  • Neil Young and Crazy Horse perform "Like a Hurricane" live at the Farm Aid concert in Hershey, Pennsylvania on September 22, 2012. Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.
For more information about Farm Aid, visit: farmaid.org/you...
Farm Aid's performances are donated by the artists in order to raise funds and raise awareness for family farmers. They've raised their voices to help - what can you do?

I met Neil with Darryl 2 years ago, quickly shook his hand, he introduced himself, he said "Hi I'm Neil Young " as if i didn't know ! I just couldn't how gracious he was. I didn't stuff my phone in his face I just cherished the moment and walked away. such an Icon 💯

Lots of people have talent, but none are as emotionally courageous, uncompromising, artistically curious, and astoundingly sturdy as Young. He is in a category that doesn't include anyone else.
You know that game where you choose any three people from history you'd like to have dinner with? I think I'd pick Groucho Marx, Jesus, and Neil Young.

My memory must be slipping a little.
I do apologize to John Melancamp and Niel Young..
I watched as Farm Aid was established and I Donated.
    But for some odd reason..
My memory kept saying Willie Nelson started it.
I knew the fact of it..
    Niel and John..
    Not Waylon..
Pitched in with Willie in 85 to start Farm Aid..
    Guys..
    Please forgive me.
    It was an Honest mistake..
I truly do appreciate and care about each one of you.
I grew up playing Niel's songs.
One of my favorites was,Heart of Gold.
A true Master Piece of its time..
My favorite today is, Rocking in The Free World.
To me, that song is one of Niel's Greatest Modern Master Piece's
Willie was also an All Time Top Favorite of Mine.
The man like Niel, is nothing short of a Legend in music.
To see Willie standing there on stage with his Indian Native Look and Ole Trigger, was really something to see.
    Then John..
A man of so much Talent..
I remember when Jack and Diane hit the shelves.
Everyone it seemed, had to buy a copy.
    John Rocked The 80's..
    When I say Rocked.
    I mean he Rocked !!
    Concerts,MTV,Hit after Hit.
All Three of these legends has had their share of false judgements and wrongful Slanders.
But each one represented America and All We Love and Care About.
Not one deserved the trash talk they recieved..
    Not one.
Many Americans has been misguided to believe stuff that just isn't true.
Started by nothing more then Gossip,Conspiracy spreading Haters.
But I can tell you this.
Those Haters just wish they could have raised so much money, put so many to work and support our American Family Farms as these three men has done.
I treasure each one of them as I do others that has had such impacts..
Nothing but Love for you Three Brothers.

Too bad you didnt live near Peterborough, ontario, canada.
Neil and Crazy horse would jam at the Red Dog tavern before most tours to shake out their set.
It could hold all of 100 people packed. They never let on when they would be there though.
His parents live in the area.

If Neil isn't the most talent rocker of all time, then he is certainly among them. He has never become stale by writing the same song over and over again. He can rock out with crazy horse or grab an accoustic and his harmonica and go on stage alone. He is one of the few who I can set aside his political views and just listen to the music.

Neil never disappoints. A true artist who doesn't compromise. I never ever get tired of him. I will always be a fan. Some artist regress in time but Neil has remained steady never faltering. A favorite of mine for sure. Thanks Neil for your music and convictions. Keep rocking in the free world. A fan for life.

Ciaol, ti adoro! Franco, 62 anni, Milano-Italy.

What a great and good man. We can only hope that the next generations will produce people like him, David Bowie, Prince, Frank Zappa and several others, who care or cared about humanity.

Yes, we need more people to teach our children to take drugs, not get a real job, and then pretend to preach to the world all about it.

Apparently, you also think we need more people to flap their gums simplistically about things of which they apparently don't know, or willingly ignore. Neil Young has spent countless hours of his time and more of his own money than most of us will earn in a lifetime on efforts devoted to helping people less fortunate than him (Farm Aid, Bridge, ...). He's spoken widely and written about the dangers of drug use. What have you done to compare, 'real job' or not? Each of these people were 'job creators', that title so beloved these days; they employed band members & tour supporters, they provided work for employees at publishing companies, record companies, concert venues, ... If you're going to criticize, please do so with more intelligence and insight than a six year old.

I had to go get a blanket during the intro cause I flat out got chills. The blanket didn't do much, but the Horse sure did.

All these people, saying these words about him. He must be happy knowing that so many people love him. The one and only Neil Young.
