@@ForensicDetailing I watched your channel when I was looking at buying cleaning products for my car. @@ForensicDetailing Brilliant Jon a well deserved sponsorship, well done. I am genuinely made up for you. I have no doubt a substantial amount of sales have come their way through watching your fantastic channel 👍🏼
@@ForensicDetailing Jon, thanks to you, I at one point looked into having BH shipped directly from them to the US and paying literally more for shipping than the product.. just to try it. Congrats finally getting sponsored! I tried BH products because your recommendation years ago, and never had a single problem with them and they always deliver what they promise. Keep challenging them though!
Surfex is what did it for me, after I used that I was hooked on BH and I love the way the run their brand. Products are simply labelled, they don't make 5 different ones to do the same job. They have a clear process that they believe in and make things that can be used to work through that process step by step. A breath of fresh air in an industry so often rife with misinformation and ambiguity.

I'm still not convinced about the roughness pre wash compared with auto foam.however I'm really impressed with touchless shampoo applied through a snow foam lance then simply rinse off an dry leaves a ceramic coat which is still working sfter six weeks. Another pre wash tactic is to spray on surfex HD at 1 in 10 put the snow foam on top you've then got a real powerful pre wash
@@davidjob6881 second your idea about Surfex HD on first and then BH snow foam on top. John has referred to this before and I can confirm having tried it for the first time, it really leads to having a kickass prewash. My MX5 had serious amounts of dirt from December to now on it and then tons of brick/tile dust (from being cut) all over it and I was fearing the worst. Congratulations on the BH sponsorship Jon. I've only been washing my car the last year using bilt-hamber on your videos. I've downloaded your bilt-hamber reviews for future reference.
I always thought my water hardness was effecting the foaming of my Auto Wash. It never seemed to last very long, however I always ended up with very clean car! Great video 👍
Really pleased on the sponsorship here - you've introduced so many people to BH products including myself. When I saw the title I wasn't sure how much would be added to all the other videos ... but wash bucket without foaming up and cold water rinsing for Autofoam ... always something to learn.
I've started using Bilt Hamber on the strength of your recommendation. Yes, its brilliant stuff. As my usual products run out, I will replace them also with Bilt Hamber. It's no wonder your car looks fantastic. Thanks for the video's

Thanks Jon,you introduced me to bilt hamber and I have been very satisfied with the results.you have definitely helped spread the word on there products,so a small sponsorship deal is only fair.thanks again Richard (Spain).
If I was going to calculate the PIR I would use weight. 1 litre of water is 1kg. Grab the bathroom scales. As it is I use what looks right. Fantastic video, brilliant sponsored content that is honest - that's a rare thing.... Thanks Jon and BH.
Congratulations on the sponsorship. Absolutely deserved, you opened many guys' eyes into awesome price/performance detailing products. Exposing other brands for spending more money on marketing rather than product developement :P
You turning me on to BH changed my life as a mobile detailer!! I was having such a hard time with Chemical Guys Watermelon +PP degreaser. I’d mix em so Purple Power had punch but the residue & water spots often made cars look worse than unwashed on the hot days. Bilt Hamber seems to take the manufacturing of GENUINELY fantastic products more seriously than other companies. They seem to consider engineering the wash process, thinking outside the box rather than looking to see what other companies are releasing; and R&D’ing a clone.
