    Beginner / intermediate practice. No equipment necessary.
    In today's practice, we'll keep working on our ground movement transition, get ups, rolling, and crawling. These movements will explore all planes of motion and engage the entire body to work as a unit.
    After a thorough warm up, you'll learn the 4 movement patterns that make up the circuit. You'll practice these movements for 3 rounds and then play around with incorporating the movements into a freestyle. As usual, we'll finish up with some breathing and stretching.
    This is a great session to introduce you to some basic natural movements - get moving in different ways, more often.

    My wife was watching me practicing this morning and noted that I looked somewhat like a child playing...my response was that I felt like one, which is not a bad thing when you are 60. These workouts improve my spine and hip mobility wonderfully and are a great addition to my weight training and hiking. Keeps that aging curve flat!

      You're on to something ;) I talk about "playing like an adult". There's a certain maturity and intention to it but it's still joyful and creates undeniable good vibes. Keep it up!

    Hi bro, 6 weeks into your natural movements and I already feel like a new man. It is my favorite part of the day and I wake up eager to do the next one, the best is the deep mediation that I take from it. Thank you so much. The 10 min, videos don't give excuses to anyone. Word! The frustration naturally arises but it's all in what we do with it - great mindset on your part. You come to see that one day something might feel awkward and disconnected so you put in on the shelf. After a few days of letting it process you come back and things just click. The nervous system just needs a little time sort things out sometimes, but it feels like magic.

    This was a great workout and destresser, I haven't been able to attend gym due to touring schedules for work, but this was the perfect treat for my body on returning home. I do a couple of your shorter clips in my hotel room and they completely get me limber and ready for long travelling and even for optimal alignment before getting on stage, so thank you!
    Your workouts are accessable, calming, challanging, peaceful, warming, fun and releasing. x

It's almost so simple it's easy to overlook...but then you try it and it keeps getting better. That's been my experience so I'll keep putting out content and hope it continues to spread. Best wishes to you.

    Hi, I cannot find anything on RUclips or the Internet overall on doing tripods. I would love some video or info that deals with thewmove you do in your video. I want to learn it but am stiff and rather unflexible. BTW - I like the way you put together your movent videos. Its not so complex so that one would be intimidated to not even start plus your voice is calm. All in all very inspiring.

    • @StrengthFlowFitness
      @StrengthFlowFitness  6 лет назад +1

      I try to keep most of my language consistent with MovNat terms so it may be hard to search for. The "tripod transition" has applications in crawling, getting up, balancing, and vaulting. The key is the alignment of the support arm - making sure not to collapse into the shoulder or allow the elbow to bend excessively. You want to always be pushing through your points of support to maintain stability as you change positions. Modifications can be made to ease the mobility demands - elevating your hands on a low platform would be one way. I always recommend changing the environment to insure that your body learns how to execute movements with quality. If something is too hard, learning cannot take place.

    I'm so excited to have found this video! I move like this but hadn't found a name for it really.. freestyle interpretive dance seems to kinda fit but I just like how you call it "natural movement". if I wanted to find a group that does this do you have any ideas where I would start?

    • @StrengthFlowFitness
      @StrengthFlowFitness  5 лет назад

      I've been teaching for a company called MovNat since 2012. Much of the content on my channel is inspired from that method. It's a global community, check it out there might be some other movement weirdos around you.

    Kellen, I was wondering if your ecourse was similar to the movements in this video? I'm interested in purchasing it, however I don't have any kettlebells and so I was wondering if your program is primarily body weight moves or not. Thank you

    • @StrengthFlowFitness
      @StrengthFlowFitness  6 лет назад

      The program in the e-course has a lot of these types of "bodyweight-only" movements but also has some equipment requirements like a surface to hang from, boards to balance on, an object to lift etc...There are inexpensive options for all these requirements. No KBs required.

      I like your workouts, Kellen. I incorporate them into my yoga and zumba practice.
      Please don't pay attention to comments like that person said. I'm gay, so I know what he implies in his statement. I never pay attention to what you wear. I don't know why some people come to your channel just to pay attention to your clothing instead of the content of your routines.

    • @jackrubyshat
      @jackrubyshat 6 лет назад

      +Minh Nguyen Are you suggesting that homosexuality grants one the superpower of reading others' mind?
      If so, I'd still recommend that you practise this superpower as you're reading my mind incorrectly on this matter. If not, why did you mention you're gay? What does that have to do with anything? Or do you erroneously think your sexual identity grants you more social credit and intellectual authority over a heterosexual male in a discussion on fashion choices? What makes you assume that I'm not gay as well?
      "I don't know why some people come to your channel just to pay attention to your clothing instead of the content of your routines"... I hope you realise how regrettably stupid that statement is without external aid.
      When you watch an amazing athlete performing feats of strength and beauty, do you completely ignore what he/she wears? I don't. Is there anything wrong with doing that? Have you heard of showmanship? What's your view on women, or men, wearing makeup? Visual observation as a foundation for decision making is part of our biology from evolutionary process, should I remove that from myself so I don't "come to someone's channel just to pay attention to their clothing instead of their routines"? If so, how should I do it?

    • @MinhNguyen-tz2lw

      ""When you watch an amazing athlete performing feats of strength and

      so, how should I do it?""
      I wasn't raised American. My culture tends to judge people harshly based on their appearance rather than their talents. I learn to overcome it. Hence, I get annoyed when people make comment about something that doesn't relate to the content they are observing.
      I know about women's makeup from evolutionary perspective. When I interact with people, I may pay attention to what people wear. When I listen to a song, when I check out a fitness routine, I pay attention to the workout, the music, the personality of the instructor. I never pay attention to what they wear.
      Until you mention what Kellen wears, I didn't notice at all. Now you mention it, my attention is still not on his clothes. I'm too busy keeping up with his moves.
      I do look, but I know where my attention should be.
      ""If so, I'd still recommend that you practise this superpower as you're

      fashion choices? What makes you assume that I'm not gay as well?""
      I don't have a gaydar. From my experience, whenever some guy mentions about a man's fashion, there is a strong implication about the man's sexuality. That happens in Vietnamese culture, and it happens even more in American society. I am the 1.5th generation. I witness this too many times.
      If that is not your implication, I apologize for being harsh on you. I am very sensitive with comment like that. It builds the stigma that sexuality is the only thing in a man's head. Well, honestly, I like Natural Movement fitness, and Kellen's style of instruction. Other youtube instructors are difficult to follow. Supposedly he's a woman, I will still take his routines over others'.
