- well, this is a long overdue project I meant to share with you guys...better late then never I hope. Ok, items you will need are some worsted weight yarn size 4. I use red heart. a loom with a wider gauge like a boye loom with at least 23 pegs. You don't need to be mindful of different pegs. This tutorial does not have any peg changing variables. Your going to need 2 skeins of each color of choice. I used two colors. so 4 skeins were needed. But Only 1 and 1/2 were used of each color.
Tag me on Instagram if you want to share any projects you create I'd love to see. #loomknitsquares and my handle is steph_allaround_crafty.
This cast off turned out so good. Thanks a lot!! I did a modified basic bind off first and it was so tight . This is much better for a blanket/ prayer shawl.
this is amazing. I've been wanted to square but I don't crochet. thank you
Hi! Where are the other 2 videos to finish this blanket with the frame? I'd love to work on this! Thanks!
This is beautiful !! Do I count the double ewrap cast on and 1st purl line as set 1 of the 23 sets needed or would you leave that as just a cast on.
Hello. Does the double e wrap cast on considered a row or is it just the cast on only?
Where the third video. I could not find it.
Really cool!
👍💯
Is it 23 rows of knit and 23 rows of purl?
Hello! I can’t find part 2 and 3. Could you please let ne know because I really like the blanket.
Thanks/Merci
Lise
Do you count the first peg u started on ? Or do You count from the second peg??
Yes count the 1st peg for a total of 23 pegs
Thank you so much
could you use a bigger yarn for this
Yes
You just wouldn't use 2 strands
How big is each square using your counts
9x9 it may vary if you work in a tighter, or looser format.
Do you knit and Pearl all 23 pegs
Yes
How would you put a brim around the blanket?
I did a crochet border. However if you have not done the project yet you can add on additional pegs for the border and do a different stitch for the edging/ border. Look at my other video of squares for an example of what I mean. Hope this helps.
@@stephaniea5532 yes thank you!!!!!
How can I make these square by knitting needles
This stitch pattern is the garter stitch so it can be done in knitting needles. I would do a swatch see how many rows and stictches work up the length you want your squares to be. Ex. 6inch by 6inch square etc. It may be more since knitting needles have a tighter stitch. After you figure out how many rows and stitches work each square in a continuous panel to your desire amount. I hope this helps.
@@stephaniea5532 thank I will try
How many panels do you make in total ?
A total of 3 panels of 4 squares in each panel, however you can always make as many panels and squares to fit your project.
@@stephaniea5532 thanks
Why not use a straight loom?
You can I just used what I had most of my long looms are bulky to carry or missing alot of pegs. As long as you the right amount of pegs and rows it should work up the same.
0:48. Get rid of that loom. It’s horrible
