I started taking tumeric capsules about a year ago for rheumatoid arthritis. I had been on prednisone for 10 yrs, and after listening to the advice of multiple functional doctors on Instagram, I decided to try it! After 6 months, I started weaning off the prednisone, and stopped it completely at the end of Aug 2022. My ESR(measures inflammation) in 2019 was 15. When my doctor checked it in Jan 2023, it was a whopping 1! I've lost 34lbs in one year by reducing simple carbs(includes sugar), eating more protein and healthy fats, and eating low glycemic fruits. Of course, I've always eaten good veggies! Also, don't buy food that has seed oils in them...very inflammatory. Thank you, Mary, for this yummy tea!! :D

Mary, I’ve been using turmeric tea for years and I now learn to use almond milk with Tamarack at night time with black pepper and it is amazing. I seen this doctor on RUclips. He showed me how to do it with the almond milk. I love it at night time I had trouble going to sleep, it worked. I have not been sick for a long time because of the turmeric, I even put it on my food at night time I find that it works when it’s hot or warm. Mostly warm when I use it with the oat milk. The Tamarack works better that way for me but thank you sweetheart.

I love cardamom so much. Put it in my blended herbal coffee (Teecino or Dandy Blend) every morning (it's kind of like a latte, but less milk). Gotta be careful with cardamom. A little bit goes a long way. Use too much and it overpowers and becomes medicinal tasting. For 2 cups herbal coffee I use almost 1 teaspoon. Alternatively, when I'm not so pressed for time, I'll crack open 6 cardamom pods and (be careful with that paring knife!) and open them up over the blender to let the spice fall out of the shell. I've even added turmeric to that wonderfully warming beverage. It really feels exquisite and nourishing.

However, if you do experience those symptoms just drink some warm lemon water to flush it out of your system. You could also add lemon balm, lavender, chamomile, and/or catnip as a relaxer.

I love turmeric/ginger tea and usually make it in batches of about 3/4 gallon, which lasts about a week. I keep it in the refrigerator and have a cup every morning on an empty stomach... sometimes cold, sometimes hot. Instead of lemon and honey, I add apple cider vinegar and a little raw sugar. I've only been drinking it regularly for a couple months although I learned about it a couple winters ago when I had it for a cold. I can't speak to medicinal properties, but the flavor is very refreshing. It seems that I've cut back a little on my morning coffee, too.

In Indonesia, the Javanese tribal groups use turmeric into healthy drinks called "Tamarind-turmeric drinks". They prepare the ingredients, like fresh turmeric, tamarind, sugar and water. They boil all these things and consume the drinks after it gets cooler.

Indonesia has more healthy drinks than people of the West think. I have just mentioned one. Unfortunately, young Indonesians tend to love Coca Cola, Sprite, etc. because they are nice. My pleasure

I'm definitely going to give this tea a try! I have short gut and I'm trying to find something to claim my stomach issues and pain. I throw up alot. I have to drink Ensure drinks daily and sometimes it keeps me in the restroom even more. I need a miracle tea or some type of very healthy nutritional drink that will give me some relief. Stop the sour stomach, heartburn and digestive issues I suffer daily. It's horrible. I'm up for anything right now. This sounds like a great tea for me to try. I might use milk instead of the tea but I want to give this recipe a try first then add my twist.

One whole clove & a piece of a cinnamon stick or bark would be ideal in this tea.
I love the taste of fresh turmeric root, its vaguely citrusy & is refreshing. I like it raw in salads finely chopped with apple cider vinegar hemp oil or walnut oil ( First cold Pressed ) some sea salt an herb of choice like lavender flower & a weeeeee bit of cayenne or chili pepper for just a hint of heat. I like this on a bowl of greens nothing else, ok maybe some spring onion. :D
