My wife's iPad wouldn't charge, took it to Apple Store. The tech looked at it for about 15 seconds in right front of us and said we need to buy a new one. Completely useless.

iPad air 3rd gen bought 1.5 years ago...and now it won't open even after I put it on charge. Finally after many attempts it did open and it just shows 1% and won't increase from there 🙂

It’s the cable!! Reset didn’t work . Changing sockets didn’t work. So borrowed a neighbours cable and bingo!! Thanks guys!
All well and good, but mine has the charging symbol activated but after being on charge for over 2 hours it’s still down to 29% ?
If all else fails, take a paper clip and scrape the bottom to clear any debris. They advise against it but it worked for me. Proceed with caution.
Hard reset mine twice, tried three cords with two USC chargers and one USB end on my vehicle (which charged my earbuds fine). No joy. Games worked and so on with it. Decided I had to take it to Best Buy for the extended warranty and did hard kill on power again. And….it turned itself on (I had it on a table, wasn’t touching it) and now charges. 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏼

Mine has the red dead battery symbol show up when I try to power it on but I’ve been trying to find outlets all day. Been on outlets like a couple hours worth of time but still won’t turn on
guys! i think its not your ipads fault or the adapter, its the charging wire itself, because i just switched mine and its actually charging faster than it ever has before.

I took mine to a repair shop theyve had it for over a month. Theyve tried everything from replacing the charging port, restoring it to factory settings, to inspecting every part of the motherboard. They cannot figure it out. And now my second ipad is doing the same thing and ive lost all hope.

If you have ipad 7th,8th,9th gen 10.2, you have to use a 20W charger, dont use 1W or 5W iphone chargers for iPads

IT WORKED!!!! My iPad (brand new and owned only a few months) wouldn’t charge so my husband and I bought a new charger set. It still didn’t charge. I did the hard reset just like the video said and viola! My iPad is charging now and I have extra cords. 😊

My iPad will say not charging, sometimes it will charge, and sometimes a message will pop up saying “This Accessory May Not Be Supported” . This is me using my actual charger that came with my iPad. I used my cousins and it charges fine. Does this mean it’s my charger? Because it’s not torn on the cable and it’s clean. I even took apart a piece of the brick of the charger and it’s clean.

The problem is that my charger worked just fine before updating to iOS 12. Another charger works, but this charger stopped working. No damage, no hardware issues. iOS 12 sucks, basically.

Hey guys, thank you so much. You saved my wife some $400 to $600. I will add something to your advice. When you press both buttons to restart it, do it several times. I did this for 4 days off and on, I didn't give up. On the 4th or maybe 5th day, it totally shocked me, there it was all charged and ready to go. Thank you again and remember, don't give up!!

I ended up cutting a QTip at an angle, put a little rubbing alcohol on it, and poked around inside the phones port. Plugged it in about 5 minutes later. That started charging it for me.
I was having a panic attack because my iPad wasn’t charging and my parents would literally destroy me if it broke but gues what THE CHARER BLOCK WAS NOT IN SMH (im 10 so that gives reason to my parents being mad)

My iPad says its charging even though it isn’t connected to a charger. Then it drains so easily.
That's what was happening to me, you take out the charger and reset it by first holding the home button then quickly press the turn off button at the same time, then attach the charger to the reseted ipad and it will fix it!

Turn the phone off and charge. You cant see progress, but it works. Software preventing charging. Don't get DFU, because, it's just like a factory reset. You'll lose everything. Maybe a regular update will cure in the future.
@@tannert560 I noticed that when I charge my iPad and it says not charging,(my iPad is kinda messed up on the charging port) I leave it there to charge for a good 5 hours. Then it charges back to at least 50% sometimes 100.

See, I can be on my iPad while it’s charging, and it won’t even charge it will just go down (I’ve never had this problem until last night) and when it died, I plugged it up and left it off, and after AN HOUR AND A HALF it was only at about 20 percent

Hey, so my iPad does not charge by the charger given by apple, however if I charge it with another cord and plug then it works perfectly, what’s the problem?
It sounds like your apple cable could have a short in it. You can either replace that cable or just stick with any other cable you have it just wont have the quick charge feature. Hope you subscribe! :-)

Thank you very very very much Guys! The hard reset worked but I had to add a twist to it... So I did the reset and nothing BAH junebug. So I did it again after waiting for at least 5 minutes, I think that the waiting part is very important as it never worked the first couple tries but after watching, and now waiting on the 3rd attempt it worked! I believe the recent update has something to do with it. Anyhoo my young son is a happy boy now, thanks guys!

I can't get my iPad Pro(purchased in March, 2019) to charge. I've tried different power outlets, my charging cord is like brand new right out of the box. The cable isn't damaged, bent, or even a bit dirty. The newer iPads have a C port for charging, etc. I've blown into all the openings on each end of the cord and AC adaptor and also used a soft toothbrush to clean it out. All openings look empty with no damage that I can see. I'm not able to plug a C into my laptop, and I only have the one charging cord that came with the iPad. Unfortunately, both ends of these new cords have a C connection which then plugs into the AC adaptor brick that then plugs into the wall. I don't have a dongle that converts a C to USB to try on my laptop or with another brick. My software is updated to version 13.4.1. I tried a hard reset holding the power and one of the volume buttons. I powered it off and back on and still nothing. The iPad doesn't show sign or make sound like anything's plugged into it. Other suggestions?? I'm now at 1% charge.

My problem is when my iPad won’t charge in my room outlet I have a charger plug with 2 USB ports where the plugs go and when I plug it in it won’t charge but with my phone it does but with my iPad it doesn’t I even hard restart it or force reset but I haven’t checked if it was dirty.
Thank you guys for all your hints. I’m a 70 year old retired doctor. My first Apple was the ‘83-‘84 version which is still pristine in its Mac bag with all the cables and drives that came with it. Next year I began upgrading my Mac every 1-2 years and I’ve held on the them as well. Used to be one of the few around who would take them into my office to use them. That’s the backstory. Still have all of these classic old Apple laptops as they were, but I’ll be ripped if I can stay up with the new stuff. You guys make entertaining and fun. Thanks again.

Great video! 1 minute into this video and I figured out the nightmare I was going through! I just had to do a hard reset. My iPad wouldn’t charge, it would stay at 1% then shutoff everyday for about a week until I saw this video! Thanks guys for uploading this info! Apple store really don’t want to help you fix anything..there way of fixing a problem is buy telling you, you need to buy a new one 😅

My iPad Pro 10.5 started with the "charging -- yeah, not really" bug last night. Doing the hard reset holding home and power buttons for 20-30 seconds as shown in the video fixed it -- nice! I couldn't even find the correct procedure on Apple's support site, but this RUclips video got me up and running again!