really interesting comment. but generally with BH stuff the end results are spot on. but its like when you first go from scene products to BH I think some people miss the thick dense foam, some guys miss all the scents and the nice branding of other products some people feedback its a bit less glamorous. Even the name branding Tropical Water Melon Crazy Crush Candy Sudz Shampoo versus Autowash. But the more you use this stuff the more you appreciate how good the end results. Less residue issues, I totally agree with you on that. I think its because the car cleaning products were introduced after the rust treatment/prevention products in the brands history. Also the evolution of the brand happened outside of the detailing sphere and the approach is totally different. (although dont get me wrong the detailing scene has a lot to offer people as well, a bit of glamour and bling is a good thing too)
This “pre-washing” trend for very dirty vehicles originated from the truck-washing industry, and carried over into the far more lucrative “car detailing” market especially in countries with filthy roads and miserably wet weather. As usual, such concepts are always logical and irrefutably effective. And its also a great strategy to: 1. make the consumer buy more products for washing a car. 2. greatly deteriorating the water repellency behaviour of sealants, waxes and coatings at a faster rate. 3. pushing the sale of spray-type maintenance products to bluff ourselves via a slightly invigorated water beading. All “pre-wash” products and car shampoos are merely surfactants or a blend of different surfactants. Its the formulation that matters, coupled to the grade of raw materials used. Thank you for your time and effort in creating the above video.
Hi John I have always been a firm believer in the pre wash is the most important part of the wash process, a good pre wash will really eradicate the use of the two bucket method. I use a citrus based pre wash through a pump sprayer leave it dwell five minutes then rinse, the car is virtually spotless once rinsed I then do a contact wash only using one bucket no need for two, I create no swirl marks with this method and have yet to strip my lsp. With regard to suds I have always said frothy suds don't clean a surface but the actual shampoo cleans the car so less suds means easier rinsing in my book the only real thing that I need from a shampoo is lubricitity. Trouble is with the detailing comunity everybody overthinks everything.
yes I find filling 2 buckets up overkill. specially now in summer. and I said 5 years ago if your rinse bucket is brown with water when you do the contact wash then you have missed the whole point of what a pre-wash is for. If your pre-wash is working properly you should not need 2 buckets. there are exceptions to this. like if you work to the ultimate highest standards and have like a pagani zonda with corrected paint and your a pro detailer and you prewash it and then use 2 buckets for best practise... then fair play to you thats like professionalism that customers will apreciate. so nothing wrong with 2 buckets.
been using the auto wash for some time now. i used to lather it up with my lance to gat a good foam. this foam always disappeared very quickly in the bucket. this used to make me think that the product was not working, so it is re-assuring to learn that "suds dont matter"! thanks Jon
What a brilliant sponsor to got here Jon, you must be over the moon. Fantastic video. I use a lot of bilt hamber products only from finding out about them from your channel, fantastic brand 👍 looking forward to the next one.
I have loved this detailling channel for years and its my favourite by miles. I especially appreciate the extra work to include the extra clip demos during the explanations. Thanks
Congratulations John on the sponsor! To be honest i have brought a lot of BH now. All because of your videos! I rate them highly. Great products and great prices. Really enjoy your videos.
Absolutely brilliant coverage on the products. Makes me more confident that I’m using the right products now I’ve gone professional. It’s a scary things going solo in the detailing world but your channel really helps and fills a lot of blanks in. Thanks Jon for another great clip. Cheers, Alan.
im so glad to this video is here i only started to use Bilt Hamber products because of seeing them on your channel and i have learnt a few things my self from this video {cold water being the main thing } i have dedicated racking in my garage for Bilt Hamber products they are my go to products
Whenever I’m watching your videos I feel like in back in my Organic chemistry classes. I appreciate your knowledge coming from across the pond🤗🤗🤗. Not to mention your natural sense of humor 👌👌. 🙏
I pretty much use Bilthamber exclusively for all my detailing. Their products are incredible. I'm not one for thick heavy foam anyway as I care more about the end result, and I can categorically state that Bilthamber takes the cake as far as quality of finish!
I’ve just finally bought bilt hamber stuff after watching your previous BH videos for years. Love it, thanks for the keeping on making these content. Also glad to hear that bilt hamber finally sponsored your vids.
Very indepth review Jon, I have used touch-less and was very impressed with the cleaning capabilities of it. Congratulations on the BH sponsorship if anyone deserves it its you.
BH is the best in the biz. There has not been anything that comes close to being as good as of a product that AutoFoam and SurfexHD are IMO. Our Scandinavian environment is very hard on our vehicles. Video is amazing and found out some cool new information about the products. Thanks Jon for this one!
