Glad I finally stumbled upon your video. I am definitely a beginner with looming/ weaving and my first attempt with looming/ weaving I was having issues with my loops being too tight and getting stuck on the pegs. I have watched several RUclips videos to get an idea of how to work with these devices due to having arthritis in both wrists. Traditional knitting is just not an option for me anymore but greatly appreciate you taking time to show a different perspective of looming/ weaving. I just ordered 3 Zippy Master Sets and 10 Skeins of Red Heart Irresistible -Enchanted. I like my blankets about 50 inch across and 60-65 long. I'm planning to use 10 zippy pieces instead of the 8 you used. I just discovered the Zippy loom and its LIFE CHANGING! I can not wait to get started. It opens a whole new world of yarns that were previously too big for my KB Afghan loom. Then you blew my mind with another video on using Zippy to DOUBLE KNIT.
Did you try the 10 zippy pieces? And if so how did it work? Would like to try the same, as would like a larger throw as well.
I would also like to know how you made out with more zippys. :)

I dont have Zippy Looms but im going to try this on my extra large 1 inch 70 peg round Cindwood loom . Im hoping that its going to be just about the same process !
Oh I really want a big loom like that and lits of very chunky yarn but they don't sell any of that in uk.

Your adorable . Adopt me and tech me your loom ways. Im in need of making things that i cant find information on!!! You and a few other RUclips'rs have helped me tremendously. Right now im using the zippy to make a chunky knit dress, but im finding hand knitting it is easier...flat knitting on the zippy is a nightmare almost ...but i do like the end result better its much tighter with the knits seperated instead of so close together. Once ive got everything all figured out im gonna make some viedos for the loomers out there . Im in between like 10 projects hahaha and im winging it , keeping notes so i dont mislead anyone. Very much thanks to u tho.

En Rose five and six where you have the rubber band now those are the three or purl stitches right and the rest is nit until you get to the rest of the next rubber band Pearl then u stitch and how many times you do that , I'm still a beginner and still learning. I'm a slower learner due to my disability and it's take me some time to comprehend things,

What is the dimensions of your blanket? How many and what type of yarn did you use?
I'd like to make it wider and longer- I have 3 zippy looms sets- I'd like to add 2 additional pieces. Does it matter to which side I do that? currently your instruction is 3 on the long side and 1 on the short. Does it matter if I add the additional pieces to the long side or the short side? How does this affect the finished blanket. I am a NEW knitter and love your channel. I'm making this with Tiramisu color on the yarn.
Lesley Parker hi there! Good question. Actually you can configure this in whatever way is best for you. You can make it longer or more square. Personally with the weight on this one I’d make it as balanced as possible so I’d add it to the shorter length. So 3 on one side and 2 at 90°. There will be a lot of bulk from the blanket so it will also help to spread it out. The yarn here does fuzz up and with a larger blanket you might lay a sheet on you while working to create less rubbing and friction on that yarn. I wish I’d included that in my video.

Thanks for a a great tutorial You say this is 36x50 inches ... humm...i would call the crib size/toddler bed size, or a lapghan... i was wondering if one could skip doing the garter stitch border on one side and make 2 individual blankets and invisible mattress stitch them together to make a larger throw? or would suggest just getting more zippy looms and making a larger loom ... also How many skein did this take to make the 36x50 throw?

No, it would need more like 5-6 strands for a jumbo yarn
No matter how loosely I hold the yarn and make my stitches, it always gets to a point (row 6 now) where the stitches are too difficult to knit they are so tight. Any recommendations? I have started over twice because of the tightness of the stitches already. Thanks in advance for any help you are able to offer.
It is quite common. But did you try e stitches, and working them one at a time? It should have no chance of tightening up then.

Yarns discontinue all the time but usually you can find online the old info and an alternate yarn that gets close to the weight or gauge. For this jumbo type yarn there are less options but you can also hold 2-3 strands of a bunk or super bulky together as one to get the jumbo size.

You can also use more than one string at a time. Not a perfect replacement but should do.

Does anyone think this yarn would be appropriate for a baby/child blanket?
Becca D it would function more like a floor blanket. However I wouldn’t use this after eating because it would need to be spot cleaned. It’s not meant for traffic but some short tummy times or as a big heavy throw blanket on a couch or sofa is really what it’s appropriate for use.

Use whatever yarn you like. Just knit a small sample to see if you like how it works up on this loom or try a smaller gauge loom for smaller yarn.

Can this pattern be created on a round loom?
Sure. The shape of the loom should not effect your pattern as long as the pegs are of equal distance. If you want to do a closed loop, it is also possible. Just switch between purl and knit appropriately
Has anyone come up with a candy cane (diagonal) pattern for the loom?

Oh yes you can. get your coupons from JoAnn fabric then shop, also build your supplies up and then you can learn how to make this yourself. Practice makes prefect. You can do it. Lol
