      @@FoodHow You're quite welcome. Here is another way I use turmeric. I often fry an egg in a little bit of butter. As the butter is melting, I sprinkle turmeric on it before breaking the egg into the butter. I imagine the turmeric will absorb okay like this.

    Thank you for this informative video. If using turmeric in root form in green smoothies, could you please tell me the recommended amount of root/raw turmeric, black pepper (and recommended type) and coconut oil for maximum absorbsion?

    • @FoodHow
      @FoodHow  2 года назад +1

      If the taste does not bother you then use one fresh Turmeric root Finger sized or bigger. With black pepper, what more you use, the more effective it is, but obviously, if you use too much, it will ruin the taste. That is why you should use piperine instead. You can read about it more here: foodhow.com/piperine-pepper-extract-turmeric/

    What's the daily intake of fresh raw turmeric root (not powder) in grams?

    • @FoodHow
      @FoodHow  Год назад +3

      Fresh raw turmeric root has a number of health benefits, but it's important to consume it in moderation to avoid potential side effects.
      It seems that common recommendation for fresh turmeric root is between 1 to 3 grams per day. However, this is a general guideline and the optimal amount for you might vary based on individual factors such as your specific health needs, age, weight, and tolerance. If you're considering integrating fresh turmeric root into your diet, it's always a good idea to consult with a healthcare professional or nutritionist to determine the right amount for you.
      Additionally, note that consuming large amounts of turmeric, even if it's natural and raw, can cause stomach upset or other gastrointestinal issues in some people. If you start experiencing discomfort or any adverse effects, it's advisable to reduce your intake or stop consumption.

    I am guessing it is bio-available when eaten as fresh root but when as powder needs pepper, oil and citrus? Is that correct?

    • @FoodHow
      @FoodHow  Год назад

      Curcumin in raw, fresh turmeric has similar bioavailability challenges to its powdered form, meaning it isn't easily absorbed by the body. Enhancing curcumin absorption from fresh turmeric can also be achieved by consuming it with black pepper or dietary fats, given that curcumin is fat-soluble. Light cooking or heating the fresh turmeric might also improve curcumin's bioavailability. Remember, regardless of its form, always consult your healthcare provider before changing your diet or adding new supplements.

    I have read that full fat milk doesn’t help the absorption of turmeric milk and have to add coconut oil is this true? I have been using non dairy Almond milk with no coconut oil added am I wasting my time using non dairy Almond milk and non dairy coconut milk without coconut oil?Thank you for your video

    • @FoodHow
      @FoodHow  Год назад +1

      While full-fat milk is one option for adding fat to turmeric milk, coconut oil is also commonly used. However, using non-dairy almond or coconut milk without adding coconut oil may still provide some benefits, as these milks contain some natural fats that could enhance the absorption of curcumin.

    If I have the healthy fat and pepper half an hour later than taking turmeric, does it still help to absorb? I mean, I'm asking for the times I forget taking those with turmeric and remember later.

    • @FoodHow
      @FoodHow  2 года назад +3

      That is a good question. I am not quite sure about the time limit, but I would think it would still help as the turmeric is still in your digestive system. I will have to look into it.

    Turmeric makes teeth yellow and fingers to. Anyone know what Neutralises the colour for the teeth besides toothpaste?

    • @FoodHow
      @FoodHow  Год назад +1

      Here I got some quick ways to remove turmeric stains:
      For Teeth:
      Baking Soda: Brush with a paste of baking soda and water.
      Activated Charcoal: Brush gently, then rinse.
      Hydrogen Peroxide: Swish briefly, then spit out.
      Coconut Oil: Swish around in your mouth for 15-20 minutes.
      For Fingers:
      Soap and Water: Scrub vigorously.
      Lemon Juice: Rub over the stained area.
      Baking Soda: Apply a paste, rub gently, and rinse.
      Hand Sanitizer: Rub in and rinse off.
      Use these methods cautiously; they may have side effects like enamel erosion. Consult a healthcare provider for persistent stains.

    Speed up 1.5 x

    • @FoodHow
      @FoodHow  Год назад

      Speeding up a RUclips video to play at 1.5 times the normal speed is quite straightforward. Here's how you do it:
      Open the RUclips Video: Navigate to RUclips and open the video you want to watch.
      Click on the Settings Icon: This is usually shaped like a gear and can be found at the bottom-right corner of the video player.
      Choose 'Playback speed': In the settings menu that pops up, you'll see an option labeled 'Playback speed'. Click on it.
      Select 1.5x: A dropdown menu will appear with various speed options. Choose '1.5' to speed the video up by 1.5 times.
      And you're done! Your video will now play at 1.5 times the original speed. You can follow the same steps to return the video back to normal speed or to set it to a different speed.
