Lee V. Cleef the good old boy's, I love how there's alway's love compassion, understanding, and forgiveness with Ben Cartwright, what an amazing father figure, and a gentleman.
The best performance of Lee was when he acted under the direction of Sergio Leone and after that experience.....like wine getting better with age .....
It's just the way I feel. Straitghten up b4 it's over, and one of us is no longer breathing. It all turns out well for the child. Everyone finds love, except the dead men.
Thanks for mentioning that, I would have missed that. I remember Lee Van Cleef from that short-lived 1984 TV series (aired only 13 episodes) called The Master where he played some sort of Ninja master. Even in this Bonanza episode you can tell it's him by his characteristically Eastern European eyes.
Well, for starters, she wasn't kin, and the boy had just pointed a gun at Ben Cartwright and showed every intention of killing him right there at the gravesite if not for that guy throwing that shovelful of dirt in his face.
Bonanza is an excellent family entertainment except few unnecessary smooches. The entire cast in Bonanza were dead long ago. May God bless them highest place in Paradise..Ameen.
The kid DID assault the store keeper, steal a gun, and try to kill Ben twice. Is the sheriff just going to overlook all of that? And what about that floozy saloon girl? She put out a contract on Ben. BOTH of them should be in jail, and charged with attempted murder. Also, WHY does the saloon girl have such a hatred of Ben in particular, and the Catrwrights generally? She was in the store when Luke went crazy; she SAW what happened. Did she just expect Ben to stand there and get killed by a madman?
If that guilt trip is real it could be enough to make you wish you had not gotten involved, that you had let the man have his whiskey, however he comes by it.
I don’t think I like the way this movie is headed. I’m going to watch a few more minutes and if I don’t like what’s happening I’m leaving. I’m afraid the wife is going to blame Ben and poison the h son against Ben. 😢😢
To be completely honest with you right now. Honestly This was one of my least favourite episodes to say the least. Because seeing the way that the young boy wanted revenge and how he was so angry was too much for me to handle. The way Ben handled everything was so good. But I mean I don’t understand why Ben couldn’t just straight up tell the young boy from the very start that his father tried to kill him first and it was all in self defence which it was.
Dang those Cartwrights! Always meddling in other people's business...strutting around town all high and mighty. One of these episodes they're getting get what's coming!
Jamais imaginei a participacao de lee van crif tao jovem nesse episodio. Ja vi filmes com ele bem mais velho. Grande ator Obrigadal muito bom voltar no tempo. Obrigadal😕

Love will do that to a woman even if she sees the killing first hand even if she herself tries to stop what she sees coming I wanted to see more of couple without killing
Ok so the Cartwrights are really high and mighty!!!! Just Look at the way the show ended with big Ben and Hase saying the boy did not stole the horse and and therefore dosen't deserve to go to jail, BUT HE STOLE THE GUN AND KNOCKED OUT THE STORE KEEPER!!!!! THATS A CRIME BUT THE HIGH AND MIGHTY CARTWRIGHTS JUST CALLED IT OFF JUST LIKE THAT. LOL
Why didn't other western movie actors like John Wayne. Clint Eastwood, Terrance hill, Henry Ford, Henry Fonda etc etc etc also act in the bonanza series? Would love to know why?
Why is it that so many broads choose obvious absolute losers to love? I mean compassion is one thing, but love - I just don´t get it. Could it be that they (erroneously) believe that losers are so bad off that they´d never leave them.???
Broads? You have a lot to learn about women. First and foremost, classifying them as broads will only get you into trouble. Show women respect and you will get respect in return. That is probably why I have had so many men in my life. If they are deserving, I treat them like gold.
I hate it even more when someone such as Ben gets accused like that and they just stand there with a blank look on their face as if there was actually any truth in the accusation. Ben could have easily spoke up and defended his actions with the clear logic of what actually took place, but the script won't allow that because it takes away from the intensity of her accusations and they've got to make it appear that Ben is in big trouble somehow and dramatic as possible. You see the same thing happen in many many similar situations on TV shows.
This whole bit of hating the Cartrights out of jealousy is getting old. So many people always think the worst of them but you need less than two minutes to know they're good people.
You know i do not know for sure if ben did the right thing to take him in. But anyway. And To be completely honest with you and everyone else reading this right now. Sheriff Roy Coffee at his best, treading the fine line between being a lawman and a father figure.
This is the first episode he's in.

I NEVER KNEW LEE VAN CLEEF WAS IN AN EPISODE OF BONANZA LIKE IN LAREDO!!!!! I LOVE THIS💜💜💜💜💜
I think he did 2 or 3 Bonanza

I first saw him in "Escape from New York"! 😄
(I was born in NY so I loved that movie, lol)
I think Lee Van Cleef only did the one episode of Bonanza. Bloodline.
that poor old store keeper was hit up side the head twice, once by the father and then the son. he's not having a good week.
😂😂😂😂
Awesome
Good
Like father like son.
I think Ben can be too nice sometimes.
Lee Van Cleef! love that guy!
Good to see Van Cleef 😁
Boy just like his daddy ain't he? haha
I figured they should leave the boy with the woman from the start, but then there would be no show. lol
Well, for starters, she wasn't kin, and the boy had just pointed a gun at Ben Cartwright and showed every intention of killing him right there at the gravesite if not for that guy throwing that shovelful of dirt in his face.
It would be the same result - she would've kept lying to him & he would've tried killing Ben again.
The message of the Cartwrights seems to be: Do not, not get involved, though, your good intentions may turn out terrible.
34:50 The Grayson family doesn't seem to like that store keeper.
I was thinking the same thing......lol
Wow, Lee was so young in this episode. He got better looking the older he got.
Can't any of The Cartwright's go anywhere without being harassed?
But then would be no story.
Lee Van Cleef before his performance in
The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
You've always wanted to kill a Cartwright...well, not today
Next time don't talk,just shoot.
Unglorious the jucer's end of life
Well played by a young unnamed actor. Too bad he didn't appear in the credits.
David Macklin. It was at the end behind the ads.

I say stuff Todd, Ben was wrong to take the boy in, as Ben was do-gooder, Ben should’ve minded his own business, and let Roy mind his.
Here, here!!
If that guilt trip is real it could be enough to make you wish you had not gotten involved, that you had let the man have his whiskey, however he comes by it.
A boy of 16 😂, in those days, a 16 year old was considered a full grown man
Tired of Ben making excuses for the boy, gets ridiculous.
8:16, Todd wants to take his vengeance on Ben.
Notice that, did you.
Nobody ever tells Todd that his father got off two shots before Ben shot him.

They were MOVIE actors, not TV actors. (Although Eastwood was on TV in Rawhide earlier in his career.)
