Really inspiring. Even some of the other tech youtubers I grew up watching, like Austin Evans for example, they’ve kinda become more and more annoying throughout the years, yk?
yes and he is passionate/chose a broad field that will never go out of style. This can continue to be lucrative for him because technology will always be in existence as long as humanity is thriving compared to people who choose the route of things like couples channel, roblox content creator, animal crossing content creator all of which have a very short lifespan in terms of popularity, relatability, relevance. Not only has he been able to build trust with his audience but he is respected by major brands and executives at the companies.

Titanium is also 3 to 4 times more resistant than stainless steel, is non magnetic and the oxidation that happens on its surface forms a coat that protects it from corrosion
More resistant to what? That’s a bit weird blanket statement. Titanium is lighter but is also softer than steel. Softer means more prone to scratching. Also how often has it been a problem that people’s stainless steel iPhones rust? I think stainless steel is sufficiently resistant to corrosion. I own a titanium body watch and I prefer the visual look and feel of a steel watch. Titanium is darker grey in color and somehow always looks a bit dirty.
I’ve never seen anyone having issue with rust on their phone 😂 I’ve had corrosion issues with my charge port though since I work with a lot of fertilizer and it falls in my pocket where my phone is upside down, I have to clean my port like once a month because it stops charging lmao. Titanium won’t be in there though
Your phone isn’t going to oxidize as it’s coated in paint. Have you ever seen a rusty phone? Titanium is just totally worthless on a phone. The phone is wrapped in glass and that’s the breaking point which matter most. And of course like 90% of your phone is a screen which can be penetrated and damage can be done to the internal of your phone through that means. It just makes no sense and is just a means of raising the price of the phone. Aluminum was good enough
I think they will make the switch to USB C for all models as they will have to sell the 15 even 2 years later so they can’t sell the 13 and 14s by that time
This is always such a fun time for leaks/rumours because it’s close enough that shops are already being prepped on specs for selling! I was talking to someone in an Apple Store recently and they basically confirmed that all the new 15 line is gonna have the dynamic island, which we already knew, but it’s nice to hear it confirmed
As a Brit (Scottish) loving the pronunciation of aluminium 😃 also European regulations have forced the usb-c change let’s not pretend it’s anything else.
Apple will probably surprise us with something cool. Nobody saw that dynamic island coming last year. If only it came on more often it would be so much cooler.
What I’d like to see with the action button: 1.ability to use with shortcuts 2. Action profiles linked to what focus time is set. 3. Long press and multiple push options.
The best "move" apple will do is make the port usb-c then make the lightning cable a new dongle which you can plug the usb-c cable to the lightning cable and make it "revolutionary"
I still really like my 13 Mini, but for me, Titanium is a selling point, colour types and USB-C. Not really that bothered about bezel, action button ir much else. I hope one day, they bring back the Mini though. A titanium Mini with a better battery would really do it for me.
I've noticed a significant performance decrease with the watchOS 10 beta on me 1st gen SE so them putting faster chips in the new watches would not be surprising at all. Could be their way of trying to nudge users with older devices like me towards an upgrade.
Given that Tim Cook is the previous COO and primary handled supply chain, my bet that given the fact that if you can buy a crap ton of anything it becomes cheaper per unit, it would probably be USB-C for both. But the pro gets thunder. Because what happens after lighting? Thunder. That's it. That's the branding. (Also Thunderbolt is an Intel trademark).
Thunderbolt being trademarked isn't a barrier to using it, Apple codeveloped the standard and uses the official trademark on their ARM Macs. The biggest barrier is that they would need to design a PCIe interface and Thunderbolt controller into the much smaller A series phone processors, and there wouldn't be any real benefit (the jump from 480Mbps USB2 to 20Gbit USB speeds is already plenty of bandwidth for a phone).
Man that would break my heart if the regular iPhone 15 still had Lightning. I have my heart set on getting an iPhone 15 Plus specifically because I want the USB-C port.
I think the bezels will be more a difference than we are expecting. Don’t forget, it looks like they are possibly introducing a more curved edge on the display, which could make the bezels almost completely disappear.
I’d bet Lightning on standard, USB-C on the Pro. Still think Apple want to drop the port from the standard and go with MagSafe only for charging, so it’d be risky to put USB-C on the standard then take it away in a generation or two. If you just put it in the Pro, you get a feel for how much people want it and use it, which helps decide kill/no-kill for the port on the standard
I just want them to fix their overheating problem. I don't care if it's thinner, I am sick and tired of CONSTANTLY losing footage because my iPhone 12 Pro MAX overheats on any clips over 10 minutes long. It's the same with my previous 11 Pro. It's the same with my friend's iPhone 14 Pro MAX. One of the most unreliable cameras I have ever used.
Early on when the changes from generation to generation were significant, I would upgrade every two years. It's just not worth it any longer. Phone technology has pretty much hit its peak. There aren't that many revolutionary changes any longer. Now I treat my iPhone upgrades as I do my computer upgrades. I upgrade whenever it won't run the latest version of the software. In fact, on my computers I go an extra two years while the OS is still getting security updates. I'm on the iPhone 8 now, and rumors are that it won't run iOS 17. Thusly, I'll most probably be upgrading to the iPhone 15. I'm kind of excited about the move to USB-C as a standard port; however, I do think the lightning port is a better design. It would have been cool if lightning became industry standard; however, it seems like there are throughput limitations.
How on earth is a trend-setting company like Apple 5 years late to the whole Off-White™ _random splash of orange_ thing. I can _kinda_ get it on the Apple Watch Ultra... but please tell me they won't do it on iPhone too...
I think the titanium frames are important from a long-term ownership point of view. People are keeping their phones longer. Thus, you need phones to be more durable in everyday use. I also think this might be working in conjunction with the thinner bezels to provide more support for the screen and offer more durability for the screen during drop and impact situations. I think the European Union will step in to ensure that there is no speed difference.

