgery of the FPV audience to find out what length they watched, and what they thought was ideal. Which was on ~15 mins. So I’m not going to script a video to hit that exactly. Some will be longer some will be shorter but the average will be around ~15. Trust me, I’d love to go back to shorter videos, but they just don’t get views - not to mention are easier on the production process.
@@DarrenAllatt just ignore the dickhead above. He's got a cheek to complain. It was his choice to watch the video. You spend a lot of time and effort putting these videos together. We appreciate it very much. Please don't let dickheads stop you from making future videos :)
I'm still not sold on hd, thing that kills me other than the price of all these hd systems, is nobody really elaborates on how big they are on the vtx side. Make sure you have the room for the fpv hd brick. The added weight, and how proprietary these system are is really nuts imo! I don't know if you stated the mw power of the analog vtx on your comparison, i am curious , think it would be important to know. Ive had great luck over the years with analog, and nothing is more versatile . You can fit it in anything, and choose the appropriate power output you need. Not going to be stuck spending a ton of money, just to turn around to buy it all again later on the next version 2, 3, 4...so on. And 5.8ghz is not the only flying frequency out there. The latency is really important to me, and if pennitration is an issue, get a higher power vtx and better antennas. I think its all a never ending money sucking cycle. I dont have to worry if it going to be around tomorrow, no company to say stop production. Analog still is the most versatile. I really dont need to count the blades of grass when i fly, or watch a movie through my googles bc I don't have time to when I fly lol Im still not sold on it all. I'll keep my money for now
I bought the HDZero Goggles, because of their open source outlook, and they really seem to be listening to the customers. DJI was great, and I still use it. DJI has great penetration, and the feed is very nice. But 1): I'd rather lower latency over better video feed & 2): I really hate DJI's proprietary mindset. I like how I can use HDZero to fly analog, HDZero, or even snap a Walksnail Vrx to them, if that is what I need. All of that _is_ money, for sure. But all that aside, if a person was considering an HD system, and I was to recommend one, it would be HDZero. You get to have analog, and the new Racev3-Vtx is about the size of a 20×20 flight controller. I think it only goes up to 200mw, so maybe wait a year, and see how they grow with product innovation, and as a company, before spending that money. Not trying to sell anything, just giving my personal experience, so others can get an idea of how an early adopter is feeling about the system, as it is now. I am currently building a 10-inch, heavy payload quad, for next season, and honestly, I am not yet decided if I will use analog for the pilot feed, or not. Will wait and see what the market has to offer, in ~March 2024.
It looks like, from this, and many other reviews, and user testimony, HDZero Goggles, w/ Walksnail Vrx Module & Analog Module, would be the best way to get yourself into all three circles of the Vin Diagram, without needing to have more than one goggle.
Lmao. Image quality? Yeah, analog can be "pretty good". Racing? Nah, analog image is "trash" (direct quotes). Also, HDZero has far worse penetration than analog, watt for watt. Nevermind the fact that you can get 2.5w analog VTXs for less money than the 1w HDZero VTX.
Fully agree on the ranking, I have all goggles except the O3. You should have mentioned the fit of the googles. I don't like my DJI v2, d they are like straping a toilet seat to your face, but some might like it
That’s a product decision DJI have made. I’m sure when they were planning out the roadmap of features and compatibility, supporting OSD for other flight control systems was on it and I would Dessay. They probably made an assessment based upon marketshare and decided against it. But that’s the right as a business owner to do so The good news is, there are two other digital systems which are more than happy to support OSD from other flight control systems, so that put you in a position to make an informed decision about who you want to give you money to
Very intersting indeed. One aspect that you didn't cover, was the fact the Dji have restrictions depending on where you live, related to where you can fly, and how high. For many, this must be a deal breaker. Great video. Thanks.
@@DarrenAllatt Yes, in that respect only analogue is compatible. All others are not. Where as hdzero is also open source. So theoretically it is also hdzero. But there are probably only a few manufacturers who release hdzero googles and VTXs so far...
main problem with the 03 goggle is the 100hz display vs the 144 on the v1 and v2s. if you tested both you cant use the 03 for anything fast or it WILL drop frames leaving a jagged motion video that makes most ppl go wtf is this?
