Damn Neil, That was fucking great! You just rocked the house that night. You played so hard the Roaches came scurrying out of the walls. The best version of Like A Hurricane I've ever heard I thank God for letting me live to hear it and for the gift of you.
I'm 65 years old and I seen him play this song when I was 20 at a big outdoor festival held in a park in Miami Florida. It was a 3-day festival but they made us leave the park every night.
I have literally lost count of how many times I have listened to this song. I am so fortunate that I was exposed to amazing music growing up...Neil and the guitar is magical.
My mom got me listening in the mid 70s. So I was around 6 or 7. Not too long after she got me into ZZ Top. Best gift a parent can give a child. The joy music can bring. It's a life long gift.
I'm 57 & have been playing tracks from my old vinyl in my motorbike workshop at the bottom of my garden. My perfect joy is my Son & my Mrs (his Mum) have turned their ears to more of my old tracks even more so than they once did & Neil Young is asked for repeatedly....... I shall have to transfer my LPs to a modern platform.
Neil Young.. I am 58 and i just want to say thank you for your sharing your God given gift with all of us with each and every little gem over the decades. Cheers to you Ol Shakey.
I love how at @6:28 he accidentally unplugs his guitar and later, when it gets plugged in again, he slowly fades in again and gets back on track with even more furiosity! I think the accident made this version even more beautiful. Absolute stunner of a performance. The energy is unmatched. Amazing song. Gets me fired up every single time. I will be here for until my dying day.
This man is the greatest all round performer, his lyrics are compelling, sincere, thoughtful, and inspiring, there may be 70 great songs in his inventory, if you do the research and listen to his 30 plus albums, you will agree, just a master of his craft, his onstage present is incredible, nobone is comparable Uncle Niel Young Forever!!!!❤
I’m from Brazil, but I live in USA, but when I listen the song. Hide like Hurricane take me back 50 years ago, it’s unbelievable I love it ! I hope see Neil some day 👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
No two performances are the same. He is like Aretha and Ray Charles they couldn't lip sync because every time they did a song was a new time. He is a guitar god if there ever was one.
I have nominated this as one of my wake tunes for my friends and family to appreciate my love of music when I die. I want them to hear the music that stirred me in life and maybe open up their music appreciation when I'm gone. What a guitar solo! Legendary!
Put it on the top of your list. You have to see him live, in the mosh, right up the front. As soon as Covid is mostly gone ... his first gig... just go. Pure heaven.
As many times as I’ve seen Neil live, watched videos of performances, and listened to his music, it never ever gets old for me. He’s not for everybody but for all of us many fans, he’s unbelievable.
Brother from another member of our tribe, we are called humans, and Mr. Young has endured many arrows sent his way over the decades, and yet no one can fault his passion for storytelling he does so well. You will find many love songs he has written in the past. I am partial to Cowgirl in the Sand. Many cuts 4way live show the brilliance indeed.
Neil Young doesn't play music, "he is the music.". This is a great video-audio version of my favorite Young song. The Weld versions of this, Rocking In the Free World & other hits are amazing too. Arguably the greatest singer-somgwriter-guitarist in rock history from 1960's to present; has done rock, folk, country, blues, new wave/punk, pop, grunge, electronic, so has done more genres of any writer-singer in music history. Probably has recorded more somgs than any other artist. Long may you run, Neil.
That was his encore that night at the show he didn't play it a couple days later in Sacramento we used to follow him around back in the day unfortunately my twin brothers gone now but the memory lives on
This era of them always get slept on. I love the albums Landing on Water and Life. And his performances are really freaking savage at this time. Very great artist

