They all sound like quality men and that's so nice to see not just one example, but many. I love your channel and I wish only good things for you and your family.
I got married back in 1975. I’m old. Lol. I was gifted a KitchenAid Mixer on a stand. I loved it. Used it all the time. I’ve moved so many times. I don’t have that now. I cannot remember what I did with it. Can’t remember if it broke. I have been without it for over 25 years. The other night a Black Friday special from QVC (yes. Im addicted) popped up in my emails. It was SUCH AN AMAZING DEAL!!!! I bought myself a Christmas present! My first one was a ‘70s Gold color. Red is my favorite color. Yep, I got a red one. Now every time you pull out your mixer, I get excited. Mine will be here next week. Yay!!!♥️♥️♥️

Becky I used to read a lot of blogs before discovering what was on RUclips. Many of these individual bloggers have gone on to write award winning cookbooks.I still do read my favorite blogs. One of the big recommendations from many was to chill cookie dough before scooping them onto sheets to bake. The recommendation was to place your dough in the fridge to chill allowing the fats to cool. As a result, the cookies will expand more slowly, holding onto their texture. Chill anywhere from 24 to 72 hours but shorter times also help. The longer you chill the dough, the more flavor will develop. The flour will also absorb more of the moisture so the thicker and chewier the final texture will be. It is better chilled in the fridge. It is the same technique when making puff pastry and pie crusts. I just place my whole bowl in the fridge. I am discovering this is really important when using ancient grains.
Hi Becky! Funny story, I’m planning to go to my boyfriends grandmas house tomorrow to bake some Christmas goodies… I asked my boyfriend if there’s anything he’d like, his response was CHEWY snickerdoodle cookies… my first thought after he said that was to check your channel and see if you had any recipes for that.. When you were reading through the cookies you’d be making in todays video I did a happy dance when you said CHEWY SNICKERDOODLE!! Thank you so much ❤️
Also, you’ve been on my mind these past few days.. I know baby time is around this time.. Praying for you, Josh and baby!! Hoping you have a pleasant birth and are getting some yummy baby snuggles ❤️
I freeze my cookie dough in logs wrapped in plastic wrap then when I want some I just cut off the amount I want and slice it up and bake it. It's super easy!! I hope all is well with you and Josh and the baby. I have been waiting patiently to hear any news! Wishing you the best with your delivery!!💕
Fun retro fact: During the 70’s some time after Pringles were invented, it became a popular trend to use the empty tubes/lids as storage containers for frugal home bakers to freeze their wrapped cookie dough logs in. Lol…Yes, I’m that old that I remember it first hand.
Yay a video! But...all I can keep thinking is "I wonder if baby is here yet? Oh I hope someone posts on community page once little one is here!" I think we're ALL excited & on tenderhooks.
Soft and chewy all the way! I make literally a couple thousand cookies every year for the holidays for gift baskets. I make all cookie dough as much as several months ahead and I freeze them just like you did. They come out so much better from frozen. Love watching you! Happy baking!
@@tabeamuller6467 no I put them directly into preheated oven. It takes about 5 minutes longer time than recipe says. They come out great!! Merry Christmas!!!
I so enjoyed this. Went cookie crazy when I was close to having my baby. We didn’t have room to freeze the dough. Family, friends, neighbors were all recipients of my frenzy. 😂
Team chewy. Thanks for being so thoughtful and having videos during your baby’s arrival time period. We love your videos. Praying for an easy delivery.
Woo Hoo, a Becky video!!! It just so happens I’m making the Brown Butter chocolate chip cookie recipe today! I’m quadrupling the recipe because I’ll scoop them out and flash-freeze them so I can bag them up for ease of baking from frozen. Making some dough for a cookie exchange as well as a family gathering. It’s our favorite cookie recipe now. I like nuts in my cookies as well so I just add them to the top of a few of the cookies. Everyone gets what they like.
