After watching the 40min info video, I watched yours, because you were mentioned in said previous video. and proceeded to laugh my ass off, while being given all the good dope I needed. Yours is the first to show any kind of successful bando flying. My first fat shark/hdzero HD vrx & vtx, Had on my HD3's would drop video around the back of my wood home. So this looks like the improvement I'm looking for, to pull the trigger on Looks a lot better than my first generation FS hd. 100%, I flew analog and digi-jitter-potato, and feel like the potato digital really holds me back trying to do anything accurate. It’s great for cinematic stuff, but close-in freestyle, sbang, racing? Nah. HDZero gives me that immediate, analog feel, that tight, riding-the-quad feeling of analog, but lets me see almost as good as the Darth Vader goggles. Actually, I did a test, and HDZero can see grass better than smeagoggles or analog. HDZero doesn’t potato out. I got my new HDZero goggles, and I have put so many more packs through, it’s crazy. It feels like less hassle than the other digital stuff, it’s as easy as analog but so much clearer. They are absolutely my main goggles now. Also, this might be the best review you’ve given a product since dabs lol

Carl is legit. Gotta be one of the no BS most genuine people making stuff for FPV.
I'd definitely get these over the other systems on offer right now.. open source always gets my vote. Happy enough with analog for the time being though, just gonna sit tight and see how things unfold
Why the break was more severe on second pass - easy. Different antenna angle during the dive. HdZero works great in low light, adding 30 minutes of flight in twilight
Im debating about this myself.. i want to switch to digital from analog and the only thing that holds me back is, what a surprise, the money, lol. The vtx + goggle + camera pack on the official hd zero website costs about 620$. If you wanna buy the same thing for the new dji system it skyrockets to about 1200$ where i live. So double the price of hdzero. Well i think i know the winner there but 620 bucks is still a lot of dough, so have to wait a bit until i can afford them i guess. Hope they will be more available with time, cause right now the hdzero goggles ship mid march when bought today. I hope it wont be yet another waiting time until shipping after they ship the products mid march
Man I might just sell my Orqas for these. They totally dropped the ball on their digital tip. Was skeptical but these are looking better than I expected. I love my analog but this does all that and then some.
me too but some company's wont send you stuff if you dont play ball, carl specifically told me not to hold back and be honest which i thought was rad. emax is another good company that understands honesty as well as the new one sub250.

After three years of shitty analog googles ... these are the ones, time to lift the fog. I ordered them yesterday. Watched the analog DVR in fullscreen on my UHD monitor, it looks pretty incredible, compared to the 360p DVR of my Sky02s LOL All the best to you man

they need to make more durable vtx's.. but so far it looks really good...better than I expected. sucks that racers experienced so many fragile vtx's... but I guess that can be solved.

my fatshark scout's analog version, when my signal starts getting bad it will freeze frame and lag and its super hard to fly through, compared to my emax transporter 2 analog goggs that were my first pair, they would break up and get bad but it would never freeze frame and lag like the scouts, so its not just digital that lags, it depends on your receiver and some analog has the worst of digital and the worst of analog, the scouts will go from decent picture to freeze frame in an instant, the frozen frame even looks decent, so im a lot less confident in my scouts than the transporter 2's but the scouts fit my glasses and i can see way better also the screen is way nicer and so i do prefer the scouts, and over time im getting better at flying through the freeze frames, it can happen so randomly too sometimes im not even behind anything really and it will freeze frame for a second, you always need to be thinking ahead of the quad and ready for it, and the more time i spend in them the better im getting with it, also they are shockingly bad at handleing multipathing lol so yeah not all analog systems are perfect either

Sharkbyte is the same system as Hdzero... The cameras just weren't as good when you tested sharkbyte.... You will have better rf reception with the hdzero goggles though as the receiver is that much better.
Great review. Glad you like them. I agree HDZero has come leaps and bounds since they were being so restricted by the fact that they were working with Fatshart. The confidence you talk about is the same reason I always reach for my HDZero quads in almost all cases. When I want a boring slow cruise flight for the scenery, or massive amounts of penetration and damn the latency, I'll fly my DJI. But These goggles take HDZero to the next level, and it is now, finally a complete system! Hope more people come around to these goggles and this system. DEATH TO ANAL-OG!!!!

