Guys take this mans advice. I watched this video tonight after my Ipad Pro has been sitting for 6 months unable to power on or charge. Apple wanted $1000.00 to replace the ipad pro. I watched this video and tried an apple 18W factory charger and after 5 minutes my Ipad came back to life!!! Thank you Matt!!!!!!!
This definitely works! I was so scared I’d have to pay for a replacement. I’m a little annoyed I had to pay so much for the original chargers but I guess it’s for the best. Thanks for posting this. Everything I found online had me thinking it was a battery, hardware, or update related issue. This video is priceless!
Thank you for this post and for everyone's comments. This saved my a$$ because it was my work iPad and I thought I had somehow damaged the charging port. Tried multiple chargers and cords and nothing helped, but once I watched this and pulled out the factory charger, it started charging and life was wonderful again!

It seems like there’s been a rash of this issue in the last few weeks. As you did, I replaced my factory-issued cord and adapter with “better” ones, eg expensive 30 W Anker power adapter and a 10’ braided Anker USB A to USB C cord. I don’t have the originals with me so I guess I get to enjoy a very expensive brick for a few days until I go home.
OMG, it WORKED!!!! You have no idea how many chargers and battery packs I tried. I even bought the new Magic Keyboard (spent $300) hoping it would charge through the new USB-C port. I tried everything except the original charger until saw this! Thanks a lot, You're a Lifesaver!!
Thank you! I couldn’t find the original charger but this gave me an idea to plug it into the usb-c port of my Mac Mini (2018) overnight and it worked this morning!

Worked perfectly, thank you. No matter what charger I used the battery symbol constantly blinked. Once I found the original charger and cable. I got the battery symbol solid. And now it’s charging as normal. Thank you so much for this splendid advice.
I guess everybody here who comments on the INSTANT success with using the REAL DEAL APPLE charger and cord… we must all be twins! It solved my problems too. I learned a lot about this stuff today. I had no idea that a lightening connector has a chip in it… with what looks like 8 or 10 components on a little circuit board. Who knew?! ☺️👍

I swear I’ve been using the normal iPad charging cord and brick and was not turning on or charging but as soon as I watched the video and tried it again it turned on right away😅 thank you for the good luck lol
I had the same problem today. I wasn't able to find my ipad charger but I used my Macbook charger and it came on. I suspect that if you let your battery drain 100% dead, you have to use a high capacity charger to kick it back into functioning properly.
Does it work with any Cables when it is turned on? Because i doubt that, because my charger has a higher capacity that the original cable and it still doesn't work

a q Some other people have commented that any USB C style charger seems to fix this issue. It needs to be a true USB C charger and not one that you just have an adapter cable plugged into.

It probably took 20 to 30 minutes for my iPad to boot up. The positive sign that it was working is that the symbol stopped flashing on and off constantly. This told me that the unit was charging and not just constantly turning the connection on and off.
@@zercool6 same here. It's not blinking as much but the screen is still white (along with the usual apple logo screen). But it's not doing much following that. Did everything you did but it's still on the apple logo screen. Blinking slower, but still there on that apple logo screen.

I was having the same problem tonight where an iPad Pro was not charging with the third party charger. Using the Apple charger fixed that.

@@olliger603 the charger has to comply with the power delivery (PD) standard that apple uses in their charger, not all manufacturer use that

I think Apple must of screwed something up with these updates. Mine was definitely at a decent charge - woke up the next morning - DEAD.
