Part numbers for tow hooks added to the description!
Just passing time since you’re the only one posting a lot of videos about the vehicle. Your channel is supremely helpful and provides a lot of clarity. Thank you for taking the time to make them! Beef is great too!
Thank you! Glad it's helping pass the time!!
Dude i love your content you actually do stuff that we all think about but dont pull the trigger GREAT GREAT JOB!!!
Super helpful video's. Can't wait to see how the plastic bed side rails get removed because i plan on doing some paint matching on my Maverick. Keep the video's coming!
Thank you for this video. This was the very first thing I was going to do to my XL and have the two hooks powder coating read.
Hey I came across this just now, amazing video it answered a lot of my questions about these hooks - thank you!
Congrats on your 5k subscribers!! Can't wait to see the mods for your Mav. I have planned almost the same things as you talked about on your previous videos. I bet it's gonna look awesome. My Mav will be white so planning on changing whatever I can to black and some paint matching.
Thatll look 🔥 can't really go wrong with storm trooper look
Thanks Boom. What you showed in the video is really helpful. Hopefully Ford will at least get the welds for all Mavs because its super important when we go offroading.
Thanks for making this video, nobody else is doing this kinda stuff. I'm heavily considering buying a maverick and if I do it's definitely going to be an FX4
Great job man! Again, thanks for doing these videos.
Thank you for watching!
Thank you so much for posting this video…you totally answered my question if I’d be able to add the tow-hooks to a Lariat that doesn’t have the FX4 option
Great Video! So well done. It answered what I needed to know, and yep --- it is very disappointing that it won't work with non-FX4 models. I will be ordering the 2023 Hybrid Lariat and did some research on the Road Master base plate and tow kit to tow behind my motorhome. But there is zero info from both Ford and Road Master at this time, so I just have to wait until it is manufactured. Also, my local Ford dealer said they will not be installing the towing kit, but recommended Camping World to insure that the warranty would hold.
Loving these videos. Keep them coming!
Thank you!
love the channel keep it up! i am one of those people that have to see how everything works and how i can change/mod or make it better!
Now I know how fog lights will be mounted. Thanks for the video.
You bet!
Thank you very much for wasting a afternoon to answer this question
Wasn't really a waste, it's a question lots of folks have asked and I was able to answer. And the video paid for the time I spent doing it, so it's worth it
Very informative and Beef too! Thanks.
Welp, looks like I may need the FX4 package. Thanks for the info 👍
You bet!
I’m very surprised that that extra support isn’t in all the trucks just for ease of manufacturing sake. I’m happy that my order included the FX4
Yeah you would've thought that's what they would've done
The Rangers are the same way. The lower trim levels do not come with tow hooks or tow packages they’re not rated for it you have to have the FX package
@@revilsdr this is true, but you have to understand that the rangers tow hooks mounts to the frame. This makes a huge difference, the frame is a constant strong point. On the maverick, they add a completely new support to reinforce the tow hook and this support is only in the FX4. This is odd because it doesn’t span the entire line of maverick’s.
I'd bet the aftermarket for this little truck will grow very quickly.
really cant wait to see what headlight will be added. also if any rack, rail etc.. for the bed. great work
Hopefully have em finished up this weekend!
Appreciate all the info!
Thank you!
Thank you for the video. I didn't get the FX4 package but was wondering about later installing the recovery hooks. Looks like I will have to wait for an after market bumper.
Thanks for watching!
Thanks. I know nothing about cars but now I just have to watch. Hi Beef!
Haha thanks for watching!
Thank you for posting the video.
🙌
I like the detail in his videos a lot.
Thank you+
Very good to know. Thanks
Your dog's name is beef? Awesome. Keep the videos coming. I ordered a Maverick but not sure when it will get here.
Thanks for the content! For lighting there's some good ones on Amazon for the garage
Yeah. I have lights ordered. Just waiting on em to get here and then time to install!
This makes getting the FX4 package much more appealing for the $$. Props for having the balls to do that to a new truck that isn't yours.
I've done it to probably 25 brand new trucks so far this year. Albeit it was to customize them for the dealerships to sell, but taken apart and reassembled nonetheless.
It's a no brainer
Not yours to do that to do without approval.
I don't know if you have addressed this or not. But how hard would it be to put skid plates on it you don't have the FX4 package?
Thanks for the videos, this is like a kickoff for Mav mods!🙂. Can you please find out what kind of exra cost/work to get tow hooks in non equipt trucks. Even if its for wishing? Thanks, keep up the vids.