I wish I had a freezer big enough to put a cookie sheet in it. I take a big glob of cookie dough and put it on waxed paper and roll it into a roll like a long cinnamon roll log and scrimp up the ends. I keep them in a gallon freezer bag. You can use a scoop and make them all the same shape. Saved space for me. I'll try your idea when my freezer allows space. Anxious to hear all about the little one that is soon arriving. You are so prepared! Wishing you blessings!!!
@Marlene Bennett when I flash freeze cookies I just use an 8x8 tin, put parchment paper in the bottom, a layer of cookies (I put them as close as I can) then a layer of parchment, another layer of cookies and keep repeating. This way its only a small tin but I have loads of layers. Even if you don't have space for that size you can always remove a piece of meat as you're only putting the tin in for an hour or so it won't thaw out
I love that you have no shame in stating that you do not like a certain type of food. I always have the assumption that those who love to cook/bake love everything.
Becky! Viennese Cresants are made with ground hazelnuts or almonds - Most people don't even know they have nuts in them but the flavor is there. Try grinding the pecans in that butter pecan cookie recipe. I can't wait to try that one, because I'm just now starting to crack, pick and store the fresh pecans from my trees! Yum!
Ooooh I love those little things it’s so easy to destroy a whole box. They just give you pretty bad indigestion because they’re super fatty from all the nuts lol. Becky probably wouldn’t like this version though bc she said she likes chewy and grinding the nuts leads to a dry and crumbly texture like the Crescents have.
I am agree with Most of the comments here that this is a prerecorded video ! I hope you are feeling well and if you had the baby I hope that you, josh and the baby are doing great! As to Adding corn starch to a batch of cookies it make them a little more like a cake consistency after it is baked! Love Love your video's. They make my day!
Thank you for blessing us with these videos while you are away!! I'm sure baby is here by now, sending lots of love and prayers for you, Josh and the little one!!! ❤️ Team chewy cookie all the way!!
I'm 60 years old, and watching you, is the first time it's dawned on me to freeze the dough balls, and not the baked cookies. My husband absolutely LOVES fresh from the oven cookies! It's been a delight to be sitting, watching TV, and at any time, I can ask him if he wants cookies, and I know if he does, there will be hot cookies in less than 30 minutes! .y son in-law doesn't eat sweets often, but he also likes fresh baked cookies, so I took a bag of frozen dough balls, with baking instructions, and gave them to him to hide in the freezer, to bake any time he wanted them!
Last year I was having such a hard time with my cookies spreading in the oven! But after much more testing I finally got them to not spread 🙌🙌 thank you for sharing these recipes Becky! You're such a blessing to this community and we love you!
I use half butter/half crisco in my cookies and brownies to get a good texture. W basic chocolate chip, i add a cup of oatmeal and a cup of pecan pieces and it makes for a much less doughy cookie...delish :)
@@kathyharper7187 yes! I found it was a mix of melting the butter too far, not creaming the butter and sugar enough, and needing to refrigerate! Now I just do those things and they come out wonderful. The spread out cookies are good too, but I'm glad I figured it out
I had the same issue for awhile and then I realized that Walmart butter had liquid in it. They don’t drain off all the whey when they make the butter. I suppose they do it to save money but I started using name-brand butter and it solved the problem…

In any recipe, baked or otherwise, unless it specifically calls for raw nuts, roasting them is always a great decision. It brings out so much more flavor. How many times I've watched baking competitions and they always stick them if they haven't toasted their nuts. All these recipes sound great!