But Bob is right! Neil brought me always into another World, gave me a good drive for my Live, from 1980 on through all the years till now😉! And I am German😂!
Has been a while since I listened to this, a performance like no other - rock when it was the total expression of a generation. That vibrancy is hard to find today.
To grow during a time when everything was new , awesome….creative …pure and absolute genius……now …in my 70 ‘s and wondering if we will experience something awesome again?
I’ve got a couple years on you and sense our generation has lived through a golden age. But as so many times before, we humans had the whole world so nearly in our grasp, we let our fears prevail and lost it all. Each time, whether for the ancient Greeks, the Romans who came after, the Europeans during the Enlightenment, the British during their empire, the Americans during theirs, we edge a little further out over the precipice. This time, when the glorious promise of the internet was hideously transformed into a sewer of hate, I fear we have edged a step too far.
Never fail to smile when I watch this Neil thought he was in the crowd listening to a great band then realised he was the band, continual fight with the guitar everything is just perfect makes u forget all the sh*t happening around u so I listen every day, keep rocking Neil we need u
He really makes that guitar cry desperately and convert that to rage, how can he get so many sounds, emotions anf feelings from a guitar ... that power is awesome , it feel like he creates some new musical notes, think is the best performance I´ve seen until now. unique magnificent
I first saw this on a local tv program called Radio With Pictures in the late 60's, during what many refer to as the rock revolution I was still go to collage or had just left. Who the hell is this I thought at the time and at the first opportunity went in search for a copy. The disc has long since gone but I got the same feeling when I heard this in 24. Young is one of the great country rock legends
I saw Neil Young with Crazy Horse and the International Harvesters in Sydney in the 1980s and would say it was memorable experience. Probably one of the best concerts I have seen.
No words. Otherworldly. Powerful. Transcendent. Exquisitely and indescribably delicious. Transports you into the stratosphere beyond comprehension. Just when you think he's reached the peak and you can't conceive of David going even higher, he blows you so far out that you are transported beyond time and space Absolutely breathtaking. I could listen thousands of times and never tire of David Gilmour. EVER.
I gotta say, what I think about all the Neil Young and Crazy Horse shows that I've been to it always comes down to this song and the sound of it filling the arena that I remember the most. And it's always there for me. It's one of my happy places. It's that perfect feeling when time just slips
Being moved emotionally is similar to sadness, but is not the same. As an example, take a great B.B. King song. Classic blues, usually about losing in love. And yet we are moved emotionally not to depression, but to a place where we are one with the artist. Great music, whether rock or classical or jazz, etc., is an affirmation of being alive.
What a completely staggering performance. It touches my hart. What a drive. What a love for playing music. I'm a great fan of Neil and now many versions of 'Like a Hurricane'. But these beats everything.
This song is a total shock, to the point of playing it during one of my theater shows and setting it as the ringtone on my cell phone. Neil I love you

@NeilyoungGiveaway Gary Tomlins
Greatest
Plus the fact, I mean admit it, he was FUCKED up..oh those were the days
This was wayyyyyyy before Neil went nauseatingly woke.
Cocaine, what a drug, those were the days, I had 30 years worth, clean and sober for 20 years, the 70 and 80's what a blur
Same!!!!!!!!!! 💗 💖 💘 💝 💟 ☮️
No kidding....I think I was about 13 when I first heard this guy. This guy
Me too
My mom got me listening in the mid 70s.
One of the most recognisable guitar riffs of all time, just sublime. A Master of his Craft.
A pity he put Mr. Soul off the net.
Recognizing eachothers experiences
Neil is one with his guitar. He gets into a trance like state & just plays with a higher vibe. Best jam session ever!
Damn this might be one of the best live musical performances I've ever seen
Neil’s anthem, where he gives everything he has. Not to us. Not to himself. He gives it to the music.