Great job 👏🏻
🙌🙌
break my heart man -- but thanks for the great work
I ran into the same issue with my ranger XLT you cannot add them on without changing out the valance and weren’t actually structurally usable as intended. If you want useable hooks and max tow rating you should go with trim models that have the factory tow packages etc it’s worth the money…
At least the brackets are there, might make a good mounting point for fog lights on non FX4 trucks.
Yep!
Loved the video! Does it look possible to fabricate a front mounted 2 inch receiver on this with or without the FX4 package? I use a SnowSport plow on my Subaru Baja, and would want to move it to here if I get a Maverick.
Unibody vehicles usually don't have a standard print as they're fitted with options during manufacturing.
No regrets subscribing you, awesome
🙌🙌🙌🙌
It’s a 30mm on the back of the tow hooks. For anyone wondering.
Would the lariat headlight be plug and play for XLT ? I would think the plug and harness would be the same.. also same thing for the taillights ?
I'll probably use those 2 bolts location to add aftermarket fog lights
Good video. Helped a lot. I like it for the looks, but im sure ill need a random tow at some point, and someone will rip my shit out lol.
Good thing I ordered the fx4 package
If tow hooks were a necessity, absolutely!
Dune buggy and a four wheeler, tow just in case lol
Nice floor. Is that glued down laminate? Waiting for ordered 2023 Maverick without tow hooks that will need them.
Hey MrBoom here in Toronto we have to have a front licence plate. I was thinking it would be nice to mount the plate on the left side of the bumper . do you have any idea's for a nice offset licence plate mount?
Great video! Would foglight work in the tow hook spot? Also would it be hard to modify the lower bumper, does it pop out or will cutting it be involved?
For non equipped trucks. If you have a steady hand, a Drexel will make light work of the bumper plastic to open up for foglights!
Exactly! A set of Diode Dynamics SS3s in there on custom bracket that attaches to the unused tow hook mounts would be sweet!
GO TONY!!!
He's the dude!
not sure if I missed you saying it but.. does your xlt have the towing pack ?
I know its a bit older video, but figured I'd ask anyhow.
Mine is going to be a hybrid, so no tow hooks anyhow. I was thinking though that the mounting points for the two 12mm bolts could be a good anchor point for fog lights.
Does the bumper cover have removable panels where the tow hooks would go, or would I need to do a bit of cutting to open up that hole?
If it doesn't have the opening already, you WILL need to cut/trim
I would like to know if the power adj / heated seats bolt and plug into non powered seats or xl xlt / the xlt premium pack is over 2k but I'd only want the power heated seats, rather just buy the seats
I just put 32" BFG KO2s on my Maverick after a 2" level lift. The driver front tire rubs the back of the ECU now. I remembered you took the front bumper off in this video. It helped me plan how to relocate some of the electronics in the driver side. Thanks!
Awe that's too bad that the portion that actually carries the load isn't common to all the trims, but good to know. And to those thinking that they'll just bolt it on with the little bolts, that tab looks like it's just there to keep the hook centered in the opening. It's not going to carry much load before the tab deforms.
Can I assume the square boxes in the lower bumper cover pop out and can be replaced with the tow hook version?
Perfect for fog lights
Came for the Maverick, stay for the Beef.
🤣🤣🤣
I’ve heard that parts are similar to the bronco sport, wonder if you can install a bronco sport brush guard on the fx4
Mr boom. Can u show us how we can access a hardwire car camera (blackvue) power connection from the (general area of the windshield rear mirror) to the 12v battery or the Fuze box or somewhere that has power?
I would like to add a 12v plug or USB near the rearview mirror and on the dashboard ,just like the ford bronco...
I work for a Ford Dealer as well. What exactly do you do / whats your role with them if you don't mind me asking?
I customize paid vehicles and vehicles for customers who want stuff done before taking delivery so they aren't without vehicle.
I'm hoping there will be a bullbar for this little rig one day 🙏
Do you think it would be okay to use the rear tow hitch as a recovery point with a recovery hitch in?
Don't see why there'd be any issues since it's attached to the "frame"
Id love to see if the outlet option for the bed is just plug and play on models without it.
What were your opinions on the interior of the lariat compared to your xlt? The active x more comfortable than the cloth?
Seats themselves were same as far as padding/comfort. Leather was nice
@@MrBoom50 That's good to hear! 👍 Thanks
hello! Have you checked out the hybrid version
How about heater side mirror and day time running light thanks
Not sure what you're saying?