I think all the phones will have USB C, with thunderbolt on the pros (hopefully). However, I wonder if they will downplay it in the announcement, or not even mention it at all 😂
I was thinking the same. It's best for Apple to provide USB C Type to every 15 models and don't talk about it on the keynote. Nobody will laugh, nobody will make meme.
What would you use Thunderbolt for on a phone though? No one's running an eGPU on iOS, and pretty much everything else you would do is just about raw bandwidth, with Apple up to this point having considered 480Mbps USB2 to be plenty. Plus, there's no M chip in the iPhone so they would either have to have a hilariously underclocked and cut down M2 or design a PCIe controller into their A series processors
Even funnier if it's the other way around: "Today we are happy to announce one of the best changes we've ever done to the iPhone, giving an insane upgrade in charging speed, data speed, compatibility and durability. This is USB-C"
I believe the 15 in all versions will be usb-c, but they have a patent on fast charging cables, so normal usb cables will only slow charge and apple will still get licensing fees for certified cables and connections in devices
Aerospace grade titanium is Grade 5 which is the most basic grade there is, yet its still miles better than aluminium, and it could also be very durable in in terms of resisting scratches, given that Ti02 that is produced on the surface of titanium is really hard. I’m looking forward to seeing what Apple delivers.
The only change that’s practical is the standardization to usb-c. Why is titanium considered a “game changer”? Stronger, tougher?. How much? Can you honestly say it will make a difference? Maybe if you’re a klutz. IMO, it’s strictly for iphone nerds saying they have a titanium back on your hone. How many will really give a shit? My response would be I used the extra $500 I saved to buy a new Canon lens for my dlsr that takes infinitely better photos than your iphone 15 pro. 🙄

How about USB C on the Pro, no port at all on the regular? I’m a bit surprised you guys didn’t bring up this possibility but that a portless iPhone has seemed to be Apple’s endgame for a long time. I feel like the EU forcing their hand might be apple’s motivation to commit.

What do you do when you're gaming ? Having no ports at all would mean the moment you have to charge it, you have to sit somewhere and wait so it slowly charge. And god help you if you want to play or something during that time because it'll be troublesome to play with a magsafe in the back. Plus it heats up the phone so much it would just kill the battery. I have a 13 Pro max and not in the market this year. Nothing is compelling and the rumoured increased prices might make me change my buying habits. It’s ridiculous now.
I'm betting on both having type C. All the arguments against it make sense, but I bet apple wouldn't want their own users to have that direct comparison and to see how limiting lightning has been for so long. Especially when they have to put it on all of them in a year. 😂
@@butteroverwatch The usb port is far more important than the things you mentioned. Repairing or even manufacturing will be pain for apple and impossible for third party repair services.
Maybe replacing the mute switch with an action button would force Apple to rethink the entire notification/sound muting system, which honestly was behind the curve already ten years ago. Android had a do-not-disturb mode that disables all sound coming from the phone (but allows sound in headphones) for either a set amount of time or until the alarm for ages. It's not a difficult concept. And while hey're at it, the alarms can also be completely trashed and implemented from scratch. 😀
Apple has had DnD forever and expanded it with different modes like work or sleep, the idea behind the mute switch is just quickly mute the phone if you go into a meeting or theater for example.
fyi 'aerospace grade' titanium will be referring either to the tolerances used (micro/nano meter precision which is used in aircraft) or a specific alloy that is used in aerospace.
I think we are forgetting the main reason (probably) why Apple will add usb C to their phone. It is because EU made it mandatory, so a time will come where they simply wont be able to put lightning port to their new devices.
Wanna know a fun fact? I’m allergic to titanium. If I wanted to use that phone I would literally HAVE to have a case on it just in case of cuts on my hands or face.
I would not be surprised if apple went usb c in europe and portless on all non european iphones like the e-sim iPhone 14 models in the U.S. in order to sell magsafe accessories. Apple does not make any money off usb c accessories so they might end up going the magsafe route as a replacement for lightning and in order to have usb c, you would need to buy a magsafe accessory or magsafe accessories. For example, the magsafe accessories would have a usb c port, but if you wanna buy a power bank, the power bank would have to be magsafe with usb c ports. Basically combining magsafe accessories with usb c. I would like to see more phones made of carbon fiber or even kevlar being used similar to how audiophile speakers and studio monitors woofers are made.

