Ceramic has to be the best for a long term protection model, but if you want something simple but effective, I just don't think you can beat Fusso Coat. Piss easy to apply, gives a nice gloss and lasts for frigging ages if you look after it.
Food for thought, my partners dad has a gorgeous 1969 Buick that he's in two minds about respraying it as the liqueur is thin due to years of polishing. Hi John, great video again buddy. Very informative as usual. I am interested to know your standpoint on ceramic coating a brand new, ‘from the dealer forecourt’ car? I have a new car being delivered next month and going straight to my local detailer for a ceramic coating. I am a weekend warrior so will invariably be cleaning and protecting every weekend…. Is it worth the ceramic coating? Cheers
Don’t do anything any dealer offers you as an extra. The way it’s set up is complete legal corruption and it’s never actually about the customer or the customers car. Where they catch people is through the finance by bundling all the costs into a deal and often not itemizing those items with individual costs… so all your left with is an extremely rushed careless leather protection, another rushed careless paint protection and a set of weather shields that has now cost you $1800, and cost the dealership $660. Your not the winner here
Fusso is pretty crazy. I'd say that as of now it's about as far as a paste wax can be pushed and still be a paste wax. If you're getting a year out of it (lots and lots of people actually do) then it's pretty freaking impressive for a traditionally applied wax from a can. The only thing I tell people to keep in mind is that as tech advances and we get better and better stuff, it's best to err on the side of caution and wear PPE. Fusso has PTFE which can be dangerous if mishandled so it's one to be a little more careful with I suppose.
Agreed about Fusso. It contains fluorocarbons which is extremely hazardous to both humans and the environment. It is a "forever chemical." The "other" wax industry - ski wax is or already has phased them out. Most if not all international ski race federations have now banned them. Please find and use alternative products. There is an infinitesimal array to choose from. Be good to Mother Earth and yourself while you are being good to your car. Thank you. Shine on you crazy diamonds!
Hello, I've been looking no searching and cannot find the definitive process to apply protection/finish to the car post wash and dry. I've watched a lot of your product comparison vids and they've been great but the problem I have now is less about the products (more BH than not) but in what order to use them. I am very new to detailing and still learning.. so if you have the time could you confirm the correct process? My thought process is claying, Micro fine or SRP, Sigma V2 seal and finally Finis wax. Is that the correct order of how to use these products? Thanks in advance for any guidance.
Wash dry decon if required m8 then polish and degrease or glaze no degrease then finish wax. Done m8 wash each week use bh qd 1 to 9. 4 months later wash dry primer polish and wax. Decon once a year. See detailing fundamentals playlist

I am sorry if i have went on alot as i wanted to tell you the products i have to give you more of an insight what im working with and able to best advise. keep up the fantastic work john and many thanks in advance
The full list twice a year is enough (going into winter, going into summer). Then do your pre-wash&shampoo weekly/fortnightly. If you use AG SRP+UHD wax, maybe stick with AG foam and wash first until it runs out. I wouldn’t bother with the Polar Seal until your UHD wax is fading. Swapping to another pre-wash foam isn’t going to harm, nor is a new shampoo - when the AG runs out just use your other stuff.

@@davidfigg Hi David. If they're piano black B-pillars then a the AG Serum Reson Polish will bring them up lovely if they're just faded. Wash the car or clean the pillars in preparation, and in the absence of a DA just apply a pea-sized blob of polish to a MF towel and work the product into the pillars in small 2p sized circles until the product is shining up a little. Then wipe over with clean section of MF. Assess the results and repeat if necessary. Note: tape up your rubber window trim in local area as polish can stain rubber. Use the same technique to get rid of finger nail/jewellery scratches from under door handles.

Just buy some all purpose cleaner and a decent moisturising balm, gliptone, meguiars all really good products You can’t feed coated leather, only clean it and keep it supple
Problem I had with meguiars ultimate polish when it flashed off it wouldn’t buff up and left staining ,I had to re wash and buff as I went a total pain in the arse. Would the meguiars ceramic spray cause that even though it was about a year ago
I sometimes have this happen with Ultimate Polish too. Last weekend I tried it on a friend's truck, and it was leaving deposits that wouldn't wipe away. This has happened at times, every time I've used it since 2013. This weekend I had an Audi S5, and using the same pad/ polisher/polish and it worked beautifully. Left an incredibly gloss finish. Things that helped were really shaking up the bottle. This makes sure all the abrasives and lubricants are well mixed. Nine out of ten times this solves my issues. I also make sure not to use too much product. I start with four small drops and reload with two on a 5.5" pad. I can usually notice when it starts to leave a deposit as I'm polishing. The deposit sits under the buffed liquid and is unaffected by a normal pass of the pad. If I sit on that section for a moment or two, the deposit will be worked away and the section easily wipes off. Meguiar's Ultimate Polish is historically my most used polishing liquid since I switched to a random orbital Porter Cable in 2013. Today I mostly use 3D ONE, but I still enjoy the performance and user experience of Meguiar's Ultimate. I also use Optimum's spray abrasives.
Only at the start of the video but my cars not in the garage and it’s brand new and I think ceramic coating regardless of where it’s kept , and also I think people should not keep topping up ceramic coatings and let the coating do it’s job