Here is Austin area at Mac Haik Ford in Georgetown. We are also not marking up your special ordered units. This video is great. Personally have these two hooks (Orange from a Tremor unit). I guess that I will not be able to use them on my Maverick. Someone local wants at reasonable amoujnt reach out please.
I just got a stock unit for sticker. Markup is bs. These are not as sought-after as they hoped. Awesome truck. I'm excited don't get me wrong. 9 out of 10 dealers I called are not marking them up.
In hotter markets they're being marked up. This one has already sold.
@@MrBoom50 I don't doubt it. Dealers like this get rid of the price point people are expecting. I love your videos. I just think dealers like that are being greedy. Just my opinion. If people want to dish out an extra 10k, that's there prerogative.
@@kyleschmechel8695 picture this.. You Work for the largest volume Ford dealership in your area. There are a lot of sales people. The amount of inventory you guys have gets cut by 2/3. How are those employees supposed to make money? If inventory isn't available, and and the demand is high, comma you sell those products for what people are willing to pay. And does it suck? Absolutely.. But that's simple supply and demand
You get more with the tow package trans cooler different gear ratio bigger cooling fan and radiator. Fx package just showed bigger cooling fan and radiator. Wonder if the awd fx has a rear locker.
Rear locker in the bed? Yes it does. XLT version
@@ScooterPoot I meant did the rear axle come with a locker when you build one with the fx package it dosent say. I ordered mine with the tow package to suit my needs.
No locker for rear....
The big nut on end of tow hook looked like a nylon of some sort or had thread locker on it. I assume Mr. B. used thread locker on reassembly.
Now we have a place for fog lights! Change bumper caps.
What kind of floor is that in the Garage? It looks awesome.
Concrete. Check out my dream garage build playlidt
I have the hybrid on order. I'm really curious if the awd brackets are present on the hybrid.
Unlikely if they aren't on the non fx4 eco.
@@MrBoom50 That's what I was thinking. Too bad, I like the awd arms better.
So would you be able to mount lights there?
Absolutely, brackets are being designed!
Just curious (not trolling), what's so important about the tow hooks? Is it cosmetic that makes them desirable or are people actually expecting to be towed? If it's cosmetic, I'd paint them red.
Lots of folks are buying these because they're affordable and for their RV pull behind. I have absolutely zero desire to add towhooks to mine. This was purely for everyone asking.
If you're stuck (offroad, mud, snow. etc) or someone else is stuck you can use them to pull them or you out.
IS THERE A POSSIBLE WAY TO ADD STRUCTURAL SUPPORT TO THE TOW HOOK WITHOUT WELDING ONE? ANY HOLES TO BOLT ON THE FRAME?
I'm sure there's definitely a possible way and someone will figure it out
@@MrBoom50 MY MAIN ISSUE ON THIS TRUCK IS THE EXHAUST PIPE SITS WAY TOO LOW TO THE GROUND
COULD BE CRUSHED IF SOMEONE BOTTOMS OUT
MAYBE
YOU CAN MEASURE EXHAUST PIPE TO THE GROUND?
AND MAYBE RECORD THE WHOLE
UNDER BODY???
Saw the towing video for the uhaul and I was wondering how it held up with a loaded trailer and how much it actually weighed when filled?
Went over all that in the video. It did spectacular. Felt like the mini version of my f150 pulling an unloaded car hauler. Extremely pleased with how it did
Wondering how big is maverick next to a ranger
This easy to remove the front end???? i had the dealer replace the headlight cuz 1 day later saw it was a deep scratch on the passenger headlight and they chipped the paint in several areas on the side where they replaced the headlight.... lol
Are you thinking of putting in fog lights in that spot now?.. I hope you do and video it please.. Thanks!
I'll probably chop my bumper up and do it for sure!
I’m so torn… keep the f150 or get a maverick…. Great content thank you
Do both!
Get the hybrid Maverick and save $$
Fun experiment
Quick and easy!
I was thinking about whether you could add the tow hooks. Looks like there will be structure missing in non-FX4 trucks. Thanks!! Cheers!! 🤓
You bet! Thanks for watching
It would have been nice if you had taken a little more time showing the front bumper/grill removal process!
Good info, but why would anyone install toe hooks for “looks”???? But there are people out there that will do that. Great info.
"Toe" hooks? Are those for your Big Toe? 👣
Please consider using a hands free method of recording while driving.
You going to put fog lights on your truck? I'd love to see if that's at all possible.
I'll probably add them!
Hey you ever tried taking off the rear bumper?
