- Loved these additions to the Maverick! These make the truck look better and more user-friendly and couldn't be more happy with them.

you can put a tinted strip on the top of the front window. helps A LOT
I also live in the desert and I use my sunshield in all weather. Plus it really helps w/ privacy, your tinted windows and sunshield make it even harder to peer in!
Accessorizing the Maverick has taking on a life of it’s own. I added many of these accessories myself
I’m glad I wasn’t the only person who struggled with the tailgate dampener
Yeah, I threaded the little nutuntil it was already pretty snug when I turned it 90 degrees then used the impact. Went super fast.
I have my 2023 Maverick on order (ran down to the dealer first thing Sept. 15th and got it ordered before they closed the desk again😁) This has shown me some great ideas of what can be done for upgrades...definitely will do the auto start/ stop ... as far as the tailgate assist, when dealing with installing blind nuts like that I use a couple small pieces of double stick tape to hold it, makes it quick and easy... Can't wait 'til mine gets here. Thanks for the tips

You may need to install noise dampeners on the doors, rear panel and under the hood. While your add it; the engine cover, ( saw that on an other channel) and if you take a look between the ‘A’ post and the inner part of the fender ( with door opened) on the drivers side you can see into the engine bay, passengers side also. Ford offers a plastic accessory to install within this opening. Then install a ‘ Catch Can ‘ on the engine. Then upgrade your sound system. Nice Upgrades, my MAV is also a Cactus Gray with more or less the same upgrades. Thx for the vid.

Nicely done video - crisply edited with very little unnecessary footage or talking. I hope you grow your channel. I definitely want to do the tailgate letters, but unfortunately, the dampener is a non-starter with the loss of the tie-down bracket. I haul 4x8 sheets and being able to put the ratchet straps on those brackets is vital.
Great job. Can't wait to get my Maverick on Tuesday then make it really my own.

Having the hold down point on the tailgate is much more practical than a soft open option.

I used a pry bar to hold the tailgate dampener “M” lock bolt. Also since I got the XLT a wireless charger and wireless car play was a must.

FM reception needs the longer antenna. The 30 inch rods were the best.
The length of the antenna is the same, it's just packaged into a much tighter coil. The real issue is the height. You're losing about 3 inches of height, which shortens your range. But if the same antenna were mounted roughly 3 inches higher both antennas would perform pretty much the same.
Thread the dampener plate "M-Lok" nut onto the bolt before hand far enough so it barely turns to the lock position once inserted. Used a narrow prybar or screwdriver to hold tension as you tighten it.

Pretighten the nut for the tail gate assist so it’s a bit tighter, then it’s easier to snug up
Look up “the shade” for windshield. So much better and easier to store since it folds onto itself like a shade on the windshield

Just got my hybrid. I did the tail gate letters and steering wheel cover. I'm getting floor mats, bed mat, soft cover soon.
Are letters on tailgate still on or do they fall off?
My tailgate letters are still on with no signs of coming off

Good video content; short and sweet. I like the look of the tailgate lettering. However, the adhesive sill protectors will deal with shoe/boot scuffs, so I'll maybe put the front pair 3"-4" more forward, where feet will clear the sill. I'm still waiting for my '23 2.5L Hybrid XLT (Hot Pepper Red) with Luxury Pkg. & Co-Pilot360, ordered last Sept.

Almost passed by on this video because it was made over a year ago. My XLT Hybrid is scheduled to go into production the week of April 8th and this video showed me some improvements on some of the accessories I'm currently looking at. Thanks for the excellent video!

Nicely done; short and sweet. Thanks for the info. I had to laugh at myself because for 5 or 6 seconds I wondered about how the Auto Start/Stop Eliminator would work on my '23 hybrid (LOL). On the Tailgate Lock, I wonder why they don't just sell a replacement for the T30 bolt with a hardened round head that takes a special socket key like the lock itself. A cordless grinder like criminals use to steal cats would defeat either lock in a minute or so. Thanks for all the links. Consider bed mat/rug, floor trays and possibly seat covers? Can't wait to follow your lead when my '23 comes in next year.
disabling auto start stop on a Hybrid would be the opposite of what a hybrid is about.
Now add some tuxmat floor mats, some some smokin seat covers, and a molle panel.
I would be interested in shutting off the back up alarm. Other electric vehicles have the alarm as optional. Turn it on is your choice!
Put the struts under the hood as well. That way you won't have to use the prop. Nice upgrades!
Thank you. I was thinking about doing that but wasn't 100% sold on them since I don't open my hood that much, but I will probably end up getting them anyway.

I agree that they are pricey for what they are but it is something I can use as content in a future video👍
I would like a 3d scan made cover for the outlet and C cable to protect that area from any mis haps
Really dug the video. Console organizers nice...but I got the safe upgrade and loooooove it, so im not missing it too badly.
I thought about getting the safe but I feel I don't have anything too important to lock up that isn't already on me. I'm glad it works for your situation though👍
@Desert Trek its one of those things that just provides an extra layer of security that may be overkill, sure...but for the cost its mighty luxurious haha. Im glad i decided on it.

