Hi Kendra! First of all, thank you so very much for watching. I get this question a lot. It is a very loose stitch. When you are loom knitting on this loom - with this particular stitch, everything is going to seem really loose-especially if you’re using a #4 worsted or thinner yarn. However, if you will just continue, you will start to see the project as it comes out of the bottom of the loom and everything will have worked its self out. I know it will feel like you are just laying the loops in the ‘ditch’ and that there is no tension at all. I say keep going until you see a few inches of your project coming out of the bottom of the loom. It was only when I used a very bulky yarn that I was able to get really ‘dense’ shawl. However, it does not sound like you are doing anything wrong. Just know that it is a very loose stitch.🌻🧶🌻 And the casting off video is here: Casting Off - or Getting Your Project OFF the Long Loom - Loom Knitting With Wambui Made It ruclips.net/video/FA66lU3uh80/видео.html

Wambui,Keep up the good work showing a novice like me how to looming. I find your video is the only one I like, because you introduce your tutorials from the beginning as a new person seeing a loom for the first time.
This is a wonderful teacher on this subject. All the while I thought I was doing it wrong but she keeps assuring you it’s right and eventually you see it . I’m so used to the stitches being tighter on the round loom this long loom it’s loose and until you see it you can’t grasp it. What a wonderful lady and patient in her teaching. I’m 64 and learning how to knit I’ve been taught since 9 but my teachers weren’t so inspirational as this lovely lady and until now I had no desire to learn. Thank you 2/1/2024

Went back to the thrift store and found a long loom. I am fully confident I can do this with your incredible teaching. I am looking through your video library for a bath mat or small rug tutorial once I've mastered this long loom. Thank you for all these great loom knitting lessons.
Don't know why I just saw your comment today. Thank you so very much! A bathmat or rug sounds like a lovely idea. Hi Tracy! Your comment means a lot to me. I too am sorry about the earlier ‘meltdown’. I hope you are enjoying loom knitting. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. 🌻🌻🧶🌻
You are better than anybody on RUclips. I’ve watched other videos about looms snd you are the best!!!❤️
Hi Virginia! Thank you for watching - and, thank you for such a lovely comment. I am happy that you find the videos helpful. All the best to you!!🌻🌻🧶
You simply explode of positivity... and I thank you for that!
I love the "wrap it around their neck and cross the street" analogy! What a great way to remember it!
Thank you, Noah. Thank you for watching and I’m happy you enjoyed the analogy🤗. All the best 🧶🧶🧶
She’s definitely the goat!!! And you have helped me out a lot!!!
Thank YOU for watching. Thank you for such a lovely comment. I am happy that you found the videos helpful. All the best to you!🧶🧶🌻
Wambui,Keep up the good work showing a novice like me how to looming. I find your video is the only one I like, because you introduce your tutorials from the beginning as a new person seeing a loom for the first time.
So enjoyable to watch! Feels like learning from a mama
Hi Alle! You put a smile on my face. Thank you so much for watching. I appreciate your lovely comment. Best wishes to you!!
Thank you 2/1/2024
Thank you! What a beautiful comment. Thank you for watching the video - and, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. You could be my little sister. I just turned 74 this week! I appreciate you and wish you well on your loom knitting journey. 🧶🧶🌻
I brought these looms on a whim, and I was regretting the purchase BUT now that I have seen your tutorials I am happy with my purchase. Your tutorial is funny and entertaining and informative. Please can you do a shawl tutorial if you have time thankyou for your lovely videos,
Hi Julie! Thank you so much for watching. I am happy that you found the video helpful and entertaining. Yes, a shawl is on the list of projects to come. All the best to you!🌻🧶🧶🌻
Omg this is the nest video on this ever! Actually it's the only one I've watched but I don't need to look further. Just got one of these looms on Temu and it had no instructions!! Lol This is exactly what I needed and you're a very good presenter and teacher! Adding it to my favorite things playlist and off the watch part 2!! Thank you so much!

Hi I am 9 years old. Thanks for all of your advise. It helps me so much ❤❤❤❤
This woman is amazing and fantastic and HILARIOUS. I think I'm going to get "don't worry, it'll work itself out" tattooed on my person. She made this easy to follow and did it in such an entertaining way. "Cross the street and wrap it around your neighbor's neck" is amazing, I laughed for a solid minute. Wish I knew this woman IRL, for reals.
Hi Ess! Wow! Thank you for such a lovely comment. I appreciate you so much for watching. I am sooo very happy that you enjoyed and had a good laugh and smile. - (My mission is accomplished)🤗 All the very best to you! 🧶🌻🧶🌻🧶🌻🧶🌻☀️