I also go through the car once a month after washing with Meguiars Ceramic Detailer. Will this extend the life of the base Autoglym Ceramic Coating to more than the one year claimed? If I keep layering, will base ceramic coating be extended indefinitely? My car is garage kept by the way. Thank you and awesome videos as always 😁
Anyone or jon can recommend a detail spray that won’t mess with the hydrophobics of a ceramic coating ? I will be applying ceramic coating after polishing my car but don’t want to mess with the coating by adding other stuff on top, just want something to help dry the car a bit safer
@@AndrewGibson22 Yh but that has built in protection and I don’t want anything that has protection in it as it will mask or mess with the ceramic coating , even Gyeon tell you not to use there quick detailer on top of ceramic coatings

Could you or have done a video on how to take care of leather look vegan leather seats or whatever people want to call none leather seats
Cheers
Ian
😃👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
About to reapply some Double Speed Wax and then Turtle Wax Graphene Flex Wax as wet application drying aid after each wash going forward. Which might work - or should I just stick with either the Double Speed Wax or the Flex Wax? A bit new to all this! Also got some Autoglym Reflow 2-Pack coming which doesn’t mention professional only now?
Off topic but new brand in Halfords , Yiannimize brand , guy behind is a multi millionaire and owns like lambos and Ferrari’s etc. I wonder if Jon will review it
How did u get that gyeon metal presentation box John? Im guessing it was a limited edition piece?
Will you do the glaco glass coating and mirror coating test please
Would suggest a Clay bar Shootout. I can't find any and I'm in doubt if I should buy Built Hamber again or try Smoothegg Frome Soft 99
I will do it
@@ForensicDetailing sounds great. Looking forward to it. 👍
How would you compare the Soft99 Fusso Coat 12 Months with the Gyean Can Coat Evo. Is it worth the upgrade or just stick to the good ol' wax, durability and glosswise?
Good thing about evo can coat is it can be used on the glass , chrome , plastics etc. The evo one is a beading monster and so is fusso but durability will be similar but slickness maybe better on evo can coat
@@M.E63 I know, never liked the gloss that the fusso produced either. Neither its application tbh. Durability was good though. I do believe that Gyeon Can Coat is a proper upgrade.
@@Melodic_Cellar Agree. I'm trying Can Coat soon. Let us know how you get on.
Cheers
If it's done well then I think so yes.
Your not the winner here
Could you or have you done one on cleaning a car when at a show, say after driving there then you want to clean it to show it
Question John, after machine polishing the car if you out wax on will that not add back the swirls as that concerns me, Thanks
Hello mate please try muc off miracle shine. It’s meant for motorcycles. Results are next level
@@audieconrad8995 love the advice and vibes! I try to be conscious of it but like anything else I know it's something I can be more consistent with.