This video is a good idea, BUT, you cannot rank systems without applying a perfectly controlled environment : such as, antenna used, batteries, quads, etc. You cannot just take 1000 different tests out there and compile them and applying a score out of that and hope for something that fits. It's biased which make this video sadly incorrect. BUT It explains a lot of stuff clearly, the results are what they are, and will bring a lot of hate, but you clearly detach your self from them and stating you don't even own walksnail should be kinda reassuring for the haters about the results. Keep the good job going tho! And just out of curiosity, what is YOUR overall rank of these systems?
Thank you! Yes I agree we could apply more controlled tests to each to come to a more accurate score for each. Although that’s a time and money issue unfortunately. How I’d rank the systems? Well that’s nuanced to the use case and the person. For a beginner who’s just starting, I’d recommend them to go with analog to learn FPV, and save the extra funds from goggles and VTX on batteries and a decent radio. It also allows them to fly as much as they can from whoops to freestyle, racing and long range - this allows them to work out what kind of flying they like the most, then they can do into a digital system that is right for them. If HDZero get their image quality and penetration solved to a standard that’s comparable with DJI Original (they won’t ever do re-transmission of lost packets but can do something to lesson the pain of the break) then I’d think that’s the best “all round” as in does everything reasonably well (racing, freestyle, micros, long range). I think a lot of people don’t get into racing once they’ve gone DJI or Walksnail as it would cost too much to get HDZero and they won’t want to go back to analog. It’s a shame, racing even if you have no aspirations of being MCK is great skill developer for freestyle & cinematic. Look at Vannover, racing helped him get on a Michael Bay film. I’d like to see Walksnail do a racing mode, which doesn’t do RE-transmission and goggles don’t transmit, that would then be the best system for most pilots. But DJI could do the same as well, except they need a solution for micros I’m not set on any one system being the one to recommend at the moment without considering nuance.
@@DarrenAllatt I think this answer should have been in the video cause it s a perfect conclusion and it s pretty objective. From all I have seen I don see much more difference between hdzero and others in term of signal reception (penetration) but the small breakups are more noticable due to the snow. As an open source, hdzero could I think build different configuration to be near as good as ws or DJI in term of image quality. But it LL take time.
Great video! Sugoi! I have been searching for some nice goggles to use with my Mavic 3 and RC pro, which one would you recommend to use just as HDMI input of the RC Pro? I’m not into FPV, probably will be using them only by HDMI! Greetings from Japan!
Arigato! From my quick research the DJI RC Pro outputs 1080p and 2k from the HDMI port, only the HDZero Goggles can receive 1080p through HDMI In. The Skyzone Sky04X may work with the 1080p kms out - it seems like you may be better off with VR Goggles than can handle the output
Last year I was watching RUclips about FPV for couple month before I decided to commit to Walksnail as my first and the only system. That was even before they went to S1 and Receiver Module. It is still so enjoyable to realize day after day that it was a good move. Btw, since this video they also have released an upgraded vTX.
I think the v2 dji goggles should be a F for ease to use if u use any of the dji air units (except 03) because you have to change the firmware on your goggles and the units which a lot of people dont know
With both walksnail and hdzero having "retrofit" options for a lot of analog googles, both could be viable options for those moving from the "entry-level" analog to digital with familiarity "in the hood". Though, it all boils down to how much a pilot wants to spend and how much they want to build a fleet in that ecosystem
Nice comparison video, however I feel it wasn’t fair for analog system. The only thing analog lacks compared to digital systems is image quality, SD image quality of analog is still good enough for everything unless you specifically want to experience and fly HD. Cost, latency, compatibility, heat management, weight etc… it excels. Thanks ✌🏼
@@DarrenAllatt That's the problem with this ranking system... it's mixing too many paradigms. Range and penetration matter so little for outdoor freestyle where latency and cost of repair are paramount, making analog king. You need to see what's going on as rapidly as possible and you're going to crash taking risks and growing as a pilot. You really need to fully separate rankings for outdoor vs indoor, freestyle vs cinema.