I saw him once in Kingston Ontario Canada 15 years ago
, I will never forget that night!! Thank you! Love you NEIL God Bless your soul stay safe!!
Thank you! That explaines some questions of mine 😂 but the unplugged sequence is only 10sec isnt it?
!!! ❤❤❤
It's Weird 😫this song lost me Love of my Life
He was styling it out. "oh shit! oh its over there. ok, thats cool its back in. Right, better play an even better riff. They''ll never notice.
Jepp ❤
Whoever was at this concert, congratulations for being present at the greatest rock concert. Neil Young forever rocks. Love ❤️
wtf did i just watch? the greatest guitar ever? the whole band was insane.
Driving bass and drums and Neils guitar playing is on a different level. No buddy can play that shit!
@@jimperry4420 and if youre stoned and drunk....god damn
Let's just say no one will ever play the guitar like Neil.
Good to know. I'm old enough to say I grew up with this type of music
I'm 66 yrs old and I feel a connection with this guy!
73 in two weeks and it's never going to get much better than this.
Me too
Im 64 and this man makes me feel 17 again
I’m from Brazil, but I live in USA, but when I listen the song. Hide like Hurricane take me back 50 years ago, it’s unbelievable I love it ! I hope see Neil some day 👍👍👍👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
💯💃❤️
Magnificent! Passion, power, skill, energy - eight and a half minutes of glorious guitar anarchy. He is one of a kind.
No two performances are the same. He is like Aretha and Ray Charles they couldn't lip sync because every time they did a song was a new time. He is a guitar god if there ever was one.
We to
@Mike Smith me to
John Souter Check out “the crow on the post”a song I painted..... Potter’s Poets ... we just started, if u like.. subscribe ✌🏼
AMEN John..... albeit, as always, Neil's remarkably controlled "anarchy".... A Natural Phenomena.... when "Lost and Found"..... in The Zone!!! :-)
I have nominated this as one of my wake tunes for my friends and family to appreciate my love of music when I die. I want them to hear the music that stirred me in life and maybe open up their music appreciation when I'm gone.
What a guitar solo! Legendary!
Why don't you introduce them to NY before you're gone?
Never seen this video before, I'm speechless. Long live Neil Young!
Would love to see him live. I’m. 77 and still rockin with Neil
Put it on the top of your list. You have to see him live, in the mosh, right up the front. As soon as Covid is mostly gone ... his first gig... just go. Pure heaven.
I’m the same, 76 and still rocking in the free world.
Hope you are doing well, im 27 and i m so into this song.
seen him twice he is very entraining when he came to Australia
Me too!!! except 76, lived in Willowdale, Toronto, Canada when Neil and neighbour Bruce Palmer headed from Ontario to California.
I'm ever grateful for being taken to crazy horse concert. I wasn't a NY fan until I saw what he does with a pedal. Great guitar solos
Who still gets bombed up watching and listening to this man ripping that guitar 🎸🔥🔥🔥 in 2021💪🏻💪🏻🤟🏻 the one and only Mr Niel Young😎😎
As many times as I’ve seen Neil live, watched videos of performances, and listened to his music, it never ever gets old for me. He’s not for everybody but for all of us many fans, he’s unbelievable.
Im agree
Regards from Rio de Janeiro. Brazil
That was his encore that night at the show he didn't play it a couple days later in Sacramento we used to follow him around back in the day unfortunately my twin brothers gone now but the memory lives on
Neil Young's "Like A Hurricane" and David Gilmour's "Comfortably Numb" are definitely the 2 best guitar performances of all time 👍🏻
I’m with you! How many would say that? But I would.
@@Michael-mm3fm I agree!!!
IAM sure of it❤
he is fabolous but all the musicians ade fantastic , the pace of drums.....
Kind of think you forgot a couple of Mark Knopfler solos when you made that statement - and I a great fan of Neil and. David
One of the most underrated guitarist's and musicians of all time.
then you are using the wrong rating system
@@vonn4017 Yup!!
This era is really underrated. I love landing on water
This era of them always get slept on. I love the albums Landing on Water and Life. And his performances are really freaking savage at this time. Very great artist
That's absurd after all the sales and hits, the tours. You need to stop using popular meaningless phrases.
He was "on fire" during this performance - one of his best 👍🏻
Not for the timid
On fire of coke haha
@@jrs7531 i think it was more than just coke...who knows but it was a great performance..unreal..but sad he was sooooo fucked up- could of went in another direction, like has happened to so many

What energy Neil displays on this video is AWESOME!
Absolutely off the scale this is stupendous, what a performance!!!
Amen Brother!!!!!
look at Cortez the killer, Madrid 87. He has the same shirt on
There really is nothing better than this
Nothing.
help me from 5:00 to not be in a trance😊😅❤
Neil is killing that guitar 🎸 😂
I absolutely love this
@@sarahriley8954 yes, it's such a music flow... 😁
Neil totally into it, totally engaged and just an awesome performance - he is one with his guitar. Amazing!
Epic!!!! Music like this doesn't exist anymore.just a master class from a true rock icon.i have played this on repeat for hours and never got tired of how brilliant it is.
Not many people know this lol
A friend and I play a lot of his stuff its never ending and a joy performing his music.

For my wife of 30 yrs. Life had its evil way and took you too soon
That guitar is haunting
Strength be with you brother !
Once I thought I saw you in a crowded hazy bar. My favorite lyric ever.
How many relationships started that way lol
It must have been written during a dream because no one can write a song this good in normal circumstances! Thank you, Neil.
Known this song for years and years
In a Coma
Liner notes from DECADE, after an epileptic seizure. ( Shakey )
Bob Dylan, "There is nobody like Neil Young."
Arrrh please,Bob is a lyrical master, Neil is an amazing guitarist and songwriter , can't compare, both amazing 😉
But Bob is right! Neil brought me always into another World, gave me a good drive for my Live, from 1980 on through all the years till now😉!