Hi Tracy Born Again Farm Girl!!! I appreciate the lovely comment. Thank you for watching. 🌻🧶🌻🧶
This is the clearest, best-demonstrated loom knitting instruction video that I've ever seen!
this lady makes me miss my grandma :'-( I lost both my mom and grandma to ALS both of them had a soothing voice like this nice lady, Happy Mothers day Mrs. Wambui
Oh, your comment means a lot to me. Thank you sooo very much for watching. Wishing you a fabulous day as well.🧶🌸🧶🌸🌸
Amazing teacher! I bought a round loom at a thrift store to try knitting. Other videos had me convinced I could never learn this. But then I found Walnut made it. I knitted a hat in no time.
Although, I see where this was sent 4 months ago, so you may have loom knitted one by now. But this sounds like a project that could be fun and easily accomplished by nearly everyone. God bless!🧶🧶🧶
Well explained!!! Using terms like cross the street and wrap around the neck, making sure everyone has a scarf! Thank you!
Hi Diane! Thank you so very much for watching. I am glad that you found the video enjoyable and helpful. Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely comment. I also want to make you aware of part two of this video and an amended video that helps to make for a more even cast off. Those videos are linked below. All the best to you!🧶🧶🌻

I used thinner yarn and turned out an amazing summer scarf. The pattern is amazing. Can create soft and cosy things. It’s very easy and quick.
Great job!
Thank you so much for these instructions. I couldn't have done it without you. Your voice is so pleasant and your smile so sweet. I enjoyed watching and learning.
Greetings! Thank you so very much for watching. I am happy that you enjoyed the video and found it helpful. Thank you for the lovely comment. All the best to you! ☀️🧶☀️
I have learned more from your video than any other one I have seen! Thank you so much for sharing!
Oh my!!! Your tutorial is FANTASTIC!! Thank you for the clarity and simplicity. ❤❤❤
Miss Wambui I do believe you just became my best friend 🙌 i crochet but wanted to start knitting, I made a few looms and now I'm like okay what next 😅 my crochet brain is making this way more difficult than it has to be so when I came across your videos I was so happy! You explained everything in the beat way, just like as if my own gramma was sitting here teaching me like she did with crochet. Thanks so much for these tutorials, I really appreciate you 🤍🙌
I was just thinking the same thing. You are an incredible teacher and very entertaining. Your love of knitting with the loom comes across so clearly and makes one want to create something. This is my second video I’ve watched of yours and I’m in love with them. I know the basics of the round look but I researched how to change colors and your video popped up first!!!!! It was awesome.
Hi Sherry! Thank you so very much for watching. I am happy that you find the videos helpful. Thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely comment. All the best to you!🧶🧶🌻
Thank you for your easy going instructions. I have struggled to understand and retain what learned in past of knitting and crochet. Inspired by my mom who learned late in life I got a round loom and made a hat from my daughter then wanted to make a matching scarf. Thanks to your videos I started that on the round loom and bought a strait oom to make a beautiful scarf for my boyfriend.
Greetings! Thank you so very much for watching. I am happy that you find the tutorials helpful. You can also make a beautiful matching scarf on the round loom - and, for a beginner you might find it easier and it will match the hat better. Here are links you might find helpful:

I just have to tell you with my entire heart, THANK YOU. I want to cry because I didn't think I would ever learn how to do this and your video landed in my feed. I watched it and now I can say I got it! I tried years ago and got so discouraged that I quit.

Thank you for taking your time and repeating the steps which helps so much! Your video out many is the best to follow.
I was away from loom knitting for awhile with a broken thumb. BUT, I am back and wanted to make a scarf for a friend of mine for Xmas. Forgot how to use the long loom, but watched Wambui's directions and it all came back to me very quickly because she is so good at taking her time to explain how to wrap the pegs, etc. Wambui, you are a natural at working with people. Don't EVER stop. And, yes, I love your explanations of "crossing the street" and wrapping a peg like a scarf! She is funny, and her speech is excellent!
Hi Ann! Thank you for watching and thank you for taking the time to leave such a lovely comment. It means a lot to me. FYI: I wanted to make sure that you saw this video about how to cast off the long bloom in a way that doesn’t pull the stitches too tightly together. You may already be an expert at that but just wanted to make you aware of this video just in case: A Loose Cast Off - How to Cast Off The Loom Knit Long Loom - Wambui Made It Loom Knitting ruclips.net/video/YL8d9Yw5PsQ/видео.html

Thanks for the video. I am disabled veteran and took up crochet for relaxation. Was getting pretty good but needed a faster technique. Got some knitting looms, but they were kicking my butt. Thanks to your tutorial I am zooming along. Thanks, again
Hi Wayne! Thank you so very much for watching. Crochet is really nice, but there is no faster way to make a hat than loom knitting. I am glad to hear you are enjoying crafting. I started crafting because of the relaxation aspect. Below I have added the links to Part 2 of this video - in case you want to take it off the loom😅. And also a little video to help ensure that the projects on the long loom don’t come off too tight. Thank you for taking the time to share such a lovely comment. All the best to you!🧶🧶🌻