Jon, I love this video! Have just splashed out on on an MJJC Pro 2 foam cannon and *Bilt Hamber Auto Foam*. Thank you for sharing your knowledge. Yours is the channel I trust. And I have only heard good things about *Bilt Hamber*. I will try *Touchless* next if I can get it here in Switzerland or neighbouring Germany. As a physicist having done some physical chemistry many moons ago, I can really relate to *Bilt Hamber's* descriptions of the mechanisms in play. Thanks for the PIR explanation - I have never heard that before. I will put *BH Autofoam* on a DRY car (I have 3 to clean) from TOP to BOTTOM. I usually start with Nigrin alloy wheel cleaner (turns purple) with wheel brushes before doing the paintwork. After rinsing I apply Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic spray and rinse that off, then dry the car with blower and thick towels. A contact wash is not always necessary due to the excellent protection from Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic spray that mostly forms a barrier to adhesion. I don't drive as much as my wife who commutes every day, her car has a mix of country road soiling (mud, leaves, grass) and motorway (oily road film). Thanks again, Jon for all your insights. Am pleased to have found a source of BH products that I can use in Switzerland. Maybe as I learn more, I wil convert completely to all *Bilt Hamber* . All the best, Rob
BH is great stuff. Not yet tried the Touchless but on the back of your video just ordered some ; can’t wait to check the difference. The bottom line with BH is that they clean not just produce a lot of foam. Great work as always...
Well done sunshine, about time you went up in the detailing/youtube world, As for Bilt hamber, the wife has been using surfex HD to clean greasy areas of the kitchen for a while at 10 to 1, way cheaper than supermarket products at that dilution rate, might try snowfoaming the shower next ;)
A brilliant easy to understand review. Touchless is definitely on my list to get. I’ve used autofoam with superb results, so looking forward to using Touchless!
Well deserved for the BH sponsorship, Jon. Your honest and thorough reviews are outstanding and have influenced so so many people about the brand/products. I believe your opinions won’t change for any future products either as there’s so many RUclipsr’s that are basically adverts.
Chuffed to see you got recognition from BH with a sponsorship, top work. Already a BH user but found this very interesting with all of the techy info you got from them. Will have to try touch less when my auto foam ends to see what I think. Surfax has many uses around the house too!
Thanks to your several video's about BH. I've just bought 25L for auto foam and 25L of surfex HD and 5L of auto wheel. A lifetime of supply for me but my nephew's use my products wash about 6 of our family cars too. S.HD in IK foamer is great. Thanks Jon.
Your channel got me into Built hamber after I bought a snow lance and wasn't impressed with the ebay snow foam I tried first. Got the BH stuff and " ah now I see what its really supposed to be like!" Since then added wheel cleaner ( the best by far I've ever used) surfex hd, double speed wax and auto shampoo. I now have 3 friends who also bought BH after seeing the results I get on their daily after a quick blitz it looks better than they manage with twice the time and effort for the same cost of product!
Glad to see you've got sponsorship now John, you do such a good job. I have you to thank for turning me on to BH some years ago and they now form the basis of much of my products. No BS products that just work and do no harm. I've probably got most of thier line up and have even used the excellent dynax range to protect the underside of my vehicles. These are well worth looking at in my opinion.
Another great video from you, thanks. A little more than a year ago I saw your video on Bilt Hamber Auto Foam. I could not buy it in Denmark at the time, so I ordered it in the UK. It was amazing. I posted some pictures in a Danish facebook car care group a number of times of the wifes white Fiat, dirty with winter soil and dark traffic film, with Valet Pro Foamula on one panel, and Bilt Hamber on another. After rinsing the result was staggering. One panel almost as dirty as before with dark film all over the place, one clean. I linked your video also. Now we can get Bilt Hamber a number of places here in Denmark, and there is not a Facebook thread on prewash that doesn't end up with recommending Bilt Hamber (sometimes others too, but always Bilt Hamber). Fun fact. I had some grease on my kitchen extractor hood, that I had given up on getting entirely clean. Surfex HD 1:8 did it. I didn't want to spray it in my kitchen, so just put in on a cloth, and wiped it off easily. Amazing.