The cost effectiveness of analog is a bigger deal to a lot of people than I think you realize. With any of the 4 digital options, using a digital vtx often more than doubles the cost to build the quad compared to analog
Absolutely agree, and feel the cost was representative fairly as pure dollars and not value for money.
well if you add a rapid fire a good camera a good vtx its similar to digital
Also just feels like for freestyle latency is way more important... not to mention costs of repair... which again puts analog on top.
Each to their own. I can’t do snow.
@@DarrenAllatt exactly yeah.
The exact same for me. I can fly through gaps with only snowy silhouettes visible. But with DJI I crash into them with the variable latency. The image looks nice though, but it doesn't help when it's too late.
@@metefpv right yeah. The variable latency screws with me bad as well.

No, I dont hate analog. But when you have 3-4 Amazing HD Solutions to choose from, why choose analog?
@@DarrenAllatt hi That was meant more as a joke, but I think a big advantage of the analog FPV system is that it is very cheap and lighter than some of the digital alternatives.

@@SpinningDoors it's more like 100,- for walksnail. Walksnail nano kit fits in tinywhoops or toothpicks and is even cheaper.
might need to do this video again.😊😊
mostly because of the hdzero freestyle v2 units and how many racers use them.
Now to people who have been in the game a little longer and dont need to decide which system to get into today:
The existing DJI V2 goggles are still one of the best pick's.
Well said. I think the V2’s are the better of the two goggles for DJI because you get the lowest latency on O3.
Its a good comparison but people shouldn't really focus on the final score that much because it depends on the use cases. For example I mostly race and fly cinewhoops so for me a combination of analog + original DJI is perfect :) Might get a few o3 units for live broadcasting in the future
I agree, although you could probably do WS with the VRX and analog to just have 1 set of goggles.
@@DarrenAllatt But then I wouldn't be able to use O3 :) OG DJI still has a lot to offer
interesting take on it, but I'd guess it's not quite that simple since the "grade" really depends on the pilot and what they are doing with FPV. Well done on the video though, nice editing and presentation.
Thank you. And yes, what you have said is what I hope for people to get out the video is that there really isn’t one best system and that each system has strengths & weaknesses and that it’s really just up to what the pilot wants to prioritise in their choice of system.
@@DarrenAllatt would be nice to have it all in 1 goggle. i see now wwhy alot of people end up with more than 1 pair!
@@MichaelRogersJesusrules I agree, HD-Zero Goggles are the closed to an All In One, as you can have an analog module and walksnail VRX.
Good comparison video! Add light weight tiny whoops and it may change the results again. I currently fly analog and HD Zero. I haven't flown my DJI quads in more than 2 years. I also don't like the booting/setup time of some HD systems that feel as if you have a PC on your forehead.
Good call! Yeah agree with that. But that’s what it is unfortunately for a few more years. Goggles 2 are pretty light weight
I don't agree with range part when dji doesn't go as far. Imagine quality isn't good when the screen goes black. HDzero went 30km & walksnail 31km (walksnail actually still looked good)
But penetration I think DJI beats them all. It's retransmission just helps so much. Walksnail retransmission doesn't seem as good.
Think I'm with u with everything else
What letter would you have given DJI original ?
@DarrenAllatt oh the original maybe knock 1 letter cause it has the shortest range. New dji I'd knock down like 2 letter. Goes further but still 3rd distance of hdzero and walksnail
ANALOG is still KING and most are still using it even with HD systems that says volumes in and of itself

What do you mean by HD Input?
@@DarrenAllatt HDMI. Mb. 😅
Personally I love them all, we live in a good time being an FPV pilot.
Absolutely!!
not. thought i start in 2023 and the same shit tech from 2021 just costs the double amount now! thats horrible
I need gokd penetration depth and range. Im not worried about image quality as j wilk use GoPro. In this scenario which googles do you recommend?
I’d actually recommend long antenna on your quad, a high power VTX and patch antennas. Your setup matters, not your goggles.
S!
Been flying analog for 6 years and plan on picking up new goggles very soon. This is a great video!
Thank you 😄
Interesting results but I think regarding overall feelings of pilots it's not there...

BUT all in all YOUR ranking is alright ;)
Your Japanese marking was messing with me though :D nothing against it, especially because you explained it, but it is just weird to me :D :D :D
Thanks Mark appreciate it. How would you rank them for each category?
Wait a second.. the original DJI v2 goggles are cheaper than the HDZero or walksnail goggles. Add to that the fact that the DJI v2 goggles come with antennas and a battery which you'd have to buy completely separate on the HDZero system.
Yes, although I wouldn’t count the included DJI battery as a bonus. Doesn’t last long.
Original DJI v2 goggles are more expensive than Goggles 2. They are EOL so people are putting them up for crazy prices.
naaa HDzero goggle win for sure. . .
race and freestyle use HDzero. .btw that micro quad is awesome in hdzero
longrange for dive in the mount just use analog never fail me. .
Thanks mate!