Omg I never realized that they were making silicone freezer bags until I saw your videos I’m excited so I won’t be buying those other bags anymore I’ve bought me a bit of a stock pile lol thank you so much I look forward to your videos every day after work I come home I sit at my kitchen table and watch your videos as well as some others from RUclips but I just love watching and seeing things change And grow I’m so excited and happy for you and Josh for the new baby I can’t wait to be able to see mama Becky
I'm definitely a soft chewy cookie person! If you leave the sugar off the snicker doodle it would be more chewy. Also I've never put egg in my peanut butter cookies. I make them the same way, just minus the egg. They turn out soft and chewy every time. I'll definitely have to try the butter pecan! I lovvve butter pecan ice cream! Its my favorite too! Thanks for the recipes and great fun in the kitchen! Have a blessed weekend! 💞🙏
Try adding dried cranberries and white chocolate chips (and toasted chopped walnuts) to your cinnamon oatmeal cookies. My absolute favorite 'healthy' cookie. You can leave the nuts out when you make the dough and just add a few to yours when you bake them. That way you get the nuts you enjoy and Josh gets his without.

My youngest daughter and I started our cookie cooking. We called it the hot mess cookie express. Wish us luck. They will hopefully make it until December.
Hi Becky, I found these recipes very interesting, my kids would have loved them, such a good idea to use that small ice cream scoop to make sure your cookies were all the same size. Years ago, when we lived in Canada, my Mum used to have a making day when she would make cookies for us to take to school and Dad to take to work. She would make up several different kinds but they would be made into logs and wrapped in baking paper, then saran wrap before freezing, then when she wanted to cook them she would just slice off the number she wanted, then re wrap and in 10 to 15 minutes she had a batch of fresh cookies in whatever flavour we wanted. They were great, so much better than the store brought ones. Take care xx
My favorite part of this video Becky was seeing your dog sniffing the air when you were making your peanut butter cookies. Love your videos as always Becky! Maybe next time you're making the chocolate chip cookie dough, scoop half of the dough into balls then add in walnuts to the remaining dough. Then, you and Josh both get the kind of cookies you like!

Thank you so much for sharing your trials and errors too btw! It’s hard trying new things and trusting they’ll turn out lol ❤❤❤ Edit: p.s. we have some nut allergies in our family so we do the whole batch without and then separate half and add nuts to the second half so that there’s something for everyone! Just make sure to store them separately
I’ve done peanut butter cookies with choc chips and also choc cookies with peanut butter chips. My kids love them. My favorite cookie is an oatmeal raisin. When I was a teenager we had a family friends who lived in Greeley, CO and then moved to Iowa (45 yrs ago) who had a wonderful basic cookie recipe that you made then if you wanted oatmeal you and fed oatmeal, peat nut butter add peanut butter, choc chip add choc chip. You just adjusted recipe for what you wanted. My mom had it but sh died when I was 18 and we lost recipe. If anyone ever has heard or has I sure would love it. It really was good
We are making up a bunch of cookie doughs this weekend! Try putting butterscotch chips in your oatmeal/cinnamon cookies and perhaps adding Reeses Pieces or Peanut Butter Chips to your Peanut Butter cookies. I also exchange out M&M's in my chocolate chip cookie recipe - so good! Have you ever just made molasses cookies? Stay warm/safe and excited for babies arrival!

Fun retro fact: During the 70’s some time after Pringles were invented, it became a popular trend to use the empty tubes/lids as storage containers for frugal home bakers to freeze their wrapped cookie dough logs in. Lol…Yes, I’m that old that I remember it first hand.
@@yvonnewallace7567
Thats a great idea!!!!
Except I never cared for pringles...lol
🍃🤣🍃
This is my preferred way. Takes up way less space in the freezer. Never tried Pringles can, just regular logs is good
My MIL does that and her cookies are phenomenal.
Josh's little giggle with his zucchini remark. He's just so cute...lol you're both gonna be awesome parent's
I hate to admit I’ve never thought of making cookie dough and freezing to bake later, you truly are inspiring. 👍❤️
So who here is waiting for their Becky fix lol I hope mommy and baby are doing good. We are praying for you to have an easy delivery and no stress.
Yay a video! But...all I can keep thinking is "I wonder if baby is here yet? Oh I hope someone posts on community page once little one is here!" I think we're ALL excited & on tenderhooks.
