Zippy Loom DIY Chunky Knit Blanket, Garter Stitch

- This video is about how to make this DIY chunky knit blanket on your Zippy Loom or any other long loom with pegs spaced far apart.
The steps include:
#1 doing a chain cast-on to get our project on the loom 1:13
#2 doing rows and rows of the garter stitch 3:35
#3 changing colours and adding new balls of yarn 7:22
#4 binding off which means we remove the project from the loom 10:18
This DIY blanket is 42 by 47 inches. For this size and if you use Red Heart Grande, you’ll need 9 balls of yarn. So this pattern and this brand of yarn require:
• 2 balls of pink yarn
• 1 ball of white yarn
• 6 balls of grey yarn
• 10 Zippy Looms and 4 corners, since we’ll be using 44 pegs in total
• Hook, scissors, yarn needle, two stitch markers
The finished result is a heavy, airy, chunky knit blanket.

Newbie here. (just started loom knitting about 3 months ago). Love love love your videos. I see that you used a #6 bulky yarn for this project. I have an absolute TON of Bernat Blanket #6 yarn. Would this work as well? TA
I used Red Heart Grande #7 for this blanket. I haven't tested out Bernat Blanket on the Zippy Loom, so I can only suggest that you make a small swatch and see how it turns out. Good luck.

What is the max width & length blanket you can do on this loom?
How wide was this blanket
Am I able to somehow make a blanket with 2 zippy looms? I cant ask my mom for more since I’m making it as a Christmas gift for her.

You can make a patchwork blanket by making squares using 2 Zippy Looms. Or you can make long strips and either sew them or join them like this ruclips.net/video/68g1QWLIHeo/видео.html
Good video, but the garter stitch is all rows are knitted (or I guess you could purl all rows). The Stockinette stitch is one row is knitted and the next row is purled. The rows are alternated between one row knit, next row purl.

Would this blanket, when finished, is it an adult sized blanket? I'm watching videos to learn how to loom knit and came upon your video. I was just wondering, since I saw that this looks simple to do.
I don't think it's wide enough to be truly adult sized. You'd need more pegs to make it wider. The right length can be achieved by knitting more rows. Hope this helps.

With the way I knit, it turned out to be 42 x 47 inches. Some people knit more tightly or loosely, so there may be some variation.

Could a round loom be used?
The round loom would need to be big enough to create the width that you want. And you would not join in the round since you need to create a flat panel.
