These look like a brown sugar cookie base I have made for over 25 years! Incredibly versatile dough. Good to see the younger generations making cookies from scratch again. Did you know that most cake and cookie doughs/batters can have the sugar reduced 25-50 percent without ruining the final product. You could add some nutrition by running some of your rolled oats through your food processor to make flour and replace some of your white flour.
Hi Carla! How special that my cookies are similar to the ones you’ve been making for 25 years! That makes my heart happy. I did not know that about the sugar. I actually have a video going up on Monday to talk about freshly milling grains! You will be seeing more of that on this channel 😉

I read somewhere that you can take the wrapper from the butter and fold it in half put it in a ziplock bag. Store in freezer. Then when you need to grease a pan take one wrapper and rub it on the pan. It’s a great way to not waste the extra butter that’s on the wrapper.

So when I make cookie dough, and there are only two of us, I roll the dough in the appropriate sized balls, put on a cookie sheet, freeze and then bag the frozen cookie dough balls. Take as many balls as you need, thaw enough to use the cookie stamp, then bake. But you have given me great ideas here. I'll start soon for Christmas baking so very glad I came across this video. Hello Dear your dough is to wet because you added to much vanilla. Yes that can be a thing. It effects many many things in your finished product having to much or to little liquid. Baking is a science, you can't really treat it like cooking a dash of this a dash of that. Unless it's an addition to a finished recipe. You had a great idea when making the base. Put you should try to adapt the recipe with a one to one or a similar product or in best guesses for less amount. That's like adding applesauce in place of oil. If you want to put additives that will change the texture of the outcome. So if you want to take a chance maybe look up the outcomes for other additives effect to just get a guideline. How will peanutbutter change the texture of a base cookie dough. I know you say it's not that big a deal. But you started by saying you are trying to buy better quality ingredients. So by guessing you are taking a chance of wasting your more expensive products. Lastly though not a lot of people follow it you are not supposed to underbake your cookies to get a soft texture. If you prepare the cookies with the correct ingredients at the correct temperature soft but not melted butter or room temp milk & not ice cold then you can bake your cookies at the correct time & temp & it will come out soft but be fully baked. I would also try a small sample of 1 batch before ever trippeling a recipe. Please note my dear none of these suggestions are to discourage you from experimenting & having fun in the kitchen just to give you some baking tips from a long time PastryChef that will hopefully save you on some costs which now are simply out of control & in my mind much to precious to potentially waste. And also give you better outcomes. With more secure recipes to pass on to your viewers.😊 Anyway it was lovely watching your real life outcomes, & your reactions. Have a great day & much L❤VE from Kentucky!
OMG. Lovely video and I appreciate your recipes. However, I found it so hard to concentrate because you moved you candle under your cabinet and I was worried it would burn the bottom of your cabinet.... or perhaps start a fire. May I respectfully recommend that you do not put candles under your wooden top cabinets. this was a definite fire hazard
Oh girl, the bottom of that cabinet is so messed up from that exact thing. Also, the toaster goes there when I’m not filming. The paint is all warped and stuff. My husband gets on to me all the time. It’s never started on fire but it gets warm. I’ve been a lot better about it after my husband pointed out the warped paint to me.

Thank you for all this info!
@@faithandarrowhomestead Anytime dear, I enjoyed watching you try this out. I'm glad you were happy with your results. 😊
Dog hair 🤢
Touching your hair and then carrying on. Really?
Everyone forgets sometimes, she's nervous, just imagine being in her shoes. Haven't you ever touched your face in the heat while making supper?
It’s a home not a restaurant
yes, my family has no desire to have food in their food either

So excited to find your channel until you started touching your hair. That's a big no no in the world of food service. I realize this is for your family but when you are teaching others you should rise to that high standard. Good luck in all you do. 😢
Peanut butter powder would work and no more moisture
Great idea!
I kinda like she stuck with stuff in everyone's pantry...
Just saying