I notice the same the same flemming its the cleaning power, I think most people do the cleaning power is the best on the market. believe it or not though the brand has become so popular now you get fake accounts posting saying the BH stuff does not clean well :)
was planning to wash the car today - the rain came and now i can't be bothered! BH stuff i swear by for the cleaning side of it, Gyeon for the protection and auto finesse for the fun stuff (snow foam like shaving foam!)
There's not enough hours in the day for me to catch up on all the quality content you've produced over the years! 😂🙈 But I will damn we'll try!! Another brilliant video mate, my surfex HD is on its way!! 👍🏻
This video was absolutely BRILLIANT Jon. I learned a lot of things that I never knew about road film, how it acts on the surface, how to safely remove it from the surface, and a lot of other things. You've definitely brought BILT HAMBER onto my radar so to speak. I've never used a Bilt Hamber product as for the longest time they were never available here in the USA. Now that they are, I am going to have to give them a try. I know you have been raving about this stuff for years and how effective (and better yet, COST effective) these products are. Dr. Jon. "I was in the right place, but it must have been the wrong time". NO, not THAT Dr. John, the REAL Dr. Jon!! The PHD of DETAILING! On a side note.........I always love your humor Jon.
Been using BH products for over 10 years and they all just work. Learnt a few things about them I wasn’t aware of too. I’ve never found a prewash that works as well as AutoFoam so will give Touchless a try when I next place an order.
Just finished a 12hr shift and watched your video eating my dinner ( don't remember eating it) laughing so much. Well done on the sponsor 👏 How's the weight loss going?
Jon, congrats on getting sponsored by Bilt Hamer! I am a new subscriber to your Forensic Detailing channel. The amount of car detailing information you share is phenomenal. I have purchased several products that were reviewed by you and have been completely blown away by their performance. Today I will be purchasing several Bilt Hamer products thanks to you. Thank you for what you do, it is impressive! As a person who loves to take care of my vehicles, it is so nice to be able glean from your knowledge. Keep up the great work!
Just watched this one, ( you have sooooo much content , it’s proper hard to watch em all 😂) but brilliant , that was perfectly put & really helped even an old got like me.
The tiny Michelle's form an Army of aggressive female combatants who swiftly and with great zeal destroy the dirt on your car. Fantastic video as always, albeit over a year old at this point but I hadn't used Bilt Hamber products in a while and thought I'd watch this once again to recap.
Great review i liked the info on the autowash shampoo I didn't feel i was washing the dirt when it wasn't foaming so good information, I would love a review on decontamination on the steps like which is best to do first remove tar or use korrosol or have the car wet or dry and dwell time etc.
I use some Bilt-Hamber gear. I like the Korrosol fall-out remover and the Auto-Wash. My bottle of Auto-Wash has lasted almost two years because you only need about a teaspoon compared to 4 capfuls of some other products. You're right, it doesn't foam up if you don't use the pressure washer to stir it up, so you have to remember what panels you washed because it can be harder to tell a washed vs non-washed panel so I need to be methodical or I end up washing the same panel twice (or three times). The only product that I don't like is the clay bars because they're just too hard to work with (even the softer version).
This should be a blueprint of how to do a sponsored video. It's no secret that you think very highly of the BH products, as per previous videos and them sponsoring the video makes sense. As it happens the reason I use BH products is down to your videos. Congratulations on the sponsorship. Question, on the snow foaming on a dry car, is it possible that the PIR that's been calculated by BH actually accounts for the car being pre-rinsed?
so the PIR is like the % that comes out the lance. the simple answer to your question is no mate. BH cant factor in the fact the PIR could potentially get knocked down and try and factor this in (at least im 99.999999% sure). because imagine that vertical panels have less water than horizontal. fresh beading cars will have no water on sides etc etc etc... life would get too complicated trying to factor this in mate:)
Thanks for the response mate. I do agree in terms of the difficulty to factor it in, your logic is spot on. Just something I wondered, when you mentioned it a few videos back and then today's videos reminded of it.
