Lightning charging ports are junk apple needs to rework and rethink there shitty lightning charging junk im tired as hell of them coming loose . They make lots of money because they know its a shitty system they created. They know 90% of the people that bring them in to get fixed will just upgrade to a brand new device before putting there phone or ipad in the shop so to speak

Surprised to see how many have similar problems. I’ve got the severe angle thing. Can get it to make contact for a little while by duct taping the cable down. I must have a great cable since I’ve been abusing it this way and it still works. One layer made it much easier to make contact. I am going to try another and see if I can make it somewhat normal. I bought a refurb for the cost of a repair and that one quit charging after 6 wks, I’m waiting to get its replacement . Same problem I bet. Thanks for the video!

The problem with most iPads with a lightning port, is the port inside the housing has broken traces. So although this technique may work for some cases, most have broken internal port.
This is funny though because I get so many customers who tell me they tried the electrical tape trick & it didn't work. And I finally found this video that shows this trick lol

Fantastic video to re-affirm ideas that i thought may work but not knowing if it would or without damaging the port for good 👌🏼
I also used one of those little dental brushes - not a toothbrush - but the little sticks with bristles used instead of dental floss, dipped in some distilled white vinegar and gently poked around inside the port and on the lightning connector, immediately dab with a paper towel, dry naturally in fresh air then stuck the electrical tape in with the toothpick - which was GENIUS - and Voila!
I went from a depleting 12% upset I couldn’t watch Netflix (other channels available!) in the hot tub to 100% and elated in no time 🤩
    Cheers Bro 👊🏼
Checking out your other links later and hope to “buy you a coffee” ☕️ as you just saved me a new iPad 🫶 but more importantly I can turn the hot tub back on 😅

I’m gonna try that with kapton tape. Electricians tape will smear when the device warms up a bit, but I think kapton won’t because it’s designed for heat resistance …

Don’t do it! Becomes a mess with the glue residue. Better trick, get one of those thin plastic strips that come out of a toy or electronic item that keeps the batteries from contracting. Works great, you just need to keep track of it. Been using it for months now with no issues. You may need to trim it as with the tape. What a mess that was, took me an hour with alcohol and thick paper towel and tooth pick.
