I purchased my 1st Looming set two days ago. I have embroidered and sewn for years and wanted to try something new. The looms are rectangle yet the instructions are for a round loom. I've watched numerous RUclips video about the rectangle loom but still haven't felt comfortable enough to start a project. I felt defeated and was really close to returning my purchase. After watching your video I have successfully completed about 50 rows. You are easy to understand and make the instructions idiot proof. I subscribed to your channel and look forward to learning from your skill. I am 62 years old so you can teach an old dog new tricks. Thank you

    Tips for beginners:
Don’t wind quote so tightly as those plastic looms will break for you. Easier to manipulate the fiber loops after they’re laid too.
Use an empty pen body tube as a tool(feed the yarn through it) to go quicker AND keep more even tension with less effort. It’s also easier to do and less tiring than using your fingers.
Tension is important but much more critical with multi-ply yarns.

I just started loom knitting. I have been crocheting for 10+ years. I tried to learn how to knit in 2020 during the lockdowns. This is what I will say. Loom knitting is harder than crochet, and what makes it harder is the cast on and bind off. Crochet is very simple. You just make a chain or you make a circle. However, loom knitting I is way easier than real knitting. I like that loom knitting gives the affects of knitting without the torture of actually trying to knit.

I just taught myself "with the help of videos like these lol" how to crochet, this past Aug 2021 and am now doing multiple projects. My youngest daughter (5) and one of my nieces (11) wanted to do it with me but insisted I teach them even tho I'm still learning. Long story short I tried and my niece being older than my daughter caught on faster but they both refuse to watch tutorials on it so I bought them looming kits thinking it would be easier for their little hands and now I like it more than they do as well as crochet and my point is, thank you because it's hard to find many informative videos on the craft and I absolutely LOVE the pen idea and you should market or patent your own contraption and sell it!! This is so good! I watched tutorials using the giant figure 8 because I wanted an Afghan but in my absolute beginner move, I had purchased the loom you show here. The instructions were mystifying to me. I can't read how to physically do things and imagine it. All to say: this is great! Just perfect. Also oddly relaxing, was trying ching you do it, almost ASMR. 🤩

Thank you so much! I do crafts with my younger brother- he knits and I crochet, and we both assure one another that our personal choice method of crafting is the easier one (He also paints while I pencil, and we have the same beliefs here), but I trust you that looming might actually be easier than both. Also, those paintings in the background are so pretty.
