Anyone else out there that still loves this song? My kids are all grown up now for many years and this makes me think of happier times. I miss those times.
Un brano bellissimo ma in questa versione è veramente emozionante. Se il supporto fosse in vinile la punta della testina del giradischi avrebbe lasciato il giusto segno. Riascoltabile all'infinito!
This man is really an incomparable genius: endless talented songwriter, musician, singer, astonishing live performer..." So many joys raising up..." with your amazing and lovely music. Neil Young, you are the soundtrack of my life...Thank you for existing Neil!
In 1977 summer I was 17 and had an itchy crush on a german girl visiting her sailor uncle at his summer residence in Finland, with her family. She was of the same age but cannot recall her name anymore. She played me Neil's American Stars' n Bars and back then I learnt to know his great music. She didn't response to my letters coming from far north but Neil' music did as still does.
Neil and the Horse - the way it should be. He played with a lot of good groups in his time but his best performances are with the Horse. Edit: how does he get such amazing tone on an acoustic?? Usually it's with an electric, which is remarkable on its own... either way. What a legend.
No one like Neil. This version of Ramada Inn is so beautiful . Come back to it so many times . The man has so many classic songs in his catalogue - can never tire listening to this man . The man never stops being relevant - even now in Jan 2021.
I am always gratified to read about how so many listeners describe their intense feelings and personal memories of Neil. I see myself in all of them. We are all so lucky, aren’t we, to have so much of our souls wrapped up inside Neil’s endless horizon. How does he do it? Still, after decades, he remains in his output mode, ever-creating, ever-performing. There is nothing to do, but watch Ol’ Black rock back and forth, swing up and down, and behold in gratitude creation taking shape through the filter of Neil Young. This is certainly my own corner of heaven on earth . . . yet look . . . there are tens of thousands of you here with me. Keep on keeping on Neil!!!!
I've realized that I have to have time to be creative in one way or another, I think most of us do have activities we once enjoyed immensely that we should get ourselves back to in whatever way that needs to be reworked if it's been a long time. We all have something to offer to the world in whatever small way it may seem. Just talking to you on here is one of those little things I enjoy in life. I hope things are going well with you.
I'm two years behind Neil, and the Crazy Horse boys. Decades of Neil's songs, his talent to write all of those meaningful songs, each one a story. The world one artist at a time we are loosing. Leonard Cohen, passed away last fall, what a singer songwriter he was, and a Canadian, I love his songs. Guys like Neil, Dylan, The Stones, The Band Etc... will never be replaced by anyone. Just like our time in the 60's can never be replaced, we are all connected to that era, it was ours. ☮️

Neil's voice hasn(t changed; it's even got a little better if it is possible. My love story with Neil started in 1972 in Israel; I was on a kibbutz and I would lsten to "The Gold Rush" every morning, every evening and it's never stopped. Thanks a lot Neil.

I absolutely agree. This is one of his really great songs, musically and lyrically, as you said, "a masterpiece". I had the great pleasure of seeing NY & the Horse on the Psychedelic Pill tour, but had only heard Americana, which came with my concert tickets. Based on that, I wasn't expecting too much, but what I got was one of the things closest to a religious experience I have ever had. And Ramada Inn was one of the biggest parts of it. A magnificent song, making (what I presume to be) the personal universal. (With a bloody haunting refrain.) Sorry. I'll shut up now.
So many years now together All those good times, ups and downs So many joys raising up those kids They've moved on now out of town So many times she tried So many times she cried And every morning comes the sun And it goes rising to the day Holding onto what they've done She loves him so She loves him so She loves him so She does what she has to She loves him so She loves him so She loves him so She does what she needs to In a Ramada Inn, near the grapevine They stop to rest for the night, Traveling down south looking for good times Visiting old friends feels right People they haven't seen in forever Since high school, San Jose times The restaurant food and the bottle Had a few drinks And now they're feeling fine And every morning comes the sun And it goes rising to the day Holding on to what they've done He loves her so He loves her so He loves her so He does what he has to He loves her so He loves her so He loves her so He does what he needs to Seem like lately things are changing Seems like lately things are going south A few drinks now and she hardly knows him He just looks way and shuts out And when she says it's time to do something Maybe talk to his old friends who gave it up He just pours himself another tall one Closes his eyes and says that's enough Every morning comes the sun And it goes rising to the day Holding on to what they've done She loves him so She loves him so She loves him so She does what she has to He loves her so He loves her so He loves her so He does what he needs to Seem like lately things are changing Seems like lately things are going south A few drinks now and she hardly knows him He just looks way and shuts out When she says it's time to do something They would talk to his old friends who gave it up He just pours himself another tall one Closes his eyes and says that's enough And every morning comes the sun And it goes rising to the day Holding onto what they've done She loves him so She loves him so She loves him so She does what she has to He loves her so He loves her so He loves her so He does what he needs to And every morning comes the sun And it goes rising to the day Holding onto what they've done He loves her so He loves her so He loves her so He does what he needs to She loves him so She loves him so She loves him so She does what she has to
Man, I cannot get enough of this version of this song. When I listen to the CD version, I just want to hear this one. I have to figure out a way to get this on mp3 or CD. I love it so!
I'm happy to observe that Neil Young has at least accepted the extent of his gift. As a musician myself, it is interesting to see Neil's purposeful choosing of acoustic-based guitar to convey, "Ramada Inn" with all the awareness and pain expressed through it.

His poetic genius rights a lot of wrong and makes sense in a world lacking logic. Soothes my mind and my soul. Always has.
Neil Young est sans aucun doute la plus grande rock star de tous les temps..des musiques hypnotiques et une voix envoûtante.
I heard him for the first time in 1981 when I was 14...life goes up and down but his lyrics and music are always the soundtrack of every day.

So many years now together
All those good times, ups and downs
So many joys raising up those kids
They've moved on now out of town
So many times she tried
So many times she cried
And every morning comes the sun
And it goes rising to the day
Holding onto what they've done
She loves him so
She loves him so
She loves him so
She does what she has to
She loves him so
She loves him so
She loves him so
She does what she needs to
In a Ramada Inn, near the grapevine
They stop to rest for the night,
Traveling down south looking for good times
Visiting old friends feels right
People they haven't seen in forever
Since high school, San Jose times
The restaurant food and the bottle
Had a few drinks
And now they're feeling fine
And every morning comes the sun
And it goes rising to the day
Holding on to what they've done
He loves her so
He loves her so
He loves her so
He does what he has to
He loves her so
He loves her so
He loves her so
He does what he needs to
Seem like lately things are changing
Seems like lately things are going south
A few drinks now and she hardly knows him
He just looks way and shuts out
And when she says it's time to do something
Maybe talk to his old friends who gave it up
He just pours himself another tall one
Closes his eyes and says that's enough
Every morning comes the sun
And it goes rising to the day
Holding on to what they've done
She loves him so
She loves him so
She loves him so
She does what she has to
He loves her so
He loves her so
He loves her so
He does what he needs to
Seem like lately things are changing
Seems like lately things are going south
A few drinks now and she hardly knows him
He just looks way and shuts out
When she says it's time to do something
They would talk to his old friends who gave it up
He just pours himself another tall one
Closes his eyes and says that's enough
And every morning comes the sun
And it goes rising to the day
Holding onto what they've done
She loves him so
She loves him so
She loves him so
She does what she has to
He loves her so
He loves her so
He loves her so
He does what he needs to
And every morning comes the sun
And it goes rising to the day
Holding onto what they've done
He loves her so
He loves her so
He loves her so
He does what he needs to
She loves him so