Another great one 👍 random question re under car, I cannot clean and protect it myself - don you recommend any companies who provide a treatment service ?
Hey Steve, so just get a cheap undercarriage cleaner like the quick release one Imran sells at in2detailing.. so boom you can now clean your undercarriage. In terms of protecting it. the shell of the car will be protected with a paint system and exposed cavities will be filled with cavity wax. so the underside of the car should be good. On an old car though rust can get in and it can need grinding and welding etc etc.. so its hard for me to recomend as you may have 2019 BMW, or it may be like 1970 alfa romeo with rot issues. you also have dry ice if you want to blast off light surface corrosion on components under there now but this is mega expensive.
@@ForensicDetailing Thanks Jon, really helpful and always great to see you 🙏 I did search for a dry ice company that works on cars but they all seem to be in the US at the moment - maybe it’s still a new thing.
@37:53 Swissol (swissvax) always said to use cold water with their products. That was from decades ago when I first used them and I've never used any warm water since then.

Trouble is with the detailing comunity everybody overthinks everything.
yes I find filling 2 buckets up overkill. specially now in summer. and I said 5 years ago if your rinse bucket is brown with water when you do the contact wash then you have missed the whole point of what a pre-wash is for. If your pre-wash is working properly you should not need 2 buckets. there are exceptions to this. like if you work to the ultimate highest standards and have like a pagani zonda with corrected paint and your a pro detailer and you prewash it and then use 2 buckets for best practise... then fair play to you thats like professionalism that customers will apreciate. so nothing wrong with 2 buckets.
been using the auto wash for some time now. i used to lather it up with my lance to gat a good foam. this foam always disappeared very quickly in the bucket. this used to make me think that the product was not working, so it is re-assuring to learn that "suds dont matter"!
thanks Jon
Congrats on the sponsorship Jon, couldn't ask for a better company to get it from!
John, been working on the PIR thing. Used the Pyrex measuring jug method. My wife would like a word with you if poss! 🤣🤣🤣
Used BH and then never looked back 👍 quality products
What a brilliant sponsor to got here Jon, you must be over the moon. Fantastic video. I use a lot of bilt hamber products only from finding out about them from your channel, fantastic brand 👍 looking forward to the next one.
JON WELL DONE ON THE BH SPONSORSHIP, THEIR BRAND IS BY FAR MY FAVORITE CAR DETAILING BRAND, FANTASTIC PRODUCT!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have loved this detailling channel for years and its my favourite by miles. I especially appreciate the extra work to include the extra clip demos during the explanations. Thanks
Thx Richard appreciate it m8
Congratulations John on the sponsor!
To be honest i have brought a lot of BH now. All because of your videos!
I rate them highly. Great products and great prices.
Really enjoy your videos.
Congrats on the sponsorship mate well deserved 👌🏽👍🏽
Absolutely brilliant coverage on the products. Makes me more confident that I’m using the right products now I’ve gone professional. It’s a scary things going solo in the detailing world but your channel really helps and fills a lot of blanks in. Thanks Jon for another great clip. Cheers, Alan.
I love this Bill Tamber guy, he makes some great stuff. ;)
im so glad to this video is here i only started to use Bilt Hamber products because of seeing them on your channel and i have learnt a few things my self from this video {cold water being the main thing } i have dedicated racking in my garage for Bilt Hamber products they are my go to products
Love Bilt Hamber, well done in getting sponsorship . You are always honest
I just bought touch-less because of you and I can't wait to try it out! Best detailing channel I have some across very well spoken
Thx u
Absolutely outstanding video. I can’t explain how helpful this was for me in understanding ratios and learning more. Thank you so much!