EU will sue them over that. Its already been mentioned that they don’t want any type of hook forcing consumers to buy a different cable.
Apple didn’t do this for the iPad so make 0 sense they do it now.
USB C should be on all models this year, not waiting until Apple has to. It's sad if they don't do it this year. 90 htz should be on the standard model and 120 htz. on the Pro.
120 hz on all models they are 800€ phones ffs

Apple would never offer 90hz on the standard models. They want you to spend extra on the pro models.

Difference isn't great enough between 90hz and 120hz.
Didn't Apple help design USB-C with Intel?
No. You're thinking of Thunderbolt 1 (and maybe 2), which used the mini DisplayPort connector. Thunderbolt 3 is when it switched to a USB-C connector.

Just got the 12 Pro.
Im on an XR since launch and ive decieded that if these phones come out with usb c ill be upgrading
they will probably put USB C in all models but non-pro would get USB 2.0 and the Pro would be getting USB 3.0+ and they will probably call it something link ProLink or ProConnect.
I think they would do USB-C on all phones. Because it would confuse people on what to charge an iPhone with if they didn’t. People know the lightning cable as the “iPhone Charger”. So they would have to make the switch on all iPhones. But probably do faster data transfer speeds on the Pro.
Imagine. With one intelligent USB C charger. I can charge Ipad. My Microsoft Surface. My Samsung galaxy ultra. My Sony ear phones. And my android tablet. Beautiful 😍

No way you can put that much words in the right order.

You should put this comment in your CV. It is genius.

One of the most unreliable cameras I have ever used.
it overheats when playing videos or recording?
Well usb C is faster and data much quicker and nobody will get confused if everything same USB C

Well, but Apple doesn’t want you using your phone longer in the slightest.

Even funnier if it's the other way around:
"Today we are happy to announce one of the best changes we've ever done to the iPhone, giving an insane upgrade in charging speed, data speed, compatibility and durability.
What do you do when you're gaming ? Having no ports at all would mean the moment you have to charge it, you have to sit somewhere and wait so it slowly charge. And god help you if you want to play or something during that time because it'll be troublesome to play with a magsafe in the back. Plus it heats up the phone so much it would just kill the battery. That and the fact that using the phone WHILE doing something during the charge would just mean it won't gain any battery, rendering the phone unusable during it's charge.

To makes matter worse, when the customer was trying to activate the e-sim over the phone with customer service, there lines would automatically get disconnected in the middle of the activation process. Even certain model of iPhone 14 models that came from outside the U.S. would not activate the e-sim since it was having issues with trying access the network even though everything is up to date and I even had customer service over the phone helping me try to troubleshoot the issues with an e-sim and the only option that would work would to buy a new physical sim card. However, all iPhones starting with the iPhone x and newer requires an e-sim activation since cricket wireless would not take physical sim cards for iPhones unless the iPhones were having issue with the e-sim. There would be people that had to use there older iphones instead of the newer iPhones since the issues with activating an e-sim were too common and the only way to use an iPhone would be using an older version of the iPhones that only accept physical sim or older iPhones that were older than the iPhone x. I did the necessary steps when trying to activate an e-sim for iPhones even with certain models of the iPhone 14 models over the phone with the help of customer service but nothing worked. Using e-sims was a pain in the ass to deal with, physical sim cards can be locked for security but you would need to know the puk code to unlock the sim card otherwise customer service over the phone is the only way to unlock the puk code. There is no option to unlock the puk code in stores since it requires the help from customer service over the phone since customer service over the phone can provide the puk code to unlock the sim card, if you did not want to deal with customer service to get the puk code, you could always buy a new sim card.