This looks really good. I put an O3 in my demibot but not so good. Not sure what I want just yet. I expected it to be great. Maybe it was the overcast day. HDZero is legit.
If you are flying with the V2s it looks like shit, G2 or nothing. Honestly, it’s shit otherwise. Also O3 is causing so much problems with everyone and knocking them out of the air (can use only 1+8) so I’m not using DJI shit anymore, I’m so done with them. Looks great, O3/G2 for cruising, but that’s not how I fly, I fly proper. Good luck man, hope you find what you like.
@@lemonsquareFPV Hit the nail on the head. I use V1s and had a pair of V2s on the shelf that I set up to use. It stutters far closer than the V1s with Vistas. Plus it was pretty dark on a cloudy day. DJI did fix my V1s that had a sunspot for free. they even included the shipping. They're not all bad.
@@tesch1985 it appears like the system is highly optimized for the G2. That was my experience when I used it, but that WAS weeks ago, so maybe firmware or something changed. I dunno, it didn’t fit my flying style, at all, and I passed it on to someone that can appreciate it. It is beautiful with the G2 and it works very well, for what it is. It’s just that I couldn’t fly O3 the way I want. And ultimately that’s what it’s all about, having fun. O3/G2 was not fun for me, at all, and I forced myself to use it for some time, before I gave up and moved on.
Thanks for the review Bot. However I still feel the Sharkbyte module on the new fatshark Hdo2.1 is much better. These goggles look really crappy to me, and the video quality isn’t as good as Sharkbyte I felt.
Yo @botgrinder, if I want a 3d printer for quad and radio $hit but not really for anything else, what do you suggest? I don't have tons of time for "hobby" of it. I just need it to work. Ender 3?
Ender 3 V2 or the S1. Get a bed leveling probe and all metal hot end and you'll be covered. Don't worry direct drive, it's unnecessary unless you're printing fast. It cost a little more than the $99 printers but it has a bigger user base so there's more guides for it and parts. Since Creality is a more established company and thus has more liability if something goes wrong with their products their products are usually safer to use than the cheaper ones.
Nice Review. I Hate Communist DJI and have been holding out of HD goggles for a bit. I like how I can go HD while keeping my analog shit for long range. Speaking of that... How long can it range? I currently like to fly out 2 miles plus and have some goals of 4 miles out with my wings.
Chinese aren't necessarily communist. Mainly it's the government. It's also a dictatorship so they have no say in the matter. So a Chinese company isn't necessarily communist, but I get what you're saying.
Giant ant cowboy's videos will be more informative, but if you're asking for personal experience I regularly fly out with my 1 watt vtx over 3 miles without breakup. Should be noted that the above is using my sharkbyte receiver.
It looks like you got better range with these than the Emax ones. Would you be into testing those patch antennas on the Emax goggles to see if the antennas make a difference? I know you used other antennas with the Emax goggles with not much difference, but I'm wondering if the special antennas will do the trick.
This whole time I thought HDZERO was working on getting rid of that blocky breakup pattern, I guess they are leaving it in their product? A little disappointed, considering neither walksnail or DJI have an types of breakup pattern its more hidden/blended into the image blur effect. I'm still not sold on hdzero until this breakup gets a lot cleaner. I just expect a lot more considering the price compared to analog.
yeah instead of lag and stutter like dji/ws it breaks up like analog. I personally cant do variable latency that stutters it makes me sick but alot of people are used to it.
I realize this is a noob question but here it goes: I have the Eachine 800Ds, was going to upgrade to the Cobra Xv2. How much better of an image will I be getting? - also keep in mind I'm near sighted. Just trying to get an idea how much bang for buck I'm getting.

@@tesch1985 it appears like the system is highly optimized for the G2. That was my experience when I used it, but that WAS weeks ago, so maybe firmware or something changed.
I dunno, it didn’t fit my flying style, at all, and I passed it on to someone that can appreciate it. It is beautiful with the G2 and it works very well, for what it is. It’s just that I couldn’t fly O3 the way I want. And ultimately that’s what it’s all about, having fun.
O3/G2 was not fun for me, at all, and I forced myself to use it for some time, before I gave up and moved on.

Thanks for the review Bot. However I still feel the Sharkbyte module on the new fatshark Hdo2.1 is much better. These goggles look really crappy to me, and the video quality isn’t as good as Sharkbyte I felt.
I think you'd have to actually fly the thing before you can make that assessment though right

I've been through 2 $99 ender pros but just got the sovol sv1 and its pretty baller, just level the bed and print
Ender 3 V2 or the S1. Get a bed leveling probe and all metal hot end and you'll be covered. Don't worry direct drive, it's unnecessary unless you're printing fast.
It cost a little more than the $99 printers but it has a bigger user base so there's more guides for it and parts. Since Creality is a more established company and thus has more liability if something goes wrong with their products their products are usually safer to use than the cheaper ones.

Nice Review. I Hate Communist DJI and have been holding out of HD goggles for a bit. I like how I can go HD while keeping my analog shit for long range. Speaking of that... How long can it range? I currently like to fly out 2 miles plus and have some goals of 4 miles out with my wings.

Giant ant cowboy's videos will be more informative, but if you're asking for personal experience I regularly fly out with my 1 watt vtx over 3 miles without breakup.

It looks like you got better range with these than the Emax ones. Would you be into testing those patch antennas on the Emax goggles to see if the antennas make a difference?
I know you used other antennas with the Emax goggles with not much difference, but I'm wondering if the special antennas will do the trick.

This whole time I thought HDZERO was working on getting rid of that blocky breakup pattern, I guess they are leaving it in their product? A little disappointed, considering neither walksnail or DJI have an types of breakup pattern its more hidden/blended into the image blur effect. I'm still not sold on hdzero until this breakup gets a lot cleaner. I just expect a lot more considering the price compared to analog.
yeah instead of lag and stutter like dji/ws it breaks up like analog. I personally cant do variable latency that stutters it makes me sick but alot of people are used to it.
I realize this is a noob question but here it goes: I have the Eachine 800Ds, was going to upgrade to the Cobra Xv2. How much better of an image will I be getting? - also keep in mind I'm near sighted. Just trying to get an idea how much bang for buck I'm getting.
I have not tried those but for that price id be looking at some used hdo 2's and some diopters or something
@BOTGRINDER - Thanks. I take it from your video the HDO2 image while flying is a lot better than the entry-level (e.g. the previous mentioned Eachine) and the HDZERO is a noticeable improvement from the HDO2?
I have the Skyzone Cobra X V2’s and they are well worth the money. Also they have a HDMI in so you could run digital on them 🎉
