I have found that if you use a small "chip clip" or one of those clips like is on the hangars from the store, it will hold the yarn in place until you knit off and keep it from backing off.
can you make a video using all the pegs like the box instead of the figure 8 so we can see how you do it you make it look so easy and love how you go slow and explain everything
Thank you for this video. It’s very instructive. To scale this down would you increase the skipped pegs at the beginning and end ? I’m thinking I would just skip the first 8, starting on 9. If that’s correct would I keep the rest of the pattern the same or would I need to adjust? In particular, I’m thinking of those two sections that have three pegs in between the skipped pegs. Thanks!
Nice tutorial. I'm going to try this as my first project on this loom. I'm just curious as to why you didn't weave the ends in. With a cut that close to the knot, I'd be worried that the whole project would unravel. Normally when I crochet or knit anything, I leave about six inches at the ends to weave in. Have you had a blanket unravel?
@@B-Crafts Hey there I like your work I am currently doing an E-wrap blanket its coming along I have been trying to find new ways to make blanks like you did I don't think chunky wool would work on S Loom though
What is the length of your blanket once you finish, what is the longest length you can do with the afghan loom? From one end to another if you dont connect all the way around like garter stitch? I'm thinking of buying one to make vertical style .
Im confused about the counting part you say count every 3 then mark it but when I do and I try it it doesn't come out right at all on your video you only have certain ones marked is that the only ones to be marked
Is ther a tighter double rake than this. It iens up very floppy see thru that is why most people dont use the double on this but the single plus 2 of my looms broke in the same place. Not the peg but it cracked below as its weak plastic. Just beware.
The pins skipped on this Super Afghan loom are different than the "Original Serenity" loom, which I think is no longer on the market. Except on Amazon or eBay.
I’m sure you mention it in the video but I keep missing it. How much yarn/how many skeins did you use for this blanket? How long did you make the blanket?
when you do the figure 8 stitch are you always going to skip that one (the first one)peg or will you eventually use it? Also, do you skip it on the other side too everytime
Melisa Crider yes you want to skip the first peg on both sides. In the description I have written out which pegs you want to skip. If you do not skip the pegs you blanket will not turn out right.
With your first row being too loose couldn't you go back and tighten the loops working backwards towards your cast on? Just pull the loose yarn tightening and working backwards as you go so that you cast on tail increases.
When people do videos make sure your hands stay of the way so we can actually see. Please go slower with pause after you have done 1 thing so we can get the concept. I have gone thru 2 looms in less than a month. There is 1 weak spot even when you buy it. Good job trying to show us.
why do you skip pegs? I'd like to use this pattern on my loom but it has 198 pegs and I can't find any pattern in the pegs you skip, so I'm not sure which to skip on my loom. Any help or sources?
I'd say it depends on what I'm doing with either. I crochet, and I loom knit. Either can involve complicated patterns that make you pay attention. Either can involve simple repetitive acts that turn out beautiful products with very little mental effort. Do what makes you happy!
I've made a e wrap blanket (flat panel) on this and it came out wide enough to cover the top of my queen sized bed. I don't remember the exact measurements. However I made a figure 8 blanket with buttercream yarn and it came out bigger than the e wrap blanket.
Do you have a trick to remembering which way around the yarn needs to go? I know at the start you said left sides but as you go around the loom it changed to right unless you move the loom as you go.
Why is it that on here the stitches are not loose like when I do my on that KG board looks like loose loops I really love doing it but when I see this long stitches I just put it away and now I have started again and the same thing happens maybe it's best I go back in doing crochet at lest it's just one nice even chains thanks for show me what won't happen with mine.......

I don't understand why do you skip multiple pegs where you have a marked with black dots I don't understand the concept of that if the pegs are there aren't they there to be used what is the purpose of skipping around like that
Carol Markley, this loom was designed to create flat panels. She is skipping the pegs in order to maintain the gauge and distance consistent since she is using as a rake instead of flat panels.
If you don't skip pegs with the figure 8 then the blanket will not come out straight. If you want to use all the pegs you will have to do the normal blanket style.
I’m confused why do you always have to skip the pegs? Some skip in the beginning like 5 pegs and this one she is skipping the blank pegs😱. So confused here. Thank You
Sandi Scionti I haven't looked at this loom in detail, but I'm guessing that all the pegs are equally spaced. If this is the case, then the outside of the curve will have more pegs than the interior. By skipping those specific pegs, she can maintain an equal number of pegs for her zig zag, and a constant length of stitch. At least, that's my guess.

What does making the figure 8 do? Does it make it a double layer blanket?

@B Crafts how many skeins of yarn did you use for this project? I hope you see this I am trying to make a baby blanket for a friend ❤️!
4 to 6 large skeins for twin size and 8 to 10 large skeins for queen
Is this a joined blanket?
This is 4 rolls of yarn

Do you just keep repeating with the crisscross after you flip it?
Yes you just repeat everything over and over
Do you skip the peg that your yarn is on for every row or just the first row?
Marissa are you talking about where I hold my yarn?
Yes I mean when you start every new row, do you skip that peg? Sorry for the confusion :)
Yes you skip it every time.
Thank you so much! I figured, but wasn't exactly sure! So basically every time I start a new row, skip the peg that is holding the working yarn?
Could you make a video to show how to change colors or add another skein for the figure 8 stitch?
You tie the ends together for a new skein. The yarn that is in this blanket is different colors throughout.
For me it's just easier to crochet something than use a loom.
is it because crocheting is faster? i'm new to crochet and having to keep count and also somehow my ends were uneven, so I got a loom.

How long did it take you to make the blanket
Have you ever done flat panels with this yarn on this loom? If so does it come out bigger? What was your finished width.
I have not done a flat panel on this loom. I have made a flat panel on my long rectangle loom.
Haley Thompson I used Red Heart yarn, #4 weight. It makes a panel between 5 and 6 ft wide depending on how tightly you knit.
Chris Cherry I need to know how bulky yarn comes out on this loom. The box says worsted weight comes out to 6 feet.
I've made a e wrap blanket (flat panel) on this and it came out wide enough to cover the top of my queen sized bed. I don't remember the exact measurements. However I made a figure 8 blanket with buttercream yarn and it came out bigger than the e wrap blanket.

When i do that sometimes I flip both loops over
so when you come to the end you make figures 8 again to the beginningor did i mis something?
Yes. You should be able to slow down the video in the settings.

Yes
