I have browsed a ridiculous number of beginner loom knit videos, and you are, by leaps and bounds, the clearest, most concise instructor i have found. Your voice is warm and encouraging, you have minimal extraneous commentary and your expectation that to be a beginner does not necessarily mean you are not intelligent is tremendously gratifying. I have subscribed and will continue to use and recommend your tutorials!
Thank you! I have tried several tutorials and yarns and getting very frustrated. Tonight, I came across yours and so glad I did! It’s been great and I’m a little more confident!
That was one of the most straight forward tutorials I’ve seen yet. I was not aware of the tip or hack for a tighter cast on. Nor was I familiar with that type of cast off. Thank you.
So glad this video helped you! In a past video - my Zippy Loom Figure 8 Stitch Scarf video - I mentioned that I saw this very cast on in videos by Kimberly Carrigan and CinDWood Crafts. I'm happy I could share this hack with others.
That was very clear and understandable. Thank you so much!! Especially for that trick in the beginning, really needed that one. :) Greetings from Germany.
Your video was awesome! It was so easy to follow along! I just finished making my very first blanket thanks to you! Thank you so much for sharing your video! I can't wait to surprise my sister's baby with the new blanket :)
Incredible! I have been thinking of starting loom knitting/weaving and I was apprehensive at first because the process seemed so daunting. You have changed that. I'm excited to try your pattern and whip up my first blanket!
recently started knitting, this has been one of my favorite tutorials, very useful and very well explained. Thank you very much for sharing. Greetings from Mexico ❤
I just discovered your videos and I am waiting for my 2 Zippy Master sets to arrive. i have 2 already but REALLY want to make this blanket. Next I will order my yarn. Thank you for such precise instructions.
this is such a great tutorial and i love the fact that the video is separated into parts so it makes it easy to go back if you need and the explanation is so brief and easy to understand!! i'm only 14 and i was able to make a cute blanket for my dog and it only took me less than 4 hours! as expected, it was a bit tricky to figure out at first since it was my first time using a loom, but soon i got the hang of it and it was so fun to do. thank you Ms Yarn for this video! :) will be making more
I just got my knitting loom and was trying to figure it out. Unfortunately it didn't come with instructions. So thank you very kindly for going through the whole process from start to finish
Can someone please tell me what yarn to get so that my babies blanket looks like this? Every time I make a blanket on my zippy it’s so loose and it looks like it wouldn’t keep anyone warm. Is that because my yarn is too small?
I bought some looms and failed in my efforts.. thanks for simple show and tell... Will start again and I will succeed following your easy video. A BIG THANK YOU ❤❤❤
Could u please tell me what's the best way to join long panels together as iv knitted this in the same stitch and loom as you using chenille yarn I need to join 3 of them together tonmake a throw rug and what saught of border would u do on this please
Great video made it all really clear for a beginner like myself, the loom looks much bigger than any l have seen in the uk and it appears to lock together so you can make different sizes, any idea who stocks them please?
The gauge of the Zippy Loom is 1.5 inches, and it's made by KB Looms. Yes, the pieces snap together. In Canada you can buy them on Amazon or at Michaels, but don't know about the UK.
Hi, I also did a Figure 8 scarf video which might be helpful. Just one colour. But no other Figure 8 blanket video though. ruclips.net/video/lYE6t9yVg7Q/видео.html
Hello MsYarn, I wanted to make this blanket but the RedHeart Grande yarn has been discontinued. I’ve tried making it with baby blanket yarn, but it doesn’t come out right. I don’t know what to use instead. Do you have any ideas?
I'm confused on the purpose of the anchor yarn and what is done with it and how to ensure the blanket goes through the center of the loom.... can this please be explained?
Hi. Love this video and am attempting my first ever loom project. I am stuck - when on row 5 (right to left) do I not wrap the last bottom peg because this is the slip stitch? I only wrap that on my first row of a new colour??
How many 4 zippys are you using. I know to have twice as much and how do you keep them alittle apart or even together at the ends. Thanks for a great video
I used 10 Zippy looms, so 5 Zippy looms on top (20 pegs) and 5 on bottom (another 20 pegs), so 40 pegs in total. They are held together by two long and skinny connectors, one at each end.
Newbie here and wanted to thank you for the thoroughness of your videos and the way you explain what you’re doing! I made an attempt at a blanket using this video, but I used Bernat Blanket yarn and my blanket was so loose and didn’t hold a shape and I wasn’t sure if I did something wrong with the tightness of the figure 8’s or if that gauge of that yarn is just too small to do figure 8’s with on the zippy?
Even my blanket is quite airy. The figure 8 stitch is loose by its nature, and the gauge of this loom is so large. Maybe try a larger yarn as you mentioned. Otherwise maybe the stockinette stitch or the rib stitch would be denser. Thank you for sharing and for watching.
Wonderful video ty. Is there a way to make these and join them to make a big blanket? I'm just starting out. So I know it's probably a very noob question lol
How big is the blanket you just made I don’t have a zippy loom but it’s a long one. I was going to go around one side then come back the other to make the blanket long enough.
Hi, if you want to make your blanket wider, then you can add more looms. If you want to make it longer, you can add more balls of yarn. Hope this helps.
Hi, do you mean that the two rows are so close together and that it's hard to pull your project down? If so, after every row, you can try pulling it downwards under every single peg from left to right.
Where can I purchase this loom? I've tried looking for it and can't find it anywhere ... I'm new to this so please be patient with me as this is my first attempt at anything like this. Thank you
I'm in Canada, and I bought my Zippy Looms from Michaels and from Amazon. If you're in the US, you could buy directly from the manufacturer KB Looms. Don't know which US craft stores carry them.
Hi, I'n Linh. And I'm a crocheter, learning from other crocheters from youtube, I came across knowing loom knitting and saw your video! It was a great video and looks easy to do! To make it bigger for an adult size, I would just continue for the desired length right?
I have just started using the zippy looms. Thank you so much for the videos you have made so far. They've been very helpful for me! Please make more!
Thank you for watching and for taking the time to comment! You got it, I will make more.
How do I keep the loom middle section from tightening in on itself. I don’t feel or think I’m pulling the yarn any tighter that the ends.

