There is an obvious need for this category of truck (especially the Hybrid) and I like it alot, but there seems to be a growing list of design/manf issues that concerns me wrt its future reliability. Hopefully these will get straightened out soon. What I'm really looking forward to though is for Toyota to enter this category....
We have bought Toyota RAV4 and Highlander Hybrids partially due to you. We were about to buy a 2023 Toyota Venza hybrid until last week. Since we live in Arizona now we decided to forego the Venza since we already have a Highlander Hybrid and go with a Ford Maverick XLT Hybrid. I was shocked to see you doing reviews for the Ford, but glad as we enjoy your informative, and entertaining videos. Keep up the good work!
@3:30 you missed the best part of the tailgate. When it is set on an angle like that, it is level with the wheel wells. It can carry a 4X8 sheet of plywood flat.
Happy with my XLT Hybrid so far. 42+ mpg. If I had ordered it I would have added the trailer hitch but I bought it after the customer got tired of waiting and bought something else. Only $100 extra but if you buy it later it's $305 plus installation.

Had to buy from a local seller that bought from the mainland and had one shipped. Ford needs the manage the local dealers. Ridiculous to buy at 22k truck Fr 48k with nothing Leeway.
I see this as a great truck for service companies, pickup bed, storage, apple carplay, 42 mpg city, 20k. Sounds great if you need 10 trucks for your company! Put a ladder rack on top and a bed topper on with a tool storage system in the back you have a great setup for daily service work for plumbers, electricians, handyman, internet companies, you name it. Maybe even add an eco boost v6 and make a cop car out of it!
This will be my first car/truck ever I’m very excited I just moved to the desert and was going to get a Honda sport since I lived in LA but now I live on a super bumpy dirt road not really good for regular street tires so this is a must have for me. Also storage and in case of moving big things.
Wish it had cruise control on base model, 60/40 rear seats split, rear vents and trunk within the bed like Honda ridge line and Hyundai Santacruz. If the 2023 model has any of these features it could be the perfect family car.
The funniest thing about Maverick is that all reviewers tell us how good is the vehicle and that it's most affordable pickup truck ever made and we need to hurry up purchasing it while in real life you have zero chance to get it because there is no Mavericks available all across US lol

Finally a reviewer who did not knock the small cubby to the right of screen. I will definitely find something to use it for if I ever get my hybrid maverick. Been almost 8 months since ordered and no vin number or build date.

You missed the actual reason for propping up the tailgate. It's because the top edge of the tailgate becomes flush level with the fender wells and wood inserts so that drywall and plywood lays flat and level and evenly supported.
I have a '22 Maverick XLT AWD, FX4 and Luxury packages, and moon roof. So far I really like it. However, the two 110 power outlets (one in the bed and another behind the center console) seem to be just this side of worthless. They don't have the power to run a small air compressor or a basic Black and Decker noncommercial circular saw. I'm wondering if it has the ability to power a piss ant's mini-bike around the circumference of a BB?? But everything else is pretty much great.

The title is a little bit misleading don't you think? I was under the impression that you were reviewing gadgets and add-ons to the Ford Maverick that you can find at the Ford accessory site and other places. This is just a review of the truck. I've seen dozens of those.
No, but as I have seen in the forums, a popular (and semi easy) modification is to swap out the rear view with the Kia homelink mirror. You can tap power right at the dome light and gain a garage door opener, auto dimming, and a compass. I recently purchased the mirror from an online retailer for $30.
There are few annoying things about the maverick.. the tools needed to pull out the spare tire is located underneath the rear seat.. but if you have a child seat, its going to be annoying to access the spare tire tools.. and to remove the spare tires you will need to somehow kneel or crawl underneath the vehicle to unbolt the nut in order to grab the spare tire.. once youre done changing tire, you will have to put the tool back underneath the rear seat and then put back the child seat… what a pain
With the versatility of the truck bed, I just strap the kids in back there, and then flat tires are much more easily addressed. I tried leaving the twins home once for a quick trip into town, but believe me when I tell you that just was not a good thing!

Access cab with a longer bed on the same platform is needed as a option. Then a fleet vehicle option would be available viable. Thanks for the review.
Sounds like an awesome idea, for us regular folks we can see how it will hold up since fleet vehicles tend to be used and abused.

They are OEM matches but cost extra. If you want both carpet and rubber its $175. If you just want the rubbers, it's $135