For HD-Zero:
Goggles wise, you can get one of the following:
- HD-Zero Goggles,
- Emax Transporter HD Goggles
- HD-Zero VRX + Analog Goggles with HDMI Port
For a Radio, I recommend the Radiomaster Boxer ExpressLRS
Drones, well I'd recommend starting with the BetaFPV Meteor 75 HD-Zero ExpressLRS

Video Systems and Radio Systems are completely separate, they don't need to be "compatible" as they don't effect each other.
Today, 2.4ghz
iFlight don't sell a HD-Zero version of the Nazgul, only DJI Original or DJI O3. If you'd like the Nazgul equivalent in HD-Zero then:
- Foxeer Aura 5" Freestyle RTF
- Green or Grey, up to you
- RHCP
- ELRS
- 2306.5 1850kv
- HD-Zero is the configuration
This will work with HD-Zero Goggles and the Radiomaster Boxer ELRS

All good reasons. End of the day you need to fly what is right for you.
You can use your dji goggles and radio with conventional carbon fiber drones though. 😎
Analog literally beat HDZero in your penetration test video but you give it an F and HDZero a D...
And Analog has been pushed to hundreds of km while HDZero has not. Again you rate HDZero above Analog for the range test.
Then for image quality you give HDZero a C. If you have 5 systems you need 5 levels of rating. Otherwise you can manipulate the tests to not count as much.

Flyable image is the second ranking.

That may need to be a seperate video ranking the goggles rather just ranking the systems. But yeah they aren’t the most comfortable
DJI should be banned from this hobbie or comparrising with other systems. it doesnt support any FC or other OSD.
That’s a product decision DJI have made. I’m sure when they were planning out the roadmap of features and compatibility, supporting OSD for other flight control systems was on it and I would Dessay. They probably made an assessment based upon marketshare and decided against it.
But that’s the right as a business owner to do so
The good news is, there are two other digital systems which are more than happy to support OSD from other flight control systems, so that put you in a position to make an informed decision about who you want to give you money to
Megabits. Not megabytes. Good content.
Very intersting indeed. One aspect that you didn't cover, was the fact the Dji have restrictions depending on where you live, related to where you can fly, and how high. For many, this must be a deal breaker. Great video. Thanks.
For me, compatibility also means whether a system can be used with glasses from different manufacturers...
excellent point, do you have anything to add from your experience?
@@DarrenAllatt Yes, in that respect only analogue is compatible. All others are not. Where as hdzero is also open source. So theoretically it is also hdzero. But there are probably only a few manufacturers who release hdzero googles and VTXs so far...
That means analog and hdzero is top. And DJI a big fail in compatibility...

I'm flying a lot more and this is just the info I need moving forward
main problem with the 03 goggle is the 100hz display vs the 144 on the v1 and v2s. if you tested both you cant use the 03 for anything fast or it WILL drop frames leaving a jagged motion video that makes most ppl go wtf is this?
Megabyte is not the same as megabit.
Im thinking analog for fpv and put gopro for production. Dont need giga good vision for pilot imo

But DJI could do the same as well, except they need a solution for micros
I’m not set on any one system being the one to recommend at the moment without considering nuance.
But it LL take time.
be careful sniveling Darren will threaten to block and remove you if you disagree with his whining comparisons...Bah ha ha ha

@DarrenAllatt Which FatShark model was that?
Парень, столько глупостей я давно не слышал, ты сам то реально разбираешься в теме?
S!
what is the name of the analog goggles?
Most racers are using HDZero these days.

I want to know goggles X

Last year I was watching RUclips about FPV for couple month before I decided to commit to Walksnail as my first and the only system. That was even before they went to S1 and Receiver Module. It is still so enjoyable to realize day after day that it was a good move. Btw, since this video they also have released an upgraded vTX.
Yes I saw. Being in Australia. We are last to get everything

I cant even get my dji v1 googels to fly 200 meters before delay and lag
Do they stay in low power mode
fuka...just kidding great video Darren 😂
😂 thanks Evan.
Gotta say, that confused me....
What confused you?
Nice comparison video, however I feel it wasn’t fair for analog system. The only thing analog lacks compared to digital systems is image quality, SD image quality of analog is still good enough for everything unless you specifically want to experience and fly HD. Cost, latency, compatibility, heat management, weight etc… it excels. Thanks ✌🏼
How about range & penetration?
ANALOG is still KING and used by the majority of the FPV community and sniveler Darren can not handle that fact...bah ha ha ha
@@FlyingBuzzardyou better stay analog dude 😂
@@Michelsen3K Appears the majority of the community is analog and even those who spent Huge $$ for HD still revert back to analog and often....Dude
Omg so I started with the hardest system back in 2015 oh no wander i crashed so much 😂
Great vid thanks
man I really like your videos, but your recording sound is just really hard to listen to