Yep, I've removed everything. Will be posting. Video at some point
Does the owners manual say what the tow hooks are rated for?
I'd have to look, I'm honestly not sure
Nut! Nut Nut.... its a friggin Nut!!!!!
Can you get two car seat in the back seat of the in Maverick
I saw a post on one of the Maverick forums where someone squeezed 3 car seats in, but the middle one seemed like a very tight fit. Two should be an easy fit.
You can fit 3! As Bill mentioned the middle will be a tight fit tho
I love watching your videos but I would be so ticked off to find out somebody took my new truck home and disassembled it before I bought it. My first call would be to my lawyer. Great video though!
MOST people here either overlooked that point or simply don't care (have no more integrity than he has). SAD either way...
Had it been MY truck he did that to, my first "contact" would be HIM, not any lawyer.
-- BR
Unfortunately you have no idea what kind of life your new car has led prior to you buying it. You would probably be horrified.
@@dougf9900 Don't know what you mean by "new" -- a USED vehicle but is "new" to me or, a NEW vehicle never pre-owned?
Whatever, that's ONE reason I didn't buy my 2021 off-road/4x4 truck USED...I got it new. And didn't mind taking the large (well, not NOW "large" as the market -- both new AND used vehicles -- has changed presently) 1st-year depreciation hit, either -- it was worth it. It's ESPECIALLY true if buying a used 4x4/off-road vehicle, which may have been abused big-time (look at all the DFs on RUclips scratching/gouging/scraping/bending/breaking stuff on their vehicles, even some rolling-over. And all their likewise DF friends/spectators (drunk or not) shouting/laughing like idiots at the damage. Then later when the owners sell their vehicles they NEVER admit to any of that stupidity.
No thanks...I bought new.
As for this guy, what if he strips/cross-threads one of the bolts putting the "new" truck back together? Or gouges the paint under there where no one can see just looking at the vehicle from outside? Or crack/break a plastic part? Would he ADMIT it to the person/dealer? I'd say not -- it'd only be found out LATER by the new owners and they'd think Ford has crappy QC and some care-less line-worker did it, after all, it was a "NEW" 2021 Maverick, yes?
Point is, don't mess with anyone's vehicle WITHOUT "full-disclosure" and permission (of course), used or not. It's just not done if you have any right/wrong values.
As for NEW car dealers, TMK, dealers do NOT have to disclose any damage to a new vehicle that happened on the truck or on their lots, if it was BELOW a certain dollar amount, OR, unless the buyer ASKS (how many of us ASK?) -- as long as it was repaired to OEM/factory "like new" specs. If it was OVER a certain dollar amount, they MUST disclose any damage/repairs even without the buyer asking.
THIS guy wasn't even a dealer taking stuff apart on a NEW vehicle...he has NO business doing so.
-- BR
@@billredding2000 My point is is that many times damage done to new vehicles at the dealership is just quietly fixed and never disclosed. You also have no way to know if dealership personnel or other customers who drove the car before you abused it with harsh driving, etc.
@@dougf9900 I've already stated that and made my overall point so nothing more to be said. Done now,
-- BR
Darned. I was going to do this modification?
I am sure someone will come up with a solution. I bet the after market companies are already working on it.
Oh absolutely! Can't wait to talk to folks at sema next month!
Good video but sure would be mad if I found out my new truck was disassemble for a youtube video
Ive done numerous dealer vehicles. Albeit they were disassembled to be customized... not to be put back together stock.
It's literally what I do for a living.
Did they know you were going to take apart the truck when they let you borrow it? 😂 Nice job as always man 👍
They did not, I simply said I was going to see if the tow hooks would work
Now you have my color lol
🙌🙌🙌
Electrical connector 3 inches from the road wicked smat Ford !
You should do a tow hitch receiver install for all the lads that regret not ordering their Mavericks with one.
I already have a hitch, it'll be hard to do that. but the bumper is coming off so I'll show the components!
Adding you’re own tow hitch is the same way though it doesn’t have the same tow rating as a factory tow package.
My parents want one but don't want all the Lariat features. They do want the adaptive cruise control, but it's only on Lariat luxury. Do you think the adaptive cruise could be installed later on with an XLT Maverick?
Foe the cost to install it after the fact. Buy the lariat with it already
Curious, can anyone confirm this issue is same with the 2024 models?
literally nothing has changed or is special about 24s.
Those sneaky devils. 😆
Definitely makes it worth it for those who plan to go offloading for sure
seeing the bumper cover off clearly confirms the new Tremor front end will not fit on a 22 FX4....