Praying for a fast and beautiful labor and delivery and a healthy and happy momma and baby❤️🙏🏾
Soft and chewy all the way! I make literally a couple thousand cookies every year for the holidays for gift baskets. I make all cookie dough as much as several months ahead and I freeze them just like you did. They come out so much better from frozen. Love watching you! Happy baking!
Wow, impressive…! 😲😃 Do you defrost the cookies before putting them in the oven?
That's a great idea!!
@@tabeamuller6467 no I put them directly into preheated oven. It takes about 5 minutes longer time than recipe says. They come out great!! Merry Christmas!!!
You sound like I used to do...
Becky has such great recipes. Happy Holidays
Brandee Goodnight - thank you for answering me! I will definitely try that! Merry Christmas to you! 🎄
I don't think in all my 71 years I have frozen cookie dough! Thank you for the inspiration and to get ahead of my baking for Christmas!♥ xo Deb
They're so good!! I've made two huge batches and keep them in the freezer. My kids bake them off 4 at a time (they're huge cookies)
Team chewy cookie all the way!!
Becky and Josh just find a way to make this Community feel like home, don't they. So looking forward to meeting Baby!
❤🙏❤🙏❤
Beth
Praying you are doing well! Cant wait to see an update on baby! I know its getting sp close! Prayers for a safe delivery and healthy Momma and baby!
Put the dough in the fridge for 30mins or so then they wont spread…the butter is too warm
@@kathkwilts 😲😲😲 that's crazy! I do use Walmart butter 🤔🤔 and that actually explains a lot of happenings in my kitchen! I will definitely be testing this thank you *so much*. This deserves to be a highlighted comment imo
Can’t wait for baby announcement 🎉. And I enjoy this video so much, I’ve watched it 3 times.
Becky, we’re all praying for a easy delivery. 🙏💙
Thank you Becky! You can also top the peanut butter cookies with a Hershey kiss on top the last 4 minutes of baking to add chocolate 😊
That’s what I do 😊
I’m team chewy cookie with a little crisp around the edge. ☺️
Happy Holidays Everyone! Thank you Becky. Now for afternoon coffee and Becky video.
Love that saying ; Work smarter not harder. So true ! An old friend of ours used to say ; Plan the work and work the plan. My grown son still quotes him 20 -25 years later ! 😉
I make my own brown sugar now thanks to one of your other videos. I don’t have to worry about stiff bags anymore. I also make my own powder sugar too! It does not need to be sifted :))
Team Crunchy!
And must be golden brown! Pale cookies are a no go in my home. And we love raisins! lol
But, everyone has their own preferences and thank God for that!
Thinking of you this morning, Becky darlin!
Becky & Josh congratulations on your new home…and baby (hopefully your bundle of joy is in your arms and you are getting rest).
Can I say I miss your old kitchen? :) I found your channel a couple years ago during lockdown so I’m used to seeing you in that setting baking for the holidays. But I love how you have all of your baking supplies so organized in your new kitchen. You’re awesome!
I made Christmas Crack from last years recipe and gifted them to my neighbors last night. They were so happy. Thank you Becky for bringing some joy to all our lives.
Becky, all the cookies look so good. Cookies are my downfall! The oatmeal and snicker noodles are my favorite. I am making cookies tonight. Thank you so much for caring and sharing with all of us. I pray your feeling good and your resting as much as you need to. Your mom and dad will love the baked cookies to enjoy on the way home or later in the evening with coffee or tea. You take care and rest and take care of yourself. Till next time Betty 🙏🙏🥰🥰
Yay!kids are napping and I have a quiet afternoon of making Christmas candies to sell at our local store, so happy to see a new video to watch as I'm working. Blessings Becky 🙌 😊
My bet on baby Bday is Dec 3rd first choice; Dec 7th second choice. My gut says baby is already here. Praying for you dear Becky and Josh. You’re blessed abundantly.