@@ForensicDetailing fantastic thanks for taking the time to get back to me. Top bloke.
Picked up the turtle wax ceramic graphene wax from halfords for £20 with the new customer discount. Just wondering what spray u recommend as a top up / detailing spray for it? Something to keep it maintained a little better...
Meguiars HCW, TW Graphene Flex Wax?
I like gyeon qd
Absolutely top it with FLEX Spray. It is an amazing combination. I've been using the combination of the Graphene-Ceramic paste and the FLEX for a year now... amazing shine/depth of color and all the durability you'll need. 👍
I might add...wait 3-4 weeks or so before using the FLEX over the paste just to get a "feel" for how it looks and lasts...it is lovely stuff!
Brilliant Jon, bravo!
Are you not a fan of infinity wax products, there turbo 6 is fantastic and also been using there graphene qdx on my car gives amazing results would make a worthy review 👍👌
Cracking vid as always 🔥
so im just getting into detailing, have purchased some products as featured in your videos. I am just wanting some confirmation on the steps. as in do i pre wash/shampoo/clay bar decon/polish/ wax. after this how often to a carry out this process, looking at doing this every 2 weeks, with this is mind is the polish/wax needed every 2 weeks ?
also have some ag magma/clean wheels for the alloy wheels. The products i have are ag polar series ( balast/wash/seal) chemical guys honeydrew/watermelon, waxplanet 8 below snow foam, ag srp,ag ultra HD wax and 2 ceramic sprays - ag rapid cermaic spray/maguirs hybrid ceramic wax.
i know that the ceramics spray are not needed if i use the ag srp/ag ultra hd wax, kind of brought alot of products before discovering your wealth of knowledge, youtube channel. I also have the ag polar blaster and 2 mjjc canon pros for use with different products. car is a 21 plate astra(kept outisde on drive way), silver as offical colour but looks more like light blue. also have a k7 with the stubby gun you featured from in2detailing along with the yellow 16x16 plush edgeless cloths (10)
the srp will be applied with an applicator then buffed( until i can order the da8 polisher from in2detailing) and same with the ag ultra HD wax.
@@jwilson1744 thank you for your reply, greatly appreciated. also to Remove Scratches and Swirl Marks from Glossy Plastic B-Pillars which products/process would you recommmend ? many thanks again
@@as680783 oh thanks for your help, greatly appreciated 👍

Picking up a new car to me this week, has leather seats thinking of getting auto glym leather cleaner and auto glym leather balm . What’s your opinion on these products ?
Just buy some all purpose cleaner and a decent moisturising balm, gliptone, meguiars all really good products

Hi John, superb channel been following it for a while now, what are your thoughts on the scholl concepts Ecofix E-Wax as a protection product?
Not used it m8 but the all in one I am testing soon
How do stand with diamondbrite protection and products
Problem I had with meguiars ultimate polish when it flashed off it wouldn’t buff up and left staining ,I had to re wash and buff as I went a total pain in the arse.
Would the meguiars ceramic spray cause that even though it was about a year ago
Not normal perhaps overworking? Impossible for me to say
I also use Optimum's spray abrasives.
is adams Buteri a nock off /copy? butter wax from
no it was actually around first.
Only at the start of the video but my cars not in the garage and it’s brand new and I think ceramic coating regardless of where it’s kept , and also I think people should not keep topping up ceramic coatings and let the coating do it’s job
I have a question that I'm hoping you can answer please 😁 If I use the Autoglym Ceramic Coating and layer it by washing with Turtle Wax Ceramic Wash and Wax & Wet Wax as a drying aid.
It will help extend yes
Fusso is more of a sealnt though, correct?
😭
Yes
@@ForensicDetailing Not sure how to understand that emoji, John..?
Nice video
Abit of Zymol Vintage Glaze
Anyone or jon can recommend a detail spray that won’t mess with the hydrophobics of a ceramic coating ?
I will be applying ceramic coating after polishing my car but don’t want to mess with the coating by adding other stuff on top, just want something to help dry the car a bit safer
dreammaker makes this claim.
@@AndrewGibson22 Yh but that has built in protection and I don’t want anything that has protection in it as it will mask or mess with the ceramic coating , even Gyeon tell you not to use there quick detailer on top of ceramic coatings
@@ForensicDetailing thanks
@@ForensicDetailing I’ll try getting dream maker and gyeon mohs at waxstock
@@M.E63 GYEON claim their ceramic detailing spray is wonderful as a topper on top of their Ceramic Coatings but I have no experience with this.
Who wants to see the Golf with Gyeon Syncro! 😁
Absolutely ceramic coating becuase, its look clean longer. Waxes collect the dust. And ceramic coated car contaminates later
If you ever decided to film using other people's car's, and showing us common people about using materials. Please let me know, I will be there 👍
Hi is it possible to pm you?
I think the forms of protection you use are heavily influenced by 1. the fact you run a detailing channel and are always testing products and 2. you can garage cars up which makes a difference as you say. I agree we all have different requirements/needs/interests/time available etc. A ceramic coating makes sense for me but waxing your car every month will make sense for others….
Yer I think with no channel just a pot of wax I'd be happy 😁
@@ForensicDetailing ya know John...ya - at the end of the day...
You always say "ForesnsicS..." but the channel is called Forenstic.
guilty :)
@@ForensicDetailing Haha. Good summary though! I like you don't use ceramics, which is more fun trying new polymers etc. Winter here now, so looking for a heavy duty 'wax' - any new picks?
