    I can remember hearing this song for the first time , and it made the hairs on the back of my neck stand up ! And mountain was one of my favorite bands , back in 1970 , I saw them way back in the day , at a college, in md . And his hair was still , black , and he was like , “the angus young” , of his day ! But you know what , I don’t think , that Mountain, or Leslie West , are in the R&R hall of fame , and that is very , very , SAD ! R.I.P. LESLIE WEST , you were the mountain , and still are in my world !

    • @deecee9735
      @deecee9735 2 года назад +5

      @@robjones8733 when you think about it , I sorta agree with ya ! But Leslie had more , true feeling for leads , in two fingers , more than any zack Wylie , or any other sheddder that ever lived , his talent went way beyond , almost anybody today , he made that guitar , talk , cry , I could go on and on . But I tried my best to get his phrasing , down way back in the mid 70’s , but I saw him down in a collage in md . And he was standing on a riser on the floor , about a foot off the ground , and I was right in front of him , the way he bent strings , and how his fingers just seemed to caress the strings , he was by far one of my first “guitar hero’s” for a long time ! And still is .

    Ol'Leslie West despite all the shit that happened to him, he had a great life. A fine young wife that adored him , he played Woodstock in it's hey day and as an old man still a hero among all the young bands and guitarists and died at home in bed. He was my first guitar player that I followed when I was a kid. Really loved that guy and what a great personality. Rip Mr. West.

    Thanks, much, for this upload, Rick. On my phone, screen cut-off all credits, and I didn't want to lose this (YOUR) video. I've made some comments here, about the few "thumbs down", and GUESSED at how this was made. Please don't take offense at any point of how you "captured" this. I am a photographer, also had problems getting stage access, myself. Perhaps that's why the few "down" votes - people expect high budget, Pro audio-video in everything... THANKS FOR YOUR EFFORT, time, and expense, to make this video, and sharing the upload...

      Rick Taiano - Rick, In this case, you did your best to capture a live rock show, with what you had at hand. I'm a photographer, stills, and about 4 yrs ago, Nikon - then Canon - added circuits for HD video capture, including Pro & "pro-sumer" , full size cameras (DSLR). Problem is, with first models, I had pro-quality HD video capture - BUT ONLY A STUPID, LO-FI condenser mic, built-in the camera body. (Canon T3) Everybody's got a video camera now-days, in their phone - just like you used here. PROBLEM : With only built-in, poor mic, you capture good video, but the AUDIO IS BAD. (No offense, you did best you could...) With that mic in the phone, you record LITTLE of the music, but LOTS of camera-noise : rattle, vibration, noise, + operator (breathing, etc.) If you had a friend there, with another phone, one person could record video, and the other person focused on - "voice recording" (if you weren't too drunk, or stoned)...
      You'd then haveta' mix them , on a laptop, or something, but the MUSIC was important enough to make that effort.
      ...Just an idea I had, prompted by this "music video" that you posted.
      If you are serious, at all, about video, or movies, "film", PRO RESULTS can be captured by using a good DSLR camera (switch lenses), that has a MIC JACK, add a decent microphone, THEN - you get good video AND audio.
      Canon T6i (the i is important ), or Nikon D-3400, with a 2- lens kit, can both be bought for $500, or so. Add a shotgun mic for another $100-200... and you can get PRO results.
      Thanks again, for sharing your work.
      -Mark, Michigan, USA ; 11MAY17.

    Takes me straight back to my hometown of Tucson Arizona....it's the early 70's and I'm with my most beautiful date Andrea S. and we're at the now long gone Prince Rd. Drive-In Theatre and watching Vanishing Point.....and this tune comes thru the tiny little theatre-speaker you put in your window. Even with that crummy little speaker.....this SOUNDED SO EFFIN' GOOD! Please Lord.....let me go back for just a day and one night.....I'll never ask another thing of 'ya. jbeinarizona

    Leslie wanted to go faster ... so eventually the band complies. Awesome to see the reverence for a legend.

    I saw Leslie at the Beacon Theater in 1989. The sound guy messed up and Leslie stopped mid song and threw a fit. Priceless.

    The Vagrants later known as Mountain began here on Long Island.
    My friends and I saw Mountain many times. 73&74 New Years Eve at the Felt Forum at MSG were epic.
