Thank you so much for video. I was waiting for it. Great video. so glad you did a video. there will be people watching this, they just haven't needed brakes yet, but then they will start looking for video. Questions: Where did you find info. to put into maintenance mode? I couldn't find it. If I don't do rotors, pads only: is the caliper piston in far enough to slide the pads in place? You hit menu button to get to a screen. What screen was that? What does the blurred words on screen say when you are at 20:38 on time line? So is this what you did to take it out of maintenance mode? 1. While holding brake lever up and pushing and keep brake pedal down. You then turned the key from off to on, (but not starting the engine) three times
@scooter12368 Thanks for the compliments. I looked on the web and a lot of general ford electric park brake related stuff but nothing specific to the Maverick. I was able to get into brake maintenance mode by pushing the ACCELERATOR pedal, pushing down on the electric park brake switch and turning the key two full positions to what would be the start position twice. To get out of brake maintenance mode I tried the same process but with the switch pulled up. When I did this it activated the park brake. I turned the key back to the off position and then back to on and it was out of Maintenance mode. I kind of did it on accident. What I read online about ford electric park brakes is that working on the brakes will trigger a check engine light that needs to be cleared but i did not have that issue. Its been at least a month of daily driving now and Ive had no issues. If you do pads but not the rotors, I am not if youll be able get them in without adjusting calipers. Depends how far down they are worn but it really wasnt hard to adjust the calipers. I am not sure what the message at 20:38 says. I dont remember and it cant make it out in the original video either but I have no engine lights on.
@@jerrygreene7139 Thank you! The hoses are pretty strong so I don’t worry about them breaking but if the caliper keeps falling off sometimes I’ll zip tie it in place
Chevy and vw have those on the back brakes also to turn the cylinder.
I believe if you apply -12 volt to motor for the calipers it will spin reverse.

thank you for the information you sent me. that helped clairfy@@PeckerheadFixesIt
Thanks for the info 😎
Any time!
Pays to know ahead of the effort.
Nice video! I wonder if it would be a good idea to use a wire hanger to support the caliper once it is disconnected from the rotor? Just a thought.

Harbor Freight sells the same tool kit.
Gotta love Harbor Freight for obscure tools youll only use once or twice
Why rotors so early
They had a groove worn in them, likely from the “brake grabby issue” this truck had the first year I owned it before I had it fixed
What’s the mileage on the odometer ?
Just over 40k
@@PeckerheadFixesItWow, that's low for a hybrid. Lots of freeway driving?
Yes. Mostly commuting to work
man i got one with 147000kms on it and its been ok just gotta do some evap work
I’m glad to hear they last that long. I really like mine and longevity is my only concern.
