Great episode. Loved how Harwood put that dunce Bolton in his place by riding Sleepy without breaking a bead of sweat. Thanks for posting.

Great to see Daniel Massey. He was the son of the great Canadian actor Raymond Massey. His uncle Vincent Massey, was the first Canadian-born Governor General of Canada.

To Jeane C.'s comments below.I have noticed also about the horses never being shot in battles. IN REAL LIFE, horses weren't so lucky in the film industry, To make a horse fall TRIP WIRES were used. At the LEAST, they would get a gash on their forelegs, In the WORST CASE, they would break their neck. HOW TO TELL? If a horse goes down head buried in the dirt between their front leg It was a wire.
Most horses ended up shot after a scene from broken legs or bowed tendons. Since PETA and others got involved, only horses TRAINED to fall, would go down on their sides. Still cruel, but most did live. Some didn't.
My G-Father, George Lynne, a B movie actor was cast in over 50 westerns, and he told me it was incredibly heart wrenching to watch.
Well, Another 'Fun Fact'. Has anybody else noticed that Little Joe rides 3 different pintos? You can easily tell by their
tail and rump, also by checking the leg patterns. One Pinto for example has an all black tail, and mostly a white butt. Another one, has almost an all white tail with a black swatch in it, the third is almost all black on it's right side and the top half of it's main is flipped over to the left. What I find amusing is that they change horses more than they change clothes. HOW MANY times has Joe been shot, with either a arrow or bullet? He's been dragged in the dirt, knife cuts also slashed up that green jacket. DAMN! That jacket just keeps 'Healing itself! LOLol...
Actually, the Cartwrights always wore the same clothes so they could edit in stock footage clips such as just galloping through a meadow, or, a ride through town. It saved a LOT of production cost money. Does anybody else have a Bonanza 'Fun Fact?

@fsbas25 I DO know about horses. I grew up with them. YOU obviously know nothing about OLD western productions. Horses were bought cheap, ready for the meat wagon, They were cleaned up and were, ridden right into wires to make them fall. Ever hear of, "Head over heals"?
Some lived but none walked away without injury. This was a time before cruelty to animal laws were enacted. Now, horses are trained by professional trainers, NOT by stuntmen picking what horses, "Like to roll". Stuntmen were told what to ride, not to train them. Jeez, such an idea. ALL horses love to roll when they have itchy backs, parasites, a saddle being removed, etc. As I mentioned, MY info came from my Grandfather who was an actor in over 50 westerns. He rode many into wires and was always haunted by the memory. He said it was cheaper to buy horses than to train them to fall humanely. Also, laying 'all day' on their sides, CAN hurt them, It is too much weight on their lungs. Any vet will tell you, a horse down on its side, is not by choice, they are usually busy dying. A horse down resting, folds it's legs under itself, body upright AND, they don't do that often either.
Check YOUR facts and don't tell a horse person, they know nothing about horses. AND, especially one that has a Grand Dad in the film industry. You just sounded a fool.

@fsbas25 Jeez! Did you actually READ my post? I said, clearly, EARLY film productions, had NO consideration for animals. They were cheap. Only LATER, did PETA groups change that and required ONLY ANIMALS TRAINED to fall, would be used.

@@michelled.8593 Maybe I should have reworded that to say, I remember many years ago reading that they used trip wires in the old westerns. I do remember being very distressed by that fact. I also remember the article said that a lot of horses had to be put down because they were injured when the wire tripped them.

But really, I'm tired of people being sarcastic with me when I ask about technical things. I'm 68 and have not had all that much practice with it. I'm good with some of it and some of it I just don't know about yet. But it seems every time I ask something simple I get a sarcastic answer.

Not sure why you say that, anyone born within the US can be POTUS. Being born in the US is an automatic citizenship. And this baby has dual citizenship because it’s parents were European citizens.