Has been a while since I listened to this, a performance like no other - rock when it was the total expression of a generation. That vibrancy is hard to find today.
I just came across this. it has jumped to the top of my you tube top 30. Wow!
All time favorite Neil Young song. It must always be played at maximum ear volume
You were right the 1st x...it's the best solo soul ❤
Barbed Wire and Crushed Glass no one else can make a guitar sound like that. Magical!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank You from Ukraine!

100% passion, one of the most underrated guitar players. He is the ultimate feel guitarist ever!
Will Neil ever rock this hard again? Even if he doesn't, we'll alway have this.
Chuck M we are not worthy
Moacir Campos AMEN
I saw this tour (my first Neil concert!) and he rocked just as hard in 2015, ending the show with 15 minutes of feedback out of Love and Only Love.
When I see Neil Young a Rome he do 15 minutes of feedback
Excuse my English but I'm Italian
The sheer joy of this man hopping around on stage and gesticulating gleefully to his bandmates! Gotta love it.
Saw this live last night in Forest Hils, NYC. Amazing. I couldn't stop dancing. Thank you, Scott for taking me to the best concert I've ever been to.
2 things I love about this video is he is so comfortable showing his emotions and he seems to be having so much fun❤
Yes 🙂
Never fail to smile when I watch this Neil thought he was in the crowd listening to a great band then realised he was the band, continual fight with the guitar everything is just perfect makes u forget all the sh*t happening around u so I listen every day, keep rocking Neil we need u
I've played this song in bands for about 20 years (and still going). Gives me the chills every time I play it. "Rock 'n roll will never die" Go Neil!
My my hay hay its here to stay.love ya brother don't change a bit
If I had to pic one artist to listen to the rest of my life it would be Neil Young.!
He really makes that guitar cry desperately and convert that to rage, how can he get so many sounds, emotions anf feelings from a guitar ... that power is awesome , it feel like he creates some new musical notes, think is the best performance I´ve seen until now. unique magnificent
I first saw this on a local tv program called Radio With Pictures in the late 60's, during what many refer to as the rock revolution
I was still go to collage or had just left.
Who the hell is this I thought at the time and at the first opportunity went in search for a copy.
The disc has long since gone but I got the same feeling when I heard this in 24.
Young is one of the great country rock legends
Never seen him enjoy a song so much. In his fucking element.
I saw Neil Young with Crazy Horse and the International Harvesters in Sydney in the 1980s and would say it was memorable experience. Probably one of the best concerts I have seen.
Rufus Theibidoux on the fiddle!
No words. Otherworldly. Powerful. Transcendent. Exquisitely and indescribably delicious. Transports you into the stratosphere beyond comprehension. Just when you think he's reached the peak and you can't conceive of David going even higher, he blows you so far out that you are transported beyond time and space
Absolutely breathtaking. I could listen thousands of times and never tire of David Gilmour. EVER.
But this is Neil Young. Am I missing something?
Late 86, up in northern BC, watching this on satellite TV, brilliant....
I gotta say, what I think about all the Neil Young and Crazy Horse shows that I've been to it always comes down to this song and the sound of it filling the arena that I remember the most.
And it's always there for me. It's one of my happy places.
It's that perfect feeling when time just slips
This song effects my soul. I can't explain it. It seems sad in someway. ❤
He was "engaged" during that performance, I think it's safe to say!
Fully engaged 🤘🏼
Discovering this video today...feeling the same as when the album "American Stars & Bars" 1977 album was released. I was 17....it was yesterday!
Seen him on this tour back in 86, Austin Tx! Good times!
The best version of this song live, there is no doubt.
Live in Berlin is fantastic as well.
@@MrAitraining I agree, the video quality is not all that great, (I bought the DVD), but the audio is stuning!
Berlin is up there, less manic, but musically....
Neil is soo much better with crazy horse backing him.
Love it. Goes bonkers on that guitar!
I blew up speakers listening to this the first time. They were not mine I owe you Jim it was me.......
Well worth it
Jim knew it the whole time. He's still pissed
Neil's guitar playing never seems to get the respect it deserves...So Underrated...
It's unique, it vibrates, there are no words!
That's because he's raw as hell, there's no way to define his madness in music theory.
What a completely staggering performance. It touches my hart. What a drive. What a love for playing music. I'm a great fan of Neil and now many versions of 'Like a Hurricane'. But these beats everything.
DE ACUERDO TE llega AL ALMA , me pone la piel de gallina no hay palabra pra descrivir esto , simplemente genial
