And no wonder! I've already seen episodes that dealt with anti-Semitism, equal rights, religious freedom, patriotism, mental health issues and all within the confines of BONANZA! No wonder this series was loved by millions. I watched the whole series and am re-watching them here and can't wait for more.
This is one of my favorite episodes in the whole series. 5 year old Adam is just so damnably adorable and Inger is just so sweet. It's hardly a wonder why Ben fell for her. This show will never get old. I kind of miss shows like this.
I love how immediately Inger showed her love to Adam. Usually most women fall in love with man first & then his child(ren) that's if they do really love the children! Let's not forget Adam! At that young age without a mother no wonder he was drawn towards Inger! When you have that kind of beautiful relationship there are no "steps" in the family!
I love the episodes where Ben goes back and remembers his past wives. I wish they would have done more of going back in time with Ben. Always such great stages and and guest stars. So sad Hollyweird has forgotten how to make great moral series like this.
I love this episode! Inger is so sweet, kind, and gentle. I think Hoss took after her. He never got to know her, but he still has a little of his mother in him.
I don't know if alot of men are realizing this. These beautiful women are so very attracted to Ben cuz not only is he a handsome guy. But he was a hard-working caring man. A man of dignity and honor. Not a trouble maker. Not arrogant. Was even able to realize he might make a mistake at times. Not to proud to admit it. And most of all cared for his family.
Finding a good man like this? Have interests and hobbies and seek men who share your interests. Start relationships with activities you both enjoy and let the rest happen if it is meant to be.
The problem is that people today focus too much on the superficially, and not enough on the devotion. And Ben has that, "DEVOTION". Hence the high rate of divorces.
It’s a nice success story. Today resources are better and easier to get. Success with a good coach can totally change your life and others around you also.
"Headful of happy memories....If one loves, one loves with all your heart....It was worth waiting for...." Beautiful, caring, supportive....great qualities for a woman. Thanks Inga Swenson for portraying Inger wonderfully. Any man who had a woman in his corner like that hit the jackpot. And Ben was hard-working, caring, dignified, honorable....not arrogant, the perfect match for Inger. This is another episode that is worth reviewing in a class of female/male relationships: How the best brings out the best!!! Synchronicity of personalities and values. Glad that the story of Inger, Hoss's mother, was done in two parts.....and Inga Swenson played in both segments. Kudos to all !!!
I loved this episode as a child, and even more so now in my old age. Beautifully acted, scripted and directed. Inga Swenson was radiant, Jeremy Slate powerful, and Lorne Greene was superb. A young Adam Cartwright was also a plus. Many thanks!
Interesting how Ben as a very alpha male always faces his challenges head on, not backing down. And his wisdom is beyond the norm, for any gentleman, he deserved such gorgeous and charmingly elegant women, make's for great lovers, partners in life, and mothers.
That 'stoved up arm' of Dan's was a real injury !! It had happened in the previous episode they'd filmed when he and Pernell were galloping their horses in a scene together. When they both hit a section of loose small rocks, they both came off of their horses, when their horses lost their balance. Dan broke his collar bone and Pernell was okay.
@@AllRequired Except they don't always run the episodes in 'filmed order' , which is probably why they didn't bother to 'fill in the blanks' in this one, either. 'Out of order reruns' , 'Syndication', etc. It would get too confusing. :)
The thing I really loved is no foul language. I hear so many men today so loose with the F word. And right at their women. No respect. The F word can be bit funny when used at the right Moment. And not at your woman. If u really love her
You don't find women like Inger in the world I don't think today. So pure of the heart and soul. A woman like her is in love with her man til death do u part. What a heartfelt and touching story.
We are out there......drowning by evil men, an evil system, evil feminism...........we are being sucked dry from a Satanic system who hates real men and real women becoming a true and real family.
My dad was watching that episode when I was around 6 and I walked end right when the arrow hit her and it scared me. I didn't watch bonanza for 10 years because that's all I had ever saw. I love it now and regret those 10 years! 😁
That's cause they show her on 2 episodes where as Adam's mom is only on one and I think Joe's mom was only on one it's funny Hoss's mom raised Adam for maybe a year or 2 and Joe's mom Raised Hoss and Adam I wonder which stepmom Adam liked best Hoss or Joe mom
The second part of this is called 'journey remembered'...a really touching one with Inger as they head west. Ben reminiscing but the episode is retold and features Inger.

Desi, so it's said on Greg Bradford channel. Photo proof. I think he's right. Hollywood has played us with their fraud, over and over. Many got away with it but the ones still here are gonna pay. RICO crimes.
In later episodes, they are always talking about how hoss's mom was what would be said a "stout" woman, and she herself says she was not a small woman. I guess they tried to play that up as Hoss was a big guy but the actress is in no way what I was expecting to see. The same with Little Joes' mom she was supposed to be a Creo from New Orleans which I would envision as dark-haired and of darker complexion yet the actress who played her had light hair. Of all the wives I think Inger has the storyline that was developed more even though she was only featured in 2 episodes this one and the one where she was killed. I always pulled for the Cartwright men to get the girl although it seemed getting the girl was not the problem it was keepping the girl and keeping her alive. I guess a woman on the show would have changed the make-up of the show too much it was just sad over and over again.
With the ending of last episode I feel like a huge cliff hanger, the very next episode is this one, tying in the episode from season 1 or 2 with Ben's first wife. Wow. What a show.
I know everyone called him Hoss but I'd think Ben or Adam would be the only two to call him Eric. Example most call me Chris or Mac whereas Immediate family calls me Christopher
#42--S2 ep10---"The Last Viking----Uncle Gunnar (Neville Brand) turns out to be the leader of a vicious band of outlaws called the Commancheros that kidnaps Little Joe and his girlfriend.
Makes you realize the Ponderosa is really Bens and Hoss's Ranch. If not for Inger the Ponderosa may never have been. Of course with a man like Ben, he could have found his dream but it looks like Inger was the key.

JR Ewing what happened to the general store? They didn’t give it to the man that beat Gunnar up ?
