  • As hot as the weather has been, it probably would have been hotter had BLADE Show 2020 not been cancelled. L.T. Wright steps away from his shop for a moment to talk all things bushcraft, including the new GP Medium, an everyday carry fixed blade. Check out more about L.T. I liked L T W Knives before this. I like them so much more after this interview, this guy knows what’s up! Extremely well spoken and a great ideology on knife making and makers in general! Bravo Sir, 👏 bravo
And thanks so much to David and KnifeCenter for giving a platform to this great maker!

Never looked at L.T.’s knifes. Thought his handmade blades would be way too expensive. Nice surprise though. Reasonable prices!

I never knew L.T. Wright knives were made in Ohio. He seems like a really good guy and he definitely puts out some extremely nice fixed blades. It's really cool to hear him talk about teaching people the craft. Great guy/great interview/great video.

The Great Plainsman is one of my favorite fixed edc's.

I just received my LT Wright GNS from KnifeCenter today. What a great mail call. Needles to say, I am in love with it! It sure does look like the very GNS that David held up, lol. Snakeskin micarta with red liners. Beautiful knife! It's O1 though, not AEB-L. My first LT, but because I'm both a user and collector, I doubt it will be my last.

I started to buy LTWs before any other knives. And I am very happy to have a number of their outings. Great knives they are! From whatever parameters one uses!

Great interview. Love LT’s knives. Had a few for many years and they work great. The GNS handle still beats everything I have.

I use my Bushbaby as my edc fixed blade. I was hesitant if it would be good as an edc in urban environment, but it proved itself fantastically.

Loving this series of videos! Also, as a result of this video I'm taking a second look at L.T.'s knives. When I first looked them over they didn't really connect with me. However, after hearing what the gentleman had to say, I can't help but feel like I need to give them another once over. Certainly a craftsman I want to support.

Love The Look Of The Medium . Small & Medium Tasks Are Typically 80 % Of Knife Tasks Done So The Most Useful Knife Is A Knife That You Will Use Most Of The Time . Looks Really Cool Too . Fat Blade , Good Handle, Good Sheath . I Want The GP Medium . The Python Micarta Looks Really Cool .

Would love a Great plainsman in stag or elk,but i can't find any at all. I've seen some on the secondary market but everyone refuses to ship to Sweden...even tho it's perfectly legal to ship to Sweden.

Can't fold the sheath over the knife to save my life
I'm thinking the sheath design could definitely have been redone

Very nice blade but i don't like the sheath system at all. I like to carry mine scout carry. So that counts me out.

    • @axeguy3856
      @axeguy3856 3 года назад +1

A decent sheath protects your knife and keeps it secure and your person safe. It also reduces noise-important for hunters, hikers, and police/military. And a good sheath will, through good design and materials, keep its weapon from damaging its self. Make a deal for knife-only and make or borrow a sheath from a similar-sized knife. I'm always swapping sheaths off my Bark Rivers-cuz their sheaths over the last couple of years are heading to more dual belt/dangler + scout, all done in the nicest, thick leather and heavy snaps.
Doing your own kydex from kit or raw materials. Imitate looks you like and methods of construction.
If you are lucky enough to have a real aboriginal artisan in the friend group or family, get something historical, beaded, ceremonial, etc.
Get the sheath you want-always. Don't ever let a bad sheath turn you off a great knife!

Yeah he's a knifemaker not a videographer, but still that doesn't have anything to do with it. It's a recording of a live video conference. Quality of video is at the mercy of internet speed. Now Google LT Wright knives on Google maps. Yeah, he's got satellite internet at best.
