- Neil Young and Promise of the Real perform "Cortez the Killer" at Farm Aid 2017 at KeyBank Pavilion in Burgettstown, Pennsylvania, on September 16.
Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.

Mr. Young soothes my old soul I've listened to him since the age of 15. I'm 60 now. A complete sense of calm fills me when I listen to him.

Saw Neil Young twice in my young (33) life. First time with Crazy Horse (2013) second with Promise of the Real (2018 I guess). Never ever felt so emotional and thankful for this man and his music. Cried several times listening to his music, because memories are connected to many of his tunes. My father was with me visiting both concerts. Never saw him happier in my whole life while Neil’s performance. We both had tears of happiness and gratitude in our eyes. This moments I will never forget. If this musician dies, the world stops turning. His performances will be my absolute number one concerts of all time!

I saw Neil Young and went back again 3 more times because of the emotions that came out during his shows. I would have tears in my eyes several times at a Neil Young show, something that if ever happened at a concert would be once. Something about his music resonated so deep, I never saw it coming, wow, great memories revisited here.
If he dies, I will die…..love Neil Young since I’ve been 14 and Im 60 now….hopefully he keeps going forever!
On my bucket list. Respect and love him and his work. Really have enjoyed both the video and green vinyl The Barn. Cannot get enough of it. FYI…I am in my 70’s and have been a fan since he appeared on the scene.
People use the term Masterpiece sometimes when it does not really fit the situation. If ever there was a song that deserved to be called a masterpiece it is this song.

Sorry to say that I’m 56 years old, and just starting to realize the true genius of of this legend. Brought to it by my son who’s only 27. Love this guy now. Still exploring his music now, and I’m amazed daily. ❤️

Neil Young wrote the songs and played the soundtracks of my youth. Every song on certain albums resonate in my soul. Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere, After The Gold Rush, American Stars And Bars, Time Fades Away, Harvest, Zuma. One of the true great true rock legends who guided me trough times with LSD, psylocibine, pervetine, coke, benzedrine, dexedrine and so on. Those were the rocky seventies.
This will always be my choice for Neil Young's all-time best song.

Lukas Nelson and Promise of the Real was a really, really good compliment to Neil. Maybe not CrazyHorse, but extremely good in their own right.
Not Crazy Horse, but a great vehicle for Neil nonetheless. Love this, and hopefully Neil continues to work with these guys for a while

Saw Lucas Nelson + Promise of the Real this year. They may not be Crazy Horse...YET...but let me tell you,. They are fantastic musicians. Their encore was Down By the River and they absolutely killed it! Very nice back up for CH IMO, and they Nelson boys grew up loving and listening to Neil Young so there’s that!