That's the easiest cast-off method I've seen. Thanks for the super simple explanation.
Oh good! That last step can be quite tricky so glad it's helpful.
That is actually a really good tutorial especially the binding off part
Your video was awesome! It was so easy to follow along! I just finished making my very first blanket thanks to you! Thank you so much for sharing your video! I can't wait to surprise my sister's baby with the new blanket :)
Gonna do this first my grand baby’s crib blanket

I have looked at a million videos and this is the best!! Thank you so much!!
Thank you for your support!

That blanket looks good. I believe I can make a blanket like that, even though I'm just learning how to loom knit. 😊💜
Great video!
Best Tutorial ever! Thank you!
Amazing video!!!! You showed every step us newbies needed!
Thanks!

Thank you for going so slow. I’ve always wanted to learn this stitch, but everyone goes so darn fast! Now I understand completely.
My goal is to help people use this stitch, so thank you.
Beautiful!!
Love it I'm buying one ❤️
Very nice

I need a good tutorial on how to join my figure 8 looms together to make the baby blanket.
Hi mam,do we need to tighten the yarn at every lineor cast?
hi do you have a video for this blanket but that only uses one color of the yarn?
Hi, I also did a Figure 8 scarf video which might be helpful. Just one colour. But no other Figure 8 blanket video though. ruclips.net/video/lYE6t9yVg7Q/видео.html
Do you get a thicker textile than the most common method?
Hi! Could you do this on an infinity loom and make it turn out the same?
Yes, technically, but I haven't tried it.
Thank you!!!
Hello MsYarn, I wanted to make this blanket but the RedHeart Grande yarn has been discontinued. I’ve tried making it with baby blanket yarn, but it doesn’t come out right. I don’t know what to use instead. Do you have any ideas?
Love your videos. I am trying to get my changing colors to perfection… is this how you change colors even on a smaller guage loom? Thanks!
Yes, generally, except now I sometimes use a "Russian knot" which is slightly more secure.
Thanks so much! I’ll try that also.
Will this curl?
No, it won't curl.
Very good

@@hellomsyarn Thank you
How would you make a queen size blanket ?
Hi, I’m just wondering if I could just use a long loom ? I unfortunately don’t have zippy looms. The pegs aren’t as chunky though, would that matter ?
How many 4 zippys are you using. I know to have twice as much and how do you keep them alittle apart or even together at the ends. Thanks for a great video