Honestly I wouldn't want the tailgate damper even if it came with it, I honestly don't get why people make a big deal about that. I'd rather it just open and close quickly and freely...

I don't AM/FM, just Spotify. Sorry I couldn't be of any help

Just got my '24 yesterday. A mod that's high on the priority list for me would be some sound dampening for the engine. Does the Bronco Sport hood insulation fit? Maybe the engine cover would help as well but I don't know which version to buy. I think these 2.0L ecoboosts (mine) have been installed in many different models.

2 things, I wonder what the start stop eliminator does to the factory warranty? I am pretty sure you installed the piston for the tailgate dampener upside down so now moisture can get in.
Nice video, I test drove a Lariat trim hybrid Maverick today. My son and I liked it, but it was used and they were asking new price for the truck, because they knew they could at the Ford Dealership near me.
I'd like to drive a hybrid. They are really cool but they don't come in AWD so I had to get the ecoboost. Best of luck finding a Maverick at a decent price.
@@deserttrek I think I am going to wait until the online ordering is back for them. Dealerships are cheating the public. I think I want the AWD base model with a spray in bedliner and Area51 paint 🤔 and the 4k towing package

great video with nice mods. Especially the tailgate damper. The door sill protectors on the other hand look tiny and cheesy too me. And why would you want to disable the start-stop function? I'm always wondering about that?
Thank you! The door sill protectors I don't think are worth it if I'm being honest, especially at the price point. Now the auto start-stop eliminator is more personal preference. I don't like how the vehicle jerks a little bit at lights when I accelerate. So if that doesn't bother you I'd stick with auto start-stop since it saves gas.👍
The start-stop function also does inflict more wear on the spark plugs, which ford is already notorious for not having very good quality ones. I work at a dealership and we are constantly getting in 2018 and newer cars with spark plugs already giving out sadly. although i am not going to pay $100 to not press a button lol

Yes it is to prevent theft if you leave your tailgate open.

Don't you have a cup holder in the arm rest in the rear seat on the lariat. Also I put my sun shade along side either driver or passenger between the seat and the center console works for me. I do dig the center console addition, gate damper, wish softopper made a canopy, or wish they had a powered bed slide.
I do have cupholders there. I think I'm going to keep a trash can there instead of the cup holder. I'll have to try putting my sunshade there then see if it is comfortable for my wife, thanks!
Did you put a seal coat on the paint, because I herd that the paint is very thin. I am doing that when I get my Maverick.

Tint the top 5-6" of the windshield.

I bought mine from Don Chalmers Ford in Rio Rancho. They sold me mine at MSRP. I'm not sure about the other dealerships in ABQ, sorry.

Does the auto stop/start eliminator affect gas mileage ?
So the point of auto start stop is to increase fuel economy by turning the engine off at stop lights. With that said it will negatively effect fuel economy but at the moment I'm still getting 25mpg.
Is there a way to hide the lettering on the tailgate? I want a smooth tailgate with no lettering.

I would assume any light color cover, but I'm honestly unsure. There might be a youtube video comparison between bed covers exterior and interior temperatures. Sorry I couldn't help more.
Everyone seems to want to enhance the lettering on the back. Is there anything to eliminate it? I dont want lettering on my truck.
Not to my knowledge. There may be a company that makes blank tailgates that you can swap out with, though. It's worth looking into👍

From the Amazon reviews it looks like it will effect the antennas reception. I personally don't listen to the radio often so I couldn't give you a definitive answer.

@@brucewayne857 I like the stubby not for it's looks, but more for it's ability to allow other things to go over it say if you had a roof rack with a carrier. As well I am thinking of a bed camper build and I want to go over the cab.

I wasn't planning on doing it just for the reason of visibility at night. My wife and I go on lots of road trips and sometimes that leads to long night drives in the middle of nowhere. I'd like to give myself the best chance of not hitting a coyote, deer, or elk that jumps into the road.

I've never heard of someone stealing a tailgate here in oregon. Is that a common thing in your area?
I live in Albuquerque NM and usually, they will just steal your whole vehicle😂. I haven't personally heard of someone getting their tailgate stolen, but it definitely happens. I don't personally think most people will ever need one of these on your tailgate (especially with a locking tailgate), but I wanted to include it just incase someone was worried about it or had this happen to them in the past.
I am floored by how expensive those accessories from Ford are. $139 for the door sill protectors and $109 for the tailgate letters?
I agree. You can find cheaper versions of all the accessories now (thankfully) on Amazon and Etsy. I'll be making a video going over what is worth it in a couple of weeks so stay tuned

Ya thats just a badge door seal... they are protecting very little, though they do look cool.

Correct, it doesn't void the warranty. It is a great truck that is worth the wait.
I noticed another plug that's hang from the start stop device once you made the connection, does it not get plugged in anywhere?
It doesn't plug into anything so it just gets secured with zip ties

Why turn off the auto stop?
I don't like that when I accelerate from a stop, the car jerks a little bit. It is just something that bugs me enough that I want it off
Because its just going to wear out your starter and battery. Nothing like running 80mph on the highway and then getting off an exit where your engine shuts down at the first red light. No flow for the turbos to cool down. No thanks I will keep my Maverick running please.
