Satisfying wash that one. That citrus pre-wash worked wonders. I can see why in previous videos you had mixed similar into a foam pre-wash to dwell on but save a bit of time. It worked fantastic on its own.
That ceramic foam you used, i bought a similar one from sams detailing that does exactly the same thing. Except i used a foam canon to apply it. Really good product.
John, you're by far have the best detailing channel that I've found on RUclips, keep up the good work your putting in. I'm slowly catching up on all your videos.😊👌👍

I use Ewocar special drying towels 1200gsm one of the big ones was just enough to dry my Passat Sedan. And if I had my Fusso coat on the hole care it would have been plenty. And then the smaller to go over one more time. Those are really good towels.

Jon great videos as normal, but a massive pet hate of mine is those EZ wheel brushes they are far too course for wheels so in the name of forensic detailing…..
can you please do a test on a soft paint surface I.e. gloss black between a number of brushes mainly EZ and wheel woolies I’ve only ever used wheel woolies as I find the EZ brushes far too course for delicate finishes (what I wouldn’t use on the body I wouldn’t use on the wheels)

Barrel spends it's life having brake dust fired at it. As long as the clear is good high solid should fine mate.

Hi John, can you use surfex hd without it stripping Polish, waxes and sealants off your car... I'm guessing the more you dilute it the less Likley you are to strip any protection you have on your paintwork. How often should you use it aswell?

How thick that shampoo is would drive me crazy. Looked a bit thin and watery…i guess most would like a thick foamy shampoo but the results are what count i guess.
but wax isn’t dead….? That Carchem stuff looks awesome. Surprised behind the spokes were left but i guess there’s no real room to (i use a wheel mitt that’s a glove where you can put your thumb in to wrap round and get right behind).

Hi Jon, love your videos. Have some of the IK sprayers, but I’ve put surfex HD in there and it doesn’t spray very well. Almost like it loses pressure. Would you recommend putting it in a pump sprayer? TIA
It's calcification blocking the filters. You must use DI water with surfex

what's the name of the triggers you mentioned? I couldn't quite hear what you called them. I have the IK bottles but find the triggers they come with a little bit awkward at times
U can't get them in the UK but ive asked Imran to get them big blasters
What citrus cleaner did you use? That shifted the dirt amazingly 👌🏼

@@ForensicDetailing Im guessing the citrus cleaner will be slightly acidic, can this cause any problems with coatings if it is too concentrated
Love your videos but I do envy anybody who has the time to be able to wash and fully protect their car all in one day..... what with life/work I struggle to get a couple of hours every few weekends.
I used to as well.. but now this channel is my full time main thing so like it's kind of different. But lots are in your position.

My favourite tool by far is the EZ-Detail Go brush. Be careful with the end cap on the barrel brush as they can come off and leave exposed wire ends which will scratch.
I melted one once trying to unblock a toilet with One Shot totally melted it. Gutted but bought a new one just after
You know why your karcher k7 is cheaper than the kränzle ws-rp 1600 ts
The k7 has a plastic pump while the kränzle's pump is brass
My k7 has 5 year warranty, kranzle has 1. Impeller is not point if failure. Seals typically are or the stock guns

Possible silly question but could you use that ceramic foam after machine polishing the car instead of applying a wax/sealant/coating?
Typically no, they are better as mega rapid to applying toppers

Jon, I have a serious question about de-ionising water - do you know of or can you recommend a de-ionising setup? Some US detailers use setups designed for RVs (motorhomes). Why I ask - where I live the water is extremely hard (60°FH) and contains CaCO3 BUT ALSO Gypsum (Calcium Sulphate CaSO4) that is NOT removed by my water softener. The aim of the de-ioniser would be to remove the Gypsum from the water so I can rinse and not get white marks all over the car.
I have a softened water connection in the garage (12°FH) which should be good for washing but I still need to de-ionise it for rinsing the car. Any ideas? All the best, Rob in Switzerland

Don't think I've ever seen you clean the wheel barrels before Jon, do you always use a thin long reach barrel brush, or do you take the wheels off to do them properly ?
I tend to do it about 3 or 4 times a year, wheels off, proper clean and do the suspension/arches properly. In between I do what you did in this video.
Surprised you leave the wiper arms down (on the glass) when snow foaming, I was always told to lift them up before doing anything to the car. Not a criticism, just wondered as it's something I always do first before even blasting the crap off before snow foam.
Once a year I might take them off Nik otherwise the ez brushes seem to clean the best

Hi John, today i realised the biggest problem i have when cleaning the car. Its the Karcher 'standard ahort rigid plastic hose'! There are upgrades available but:
- pressure losses,
-kinking,
-ease of storage,
-fitting quality
-price
All of these things come into play.
Does anyone know a good hose 8-10m rubber hose upgrade?

@@You-are-right-but No!....I bought a hose off them for my karcher and blew the end off, they replaced it and that one blew off also. I eventually got my money back after I threatened them with the small claims court!!

Love your videos, but I'm always a bit shocked when I see that it doesn't seem to be an issue in your Country to let all these chemicals get into the environement. Strictly forbidden here to do that in the driveway. And I agree to that.
I'd be more worried about the pollution of driving rather than chemicals 🤷♂️
People don't understand the regulations here. Nor the nature of the chemicals. They see foam and think pollution. Burning fossil fuels is worse
@Flesch I assume you're writing from Germany? I understand that here in Switzerland it's not permitted to clean the engine bay without a proper oil collection system but washing the car itself is not forbidden as I understand it. I mean, when it rains, brake dust and road dirt gets washed off and soaks into the earth and underlying water table. Many products are bio-degradable these days. So foam, although spectacular, is not necessarily harmful. Products which harm the environment are probably not permitted to be sold. Can you buy car shampoo in Germany? If you can, I am sure this means it is not considered harmful. Products which are proven to be harmful are not on sale here (think Glyphosates).
And - when we are on the topic of harming the environment - if the green crazies switch off CO2-neutral nuclear power stations and then have to burn more (Russian) gas and brown coal to make enough electricity, I don't think we need to get paranoid about occasional car washing.

Wax is dead branding and labels are very poor compared to most. No excuse not to look great.
