    Great review brother! LT makes my favorite knives as well. The gns is an all time classic and what I would consider an heirloom while still being an actual user. Sold all my bark rivers and don’t even look at them anymore these days. LT’s exude a genuine quality and spirit the barkies just don’t seem to capture. Great heat treat. The best handles. Great blades. Good people behind the craftsmanship. I couldn’t be a bigger fan. Love the scripture as well. Rock on

    I have the GNS in 01 tool steal and I love it, it was the first high end knife that I ever purchased. It isn't my go to knife these days but I'll never part with it. LT makes a great product and are VERY competitively priced in my opinion......no they aren't cheap but they are heirloom quality, the JRE sheaths are high quality..... your grandchildren will have a quality tool. Buy once cry once I say...it's true you can get buy with less expensive tools but I personally take great pride and pleasure in using a finely crafted tool. Some of my friends and family mock me over my collecting of fine Swedish axes but again, it really gives you the warm and fuzzies to use a nice tool.

    Very true about the fit and finish. LT Wright fit and finish is worlds above Bark River. I like bark river designs and their convex grind, but in my opinion, for the price of their knives their fit and finish issues are absolutely unacceptable

    Thanks for the review. More importantly, thank you for the encouragement from Scripture. I sure needed that today. Been looking at the GNS for some time. Will make the purchase someday. I hear people talk of purchases second hand or used. I’ve never been able to find any camping/bushcraft items second hand anywhere. If I do see things for sale, they are ready for the trash or people put their special mark up price on them. Once again, thanks for the encouragement!

    • @RevHiker
      @RevHiker  3 года назад +1

      I was between the Genesis and this... I had some other blades with the more rounded tip, and thats what pointed me towards this. Eventually I want a Genesis or bushcrafter. Have a next Gen inbound

      Please, which steel do you like more out in the field, A2 or 3V? I mean, as a user steel and not as "edge retention" CPM quality etc. Just as a user, which one do you like more to use? (Field sharpening, cutting ability (carbides play their role) edge stability (chips or rolls) etc. Thanks in advance

    Yeah so I had ordered a survive knives gso literally last year and still not gotten it and not that I don't own other knives but I just have very little patience and I was able to grab a LT GP medium in aeb-L as my first knife made by him and while the edge was less than impressive (used knife) I was able to get it exactly where I wanted it in no time at all and it has made me want to start looking into other knives by him the handles are just so comfortable in the hand it is amazing! Great video brother and stay blessed 🙌

    Question: I have a GNS Sabre, 3V blade but with Richlite handle (Feels like G-10). I find it to be handle heavy (balance point almost exactly between the first two pins). Would love to know the balance of your Micarta knife...if not to much trouble. Thanks

    • @RevHiker

    I own the GNS in high saber too. For me it is really disappointing. Way to thick behind the edge. Featersticking, carving and food preparation is mediocre. They are way better options out there. You really need to believe if you think that knife is perfect.

    • @greekveteran2715
      @greekveteran2715 3 года назад +2

      That's the reason I didn't get it, because I noticed the low saber grinf line. The only maker I know of, who makes saber grinds with super thin behind the edge blades, is the Survive knives with their GSO series. Their GSO 4.7 is a dream knife for me, unfortunately, I live in Greece, which means it's very difficult to geit it here. If I where you,I would either take the knife to a guy who could reprofile it thinner, or try it myself, which is what I have done to all my saber grind knives.

    Praise Jesus ....I wasn't expecting a message from the Lord , thanks brother🙏
    This knife is also on my list , like you I might have to sale some stuff LOL . I have lots of bibles from doing reviews on my channel I might sale a few. I used to give all of them away 100s of them actually but I had to stop online gifting. ..long story.
    Anyways probably gonna give someone an awesome deal and sale them as a batch for way less just to get a nice LT blade.
    I have plenty of mid range knives but always wanted a premium blade ... Right now the most expensive knives I have are my Tops Brakimo and Ontario Sk5 . I also have a Becker bk18 Harpoon which I added micarta scales to so its also in that price range of $100 .
    I just feel like I'm always chasing the real deal instead of buying the $200 knife I buy a bunch of $60-$100 blades 🤣 That GNS design grabbed my eyes years ago , it just screams comfort. I gotta get one with liners though cause I want mine to be thicker and have a bit of eye candy pop.

    VERY NICE VIDEO, EVEN THOUGH, AT THE BEGINNING, YOU DID NOT PUT THE CAMERA PROPERLY, SO, WE COULD NOT SEE, WHAT YOU WERE DOING WITH THE KNIFE, BUT, ANYWAY, IN TOTAL, IT WAS VERY DETAILED. I THINK, THAT LT WRIGHT'S KNIVES FROM USA, THEY ARE PROBABLY, ONE OF THE BEST. THE PROBLEM IS THAT NOBODY BRINGS THEM IN GREECE AND IN GENERAL, THE MOST OF THE STUFF THAT COMES OVER HERE, IT IS EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE. FOR EXAMPLE, THE BENCHMADE 162 BUSHCRAFT COSTS 360€, UNBELIEVABLE. BECAUSE, YOU SPOKE IN THE END, SPIRITUALLY, IT COULD BE NICE TO GO AND VISIT THE GREEK ORTHODOX MONASTERIES IN ARIZONA THAT THE SAINT EFRAIM FROM ARIZONA BUILT THEM AND ALSO, TO READ HIS PROPHECIES. IT COULD BE HELPFUL. GOD BLESS YOU, HAPPY AND BLESSED CHRISTMAS. ΚΥΡΙΕ ΕΛΕΗΣΟΝ.
