Excellent video - I recently purchased the hover air x 1 - this looks like a less costly drone. The hover air’s tracking is excellent, for example i can use it indoors and easily go up and down stairs. It is easy foldable
A nice review of the NEO. No BS, just informative information to have on a $199.00 AI controlled drone. The NEO has plenty of features but it would be nice to use a controller in various instances.
Great video. Informative and concise. Regarding your problems with palm landing, I noticed that your palm was not actually visible, and as this is the only way it could recognise the command, I think it might be worth revisiting.

I did order the Hover Air Pro Max because of Video quality, obstacle avoidance, and from what I'm seeing already, superior tracking in every way. Out of the box, the Neo is vastly cheaper and beats the Hover X1, but if you want all of the features of the Neo for FPV flying, you will need additional cash about another $100+ and as of this video the Goggles 3 which is $500, so now you are closer to $800-$900 and more expensive that the Hoverair Pro Skiing bundle which is insane IMO.
@scottgivens27 promax definitely beats it in all areas but the price bracket is nuts in my opinion. Looks promising but not quite the perfect travel drone just yet. I agree, in the Mark 2 I would love to see vertical video, an SD card slot, a folding design, quieter props and maybe a better sensor with some stabilisation. Would also be amazing if they made a smaller travel controller.
I'm intrigued by this. Ruled out the Hover because it can't operate over water and I want to use it kayaking. This is half the cost, just barely at a price where I'd risk drowning it. I'm tempted to buy one, transfer its guts into a 3d-printed foldable case with floats, and see what happens.
Thank U so much from Bangladesh. U have answered all my questions that were running through my head! No one can made such a detailed video! I had some confusion and u cleared it in a very easily understandable step by step procedure! wow! keep it up sir
I believe an update could improve the video quality, especially by reducing the overly aggressive sharpness filter. It would also be great if they added a vertical crop mode.
Where I work, we often have a need for aerial stills of parking lots from high overhead. We normally pull these off of Google earth, but it would be nice to get them while our stuff is actually set up. Is the still photo option capable of getting decent shots from about 30 meters up in bright to overcast conditions?
I hope they add firmware support to DJI Goggle Integra and Motion 2. I don't want to have to buy new controller and goggles just to enjoy FPV on this drone. I ordered one anyway because it looks like a perfect addition to my professional camera bag.
I assume it comes with the usual checks for fly spots, which is a problem in my home country where it's almost impossible to fly anywhere due to many no-fly zones. Same would probably be true on recent holiday locations we went to (Canadian Rockies eg). Can someone confirm it's having the same restrictions as any other drone (apart from not required to have a need to register it to fly it or report it's ID and location to authorities given it's weight is < 250g)? As always, great content coming from you and despite DJI surely providing you with some exclusivity (early versions of their products) I always find your reviews very objective as you name the good as well as the bad and even compare fairly, like in this case to the Hover competitor product!
Excellent explanation and worthy review, admire how well you combine fluent explanation with video that fits with what you’re saying, very well done. Could you let me know how much time it takes you to produce such a good video? Do you write your text out front? I guess you need a complete script to make it?
Thanks! A video like this takes me a couple of days to put together, mostly because of the time spent gathering all the b-roll. When it comes to planning the script, I usually keep it simple with bullet points.
New products - The best channel to watch everytime! Everything about a product so well explained and helps me everytime! Once again thank you my friend!👌👊
Great review mate! Just got one, its awesome!! And my last was the equally awesome but a tad larger Phantom 4 Pro Standard. Took my cute baby itty bitty cuddly wuddly NEO down to the beach yesterday & tried both follow me & manual flight. It was very windy yet whilst drone wobbled in flight, the final video was very stable. Only problem is on my Galaxy Fold5, the manual flight controls do not appear when the phone is open. Very odd. Have to run the DJI app with screen closed. I'll drop a line to DJI. For the price, the NEO is a technological marvel & mine is going to be on me everywhere I go! DJI are going to sell loads at Christmas.
Excellent review, to be honest the video quality really leaves much to be desired. The Hoverair X1 footage is more pleasant compared to the over sharpened video of the Neo. The rest of the features are really good. I guess DJI had to keep the cost down to use an inferior camera sensor and also not to cannibalize their higher end models.
Thanks for the great review. One thing you didn't mention is the range. How far can it fly before getting out of range when controlling it via the app or the controller?
When using the app only, I found after 20/30 meters I was getting signal drops outs. This is because when using the app it's a WiFi only signal. When using a controller it changes to O4 transmission so will be good up to 10 km.
This video just helped me make my decision! I loved that even though you are sponsored, you did not sugar coat this review unlike other influencers. I will be skipping this drone. I wanted it to be a smaller FPV but after buying the FMC, controller, and goggles, it will set me back approximately $990. An Avata 2 FMC is right now priced at $1,199. The camera and the noise is also deal breaker. The lack of ability to go vertical (specially since it’s marketed for social media) also sucks. I’d just stick with my Mini 3 Pro and pair it with an Avata 2. Thank you for your review!
