    Thank you so much for such great instructions. Always wanted to use these looms and had NO IDEA how they worked. I can knit, and crochet, but had to teach myself by turning the book upside down as I'm left handed. (Same way I taught myself to play Guitar!) But with RA and occasional carpal tunnel (I'm permanently disabled) bothering me on long detailed projects I find this amazingly easy and so simple to do! I love it and your videos. Thanks for helping me to keep my love of arts and crafts alive! I adore Quilting, Cross stitch, and Embroidery too! I'm too young to hang up my yarn and needles yet! (56!) So you have no idea how much I appreciate this! These tears are from JOY! Bless YOU Virginia! Can't wait to get a long loom to go with these as well! I'll be watching all your videos! Muah Dear! I so appreciate this! Suzi

    • @SimplyIntertwined

      Exactly. It's about finding the right looms FOR YOU. However, I do have an "S" type loom to make 5ft wide blankets but that was a gift. If you need a wider blanket then you can make panels with this one and sew them together. :)

  • @SimplyIntertwined

    @CraftyQT You most likely would have to do it while you are looming the blanket. As I mentioned in the video, you can start with the garter stitch all away across for so many rows, then switch to only doing a certain amount of pegs at the beginning and end of your room. The "middle" of the loom would be a different stitch. Then end the blanket with garter stitch all away across the loom for as many times as you did at the start of the project.

    I really like the way you go through things step by step. The counter was a great idea! Thanks for the type. I also will incorporate adding the tail of my slip stitch onto the loom, vs letting it hang,. I started a quilt on a small loom and thought that I could do rows and then sew them together but using the e stitch, it does roll really bad. So I will try it on the larger loom. I want to prevent it from curling, which videos teach a different stitch that will not roll on me. I really appreciate your videos and great explanation

    • @SimplyIntertwined
      @SimplyIntertwined  10 лет назад

    I've seen a lot of people saying their stiches got too tight when doing the E stitch. I found that if the cross-over point of the wrap in on the INSIDE of the loom, the tension is good and never gets too tight. You must wrap the pegs in the same direction each time. You'll know immediately if you did it backward.

    • @SimplyIntertwined
      @SimplyIntertwined  6 лет назад

      You can and then join together. As for how many, I'm not 100% sure. I haven't used this loom in a while so I don't remember the measurements of the finished project depending on the amount of pegs used. I would say make one and then measure and compare to a normal blanket and it should give you an idea of how many. I am pretty sure at least 4 or more. Sorry I couldn't be more help!

      One, check the yarn as you are working by pausing and seeing if the skeins need to be adjusted to "untangle them" before continuing. Second, a yarn ball winder helps because you can wind up two stands at one that way when you pull later it will be easier.

    I really like your videos and I have learned a lot. My question is how would I make a larger blanket ??? How would you tie them into each other???

    • @SimplyIntertwined
      @SimplyIntertwined  9 лет назад +1

      nancy R You could invest in an "S" type loom which will give you a bigger blanket or "sew" panels together.

    Yes, just switch them out or use two different colors at once, depending on the look you want.

    hi virginia. i was just wondering how wide your final blanket is? i am not sure if i have the same long loom as you, mine is about 22 inches long with 62 pegs, it looks about the same size but mine is green. i want to make a baby blanket, with a basket weave pattern and a seed stitch border, with a bulky yarn, but i'm worried that my blanket won't be wide enough. do you think it will be wide enough? i don't really know how wide a baby blanket should be.

    • @SimplyIntertwined
      @SimplyIntertwined  10 лет назад

      I can't remember exactly how wide it was, I haven't made one it awhile. But, I believe we might have the same. This loom was the biggest out of a four pack that was : blue, green, yellow, and pink. (Biggest to smallest). I've made baby blankets in different sizes and width depending on where the person lives. (Hotter weather, smaller blanket lol) or if it will be used in a crib or over a car seat. Once you work a few rows you will be able to gauge the width better and can use a flexible measurement to get an idea.

    Right now I''m doing the figure eight stitch for some scarves. Can I do that for a baby blanket?

    • @SimplyIntertwined
      @SimplyIntertwined  6 лет назад

      You can just be careful with what gauge loom you use so the "gaps" won't get the baby's fingers stuck.

      You are working this as a flat panel. Have you made any other flat panel projects before? Check this video as it might give you an idea of how to work back and forth.

    If I have several strips I want to combine to make a large blanket how do I attach them together?

    • @SimplyIntertwined
      @SimplyIntertwined  7 лет назад +2

      You can "sew" them together either with a plastic needle that comes with some loom knit kits or use a crochet hook. If you have a big enough loom you might be able to place loops back on and attach panels that way. Check out my "Joining Squares" video for the idea: ruclips.net/video/sCRhhlJnMug/видео.html

    hi what pattern can u use on a infinity loom to get ur bernat blanket bright yarn colour coordinate

    • @SimplyIntertwined
      @SimplyIntertwined  7 лет назад +1

      If the yarn is variegated then that would be hard to do since you can determine when the color will change. If it is a solid color then you are fine.

      You can "sew" them together using a plastic needle or crochet hook. Lined them up and carefully sew up.

    Virginia I love ur videos on loom knitt I watch them over and over sometimes I get it sometimes I don't I was wondering how u make a baby blanket on a round loom I don't have a long one.

    • @SimplyIntertwined
      @SimplyIntertwined  7 лет назад

      It doesn't on the size of the round loom. Like is it a Knifty Knitter loom? With round looms you sometimes need to make panels and sew together to get the width/length you want.

    Hi, I am posting on my husband's account. I just started loom knitting a baby blanket and in your video you mentioned curling. If it is already started to curl because I didn't know how to prevent it (new at this) is there a way to fix it?

  • @SimplyIntertwined
    @SimplyIntertwined  11 лет назад +1

    What I learned if if you knit a row, then purl a row, then knit a row, then purl a row (repeat this process a few times and it will help). Also, you can "block" the blanket when done, by wetting it and laying it out flat to dry.

    My loom has 32 pegs and is the long one. When I take it off the loom will that be the length or width? Sorry, but this is my first blanket and my third project. Thanks for your help!

    • @SimplyIntertwined
      @SimplyIntertwined  10 лет назад

      It will be the width but it won't be as wide as the loom. It shrinks down a little (on any loom). Do you have a tape measure? That will give you an idea about what width you have on the loom now. Any more questions don't hesitate to ask, that's what I'm here for! :)