Been waiting for a proper TouchLess review, thanks.
I know that the video is not the newest one, but it answered most if not all of my questions about how to wash a car.
After all this years of talking good about BH finally the sponsor !! 😜
I love to clean with a mix of autofoam and surfex
im such a bh fan i had to watch this again, and will many times. you introduced me to the brand very thankful
All the best, Rob
thank you rob sending good vibes to you and your beutifull country.
BH is great stuff. Not yet tried the Touchless but on the back of your video just ordered some ; can’t wait to check the difference. The bottom line with BH is that they clean not just produce a lot of foam. Great work as always...
Can you please make a comparison on the surfex hd and touchless
Your BMW must be the most washed car on the planet.
Like your videos. No crap just honest research 👍
Well done sunshine, about time you went up in the detailing/youtube world,
As for Bilt hamber, the wife has been using surfex HD to clean greasy areas of the kitchen for a while at 10 to 1,
way cheaper than supermarket products at that dilution rate, might try snowfoaming the shower next ;)
A brilliant easy to understand review. Touchless is definitely on my list to get. I’ve used autofoam with superb results, so looking forward to using Touchless!
Cheers Jon. Ordered the Surfex HD, AutoFoam, Korrosol and Auto Wash. Thanks for taking the time for the review and guidance
Well deserved for the BH sponsorship, Jon. Your honest and thorough reviews are outstanding and have influenced so so many people about the brand/products.
I believe your opinions won’t change for any future products either as there’s so many RUclipsr’s that are basically adverts.
I'm a year late but that's amazing rhat you got a sponsor with Bilt Hamber!!!! So cool.
Thanks Jon.
Been using all these products for years on your recommendations, great video as always 👍🏻
Great video. pretty much all my products are Bilt hamber
Echoing the other comments, I’ve used BH products for years after seeing your reviews. Clay, Surfex, Korrosol. Simply the best bang for the buck.
Congrats on the sponsor Jon. Awesome video 👍
I use it way too strong. Great stuff. Do you want what’s left of that Sonnax Perfect Finish? I’ll take it. 😁
Your channel got me on the BH train. Its hard to deviate when they work so well.
By far the best wheel cleaner on the market. Barely needs contact.
Hi Jon, I ve always done 300ml in 1 litre lance . I haven't used touchless yet. I even dilute auto wheels 2.5:1 and find it works a treat.
Good to see you do sponsorship right, (from brands you actually like to use) I've been using bilt hamber for round 2 years now because of your videos
Jon, you got me onto Bilt Hamber. Glad you did 👍🏻 great video!
Congratulations on the sponsorship. Well deserved 👏
Surfex hd is an absolute beast of a product. I think the wife uses it more than me, handy on household jobs as well as cars.
Only used BH soft clay and auto wheel before seeing your videos and thanks to your honest reviews I’m building quite the BH collection. Great job!
was planning to wash the car today - the rain came and now i can't be bothered! BH stuff i swear by for the cleaning side of it, Gyeon for the protection and auto finesse for the fun stuff (snow foam like shaving foam!)
I wouldn't bother with Auto Finesse anymore, since they got into Halfrauds, they've been rubbish
On a side note.........I always love your humor Jon.
thank you Joe
Congrats on the BH sponsorship. Great review!
Well done on the sponsor 👏
How's the weight loss going?
thanks Mike, its ok I seem to hit a plateux of about 19 stone. need to cut down calories more ;)
Jon, congrats on getting sponsored by Bilt Hamer!
Thx u David appreciate it m8
Bilt hamber every day for me I use all of these products. Great work John 🚘🧼 keep it up. 👍🏻
Can’t go wrong with Bilt Hamber. Would happily use their complete range.
Came back to this one whilst looking for a different wheel cleaner... Still excellent!
I've been using there stuff for years. Mainly on trying to stop my mx5 rusting away. the cleaning stuff is also brilliant