Becky... You crack me up. I love your gorgeous expressive eyes when you and Josh do taste tests.I love all that you do.
Becky, I loved rewatching this today, and realized how much I miss Josh, and his input! I love getting my husbands input, and I enjoy hearing Josh too! Any chance we can see or hear from him again soon?
Fabulous recipes Becky. I can’t believe you’re still doing this so close to your due date! You are so amazing 😻
Reese’s pieces are really good in the peanut butter cookies🎉
I bet Josh loved coming home to the smell and taste of so many different homemade cookies!
I just got a Kitchenaid mixer a week ago and will be using it to bake Christmas cookies this weekend. I’ve never used one before, so this video is a great resource at the perfect time. I’m only 15m into the vid and I’ve already learned so much. Thank you!!
I find it very interesting to see what other households make for Christmas cookies. I make a lot of these classics throughout the year, but we love them all the time.

Becky,Josh, and baby, wishing you all the very best!
Corn starch helps rolled cookies keep their shape. Love all these recipes! I made your snowball cookies today!
My 2 daughters and granddaughter are coming over on the 22nd for Christmas cookie baking marathon! We’re all looking forward to spending the day together!
Becky, thank you for the BRILLIANT suggestion of adding chocolate chips to peanut butter cookies. I am 1000% doing that!!!
That’s already a thing.
I was proud of you when you said you would slow down. Everyone will be surprised that if they slow down, they get a more harmonies out come. 🥰❤
Hi Becky, I have made cookie dough for Christmas. I love the idea of just baking a few at a time and having warm cookies when ever I want them. Your cookies looked delicious. Your Dad is the sweetest ❤ Until next time take care❤
Why am I not surprised that you prepared for the time you are likely having this little new member of your family, even thinking of all of us! I am praying for your delivery to be safe and joyful!
Oh Becky, we love you for everything you do and because you are such a nice person and a great teacher to so many of us! I hope you are enjoying so so well deserved down time. I/ we can not wait to hear about your new chapter. Love from Ontario Canada xo
Soft and Chewy! Our neighbor, Mrs. King, used to make Snickerdoodle cookies for us as kids! I used to make them as part of my Christmas Cookie baking!
I made my own brown sugar, used it all and just made another batch yesterday. I love it it does stay fresh and yes the quality
Was just thinking about you , We’re all praying for you and your Beautiful Family ! As the world awaits Baby Becky and Josh , We send out thoughts and Love to Acre Homestead!
Oh just in time for my Becky fix. Hope you all are doing wonderfully and hope for a stress free birth. We are all rooting and praying for ya’ll. ❤
Hello amazing Becky! I made the Snicker doodles today.. being in Australia this is not one we are familiar with. I added PB into the recipe, and when I taste tested them, well just know I did the bestest Becky eye googling ‘this is delicious’ look I could!! YUUUUMMMM…😂🎉
Becky you're just the cutest. I love watching you bake. I hope you and baby are taking it easy and getting some rest before the big day ❤
Congratulations on your little bundle of joy. Hope your little one allows his parents to get enough sleep.
Glad to see you! I hope you and Josh are resting with baby ( if baby has decided it's time to be born yet ). Wishing you, Josh and baby a Merry Christmas. Enjoy your first Christmas as parents and be sure to take it easy when you can. ❤
In any recipe, baked or otherwise, unless it specifically calls for raw nuts, roasting them is always a great decision. It brings out so much more flavor. How many times I've watched baking competitions and they always stick them if they haven't toasted their nuts. All these recipes sound great!
Hi Becky, I had no idea it was that easy to make your own Brown sugar thank you for sharing that recipe. Hope you guys are all well.
It tastes better too! I’ve been making it since watching Becky in an earlier video!
I also have been making my own since watching Becky make it months ago. It tastes so much better.