Thank you! I'm happy my review helped you make a decision. There is no point in dancing around certain issues, and I would rather be completely honest about my feelings on a product.
@@steameier8590 yeah I’m sorry to hear that my friend. I’m in the U.S. but I usually try to be respectful of others when I’m flying and hate getting attention. I had the first Avata and it was very loud. I was hoping Neo would be quieter but it being loud and the price overall after buying controllers and goggles, it would make more sense for me getting the FMC Avata 2. Even though it’s slightly louder.
@@TheDroneCreative and I appreciate that a lot! I even referred your channel to my brother when he needed to decide which drone to buy first! Thank you
@@RaymundTrojillo Don’t forget to register your drone if you’re using the heavier battery. It’s only five bucks and it’s kind of cool to have a registered drone, I think.
@@TheDroneCreative just found this on the DJI website: Which remote controllers are compatible with DJI Neo? DJI RC 2, DJI RC-N3 Remote Controller, DJI RC-N2 Remote Controller, DJI RC Motion 3, and DJI FPV Remote Controller 3.
Does it have a RTH function? like if it loses you while tracking and the drone is out over a cliff edge and you have no controller, will it return or simply just hover there until the battery runs out? then plummet down to the bottom of the cliff.

Thank U so much from Bangladesh. U have answered all my questions that were running through my head! No one can made such a detailed video! I had some confusion and u cleared it in a very easily understandable step by step procedure! wow! keep it up sir
Great video with the details of bad and good. Thanks.
do you believe in future from update/firmware a quality video will be better? video in vertical?
I believe an update could improve the video quality, especially by reducing the overly aggressive sharpness filter. It would also be great if they added a vertical crop mode.
Nice review. How does the noise level compare to the Avata 2 ?
Thank you. I would say it's a little quieter, but the noise is a much higher pitch so it actually travels further and is more alarming.
Same here re: adding firmware to support DJI Goggle Integra and Motion 2. I'm not buying another set of goggles or motion controller.
if you see grain at 4k screen any size its not 4k ! Did you do the review after software update ?
It's still the same 4k is actually grainy because of the over the top eis and also it sharpens the video a lot
Can see that twins can have IMMENSE fun with tracking mode !
Finally someone who reviews that mentions the subpar video quality. If dji advertised this as a toy, it'd be acceptable
You didn´t grow up with VHS-Video quality, aren´t you?
Great video thanks for sharing, can I connect my dji mic 2 to my phone while recording audio to straight to my dji neo ?
Excellent review, to be honest the video quality really leaves much to be desired. The Hoverair X1 footage is more pleasant compared to the over sharpened video of the Neo. The rest of the features are really good. I guess DJI had to keep the cost down to use an inferior camera sensor and also not to cannibalize their higher end models.
Never had a drone would this be a good starter for adding to my photography bag for some landscape images
@@TheDroneCreative Thanks...very good news. So versatile - I think it's going to be very popular.
Another great video Matt and thanks for the heads-up on the video quality. It is a shame they didn't equip it with the same sensor as the Mini 4.
I agree. If this drone had the Mini 4 sensor it would have been amazing! Maybe they will add it to the Neo "2".
OMG!! Great review man!!! Appreciate
DJI Avata 2 Weight: 377g, that makes it difficult to fly in the EU.
Thank you
0:45 I don’t know if I’m comfortable with the camera seeing my ‘fears’ 😅
😂😂😂😂😂
Correct me if I’m wrong but you could operate the Spark without any controller using gesture controls
The fly more combo is very tempting.
Bought it yesterday.. worth it.. don't hesitate😅
@@RaymundTrojillo Don’t forget to register your drone if you’re using the heavier battery. It’s only five bucks and it’s kind of cool to have a registered drone, I think.
Really cool offering by DJI. Great video, thank you!
Thank you for your honest review🙌 do you think this drone will be compatible with the DJI rc2 controller?
As it uses OccuSync 4, unfortunately I don't think it will.
@@TheDroneCreative just found this on the DJI website:
Which remote controllers are compatible with DJI Neo?
DJI RC 2, DJI RC-N3 Remote Controller, DJI RC-N2 Remote Controller, DJI RC Motion 3, and DJI FPV Remote Controller 3.
I loved the location and views more than the drone!
Good vid. Can you use it with the RC 2 controller?
Does it have a RTH function? like if it loses you while tracking and the drone is out over a cliff edge and you have no controller, will it return or simply just hover there until the battery runs out? then plummet down to the bottom of the cliff.
yh man was thinking the same
yes it does
No gps no rth
@@franssamuel it does have a RTH function
@@franssamuelIt has the RTH function.
Would you think buying the mini 4pro is a better option??
Nice stuff. These days, people are VERY nervous about drones. So it's really too loud for travel, but it's a cool device.
Swap for quiet props, llittle less flight time usually but not much.
@@SrJonAnthony Good to know. I'm not doing anything to strenuous with Nano anyway. Very tall camera platform and some panning shots over various countrysides on my travels. Thanks for the tip.
