Both are pretty comparable having seen both. In fact of all countries, Canada reminded me of NZ the most, just the plants, roads, wildlife and rocks are mostly foreign.
Come over mate! Bring the family
That scenery in the vid is a mere strip of corn in the wind compared to what else is in New Zealand.
A lot of it is not like that , but for the most part yes especially the South Island! I would definitely duck Auckland
Been there a couple of times. The scenery is pretty mild to be fair, compared to many other stunning views that NZ offers.
Come over Bro, and see for yourself
Caparo T1 on steroids
yes and probably as reliable
Hopefully without the flambe...
Real life Red Bull X 2019
What a man of culture you are sir!
Gaparo G1
As cool looking as a old school batmobile and performance to shame anything else.
Well played good Sir! Your achievements are commendable. Love it!
Projects like this are so incredible to see. Beautiful stuff.
So basically a new Zealand billionare I'd just doing this for fun before he pops his cloggs hahahah love it
I think he's Australian but couldn't build the track in Aus due to regulations. Even though they have a whole continent to 27 million people 😅
Yup . blows out his flip flops.
I remember reading about this car in EVO years ago and in the letters somebody was doubting that it would ever happen. But they were underestimating David Dicker when he goes for something he see's it through! The world is a better place with this in it! Can't wait till Olly drives it!
Adopt me 😂 9:16
Both of us
Love his honesty. Points out the things he doesn't like or doesn't work and how he plans to change them.
This is the kind of project feature that I like to watch, not the supercars that big automotive companies make.
I think the groundsman deserves a mention too 0:44. Do they also have a CNC lawnmower???????
I did notice that. Some precision mowing there.😅
Probably using some farming program to get it perfect, or they've done it for 30 years lol. That's not too uncommon in NZ.
Nah mate, farmers grows grass. I make grass look good
@@evanwoolf9267there he is! BIG ev 🤝
Geez it would have been cool to see Rodin have their bid for F1 team be accepted. They would have brought do much character to F1.
I believe he wouldn't want to enter, too many rules for his liking I'd think.
@@bennylloyd-willner9667read the article I posted.
An amazing car, project, guy, setup a scenery. I can't wait to see this completed.
A close family friend used to own two, $500,000, GTP cars.
From the side, it looks a lot similar, only with some Batmobile like extra bits.
Pretty cool.
This is such an incredible combination of serious investment and wacky car design. Love it.
I am more impressed with who ever cuts the grass at the racetrack
Sheep
Same here! Lawn was top notch. The car, less so….
Wouldn't be surprised if he does
His names Evan. He’s absolutely the most badass employee I’ve ever worked with.
I drove on the track. We were told to go as hard as we liked but warned not to damage the grass.
Looks like a car from the video game F Zero. Cool!
And no-one else here remembers that game.
@@CerberusTenshi Mute City. 🎶🎶🎶
Nintendo's lawyers are inbound to shut this down.
I was looking for this comment. Some people comparing it to the bat mobile, but it's literally called F-Zero.
Someone on the team definitely played the game. That guy is definitely not doing all this on his own.
@@JamesChurchill3 it's alright, even nintendo forgot about that franchise...
I would like to see a head to head with the red bull car to see which car is better in different areas, but hats off to this chap for working hard to get his wealth to build a truly stunning groundbreaking car. It looks and sounds amazing.
I like that dude already. I hope he gets his project where he wants it because that is amazing
I find it really funny that dude drafted up his own bodywork. He has a lot of heart, and that seems to be what counts.
Now we see how he is able to deliver all the Christmas presents in time.
We need Can-Am racing back again!!
It would like this yes. ❤
the front end is 100% Gran Turismo X2010, down to the way the cabin flips up and forward. it's like David said I want bits from this and bits from that, package it all together, make it lighter, and afterwards we'll work on the designs of certain elements for refinement. and with that kind of investment, and the ability to make a car FROM SCRATCH on site and be able to test it as well, why the hell wouldn't you? awesome stuff from the NZ neighbour.
Made the money, no kids, cannot take money to the grave, builds dream car. What a man 🤌
If I am to find myself in a similar situation, I just might try a similar passion project involving a private test track to deduct from my taxes.
This is an awesome set up. The track, scenery and the car. Very cool use of his money and time.
I am honestly more impressed with the capabilities he has developed than the car. That motor package is quite an accomplishment. I sure hope he has a legacy plan for those facilities in his estate. NZ should slap some sense into European supercars like they do in sailing.
Definitely the new Batmobile concept
It reminds me of an old-school batmobile. Seeing the age of the guy in charge, it makes sense.
There was a game with the same name as this car. That's where it came from I'm sure. So sick
I like this top gear more. Hearing insight about what goes into a car design and a story behind it is interesting.
The equipment and skill let alone the hands on work required to completely fab an engine is enormous. Impressive.
Absolutely love this guy and what he’s doing
Love a job there, I’d sweep up, wash the windows, anything, just to be around the job!
We need to bring back "no rules" racing like CAN-AM used to be.
Yes you would think it's time for another can am style competition with all the wealth and technology about today
The car looks wild. And the Fzero name fits it because it looks like it could've come from the F-zero video game with those monster fins.
That 180* crankshaft firing order sound badass!
Jokes aside, this is a magnificent feat of engineering. Zero compromise
This guy should be an owner of an F1 team. Reminds me of Frank Williams. The right attitude and the willingness to take risk yet always run the calcs. Best of luck to him building his road cars. I also see some Gordon Murray mannerisms in him.
13:40 Boys we are so back... Can-Am design and 1500 hp V10 ...
couldnt get any better
this is a real car guy who became rich but held on to his dreams
not just some evil "philantrope" ...
its a hybrid according to their website: "HYBRID SYSTEM 130kW direct crankshaft drive electric motor"
Go on tell me you didn't have the bat mobile in your mind when you designed this, the side view is pure bat mobile, love it!
The first thing I seen when I look at that car is, that is just the love child between the Caparo T1 & 1989 Batmobile.
This guy reminds me a little of John Britten, thankyou fantastic Kiwis! 👍
I love how genuine and down to earth he is 👍
Well done Mr Dicker truly amazing creation
I absolutely did not expect this .
It's funny how most modern supercars look like toys from the 80s/90s
its all about standing out.
Is that honestly a surprise? The people who were kids playing with toys then are now the ones who are designing the cars, of course you're going to build your childhood dreams into reality 😊
Yeah. It does look like straight from a Hot Wheels car. Kinda based on Power Pistons.
Reminds me of the Caparo T1. Very interesting. I wish them luck, most small sports car makers go bankrupt. Unfortunately I'll never even get to see one. Looks a bit like a Batmobile. Thanks.
*Explaining extraordinarily complex engineering that goes into producing a cutting edge supercar*
"Yeah, I just do it in CAD. I just draw some lines and change some lines and do stuff."
That's the most Kiwi possible answer to have given. Love it.
Fantastic! It's fabulous to see such a passion come to fruition