I just did this the other day and put cookie dough in the freezer because I get lazy in the winter lol
I had no idea either, going to start making my own now! I learn so much from her.
Making brown sugar is easy. You can also make powdered sugar with regular white sugar too.
Definitely team chewy! The crunchy cookie I like is ginger snap, but those are also amazing when chewy as well!
Try adding dried cranberries and white chocolate chips (and toasted chopped walnuts) to your cinnamon oatmeal cookies. My absolute favorite 'healthy' cookie. You can leave the nuts out when you make the dough and just add a few to yours when you bake them. That way you get the nuts you enjoy and Josh gets his without.
it's funny that she suggested these exact mix ins later in the video as her examples.
YaaaaY! Tis our friend Becky. 🤗
Mmm cookies, cinnamon oatmeal cookis sound yummy as well. 🥳 Thank ye Becky, 🥳 We are with you in heartfelt prayer thoughts. Hugs to ye three. 💖💖💖 ('God cares for those with young; and In tte shadow of his wings, he cares for you. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼 Blessings everyone. Shalom.
Hope your doing okay Becky, looking forward to you hopefully introducing us to your precious baby if you can. Much love to you and your family ❤
Love watching your videos. Have you ever heard a messy cook is the best cook.
My brother was a very messy cook, but the whole town(for real) ( he cooked in restaurants)enjoyed there food when he was cooking.
Keep the videos COOKING!
My youngest daughter and I started our cookie cooking. We called it the hot mess cookie express. Wish us luck. They will hopefully make it until December.
Have Fun 🎉
I've added chocolate chips or Reese's pieces to my peanut butter cookies, and it's so good. And I loved Butter Pecan ice cream as a kid, still do!!
Wishing you a safe and healthy delivery for everyone.
You have inspired me to start my holiday baking tonight. I am going to definitely try the chewy peanut butter cookies.
My favorite part of this video Becky was seeing your dog sniffing the air when you were making your peanut butter cookies.
After buying frozen cookie dough from school kids over the years I've often thought of freezing cookie dough ahead of time. Its still a goal of mine. I save my plastic icecream containers. Thinking I'll freeze in a few of them. Thank you for sharing your recipes. All looked amazing! I'll have to try your peanut butter one especially. I shy away from making peanut butter cookies as you said some can be dry.
Also your snicker doodles sound good!
Praying for you Josh and baby. Also your families as they patiently await the arrival of your/their new member of the family
Love your videos as always Becky! Maybe next time you're making the chocolate chip cookie dough, scoop half of the dough into balls then add in walnuts to the remaining dough. Then, you and Josh both get the kind of cookies you like!
Great idea :)
I just love the idea of preparing cookie dough and freezing it, plus making different cookies at a time. Your very wise Becky.
Butter Pecan ice cream has always been my fave also! 😋❤️
From a Louisiana Lady... Pecans - Puh Cahns :) Thanks for the great video... Right on Time
You’re a wonder baking all these cookies and making it look so easy! Love your videos. Praying that things go well with the birth of your little one!
I always love seeing it hearing Josh in your videos. You guys are such a sweet couple.
This video is right on time for my family! I have plans to go to my moms with my kids to make cookies on Sunday. I already have plans to do some recipes from your videos last year. Thank you so much for sharing your trials and errors too btw! It’s hard trying new things and trusting they’ll turn out lol ❤❤❤
Edit: p.s. we have some nut allergies in our family so we do the whole batch without and then separate half and add nuts to the second half so that there’s something for everyone!
Mini reese's peanut butter cup in the middle of the peanut butter cookie
Butterscotch chips in almost any cookie is good...IMO.
I think she has a vid on making molasses cookies.
Can't wait to meet baby acre. Have wonderful family time and enjoy! We all LOVE you!
Becky, I am so excited for you and your family and the baby. You are all so sweet and babies are such a huge and ongoing blessing. Praying for a good delivery and a happy and healthy 4th trimester!