You can create panels and sew them together to make a blanket. Good question.
@@hellomsyarn ty for answering. Will it look like one piece when it's sewn together?
@@theninth5691 Hard to say.
Ty 💖💖I found a video that shows me how n it comes out pretty damn great
How big is the blanket you just made I don’t have a zippy loom but it’s a long one. I was going to go around one side then come back the other to make the blanket long enough.
My blanket was 29 inches wide. It's double knit, so it's not in a single flat panel.
Would baby blanket yarn work for this on a long loom or is it too heavy/thick?
Will this still make a decent blanket if you use a loops & threads loom instead of Zippy loom?
Can you make blankets, scarfs, etc. on zippy looms without the double, so just using front zippys and using uwrap?
Doing all U-wraps would make your knitting curl, so I would alternate U-wrap rows with purl rows
How can we do vertical stripes
Can you use Bernat blanket yarn for this project?
Hi, yes, you can, but I suggest making a small swatch first to see whether two strands might be better than using only one strand.
Thank you!
I wanna use your pattern and video. However i dont have zippy loooms, how many pegs total do you use. ?
If i want to make a queen size blanket. What do i need. I gave the master kit from awhile back
Sorry, not sure, I think you'd need to do a swatch and some math to figure it out.
Not sure if I missed this in the video. What weight yarn did you use, please? It looks like 5 or 6 bulky. Thank you!
I used Red Heart Grande #7.
Hi there, first project all by myself but I have a 2 row - 18 peg Boye loom and using Barnet Baby Blanket yarn. Will this still work?
It's hard for me to say yes or no since I don't have this loom. I suggest you do a small swatch to see if your yarn is appropriate for your loom.
@@hellomsyarn thanks so much! If I want to make it wider, do I just stitch two from the loom?
Can I use the rectangular loom if this loom is not available?
What is the length of ur loom Great video! 👍🏻
Hello, new to this. How do I use the anchor string? I didn't see it after you tied it. I love your video, it's so straight-forward
You can use it to help pull your work out of the loom, as you make progress. And at the end, you just remove it.
What is the final measurements of this blanket?
I love your tutorial and I have just ordered more zippy pieces so I can make it.
Disregard. I just watched your video again and seen the measurements at the bottom of the screen. You are very thorough. Thank you.
Good luck!
Can you use a loom with smaller pegs or a different loom
Yes, absolutely. You would use a different weight yarn to accomodate your loom.
@@hellomsyarn thank you
I love you videos. They are easy to follow. What size yarn did you use for this project and where can I purchase it?
Glad you find the videos to be easy to follow. I used Red Heart Grande yarn which is jumbo #7 and I got it from Michaels.
Can I use a medium weight 4 with one stran yarn 🧶 of red heart solid color or should I use two yarn stran together I'm using a 62 peg loom knitting
Since I don't know the gauge on your loom, I wouldn't be able to answer.
Thank you for making this video! I love doing the figure stitch on my S loom. I love how you did the binding off, it’s sooo neat and clean!!!
Appreciate your kind words.
If you add more pieces to the loom can you make a bigger blanket?
Yes, absolutely. If I owned more looms, I would have made mine a bit bigger.
Why can't i buy zippy looms or sentro knitting machines in UK? 😢
When using long loom the middle comes together why
Dear miss Yarn.. I love your patterns, but find your blanket too small.. any advice on how to increase the size?
Hi, if you want to make your blanket wider, then you can add more looms. If you want to make it longer, you can add more balls of yarn. Hope this helps.
Thank you 👍🏼🤗
Are you using number 6 yarn?
Can you tell me if you put 5 zippy on one side and 5 actives on the other?
Unsure if I understand your question. But I put 5 Zippy looms on one side, and 5 Zippy looms on the other
Whenever I try this, the zippy looms get too tight together....any way around this?
Hi, do you mean that the two rows are so close together and that it's hard to pull your project down? If so, after every row, you can try pulling it downwards under every single peg from left to right.
hi i never used the zippy what ply wool are you using love the video
I used Red Heart Grande #7.

@@hellomsyarn I see. Do you perhaps have videos on loom knitting an adult blanket or afghan?
Sorry, not at this moment.
Is the pattern the same if I only use one color?
You can just skip the colour changes.
can you do shawl
What loom are you using?
Zippy Loom.
Can I use thin yarn?
This blanket is already very loosely knit. You can try using multiple strands at a time to see if it's dense enough, and not too holey.
Lane happy ☺
James
Can I make this on round 24 peg loom ?
Hi, unfortunately no. This stitch requires a long loom/double rake. Your loom needs two rows.
❤
Is it just me but does that green yarn actually blue
I commented before she explained why the color looks different
Yes, it's my camera. When I take the same photo with my camera and my phone, sometimes the colours turn out differently, depending on the device.
Ah! Just noted this is called a zippy loom l have found it on Amazon...👍
